Title: Trails of the Jedi
Ayanna Nyx - January 23, 2008 10:59 AM (GMT)
Some hours passed until Solon walked back to meet with the padawans. He felt a little strange, to have gone from a life of solitude to this was a big step, but it was progress.
"I have been speaking with Lamya..... Concerning your progressions...... Usually, it would take many years for someone to rise to the level of Jedi Knights, without trials, teachings..... But we do not live in normal times..... Those days are gone, and the situation for the Jedi is weakened...... However, once we have completed our business on Naboo, you will all be officially Jedi Knights...... This does not mean that your training ends..... You will still have more to face on Tatooine...... And perhaps have more trials to face......"

Zen was looking down on the lightsaber, Alia had given him a little bit of help and he had got underway with his lightsaber. Master Solon spoke to them and he carried on, he had put in the Orange crystal and the clear crystal he had picked up on Dantooine.
He moved a few parts of the lightsabers interior, making way for his tools so he could tune a few pieces to his preffered settings.
He had altered the hit allot from its original training clan saber style, It was now longer and actually looked a little brutal for Zen's nature. It had a look to it that would catch any ones eye, the emitter was a golden colour, the grip had a tint of blue in it and the rest of the lightsaber hilt looked Silver with little hints of gold.
He smiled as Solon mentioned them being Jedi knights, though he did not entirely agree they where all ready, he felt Alia deserved it for what she had been through, But he felt that himself and Taves needed more time.
He could not wait for Naboo, it was much like Ithor and would remind him of the forests he used to travel to calm his temper.
He also looked very forward to Tatooine and the 'Negotiator', he wondered who this being was and whether he would be another Jedi, What ever was to come e sensed it would hold many trials for him.
Taves Sarfell - January 23, 2008 10:45 PM (GMT)
Taves dug into the pouch he had looking for the two crystals that had stuck out to him in the cave. He went through green after green, but he could tell that none of them were the crystals he was looking for. Finally Taves stuck his hand in the bottom, but his heart sunk as he did. He pulled out what was in his hands, and his suspicions were confirmed. The blue and green crystals which he had found by what seemed to be the Will of the Force had shattered. All that remained of them now was a handful of shards.
He looked at them mournfully, but then noticed something. A group of shards seemed to fit together to make what appeared to be one crystal. Taves felt this as a sort of taunt. The only way he could put these together would be to find a furnace, or throw them in the trail of the ships engines. Neither seemed to be a good prospect. He reached out with the Force and picked up the shards so they appeared as a single crystal in front of his face. "If only I could find a way" he said. Suddenly he felt a heat emit from the shards. It was strange, the air around them became hot, and the shards themselves began to glow white. Taves closed his eyes and there was a small flash of light. He opened his eyes. In front of his brow, which now was sweating a bit, floated a perfect turquoise crystal.
He grabbed it from where it was. It was perfectly cool, as if it had been grown into its current state. "How did I do that?" Taves thought to himself. He decided after a minute or so to stop pondering this.
He then started to wonder how he could tie this weapon to him. Make it a sort of part of himself. The idea came to him, though it took awhile. He took some pieces from his Mandalorian armor and constructed it into a hilt. He then took the emitter device from one of his pistols and attached it to the front to perform the same action for his saber. When he was done he saw before him a black saber with a green activation switch and a silver emitter. He took it up and activated it. He was pleased with the turquoise glow the weapon gave off. He deactivated his new friend and attached it to his belt.
"Well, I'm set" he said. "All that remains is the power to wield it. He looked over at Zen, admiring the craftsmanship he had applied to his own weapon. "Not bad" he commented.
Olly2007 - January 23, 2008 11:04 PM (GMT)
He just finished tuning the saber, when Taves crystal put itself back together, Taves was indeed strong in the force, whether he knew it or not.
He quickly sealed his lightsaber and held it in his hand. He stood as Taves said, 'not bad', he nodded, "Thank you my fellow padawan", he said as he ignited the lightsaber to reveal a lush orange glow, the clear crystal made it more intense, it felt powerful, it would take him time to learn how to use it properly, but he would make it part of him.
"So Jedi knights huh?" He grinned at Taves.
Taves Sarfell - January 23, 2008 11:17 PM (GMT)
Taves grinned at Zen. "Jedi Knights" he said. Taves had never had a brother before, but this seemed like the closest thing he had had before. Besides they were brothers in the Force.
Taves wondered how good his fellow apprentice's skills were. He reached out in the Force and brought up a few objects from around the ship. He brought them all around so that they would all float around him. "I wonder" he said playfully to Zen. "How good are you with that thing?" He reached out and made the objects start to spin in a circular orbit above his head. "I'm sure these aren't as fast as a blaster bolts would be, but..." He reached out and caused a cup to fly toward Zen. Taves hadn't seen him wield a lightsaber yet, but it would be interesting to find out how well he did.
Olly2007 - January 23, 2008 11:27 PM (GMT)
The cup came towards him at a faster speed than he would of thought, he ducked quickly and slashed upwards with his saber, cutting the cup neatly in two. He had concentrated the force to help him use his healing powers, he used the technique to channel the force in to his combat.
Another cup came at him and he again slashed it into pieces, then an empty metal container, he moved swiftly, slicing twice and cutting the box into three. Apparently channeling the force had been a good idea.
He deactivated his lightsaber and then used the force to life a few things, "your turn" He smiled.
Taves Sarfell - January 23, 2008 11:42 PM (GMT)
Taves took his saber from his belt. He activated it and stood ready for the objects. Zen sent a cup flying toward Taves. It was faster than Taves had expected. He tried to swing for it, but he missed and it hit him in the chest, knocking the wind out of him. Worse. he overshot the slice and grazed himself with his blade. It stung badly, but he concealed the pain and waited for the next one. He missed that one as well. He could tell that Zen was enjoying this just a little bit.
He concentrated. "Feel, don't think" he said to himself. Another cup came toward him. He watched as it approached. As it came closer he saw that its approach seemed to slow. Everything around him began to slow down. He moved to come at it. He saw that his speed hadn't slowed at all. As the cup approached he made a slice at it. It went right down the middle, cutting the cup like butter. After the contact with the cup the world seemed to speed up back to normal speed. Taves was a bit dizzy and fatigued from this action. It caused him to stumble on the leg he had burnt earlier. He landed with one knee on the ground.
Olly2007 - January 23, 2008 11:45 PM (GMT)
Zen grabbed his fellow padawan, he put out his hand as if to direct where the he wanted the force, He began to heal Tave's leg. "You ok?" he asked.
It took about 10 seconds for the leg to heal.
"Im sorry, i may of got carried away".
Taves Sarfell - January 24, 2008 12:13 AM (GMT)
Taves felt the healing power Zen applied to his leg. "Thank you" he said "It isn't your fault. I started it in the first place. It was a good job, especially if that was you first time to use that power. Though you could have fooled me."
Taves sat down on the floor and rubbed his leg where it had been healed. "That's a handy power you used back there on my leg. Wherever you learned it I gotta do that too." Taves knew that he'd definitely have an outlet for his competitive nature during his time with Zen. He looked over at the ship's booth like table where Alia had left what appeared to be two training lightsabers. Taves reached out in the Force, and the two lightsabers flew into his hands. He got up and looked at Zen. "As long as you're not tired of healing me and Alia is at the controls with our masters would you do me the honor?" He said, throwing a saber at Zen.
Olly2007 - January 24, 2008 09:46 PM (GMT)
"The healing powers? I'm training to be a Jedi healer, one of the less common Jedi classes but it is my desired path".
He watched the Training sabers fly into the air, one into Tave's hand the other floated in front of him until he took it, "You have amazing skill in controlling objects". He smiled, "I humbly accept your offer". his smile turned into a grin.
He ignited the saber, its Blue glow shone brightly.
Taves Sarfell - January 25, 2008 02:58 AM (GMT)
Taves smiled at Zen's agreement. He ignited the remaining saber and stood at the ready stance he had been taught in blade combat back on Alderaan.
He decided since they were only training sabers he would be a bit more bold in his technique. He advanced on Zen and excecuted a flurry of blows to see what Zen's saber skills were like. To Taves surprise they seemed to be equal if not better than his ability to block projectiles. Taves was entertained now.
He withdrew for a brief moment to reassess his strategy. He decided that since he had destoryed quite enough of their cups he would try to refrain from hurling them at Zen as a distraction. His proficiency with a lightsaber he saw, though the weapon was similar to a sword was not quite even with his blade skills, due to its lack of balance which a sword had. Thus he probably would not be as of yet good enough with a saber to out fight Zen. He thought back to his experience with the cup earlier. He thought of how he had slowed the flow of time to help him better make contact with his objective. He hadn't perfected the execution of that technique yet, but it was worth a try.
He concentrated, feeling the movement of the world around him, and tried to bring it into a slower focus. With a little difficulty he noticed the movement of the things around him began to slow. The speed of Zen's breathing was the most noticeable. Once he believed he had reached a state of focus that he could keep it up for a few seconds he rushed at Zen.
Olly2007 - January 25, 2008 09:07 PM (GMT)
Zen was suddenly over come by a burst of speed from Taves, he took multiple hits but made sure he got at least one back, his Healing powers let him take the sharp bursts of pain quickly, making him ready to fight only a second or two later. He was amazed at how Taves did that, he had only used his other mastered force techniques to sneak into the Jedi temple, now was time for action.
He summoned the force trying herd to concentrate on his speed, he seemed to speed up while everything around him went slow, he was able to make a few hits on Taves but Taves was using either the same or a similar technique and he took hits too.

Lamya watched as the pupils trained, she was impressed but knew that they still had a lot to go. Their promotions to the rank of Jedi Knights was indeed premature, but they had little choice concerning the times they lived in. They needed numbers to secure their destiny.
"Well done, you are all doing very well..... But you are not Jedi yet..... There is something that Solon and I have spoken about and, well we think it will be beneficial to your training....... Taves, Zen..... We want both of you to find a way to sneak into Theed Palace and speak with the Queen...... Now we are not criminals, do not hurt anyone.... Silence if necessary..... But if you make yourselves as brutes, the Jedi will be more feared than they already are..... We want you to find out from the Queen if she is in contact, or knows the whereabouts of any Jedi...... We heard rumours that she, just as her predecessor, helped many..... But we cannot be sure, we know that she is also very much in the pockets of the Empire, so you must be careful at all costs...... If she gives you any details, take them and try to leave the palace as quickly and quietly as possible....... Her word may not be trustworthy, so if you have the chance to check any of the Terminals in the Queen's own possession, then please do..... We know that she has archives of secret information there..... It very well could help us..... We must track down as many of our friends as we can.......... Which will lead you onto another step....."
Alia spoke up, "Hey, why are they both going and I'm not!"
"You will have something else to do..... I want you to go to Otah Gunga...... Although the Gungans are now at peace with the Naboo, it is still a secretive place where very few people go..... I want you to investigate for any Jedi who may have gone through there at some point...." Lamya spoke.
"Pfff, Oh great..... Gungans...." Alia spoke in a moody voice.
Lamya looked back to the two padawans, "When you have found out the information you need, you must find out more concerning Pooja Naberrie, not necessarily from herself as she is likely to be on Coruscant, but we have reason to believe that she has connections to Bail Organa, and ultimately it is he we need to meet up with..... But he keeps his whereabouts relatively unknown...... He appears to be mostly on Alderaan, but he does travel about a great deal..... And we know why.... Because he is the founder and leader of the Rebel Alliance...... Once we have acquired the information we need, and a stronger group..... We will offer to help Organa..... In his struggle against the Empire....."
She stared to them, "Do you have any questions?"
OOC: I'm setting up that you both work together alone with this simply because me and Kalin are going on holiday for two weeks, so I don't want you both to be bored waiting around for whenever I get the chance to be online. So I've spoken with Amelia, and she'll help you on Naboo, and you can both work together on missions. Now you will not run into any Jedi, but you can find out information about them, and if you wish, create other little missions on Naboo. But at least then you will not have to wait around for when I can assist you. Be creative, and it will also make your promotions to Jedi Knights more believable based on your actions :)
Taves Sarfell - January 29, 2008 04:05 AM (GMT)
Taves was a slight bit taken aback by this new mission. He'd expected despite the fact that they were officially Jedi Knights that they would be taking it a bit slower. However he usually worked better in trial by fire situations.
Sneaking into the Theed Palace would definitely be a challenge. One that would make use of all of his skills in the Force and to an extent outside of them. Of course from the point of view that Taves looked at it he relied on the Force for his daily strength.
"I'm ready the night we land on Naboo. How about you Zen? Feeling up to it?" Taves hoped Zen was at least as ready as he himself felt.
Olly2007 - January 29, 2008 01:57 PM (GMT)
"I guess so". He took his lightsaber from his belt and ignited it, staring at it, not only to let Taves know he was ready, but to convince himself he was ready.
He felt his new lightsaber was part of him, he actually feared loosing it.
He nodded to Taves, who nodded back. He then disengaged the lightsaber.
He decided he would find out how long of the trip they had left. As he was just about to walk into the cockpit he felt the ship shudder, they had come from hyperspace.
Solon was piloting, "We're here".
Zen looked out of the cockpit, he could see the lush green of Naboo, unfortunately it was spoiled by the Imperial Victory class star destroyer in orbit.
Great... he thought.
He walked back out to the area he had been training with Taves, the other three where stood together, "We've arrived" Zen said.
"Prepare yourselves", Lamya told them, as she walked away to the cockpit.
