Emperor Palpatine Surgical Reconstruction Center, during the time of the Galactic Republic crowns one of the tallest buildings on Coruscant, an imposing spire that dominates its particular stretch of the Galactic City, which later became the Imperial City.

It was this gloomy location that served as the site of Darth Vader's rebuilding. The Sith stronghold hides in plain sight with large windows that seems to show that there was nothing to hide. In the Republic Era, it relied on the Jedi's weakness of attacking a hospital and risking the patients inside. It features four landing pads near the top of the structure for emergency cases. The interior is lined with ultra dense walls of neuranium shielding to conceal any radiation leak from the building's reactor. Surrounding this shielding is an exterior shell of durasteel built with armor of a lanthanide and duralium alloy. It is within this facility that Palpatine still performs acts of Sith Alchemy.

As the Air taxi, neared the tower it stopped at one of the four landing pads. The one who wielded the taxi didn't even wait for his payment and tried to escape as fast as possible from this place.

The tower did have a creepy feeling to it. Kalin and Ayanna reached for one of the entrances as it thunder and lightning still struck and the rain still poured heavily. Once inside they continued on the path to get deeper inside. Smoke rose from the vents next to the path. Once inside, several medical droids were working on other patients who also missed limbs, which were replaced by robotic ones. But Kalin insisted that he didn't need the help of a droid. Screams could be heard all over this facility as Kalin tried to construct himself a new arm. Luckily he had all the tool available there.

While Kalin worked carefully on his arm, he concentrated on the crystal that was inserted in his arm. It connected to both his robotic implants as well to his nerves and the crystal lit up as he tried to move his fingers, though it didn't quite function yet in the way he hoped. More screaming echoed through the facility, which was hard to ignore while he continued his work on his arm.

Ayanna raised her eyebrows a few times as she heard the screams and the cries, but for the moment they were none of their concern. She kept herself pretty silent and tried not to disturb Kalin as he worked on his arm. She did however watch with intensity at what he was doing. She found the idea of using a crystal strange, but it was something that could prove very useful for him. She had heard that this was the very place in which Vader had been constructed after his fight on Mustafar with Obi-Wan Kenobi, which certainly gave the area a historical significance, at least for them. When it looked about time to finish, Ayanna finally spoke up,

"So... What have you done Kalin....." She asked as she looked.

"The crystal is working and serves as a stronger guide to use the Force with my arm. Whatever reason I use my arm with, the crystal will only make it stronger. When you have a common prosthetic arm, it only serves as a guide to use the Force, but you can't really feel the Force inside your arm as it is not a living thing. But now that the crystal is connected with my arm aswell as my nerves, it will help me use the Force in different ways. It kinda serves for the mid-chlorians I lost together with arm. Now the crystal will serve as a stronger guide and I could even use it to guide Force Lightning as the crystal protects my arm so that it can't fry me if I try to use it." He explained.

He stood up from where he sat: "I'm really anxious to try this thing out, but common let's leave. I've heard enough screaming for one day."

She laughed, "On that I agree with you!" She said as they both began to leave, "I'm glad you now have it fixed, I didn't like the idea of you without it... Especially because of how it had happened......." She spoke as she stroked her hand against it. She had never seen anything like it before.

Kalin glanced at his arm again and saw how the crystal flickered inside. It was clearly a sign that it was working. He tried a small experiment and performed a small Force push, which only knocked down a few chairs and other material. The crystal kept shining while he used the Force and he even didn't intend to knock the chairs over.

"Well it's clearly working, though I'll have to get used to it. As I said it makes my ability in the Force stronger. At least with this arm, so I have to test how strong I really am when using it."

Looking at the arm it still felt weird, but the nerves that connected with his arms stung when he used the Force. It was maybe a small after effect, but it was only a small price to pay for a unique arm like this.

They left through one of the other landing pads, where a speeder was stalled to leave this place: "We are lucky that this thing is still here. Mostly there is only one speeder, both for flying to and back from the tower. Well nobody's here, so I don't think they'll miss it."

Both stepped inside the speeder and headed away from the working district. Kalin asked Ayanna: "So where do you want to go now?"

She laughed, "Where do I want to go? I thought maybe we had work to do or something..... Or do you have something in mind?" She asked as she looked around at the city. She had never really taken the time to appreciate Coruscant before, it always scared her before. But now that things had changed with her, she saw it as beautiful. though she still greatly preferred planets covered in flora.

Kalin looked back at Ayanna: "What do you mean? I thought you said you had something to do here? Anyway I wouldn't know what I could show you what would spark your interests. Maybe the opera house is something for you, I've heard about this play they are doing. It's a classic they showed when the Clone Wars ended featuring this beautiful vision that captures you, featuring the Mon Calamari. I heard it's quite popular."

She nodded, "Squid Lake.... I've heard of it, but never seen it... Sure we could do that, and the change of attire would be beneficial..... Don't you think it would be dangerous to go to such a public place? If Vader finds out...." She said as she trailed off a bit.

Kalin laughed: "Like he's gonna? Do you think he's maybe watching the play himself right now. Yeah it would be dangerous, cause the Galactic Opera House is probably Vader's favourite place to hang out!" He said sarcastically. "And maybe he likes dancing, so I wouldn't propose going to dancing bars and such. We've got to avoid those too!"

He moved the speeder closer to the senatorial district, but there was not much too see. The senate was a glorious building but it was getting old and nothing had been renewed since the formation of the Empire.

She laughed at what he said about Vader, "You know what I mean Kalin..... I'm not expecting to bump into him but.... What if he finds out somehow..... Wouldn't you get in trouble? You've already had enough trouble on your shoulders recently..... I don't want to make things worse for you...." She said concerned, "And what about the Son of the Suns research, are you still going to continue with that? I want to help you...." She smiled.

"No, I think I know enough now. So I've learned I am a child of the Force, but they are not anomalies. It is only the one who will truly bring balance to the Force, that should be called the 'Son of the Suns', so in a way I'm not. I think carrying the knowledge and the responsibility, doesn't give me the right to bare that title. I don't deserve it...." He said to be humble, though he wished in a way he would be the one to bring balance, but from what he learned he knew he wouldn't. He already knew how he was going to die, which was already too much to know.

She gave a smile, "Well..... Would you have been able to take on the challenge of truly bringing balance? I mean.... Who can? It all seems pretty hopeless.... Although..... Isn't that what the Journal of the Whills said.... That in the time of great despair the Son of the Suns would correct things?..... Perhaps this is the time..... If we are lucky, in our lifetime we will get to see this change.... This other child of the Force who will bring balance..... You could almost see them as your brother.... Or sister...." She smiled.

"Well the previous one was related to me. Maybe the next one will be related to me too!" He laughed, which was kinda ironic as he didn't know his predecessor would also be his successor. "But yeah, I don't see it happening now. More is need than just defeating the Sith. That's not everything what balance is about. This galaxy needs a serious make-over, if you know what I mean? And more is needed than a chosen one to do that."

"Do you have hopes for this rebellion? I've only heard whispers of it... I know that the Imperials brush their attacks off as nothing, but I've heard enough to suspect they do see them as a threat..... Any idea who is leading them? They must be political leaders of some time.... Well that's my estimation.... Would you ever be willing to help them?" She asked.

"Vader has his suspicions. He thinks Senator Bail Organa is involved, though he doesn't have any proof. He also suspects other Senators being involved, probably who are close friends with him. But again there's no proof. Vader has not made many attempts himself to find proof in the first place as he doesn't like politics. We've seen the rebel base ourselves and I wouldn't call that a threat to the Empire.... It's more like a nuisance. Criminals who have to be wiped out."

She smiled a little, "But would you ever help them.... The Son of the Suns may bring balance but I feel they could have a hand in it..... One person can change the face of the galaxy, this is true, but they cannot do it without the help of others.... Palpatine did all of this on his own, this is true... But he had servants and people whom he had bought to help him create this Empire... It had already begun long before it ever was in name..... So perhaps this..... Bringer of peace.... Bringer of balance..... Will use the help of the rebellion to aid him....... But would you assist that? Or would you fight at Vader's side...." She asked, wondering what his opinion on it all would be.

"I don't know. I guess I don't have enough faith in the rebellion. Maybe I don't want the Empire defeated as they do. But I want it changed. I don't want it to be darkened by the actions of the Sith. I don't want war, I want peace for this galaxy. But with a small group like the Rebels, you can't achieve something like that. It would take a miracle for them if they could defeat this Empire. And I don't think they know what's coming. The Death Star I mean... That will be the end of the rebellion, I'm afraid."

"Is it really as devastating as they say it is? I can barely believe the actual size they claim it to be.... Have you ever been there? Seen it with your own eyes?" She asked wondering, "Would you ever consider going to see Bail Organa about it, considering that Vader saw him as a suspect..... What reason does he have to expect him? I always heard he was a very decent man, not the type to cause trouble.... Alderaan is a very peaceful society so would they be willing to go to war to save the galaxy?" She asked him.

"I'm not sure why Vader suspects him. He's becoming more rebellious in the senate itself and doesn't like what the Emperor decides for the Senate. For now it is only a senate in name. But it's the bureaucrats who truly run the show. And no I have never been on the Death Star, but I have seen it. Once I was on training with Vader on the Devastator and there was an urgent matter on the Death Star. Vader ordered me to stay on the Devastator, while he tried to solve it himself. But I saw this technological terror before my own eyes. It was enormous. Almost as big as a moon. It has a huge superlaser cannon, that could destroy an entire planet. So no, the Rebellion has no chance once the construction is completed..."

She didn't say anything as she found the thought of it rather disturbing. She had hopes for the rebellion, but by the sounds of it, they were going to be extinguished and very soon. As they nearer the center, Ayanna finally found herself the opportunity to get herself new garments. The ones she left with were similar to the ones she had had before, but instead of the jet black, they were a light beige in colour, suiting more with her colouring. The only problem was that it made her look more like a Jedi than that of a Dark Jedi. But she hoped that the Masters and Darth Vader would not be so narrow minded to put it all down to what she wore. She spun around a little as she showed him the new her, "Like me only in colour I guess huh?" She laughed a little before looking back once again to Kalin's arm. She found it strange but also impressive, "What do you think Lord Vader will think of that modification.... Will he approve?" She asked.

Kalin sighed as the light colours did worry him. She did look like a Jedi, but the again he thought it was stupid to judge someone their allegiance by the colour of clothes they wear. Did it really that much. You are a 'Dark' Sider, so you must wear 'Dark' clothes. Kalin didn't care if his armour and clothes were black. Somehow it did feel good to him and he wore the leather and the armour more for protection rather than showing off what attire he possessed, "Are you sure, you don't want to try something a little darker, like a dark brownish style of clothes maybe." He said worried, but he knew it were only worries for such a silly matter, but that's not how others thought about it.

She bit on her lip for a moment as she thought, "I have an idea, wait a moment...." She came back after half an hour, wearing a beautiful purple, tight fitted robe, which like her previous one revealed her stomach. It was still a light colour but purple was naturally darker, and matched with her lightsaber which she wore at her side. She walked up to him as she tried to determune his opinion on it, "Well... Is this better?" She said smiling?

"Well I don't like purple very much, but it's much better than the previous one, that's for sure. And I think narrow minded Dark Jedi won't look at you with such suspicious eyes if you wore something like this. But with the beige you would surely be looked down upon and they wouldn't trust you for sure. But then again they never trusted the both of us to begin with. We are more on our own, not working for the academy, but for Vader himself. And maybe I prefer it that way, since the Academy is filled with Arrogant, ignorant narrow-minded imbeciles!"

"Well I don't feel that I work for Vader, you do, but I work for you..." She laughed, "Hmm, never thought of it that way before now actually.... Should I start calling you 'boss'? Or should I just stick with Master?...." She laughed again as they began to make their way further into the city.

"'Master' will do..." He said sarcastically and laughed, "No, I prefer you wouldn't call me by any titles. They already don't like it in the academy that you call me by my name, but what does it matter, it's only a title. I think the fact we call ourselves by our own names, makes our bond stronger as master and apprentice. I think that we can consider ourselves more equal that way, which strengthens the bond and makes us learn from each other, rather than you only learning from me."

Kalin turned the speeder around back to Westport.

"Well I guess we'll return to the Thranta, unless you had something else in mind?"

"Well um.... Perhaps we could see a show after all..... I mean.... The one you mentioned? Unless it's not your thing of course...." She said a little embarassed. A part of her wanted to do something normal for a change, especially with him. So that they could do something away from work and pretend that they were normal citizens of the galaxy.

"Well theater isn't really my thing, but I like art. And they say that it is visually spectacular. Okay let me just turn this thing around and I'll get us back to the Senatorial district."

Kalin turned the speeder around to head for the Galactic Opera house. In a way he did look forward to this as it would be something totally new for him. He was just a little concerned about the security there.

"If anyone asks, like a Imperial guard, just tell you we're undercover in the service of Darth Vader. We're on a mission. They can't know we're heading there just to amuse ourselves."

They continued to make their way to the lab, she dreaded what she would find there but Kalin had prepared her enough for the worst.

"What are we going to do once we have him? Mara Jade is still back at the Thranta.... And, I don't know about you, but I'm not overly keen to have her join us with this... She'd sell her own mother if she thought she could get something out of it.... She was trying to be all pally with me, well didn't work..." She said annoyed to even think about her.

As they entered the building she could hear Li screaming which sent chills through her body, though she was preparing herself for worse yet to come.

"I think I might have a solution with Mara, and that's just by simply telling the truth to Vader. He will never be able to remove her as the Emperor's hand, but if I tell him about the seduction she tried on me, he'll definately remove her from us."

Inside the tower it gave Ayanna and Kalin the creeps. You could hear the screaming from the ones they experimented on. But you could hear the howling of Li above it as it sounded so awkward.

"I suggest you hold your lightsaber ready. There will only be droids here, so no problem taking those out, but don't forget the surveillance cameras, we have to remove those first, before we can try to infiltrate this place..."

Ayanna cringed to hear Li screaming. She tried to use a skill she had recenetly learned. Kalin had taught her to lift things up, but she could use that for another purpose. She saw the cameras outside the chamber, and stretching out her hand she crushed them using the Force before they finally made it into the chamber itself. She let Kalin deal with the droids while she dealt with the security. She saw Li laying on a table, with needles, tubes inside him. They had cut sections of his chest opened, and were able to keep it that way with lasers. Ayanna immediately broke the machine, watching as his skin healed itself. He looked to her, though barely conscious,

"Wh...... What are you.... Doing?...." He asked with a weakened voice.

"I'm not sure.... Just cooperate please...." She said as she tried to help him get to his feet, though she was worried that he would try something.

Kalin kept his lightsaber close to Li's face. "I am helping Ayanna to let you escape. But if you make one suspicious move, I'll kill you without hesitation, you got that?!" Kalin tried to act all poweful, so that he would sound more threatening, cause he was afraid something would go wrong with Li. That he would try something to trick them both.

"Okay let's get out of here. We've been here too long and personally I can't stand that screaming."

Li had difficulty with running after everything they had done with him. Kalin had to take care of more droids, old battle droids which blocked the exit. They fired back but Kalin didn't think it was difficult to deflect the bolts. Back outside they took the air taxi to get back to the landing platforms again of the Imperial Palace.
