Title: Illum

Kalin Thalis - September 18, 2008 11:32 AM (GMT)
Illum, a planet far in the outer rim, which the Jedi kept hidden and where the crystal grew which they used for their lightsaber. It's a bitter cold ice planet. Qurhon and Ayanna arrived their grabbing a transport in Theed. They wore some protection clothing from the bitter clothes over their Jedi tunics. Standing before the cliff they had to climb up for to find the crystals,
"We'll have to climb up high to get inside the caves, this place is a lot diffferent than the caves of Dantooine. Here you'll find the perfect crystal. I found my crystals here, so did Kalin. It was no surprise that for me I found a green one, and before he had a crimson crystal, he had a pure blue one. As pure as he once was.."
Qurhon looked up the cliff, "Well let's not waste any time and try to get as fast as possible to the top of this cliff, do you have your gear ready to climb?" Qurhon asked his padawan.

Ayanna Nyx - September 18, 2008 12:04 PM (GMT)
She nodded before she began to leap up, pulling herself up the rocks. The entrance of the caves here had once been opened, but the Emperor had it destroyed after the Jedi Purge. But that could not stop the crystals from forming inside as it had done for millions of years. As they got nearer to the top, it became colder, the air more fierce on the skin, but they had not long to go now.

After a good hour of climbing, they finally came to an entrance into the caves. Ayanna quickly ran inside to get herself out of the blisteringly cold winds and into shelter.

"Well, that was.... Interesting!" She said as she panted, her hands numb with the cold.

As they went further inside, she could see the glowing light from all the crystals already before them, "Oh my....."

Kalin Thalis - September 18, 2008 12:12 PM (GMT)
"Now I will have to leave you, Ayanna. Sit down and meditate. You will go through a trance. You will pass through visions, voices. Some of them may frighten you. Some of them are drawn from your own past. They are your deepest fears. That is what you must face." Qurhon said as a warning. "Take the components to fashion your lightsaber. Do not rush the task, some Jedi take days, weeks to make it. We will stay as long on Illum as long as is necessary." Qurhon looked to a wall with strange drawings on, symbols, it was broken cracked down. "This tells our history, unfortunately the Emperor broke this wall down when he found this place..."
Qurhon was about to leave her alone with the crystals as he said, "Well it's time.. go into the trance state. Clean your mind. Then your feelings will guide your intente. Now begin..."
Qurhon left so she could fashion her saber by herself though he was worried in what visions, what fears she had to face when she would enter her trance.

Ayanna Nyx - September 18, 2008 12:59 PM (GMT)
Ayanna nodded with a smile, "Thank you master...."

She then wandered into the caverns on her own before finding a spot to sit. She placed all of the components in front of her. This was a new technique she had not heard of before, she assumed that all Jedi selected their crystals and that was all, but this method meant that the right one would come to her. She closed her eyes as she began to concentrate. More than an hour passed of silence before something then began to happen. She felt a warmth on her skin, something that was not natural to the place she was sitting in now. She heard a lightsaber igniting, an a scream, a horrible scream. As she looked to the images in her mind, she saw Adanna and Rune falling to the ground in front of her, their bodies riddled with lightsaber wounds. As she looked to her own body, she could see the gaping hole in her shoulder, the way it had been many years ago. But the things changed, she felt the presence of the Dark Side around her, the bodies vanished and all she could see was Li, then Kalin, then another figure who she could not make out. She wasn't sure what this meant, and she wished she could identify the other. She could still hear the horrible screaming in her mind, a woman screaming in pain over and over. She saw flashes of a knife on skin, tearing the flesh open, a back of a woman being sliced open and stabbed repeatedly. She flinched while in her meditation, what was this? She thought to herself, she thought this was about her lightsaber but there was something haunting her here. She saw herself as a Sith, as Zaria, her face and clothes splattered with blood of the body she stood over. But the body that lay lifeless was herself, the way she was now, in her white attire. She could barely recognize the body of herself, it was torn limb from limb in a pool of blood. But she still heard the screaming, it never stopped, screaming in her ears that was almost deafening. But then it subsided, and all she saw was Kalin, not as she knew him. He wore a light tunic and he stood in front of her, as she was now. Smiling a little at her, but he was bathed in shadows, so much so she could barely see him. His image seemed to fade more and more until it was gone, and when her other self reached for him, he was already cloaked in darkness, and then completely gone.

The screaming returned, so much so she caught a fright, but she could still see herself, standing alone in the darkness and looking to where Kalin had disappeared, but someone was coming up behind her, but she did not turn around. Then she recognized it was Li, but before her other self could turn around, a red blade pieced through her chest, boiling her heart from her body, the blade continuing to twist, not allowing the flesh to hear or organs to regrow, until she fell to the ground, dead.

Then things seemed to rewind, where she saw herself and Kalin once again, with Kalin's image beginning to fade and become darker, but just as he did, her image reached out and took his hand. Kalin's image did not clarify but it stayed the same, shadowed, but visible. Suddenly an immense light blinded her, with the images before her vanishing, she gasped. Seeing the components of the lightsaber in front of her, she clarified her thoughts again, she thought she understood everything now, and with her mind she felt the components of the lightsaber combining, reconstructing the metal and forming something perfectly new until the saber landed in her hands, completed.

She stood up from where she had sat, unknowing how much time had passed, but as she ignited her lightsaber, it shone with a fantastic sapphire glow. This was her lightsaber, one she made herself. The first of many she would no doubt have in her life. But what happened here, in her mind, was something that caused her a lot of trouble. Apart from Kalin, did she see anything good? And what was it she saw exactly? The past, present or future? She turned and began to walk to the entrance, to see if Qurhon was still waiting for her.

Kalin Thalis - September 18, 2008 01:06 PM (GMT)
Qurhon appeared, "I've been looking for you for hours, you went deeper in the caves then I thought. You vanished and then I head screaming . I presumed this was the fears in your visions you had to face." Qurhon looked down to the lightsaber she was holding. "I see you completed your lightsaber, very good, my apprentice. Now you can finally call you a true Jedi Knight, you've faced all the trials a Padawan could... And now I am no longer your master, but your friend, your brother..." Qurhon said with a smile.
"Now let's get off this rock and return to our friends..."

Ayanna Nyx - September 18, 2008 01:16 PM (GMT)
Ayanna smiled as she followed Qurhon out of the caves, "Qurhon, there's something..... Well a few thingsI wanted to speak to you about, firstly, some of the things I saw in my visions. I saw Adanna and Rune die, just as I remembered, I understand that is the past. And I saw Kalin but not as himself, in darkness, the first time, the vision of myself that stood with him did nothing and he completely vanished into the darkness. And then afterwards I was killed, I saw myself die at the hands on Li, then things seemed to rewind and I saw myself and Kalin again, but before he disappeared again into darkness, I reached out for him, touched him, and he stayed with me. He did not disappear. That was where the vision ended but there was something else. A horrible screaming over and over, I saw a woman's body being ripped apart with a knife, stabbed.... It was horrible.... I don't know what it means...."

Kalin Thalis - September 18, 2008 01:21 PM (GMT)
Qurhon looked not too worred about the vison, "As I said this place can show you your worst fears. It seems you still fear Li, though you claim you did not. The vision of Li killing you seems to signify that you are afraid he would still killl you or someone close to you. You fear what Kalin's destiny would be in the darkness he still stands in. You want to help him, that's why you reached out with your arm, but I can't tell you what the woman means who got so badly killed. Did you recognize her?" Qurhon asked in high curiosity but still a little bit worried hoping this was only a part of her past and not her future.

Ayanna Nyx - September 18, 2008 01:25 PM (GMT)
She shook her head, "I only saw her back, she looked naked.... It was as though someone was driving a knife over and over her back again, leaving enormous wounds, then stabbing her afterwards over and over, but she still screamed. It was horrible..." She said as she placed her hand over her eyes, "There's something else, not related to the vision but what happened between me and Kalin on Naboo..... I told him I still loved him, he said he felt the same, and I admit that we did kiss.... And though part of me wanted to go with him, I stopped myself.... I know he has done terrible things, and he will do worse in the future, I know it, but I can't hate him. I think this is the way things should be...."

Kalin Thalis - September 18, 2008 01:30 PM (GMT)
"Well I'm not sure what the vision precisely means, but I'm sure time will tell. And don't feel guilty about your feelings to Kalin. Just keep them in balance and the fact you kissed him yet, you did not join him again, proved you have your feelings in balance, just as a Jedi should have. Hate is not a Jedi trait. We Jedi should not hate, yet there are those who do... I'm not sure if Alluria hates Kalin, but she surely thinks he is beyond redemption and just can't forgive him for his crimes. I can forgive him if he would redeem himself, but that is a choice he'll have to make on his own..."

Ayanna Nyx - September 18, 2008 04:43 PM (GMT)
"He'll do the right thing, I know he will.... Although, I know that my opinion of what that is, is different from other people.... I know that ultimately, he will do the right thing, I don't say that he will not do terrible deeds until then. It's a fine balance master, I choose not to kill people as I did in the past any longer, that is my choice but I understand his if he must follow orders. Whereas I know that Alluria cannot accept that, but it is her choice. You can't resent her for it just as you cannot resent Kalin for what he is doing now." She gave a strange smile, "You know it's strange, I had to be parted from Kalin, learn to live without him to truly love him. I believe in him as much as I do the rebellion. They may seem small and insignificant, but they will make a stand one day, I know it. I can appreciate the light and the dark side equally, but I don't think I am in the middle. I was not stable there, because I did contradicting actions. But now, I have learned that I can understand both, but decide to only do good. The difference is phenomenal." She looked to Qurhon, "What do you think we will do now? I am now a Jedi, you have no padawan, what is your goal now?" She asked.

Kalin Thalis - September 18, 2008 08:18 PM (GMT)
Qurhon smiled but he wasn't sure if Ayanna was going to like what he was about to say, "I'm going to hunt Kalin... Or should I say keep an eye on him. If he does continue slaying Jedi, then I think it is my duty to stop him. I failed in my last attempt, I can't fail again. I want to try and reason with him, however I'm not going to hope to succeed, but at least I can try. Maybe if I befriended him more he would share his intentions with me. I know he is hiding something, but he's so reluctant to share it with anybody, except maybe with you Ayanna, but then again I respect your opinion that you don't want to share it with us either, there must be a good reason, I hope... But yeah I have to hunt him back again, it will be a lonely task but I'm used to it." Qurhon revealed and wondered how she would react to it now.

Ayanna Nyx - September 18, 2008 08:32 PM (GMT)
Ayanna was strangely quiet for a moment, "I want to help you. If Kalin does stray down the wrong path then I think I'm the only one who can bring him back. I think that is what the vision was trying to tell me in the caverns just now. That is I do nothing, he may be lost, and you might be forced to kill him, but those events could lead to my own doom also, but if I try to help him, even if it pains me, then there is some hope. He is a good person Qurhon, I don't share the same view as Alluria, perhaps even not as you do. I know he will kill more people, I don't agree with it, but I don't think that means he is lost. It is the way of life, that some must die so that others can live, for the greater good. Though I will not take the actions that he has, I respect it. Kalin is a force of nature, a storm in it's wake, rather than trying to prevent it and causing more catastrophe, let the storm die out on it's own. And see what is left behind. I'm certain that one day, he will be the man that we all wish him to be, but that day is not this one...."

She was not sure what Qurhon would think of her opinion, she was not condoning the killings but she seemed to be willing to allow them for the greater good. Not a vastly different ideology than she followed as a Dark Jedi but this time she chose not to participate and instead do good.

Kalin Thalis - September 18, 2008 08:42 PM (GMT)
"I'm a bit of a dilemma here, Ayanna. I want to believe you and maybe some sacrifices have to made for the greater good, if that is indeed what Kalin is doing, but on the other hand, I can't just sit and watch while other people die in such massacres that Kalin commits. I can't allow them to happen, not anymore. If Kalin just good give me one good explanation that wasn't so vague, cause even you can't seem to describe how these killing can lead to 'a greater good'... I just don't understand it." Qurhon said confused, "I don't want to doubt your word that Kalin is a good person, I never believed he was truly evil, just misguided. However he might not be evil but his actions are. But if you or him can truly convince me that his actions are not meant for the evil I think but for this greater good you speak of, then maybe I am willing to accept more of what he's doing... I said 'maybe'... just maybe.." Qurhon sighed as he couldn't understand what this was all about.

Ayanna Nyx - September 18, 2008 08:50 PM (GMT)
As soon as they boarded the ship again to leave the planet, sitting in the cockpit, Ayanna put her hand on Qurhon's arm,

"My friend, there's something you should know. You are right, both Kalin and I have kept things from you, but not for any sinister reason. You find it hard to understand why I hold so much faith in him when he does the most evil things." She paused for a long moment before she spoke up again, "It's about the Chosen One, he lives Qurhon, he did not die in the Jedi Purge. Kalin and I learned the truth of his existence, but there is a problem, no one knows where he is. Except one, Vader. He is the only one who knows. This is why we went to seek out Obi-Wan, we hoped that he would know his whereabouts, but he did not. But he knew the same as we do, that he lives, Anakin Skywalker is alive out there somewhere. Don't you see? The prophecy has not been fulfilled yet, the Force will be brought back to balance. And Kalin wants to help with that. If he can get closer to Vader then he can learn the location of the Chosen One....." She said with a smile, "Kalin's intentions are pure, but he must do terrible deeds in order to gain Vader's trust.... It is of vital importance Qurhon, he must succeed in this. Perhaps now you understand why I feel the way I do...." She said, hoping that he indeed would.

Kalin Thalis - September 18, 2008 09:05 PM (GMT)
Qurhon sighed, "This is not a steady plan, Ayanna. I understand how desperately Kalin is trying to keep this a secret, but you should have shared this with me a long time ago. We spoke about trust between master and padawan remember." Qurhon looked down, "I must admit after the Jedi purge, even I couldn't believe anymore in the prophecy... I lost my faith in it. Many said that the prophecy was misread which makes me doubt if Anakin Skywalker was indeed the Chosen One. And I truly wonder how he survived the purge. Is Vader keeping him captive? Why? Why didn't he just kill him. He is a large threat to the Sith. He was suppose to destroy them and bring balance... But it never happened... That's why I only saw things darker. What you need is security. Secure that the Chosen One indeed lives and that he will bring balance, otherwise all this killing would be for nothing and so many Jedi would die in vain..."

Ayanna Nyx - September 18, 2008 09:10 PM (GMT)
"Trust me Qurhon, the Chosen One lives, I promise you that, even Master Obi-Wan knew this to be true. Kalin just needs time, and he will have a better chance of succeeding now that I am no longer with him. My focuses now are going to be on helping him find the Chosen One, preventing him from falling further to darkness, and helping the war against the Empire, because you know as well as I do that it is coming...." She said seriously, "Don't tell anything I told you to Alluria or the others, this is strictly meant for you, and perhaps Kalin will wish that I never told you, but you needed to understand where our faith lies. Kalin is still on 'our side', from a certain point of view. He wants to stop Palpatine, not help him... And now I have an advantage, because of my alignment, Vader or Palpatine will not sense me, I want to spy on them, I want to get into the guts of the Empire without having to do any dark deeds the way Kalin is. For him, he must fight and kill to learn of the Chosen One's whereabouts, but we can do something else, more importantly, help him..."

Kalin Thalis - September 18, 2008 09:17 PM (GMT)
Qurhon laughed, though he didn't intend any mockery, "What do your propose we do to help in his cause? Help him kill more Jedi, so he can get closer to Vader. How is he even so sure Vader would ever reveal the location of the Chosen One to him? He's been his apprentice for so long, he's sure taking his patience!" Qurhon saw so many flaws in the plan and even if it was intended for good, he didn't have as much faith in it as Ayanna did. Maybe she had more faith in it because she still loved Kalin,
"I want to hear this from Kalin himself, just so I know that you're not just defending him, because I know you still love him. Kalin will have to tell me his true plans and true intentions. I want to hear it from him." Qurhon said determined.
"Don't worry, I won't tell any of this to Alluria, she wouldn't have mcuh faith in it anyway. She wouldn't believe you or Kalin about this. She would just take it as an excuse so he can continue his killing. We have to find Kalin... And the sooner the better..."

Ayanna Nyx - September 18, 2008 09:32 PM (GMT)
Ayanna smiled a little, at least she was sure that he believed her enough to let her go along, but she had other plans in mind, but they would have to wait for now, "I don't propose that we kill anyone, at least not if it's out of self defense that is... Believe me, if he did not have good intentions then I would have lost faith in him too. Alluria jumps to conclusions, I don't. My mind is as clear as day light, and I know what I must do. Whether it is against other's wishes, even Kalin's, it doesn't matter. I want to help him, but also everyone else, it's not an easy thing to balance. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, so I will not act until I have thought everything out clearly, and of course, you should do the same. Speak to Kalin for yourself, hear his words, his plan, then you will understand..." She smiled.

Kalin Thalis - September 18, 2008 11:03 PM (GMT)
"I guess I will, but where do you think we should start looking. Did he tell you where he was going. My first guess would be Coruscant, but I don't want to get any near to the Imperial Palace or Vader's Castle... Been there once, nearly got caught! If we start looking for him then we need to find a way to contact him, without anyone else knowing. I know you two still have a strong bond as master and apprentice so to communicate with the Force should be of help... Still you can't do that if he's at the other side of the galaxy or even in the centre of it. No you need to be somewhere close enough where such a technique would work, so we have to find out where he is. Any ideas?!" Qurhon asked sceptikal if Ayanna knew where he indeed would be at this time.

Ayanna Nyx - September 19, 2008 12:15 AM (GMT)
Ayanna laughed slightly, "Well em, that's another thing I forgot to tell you. Kalin gave me this..." She said as she took a comlink from her pocket, "I think he still wanted to be able to keep contact with me, and me with him, so if you want to know where he is then I can send a transmission. Perhaps if I suggest we meet on 'neutral ground', some remote planet where the Empire, Sith or Jedi have no place at all. Somewhere where we can all talk without fear of interruption." She smiled slightly.

Kalin Thalis - September 19, 2008 12:27 AM (GMT)
"Well what are we waiting for then? Let's send that transmission and meet somewhere. A neutral planet, well that depends where he is. It's still safe to go to Coruscant. I've been there undercover more than once for sure. But tell him the truth that I want to meet with him too, cause I want to know his reaction to this. I want to see if he trusts me cause if he refuses to meet up with you because of me, that would surely prove he doesn't... I would understand, but then we will have to work on that. I want to gain his trust, but he'll have to gain mine in return..." Qurhon said determined hoping this would go well and hoping to find out more of the truth and Kalin's intentions.

Ayanna Nyx - September 19, 2008 12:40 AM (GMT)
Ayanna walked away, so she could have a little privacy when contacting Kalin, when she returned, she nodded,

"Well, I sent the message. All we can do now is wait, and hope...." She said with a little smile as the ship sped into hyperspace, "I'll send him the coordinates if he replies, I'm sure he will." She smiled, she couldn't deny that she was happy at the thought of seeing him again, though she tried to hide it from Qurhon.

She looked to her new lightsaber, finding it strange. She had expected something that was similar to An'ya Kuro's, but it was nothing like it. But she preferred it, as it was a reflexion of herself, though she did not know what the style meant about her. Perhaps Kalin would know, as he was better with these things.

Kalin Thalis - September 19, 2008 12:58 AM (GMT)
Kalin immediatley sent a message back cause he wouldn't want Ayanna waiting too long,

Dear Ayanna. I'm glad to hear from you. It hasn't been days since we parted but I already miss you so much, however this is not a good timing. My plans to kill as much Dark Jedi as possible are going well. I know you don't approve these killings, but they are enemies of the Jedi and they will no doubt try to kill them. So I hope the Jedi or at least you can understand and hopefully appreciate what I'm trying to do. To save their lives... I will agree with the meeting between you me and Qurhon, but the meeting will have to be brief. I can't stay too long away from Korriban or I'll become a suspect in the murders too... Meet me in the Outlander Club in the Old district. I will send you a message when I arrive there. I will be waiting for you there, my love...

Ayanna Nyx - September 19, 2008 01:01 AM (GMT)
Ayanna looked to Qurhon, "He'll meet us, the Outlander Club he said, if you know that. Though he did say that the meeting would have to be brief.... He's.... He's got a lot on at the moment, he has to keep up appearances with the Sith, and we have to respect that. Whether we agree with it or not." She said carefully as she did not want to give the full details of what Kalin said to her, in case it made Qurhon doubt more about Kalin, and that was the last thing that she wanted at this moment.

Kalin Thalis - September 19, 2008 01:05 AM (GMT)
"You don't have to lie for me, Ayanna. I can see you're trying to hide things he's done. More killing I presume?" Qurhon sighed as he feared another massacre, though he doubted it otherwise he woud surely have felt it. Maybe Kalin had killed a few Jedi, but even that was too much for Qurhon to accept. Nevertheless he agreed to meet him in the hope to reason with him. He brought the ship into outer space, placed in the coordinates and then the ship jumped into hyperspace heading for Coruscant, hoping to unravel more of Kalin's mystery and his 'quest' to find the Chosen One. Qurhon still had a hard time to believe it and even if it was true, his faith wasn't high that the Chosen One could indeed bring balance...
