Title: Rescue of the Jedi part I

Kalin Thalis - September 23, 2008 02:56 PM (GMT)
Kalin was notified a new nest of Jedi was discovered on Ryloth. Being on Korriban, he stopped the murders for now and contacted Lord Vader.
"Master, why wasn't I notified about this? Why didn't you ask me to kill them... I want them all dead!!!"

Of course on Vader's look of his helmet you couldn't tell what he was actually thinking but he responded,
"Your anger and your hatred are useful tools for the future, my apprentice, but not all Jedi are wanted dead... They can be useful to us alive. We will torture them and they will give us clues of potential other nests where the Jedi are hiding. From Commander Drčt's report, already about five Jedi died during their capture, but the rest is to remain alive for interrogation. Don't interfere and let my troops take care off it, Kalin!"

Kalin clenched his teeth and replied,
"Yes... My master."

Of course he wasn't just gonna sit by while these Jedi were captured.
At night he stole another ship and left the Thranta behind. Nobody could know again that he left the academy. He set the coordinates for Ryloth and his ship disappeared into lightspeed.

He came out of hyperspace and his ship started to shake once he wanted to enter the atmosphere. The weather was causing some turbulence and it gave Kalin a hard time to land. The ship was pretty badly bruised as it landed, but it was still operative. Kalin stepped down the ramp of the ship seeing there was a lot of commotion going on. It seemed that that Vader's legion was taking high precautions to transport the Jedi to Coruscant. There were about 35 Stormtroopers guarding only a number of 15 Jedi. Kalin expected a higher number of Jedi, but then again Lord Vader did say that some of them got killed during the capturing of these Jedi.

He stepped closer to the stormtroopers and asked one of them immediately,
"I want to see Commander Drčt at once!"
"On whose authority? I'm not allowed to talk to civilians..." The stormtrooper replied.
"I'm not just a civilian!" Kalin said showing his badge that gave him the authority over these stormtroopers, though only over the 501st. Others couldn't know of Kalin's function as Vader's apprentice.
Once the Stormtrooper checked out the badge, he returned and said,
"Okay it seems to be legitimate, follow me..." And he guided Kalin to his commander.

"You are commander Drčt?!" Kalin asked,
"Yes I'm in charge of this mission sir, my troops told me you are here on Vader's authority. Is there a problem?!" He asked humble scared if Vader had any complaints.
"I just want an update when these Jedi can be transported." Kalin asked.
"We will have to wait until tomorrow until the weather clears up. I don't want to take any risks, transporting these Jedi." Drčt replied.
Kalin nodded, "Thank you for the update and nice work, commander!" He complimented him. The commander nodded back.

Kalin looked around where the Jedi were caged. He looked angry at them as they looked angry at him. Kalin took a look at their possessions, such as their lightsaber. Then an idea sprung to mind.

Kalin left the area and waited in his ship until the night arrived. The stormtrooper's camp was lighted with spotlights as they guarded the cage. They patrolled around the cage while others patrolled around the area to prevent anyone could get near the camp.

Kalin placed on his old cloak and placed his hood over his head. Stepping down the ramp the mission he had planned out was about to begin....

Kalin Thalis - September 23, 2008 05:32 PM (GMT)
As the night fell, the stormtroopers were still patrolling, feeling uncomfortable as the weather had not settled down yet. They looked up from the caves.. From their camp. The storm was still going on, which could jeopardize Kalin's plan too.

The commander took contact with Lord Vader with the holocom,
"Lord Vader, we can't get these Jedi of the planet yet, it's too dangerous... The weather would crush our transports into oblivion!"

"Excuse me, miss Sundara. This is of major importance!" Vader said turning back to the commander, "Commander... The Emperor will not tolerate any failure. He wants those Jedi here at once. The longer you wait to get them to Coruscant, the higher the chance is that the Emperor will be displeased. And if he isn't pleased... I WILL not be pleased...." Vader said threatening.

The Commander gulped, "I know, my lord, there's something else you should be aware about, we have.. Aaaargh!!!" The connection broke as Vader saw a blue lightsaber striking the commander down.

At the camp the man with the blue lightsaber just attacked the commander. The stormtroopers patrolling the area blasted bolts in all directions to strike the cloaked man down. They didn't care if the Jedi caged were hit. The cloaked man passed the lightsabers back to the Jedi. At the time he had he could only pass about three lightsabers. But this was enough for the Jedi to burn their way through the cage,

"Thank you... Whoever you are..." One of the Jedi said.

"Don't thank me... We're not out of this yet..." The cloaked man said while he was firing back bolts hitting the stormtroopers by deflecting them. The three Jedi armed with their lightsabers followed his example and deflected as many bolts as they could. Other Jedi stood by their side to help them using their Force Powers to Force Push their opponents down. While they were Force pushed down the cloaked man jumped over them striking his lightsaber right through their chest.

The Jedi were thankful to this man they were saved by him, but they found his way of working very dangerous and they could sense the Dark Side was strong in him. While they kept fighting off the stormtroopers, they kept their suspicion.

The stormtroopers requested back-up. About 30 stormtroopers more arrived at the camp.

"Where are our lightsabers?!" One of the Jedi yelled.

The cloaked man pointed his lightsaber in the direction where the Jedi could find theirs. With their abilities they could call their own lightsaber back to their hands. Some were mixed up, but most Jedi had their own lightsabers back in their possession.
This gave them a stronger chance to fight back and the stormtroopers were almost wiped out in no time.

As the fight ended, the cloaked man stepped back to the Jedi.

"You can remove your hood now, my friend..." One of the Jedi said, curious who their rescuer was, though also suspicious why he was using the Dark Side so much during their escape.

"If you don't mind, I'll keep it on... Just my own precautions... Nothing personal..." The cloaked man said.

He turned around looking at the stormtroopers transports. These were Delta-shuttles. Not the strongest ships.

"Get to the ships, I will guide you through the weather..." The cloaked man said.

"WHAT?! That's suicide?!" One of the Jedi yelled out.

"Staying here is suicide... Vader will surely send reinforcements, so if we don't leave this rock, then you'll either die or be captured once again... The choice is yours." The cloaked man said.

The Jedi nodded and headed for the transports. The cloaked man headed for his own ship and deactivated his blue lightsaber. It was actually not his own. It was a lightsaber he earlier stole from the camp. He had easy access to it being Vader's apprentice as revealed when he took his hood off. The ship was not in good condition, but it had to get through the weather.

His ship was the first to lift off. Kalin used the Force to sense where the lightning would strike. The Delta-shuttles took off following Kalin's ship. Filled with Jedi they told themselves everything would be all right. One of the Jedi said, "Don't worry... The Force will guide us..."
Another Jedi shook his head, "No this man is guiding us..." He said in a pessimistic voice, having not much hope to survive this escape.

Kalin guided his own ship through the weather, though he could dodge the lightning, the turbalance was still very heavy and it gave the ship and the other shuttles a hard time to get out of the atmosphere. One of them almost got hit by lightning. Kalin looked back... "That was too close..." He said to himself.

Finally the ship and the shuttles got out of the atmosphere. His ship was heavily damaged and the shuttles weren't in great condition, but they made it out without any ship crashing to pieces because of the terrible weather. Kalin placed his hood up and made contact with the other shuttles,

"Okay the second stage of our escape is completed. However it's not over yet... I'll make contact with you later... Just hang on for now, okay?!" Kalin said in a hurry. Then he needed to find a way where he could dispose these Jedi. Could he maybe make contact with Ayanna. Maybe her Jedi friends could take care of this....

Kalin Thalis - September 23, 2008 07:54 PM (GMT)
Kalin was thinking. Contacting Ayanna was dangerous, but it was a risk he had to take. He contacted the other Jedi. "How are you holding out there?!"

"We're doing fine! But if I may ask, where are we going exactly?!" The Jedi asked worried.

"We have to find refuge! A neutral zone for you to stay where you'll be safe?!"

"And you know such a place?!" He asked sceptical. "This isn't really a safe place for Jedi anymore, you know!"

"I KNOW... Now let me deal with this." Kalin said in rage, he started to regret he saves this Jedi, they were a bit of a pain in the ass."

He looked for a safe connection they couldn't spy on to take contact with Ayanna. He send a message to her comlink,

"Dear Ayanna, undetected I was able to safe about 35 Jedi. Now I need to find a safe haven for them, but I'll need yours and Qurhon's help. Notify him of my actions. These Jedi need refuge but I can't pull this off alone. If they find these Jedi, they'll find me and all my efforts will be lost! Help me Ayanna... You're my only hope..."

He send the transmission in hope it would reach her in time. Now the only thing that Kalin could do was wait and hope she would reply as soon as possible.

After a while a message came back to him from Ayanna,

"Kalin, I think it's wonderful what you have done.... But I cannot help you.... Not me, but I have contacted Qurhon, I'm certain that he will be able to help you with this matter. Everything will be alright, I hope. I'm sending through details on how you can contact each other, you don't need to go through me any more.... *sigh*..... I hope I can see you again soon.... Someday......"

The transmission faded and died.

Kalin Thalis - September 23, 2008 08:35 PM (GMT)
Kalin waited nerviously. He was about to contact Qurhon until another message came in. It was Qurhon himself:

"Kalin, I heard of your achievement through Ayanna. Though I am worried about her too. She doesn't want to say anything about her whereabouts... You have to contact her again. Maybe she'll talk to you! Anyway about the Jedi. It's a miracle. But I'll keep it short. Bring them to a neutral zone to hide. Send us your coordinates and we'll pick them up and take them out of your hands and into our care."

Kalin didn't waste any time and made a transmission back,

"Qurhon, thank you for your help my friend. The nearest planet, is Tatooine. I can hide them in the Dune Sea. I know the planet very well. It is a dangerous area, but at least there are not too many imperials patrolling around, so we should be safe there for the time being, but please hurry up! Thank you!"

He ended the transmission waiting for an answer. He contacted the other Jedi,

"Help is on the way, my friends(!)" Kalin said sarcastically as they were not really his friends at all, "We will land on Tatooine, while we wait for my friends to arrive. They are Jedi too and they will take care of you." Kalin said.

"Okay, whoever you are! I sure hope you know what you are doing..." The Jedi said in a dreaded voice.

Kalin whispered to himself, 'So do I.....'
