Title: Up a creek without a paddle, or water
Taves Sarfell - November 7, 2008 12:00 AM (GMT)
Unfortunately for Taves, the bike was far less fueled than he had thought. He was now three hours under the sun and had no water. He decided the best course of action was to sit and meditate. He hoped that somehow, someone would sense his presence. "Help...help..." before he lost consciousness after two more hours, he thought he had felt something coming closer.
Ayanna Nyx - November 7, 2008 12:16 AM (GMT)
Some hours had passed for Taves, the sands of Tatooine were cruel and vicious, rarely leaving any survivors after they had succumbed to the blistering heat. Though from across the sand dunes, someone was already aware of his suffering, his need for help. Out of the whirling sandstorms rode a figure riding on the back of an eopie. He stopped the beast mere feet from where Taves lay, partially covered in sand before he stepped down to aid him. Carefully he placed his hand on Taves' forehead, before he lifted him onto the back of the eopie.
In the distant, a howler of a Tusken Raider echoed through the thick mist, and he knew it was not going to be safe here for much longer. The sandstorms were cruel, but the Tuskens often used them to their advantages, with their tracks lost in the dust behind them. The figure did not wait any longer before taking Taves and himself to safety.
Over the few hours that followed, Taves was left to rest inside an old sanctuary of this mysterious individual, hidden in the rock mountains. The figure waited patiently, watching over him until he would recover.....
Taves Sarfell - November 7, 2008 01:26 AM (GMT)
Taves awoke. What he felt wasn't what he expected. He felt cool air, where he expected to feel scorching heat. The strangest thing he felt however, was the presence of another person in the room. He turned to see an aging man looking at him with intent, searching eyes. Taves looked at him in return with a rather quizzical expression. "I assume you're the one that saved me. Thank you for that." Taves now squeezed out a smile. He was incredibly grateful to be alive. He just couldn't imagine who would have found him out in the middle of the desert. It struck him as odd. "If you don't mind me asking..." it was then that Taves noticed the incredibly strong force presence that the man gave off. He was struck with awe. "Master...Master Obi-Wan...?"
Ayanna Nyx - November 7, 2008 01:39 AM (GMT)
The weathered looking Jedi Master gave a quaint little smile, signifying that indeed Taves was right on his assumption,
"You're fortunate to be all in one piece, the sand people were not long off from where I found you. So tell me young man, where have you come from? I guess you came all this way in search of me." He said before handing Taves a tall cup of cool water to quench his thirst, before he sat himself down to hear Taves' story.
Taves Sarfell - November 7, 2008 06:08 PM (GMT)
Taves drained the cup. It felt good to have something in his system. He contemplated how to answer the Jedi Master. The beginning seemed the best place to start. "Well Master, my name is Taves Sarfell. I suppose if you look back at it far enough I come from Coruscant. Of course some time has passed since I've been there. I left originally with intentions of becoming a bounty hunter to make a name for myself in the Galaxy. Fortunately I realize what a pig headed fool I was for that. It was through this profession that I met my old Master Solon. I was forced to silence my inner demons before he was willing, but since then I don't think I've felt the inner peace that I have now ever before. Through a series of events we met up with another group of Jedi, two of which have accompanied me here, but since we've been separated. My fellow Knight Zen-Tak Low and I have recently encountered some dark powers in the galaxy. One was a Dark Jedi that fortunately we had the skill to dispatch with the limit of our powers. There were two others, who I wouldn't call totally dark, but they have dark tendencies. They're named Kalin and Ayanna. They said that they had spoken to you involving something important, and that I should speak to you before I decide how to use my powers in the Galaxy. That is how I came to be in the desert. I was running from a detail of stormtroopers when we arrived."
Taves didn't know whether his explanation was substantial, but he hoped it was.
Ayanna Nyx - November 8, 2008 06:05 AM (GMT)
Obi-Wan listened with intrigue, "Yes, I remember the two you mentioned, they are not of the light or of the dark, but they could easily fall to either side, dependent on their choices. They came to me also for guidance, but I'm here for another purpose, and also to keep hidden from the eyes of the Empire. You have had a troubled life, many choices you have been given and so far you have chosen wisely. You are a Jedi Knight, you know the strengths and weaknesses that you have inside you. What could an old man like me say or do that could tell you anything more than you already know?" He asked curiously.
Taves Sarfell - November 8, 2008 11:35 PM (GMT)
Taves remembered the conversation that he had had with Kalin and Ayanna which had sent him here. "Well, there was one thing that Kalin said. It was in reference to someone. It was..." Taves took a second. "A man, one who would unite the Jedi. Is it...is it you? This must be a powerful man." Just then, a thought popped into Taves' head. When he had lived on Coruscant, there were stories that Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, had been killed in the slaughter at the Jedi temple. Perhaps that was the case, Anakin Skywalker was alive and hiding on Tatooine. "Master, is it...is it Anakin Skywalker!? Is he still alive!? Is he here!?" If Taves had known the truth he would have thought that he seemed like a little child at that moment. Filled with such excitement that one of the heroes of his childhood was still alive, and would bring about the return of the Jedi.
Ayanna Nyx - November 9, 2008 07:44 AM (GMT)
Obi-Wan did not say anything at first, "The fate of the Jedi lies in the hands of all of us, and also in the hands of the rebellion. And concerning Anakin Skywalker, he died many years ago....." He said silently before pouring Taves another drink, realizing he must have been drained, "So, what is it I can do for you my young friend? You didn't travel all this way just to visit my dusty old abode. I expect there are other Jedi who are in better conditions to help you than I. I am limited to remaining here...."
Taves Sarfell - November 10, 2008 11:07 PM (GMT)
Taves contemplated Obi-Wan's words for a moment. Truth be told he had been expecting more of a profound explanation of everything, and now it seemed he was at another dead end. "Well" he said "I suppose now I might try to expand my knowledge. I wonder..." Taves wondered whether it would be completely foolish to ask the question, he had seen those tomes and most of them were destroyed. "I wonder if it's possible to find anything of merit in the library at the Jedi Temple? It seems the most solid choice at the moment."
Ayanna Nyx - November 11, 2008 12:10 PM (GMT)
"The Jedi Temple still stands on Coruscant, it's purposes to the Empire are unknown to me, but I would expect it to be one of the most dangerous places for any Jedi to set foot. The Archives were badly damaged during the Jedi Purge, whether anything still remains there, I cannot say. If there is anything, then you will be able to access the greatest secrets and techniques of the Jedi Order. It would be a foolish move to go to such a place, but I can only advise you, I cannot stop you. I was a stubborn young Jedi myself once, a long time ago now...." He laughed slightly, "If I were you, I would take along some kind of datapad, rather than reading everything you need from the Archives there and then, save yourself some time and upload any information you need, then you can take it with you where ever you go." The old Jedi suggested in a friendly manner.
Taves Sarfell - November 11, 2008 10:25 PM (GMT)
Taves nodded and stood before the Master Jedi "Thank you master Kenobi, you have been of great help. I hope that our paths cross again in the future." Taves bowed and stood for a moment in case the old master had any parting piece of advice or benediction.
Ayanna Nyx - November 12, 2008 02:19 AM (GMT)
"My young friend...." He paused for a moment, "Remember, the path of being a Jedi is not merely that of training and Force abilities, it is also of understanding and wisdom. You already are wise beyond your years, use your instincts..... Don't give in to the lure of the darkness.... It is easier..... More seductive.... But you will destroy all you have fought to achieve....." He said with a brief smile of encouragement, he already sensed something about Taves, though he hoped he was wrong.
Olly2007 - November 13, 2008 10:49 PM (GMT)
As Zen drove the old V-35 out of the main hangars of Mos Eisly a huge sand storm had hit, He tried to continue through it, but the sand had clogged his turbines.
"Sith Spit!". He moaned.
He climbed form the drivers seat and moved to one of the larger passenger ship, He took the time to meditate.
He took a drink from one of his supplies and then sunk into his meditation.
He thought hard, what if Taves and Lamaya had already met with Obi-wan, He would meditate through the sand storm, once it was over he would try to find Obi-wan.
Though he had no idea where to look.
He hoped he would feel the place in the force, it would be hard in the middle of no where.
Taves Sarfell - November 16, 2008 07:31 PM (GMT)
As Taves felt Obi-Wan's piercing stare, he tried to find some way to redirect his attention. Suddenly, a solution presented itself out of nowhere. Taves felt another presence touch his in the Force. This one was very familiar, it only took Taves a moment to recognize it as Zen. No doubt he was on Taves' trail. Taves knew that going to the Jedi Temple wouldn't be easy, but he much rather would have gone alone and not risk Zen's life along with his own. He looked at Obi-Wan.
"My friend Zen is nearby. I would love to see him again, but I have a feeling that he would follow me to the Jedi Temple. I don't want to risk his life as well my own. Would you be willing to find him and tell him I've already set off on my own? Tell him not to follow me, and to find Master Solon or Lamaya for now, or at least that I wish him to. I'll find him after my task is complete."
Ayanna Nyx - November 21, 2008 05:16 PM (GMT)
"You'd best be on your way, you know my thoughts already, be careful if you do decide to go to the old Jedi Temple on Coruscant..... Your friend will be able to find his own way I'm sure.... I have other matters to attend to. My presence here is meant to be secret.... Only a few people in the galaxy are aware that I am here, and I will trust that you will keep this knowledge to yourself......"
Obi-Wan walked Taves back to the canyons bellow, making sure that there were no Tusken Raiders in the area that could effect his journey, "Take care my young friend..... And may the Force be with you..... Always....." He said finally, before raising his hood up and heading back to his abode in the mountains.
OOC: As said in the chatbox, I won't be able to RPG much anymore, it's just over a week until Kalin and I are going to Scotland and we have loads to arrange, including ordering new furniture for when we return, which will occupy a lot of next week for us.
Zen, I don't know what your plans were on Tatooine, if you were wanting to meet up with Taves or what not, but I won't be able to Rp with Obi-Wan anymore, I just don't have the time. We're going to be tying off all stories we are involved with so that everyone is free to do as they wish when we are gone.
We're back on January 14th so after then we'll be able to RP again :) PM me if you have any questions or what not.
Olly2007 - November 25, 2008 10:56 AM (GMT)
Zen awoke abruptly from his meditation, the sand storm had past, but he felt something, some one - strong in the force.
Quickly moving and opening the hatch he look around, He saw nothing, he turned to look the other way, As he did he thought he saw a silhouette of a figure, wearing a hooded robe. He spun back round but the figure was gone - AND so was the strong prescience.
Looking down at the speeder it was covered in sand. Sighing he closed the hatch and sat back at the controls.
As he started the speeder it would not start, "Sith spit" He said to himself, "Sand".
Climbing back out of the vehicle he was right, the engine was covered and clogged with sand.
For any one else this would be difficult, but Zen summoned the force and lightly blew the sand away.
After making sure he had everything, he felt yet another presence, this one not strong enough to be the old Jedi master.
Looking around, he walked round to the hatch. Suddenly a laser blast just hit the sand, missing him by inches.
Ducking, he grabbed his lightsaber, but did not ignite it. Then he heard a noise that not many on Tatooine wish to hear. The animal like calls of the sand people.
He stood back up and could see the sand people running towards him, this would not give him the time he needed to get the speeder going.
He grabbed his Vibrosword from its holster and stood ready for the sand people.
As the first ran at him to strike he jumped over activating his lightsaber and managed to get a slash that took of an arm.
Standing in a ready to fight stance, the other tusken's stopped and looked at him, realizing that it was not worth fighting a Jedi, they stood down. Zen moved back, helping up the now one armed raider. He summoned the force and healed the wound, closing it.
He moved the tusken back to the others, "I am sorry that had to happen - But i am glad you chose to stand down, He will be okay" He moved back toward his vehicle, he was not 100% trusting of the Tusken Raiders. "May the force be with you".
He made his way back to Mos Eisley star port, unsure if he would see Tave's again, he wondered if Taves had taken the ship or not, but it did not matter, Zen was unsure of where to head after this, maybe he would seek out the rumored Rebel Alliance that Solon had sought after.
He could even give his hand as a pilot, his history in the Ithorian space defense would help that. He would have to see where his path took him.
