Title: The old house
lewy - November 12, 2007 09:49 PM (GMT)
This is where the assassin Lorlite spend her nights between her missions.
This is also most likely the place Amaya will live for quite a while...
Jin-ho - November 12, 2007 10:09 PM (GMT)
[Bidding for Amaya]Amaya looked around the area, but failed to recognise where she was. Not that it mattered much, anyway, given that she had no intentions of trying to escape as long as her current 'owner' still had a few skills she considered useful to learn. She hadn't talked much on the way there, hardly even spoke knowing that if the woman's line of work was as covert as she had made it sound, she'd more than likely not discuss it in public. Once there however, she spoke what was on her mind, knowing she wouldn't have been brought to the mansion if there was a chance it was bugged.
- "I've been wondering something... You a Near-Human, or a halfblood? We're both at least a head taller than any 'pure' humans i've seen, and women generally tend to be shorter."
She crossed her arms, the two black runed bracelets of mandalorian steel tinking together as she did so. Now that she felt the two of them were on 'secure ground', might as well start exchanging questions now that her host was still in a talkative mood.
lewy - November 12, 2007 10:36 PM (GMT)
"I have often experienced that, particulary on Ryloth, a woman can not be safe. Particulary Ryloth because people here are used to... trading with women. Therefore..."
She slung her cloak off. Between her feet and the ground was several inches of air. On her back was a thin jetpack.
"Lorlite's Ryloth survival kit, I call it," she said and grinned.
"Most men don't have balls enough to take on a woman that is a head taller than them!" She grinned, and shut it off, and landed silently on the floor.
Now she was one head and a half smaller than Amaya.
"Welcome to my home. Welcome to my world. I am looking forward to a quiet day today. Tomorrow I have an... appointment, though.
Would you like to come with me and see how I do it?" She smiled openly. She was, after all, a nice person apart from being an assassin...
Jin-ho - November 12, 2007 10:43 PM (GMT)
Amaya smirked as she noticed the thin jetpack on the woman's back. From what she could gather, it had to have pretty advanced heat-shielding to keep from lighting her own cloak on fire, which she supposed wouldn't have been much of a problem for someone in her line of work. She considered the offer though, even as she mentally scolded herself from not noticing the rather odd looking foot movement at the time.
- "Hmm... Possibly, it depends on what your style is too much. You can understand i'm somewhat... reluctant to end up as a meat shield just yet."
lewy - November 12, 2007 11:07 PM (GMT)
"I can assure you that was not what I meant for you to end up like. 5 500 for a meat shield is a bit to much when you can just grab one off the street..." ^^;
She grinned.
"My.. methods.. THey may seem old fashion. But they work. I have only a small blaster, with the best aim money could get me.
Sheer fact. But I prefer to use knives. My most treasured item is a laser knife, though... Has never failed me. Tomorrow will be a standard cantina kill. Do you know what that might mean?"
It seemed training had already begun...
Jin-ho - November 12, 2007 11:27 PM (GMT)
Amaya tilted her head slightly, trrying to figure out what it would be that Lorlite would have planned out. And, more importantly, where she'd be factoring in in this. To her knowledge, assassins rarely did something they didn't plan out beforehand, making buying her as a slave a bit too convenient for comfort. Still, that didn't prevent her from giving her opinion on the mission.
- "Hmm... Cantinas only have one or two exits, and if someone needs to hire you to do it he'll have a few friends set to block the exits. Unless we spring up a distraction... Bar brawl?"
She looked at the weapons again. The best aim in the world wouldn't help her on anything beyond medium range for the small blaster, which meant getting close even disregarding the laser beam itself. A bar brawl was perfect in keeping everyone occupied long enough for the woman's knives to sink in unnoticed.
lewy - November 12, 2007 11:40 PM (GMT)
"Yes. That is a common solution. There are also a few other options, but the brawl usually succeed. However, some unexperienced assassins have managed to get killed in the brawl.. Before or after the target is down..." She almost laughed, but managed not to.
"Another way is to hide a gun under your cloak, aim it sidewise, get a clear shot and... But I do not like that way. It is to.. Well, I prefer personal kills." She smiled almost absentmindedly.
She lived to kill.
"One way I like... Seduce and kill. Seduce tha target, lead him into a room in the cantina, get some intimacy... That's where my stick proves better than his..." She grinned a sadistic grin.
"So.. What do you think? Which way would suit you best? Or, more exactly, which one will you prefer to watch me undertake?"
(OOC: Do we smell a traumatic experience with men in her youth? Dan-dan-DAAAAN!!)
Jin-ho - November 12, 2007 11:58 PM (GMT)
- "If you can afford to spend over five thousand Creds on a slave, that makes you either a bored rich girl or... Well, let's just say i don't think you're a bored rich girl."
While seduction wasn't really her thing, she had spent her teenage years fending off slavers in varying states of intoxication. Add to that her father had taught her about unarmed combat, and that made her more than capable of handling herself in a brawl. This wouldn't be the first fight she'd gotten herself into, far from it.
- "Depends. In a seedy bar, a brawl can spread like wildfire. If the place is more classy, your way would be better."
She looked at Lorlite again, trying to probe her face to a reaction on what she said. She knew she was being tested here, to see if she'd make a good addition to a team, or rather the one doing menial tasks waiting for her to return. It was hard to read Amaya's thoughts from the smirk on her face, her eyes weighing Lorlite in her mind as much as she suspected the girl to weigh her.
lewy - November 15, 2007 07:52 PM (GMT)
Lorlite nodded thoughtfully.
"Yes. Good. You seem to start to grasp the basic. It is essential to know what will be best in what situation."
And, almost as an afterthought, she added:
"Oh, and there is another way. You could always just slip some poison into his drink, but... That's no fun, is it?"
She grinned, a nasty, or perhaps gleeful grin.
"If I say this is a half-way decent, half-way shabby place... Then what do you suggest?"
Jin-ho - November 15, 2007 10:29 PM (GMT)
Amaya thought for a moment. Lorlite had used 'decent' rather than 'classy', which meant that it was pretty much an average dive for the 'lower working classes', so to speak. Still, for her to say what would be the best course of action was pretty much difficult, given that she had no clue about the lay of the land, what the interior of the tavern looked like, if the patrons were likely to be at least partially intoxicated and/or durable so they'd last longer than two punches... And on whether or not Lorlite had visited that place more often.
- "Meh, too many variables. I don't know a thing about the place save for what you've told me, but if i can start a fight i suppose it'll work just as well. Better to stick with your plans until i become more familiar with your line of work."
lewy - November 16, 2007 12:22 AM (GMT)
Lorlite nodded.
"You know, I am quite exited myself. I haven't really been to that place once... But in any case," she continued and grinned, "you seem to grasp the basic tactics. Tomorrow you will see how it's done.
She smiled, and yawned.
"If you will excuse me, I would like some sleep now. Your room is upstairs, right to the left of mine. Goodnight."
Not common with curtesies and that stuff, Lorlite simply rose and went.
There would be no long chit-chat now, just going to bed. If there were any questions they had to wait till the morning.
Tomorrow could prove a day far more exiting!
Jin-ho - November 17, 2007 03:17 AM (GMT)
Amaya simply nodded. There'd be plenty of opportunities to find out what kind of skills she could pick up from being around Lorlite in the morning. For now, however, sleep sounded like a good alternative, given that she'd be able to get a much better image of the surrounding area in daylight. She also made a mental note to suggest heading over to the actual tavern, knowing the kind of terrain they'd be up against would only prove to be in their benefits, given that getting themselves cornered into a dead end would very well be the worst that could happen.
lewy - November 21, 2007 08:44 PM (GMT)
When Amaya woke up, Lorlite had already made breakfast, and enjoyed it in silence. She just nodded to Amaya to sit down and eat with her.
Lorlite finally broke the silence.
"Good morning, Ama. Slept well? Good. We have an interesting day ahead. You may want to "scout" the bar while I make some... arrangements."
It was no question, yet neither an order. The only unspoken order was the tone, the "don't ask" tone in which she said "arrangements".
She smiled, and yawned slightly, before watching her boiled egg as a snake watches a mouse...
Jin-ho - December 2, 2007 05:07 PM (GMT)
Amaya simply nodded, stretching some muscles in her shoulder as she continued to wake up. She had some alterations planned to the room she was sleeping in, but didn't intend to bother Lorlite with her requests. She didn't need the woman's help to rearrange her room, and asking her to would in her eyes have been an insult to the both of them.
- "Before i do anything though, i'll be needing a map of the city. Just finding the bar will do me little good if i don't know my way around the area first."
Taking a bite from her toast, she looked over at the other woman. whether she'd have a map of the city in the house somewhere, or she'd know how to get her hands on one didn't really matter to the half-Twi'lek, what counted were the results either way.
lewy - December 2, 2007 05:14 PM (GMT)
Lorlite nodded to herself.
"I think I have a map somewhere... Just a moment."
After a while she returned with a holomap. She opened it, and pressed a few more buttons before she handed it to Amaya.
"Here you go, a map over Lessu. The bar is marked, the red building there." She pointed at a building on the map that was displayed as red. Beneath it, with small, small letters it said: "The Starcrosser Bar".
Jin-ho - December 2, 2007 05:32 PM (GMT)
Amaya moved her chair to get a better view of the holomap. Though it would have been impossible to mistake the red dot for anything BUT their target location, she focused her attention to the house they were currently in, and the area surrounding both where they were as well as the bar's location.
- "Mind if i borrow this for a while? I'm going to play tourist for a bit, get a feel for the area."
Possibly even get some of the things i wanted to install, she mentally added. Still, in order to do that, she'd need money, and the slavers amongst which she was raised weren't really the kind of people handing out money to slaves. If Lorlite would give her money, it'd be her call. If not... She'd just have to get her hands on some through other channels.
lewy - December 2, 2007 07:17 PM (GMT)
"Well, I shall need to prepare a bit on beforehand, myself. I know my way around, so... Sure, just take the map. Enjoy yourself."
She suddenly frowned at her.
"Was there... anything else..?"
Jin-ho - December 2, 2007 08:58 PM (GMT)
Amaya shrugged, not really needing anything else. Sure, money would have made things more comfortable, but after spending the vast majority of her life doing without it she wasn't about to give it much thought now anyway.
- "Not really. Got a spare coat like you wore at the auction though? That looked about my size, and keep people from noticing the slave girl outfit i was wearing when you bought me."
Her tone was as casual as her manner when she talked about her 'purchase'. It really didn't matter either way to her, she'd find her ways to get what she wanted to do one way or another anyway. The coat looked way too large for Lorlite though, and she'd be unlikely to drag it along unless she'd be wearing it as a disguise anyway.
lewy - December 2, 2007 09:05 PM (GMT)
Lorlite laughed softly.
"No, I'm afraid not. Look, take mine, so that we avoid unpleasant situations."
She left for a few moments, before returning and handing ovet the coat.
"I'll use one at my own size this time," she smiled.
"We should in any case, perhaps soon buy you a new set of clothes, and such... It seems we should go shopping," she giggled.
In truth, she had not had someone to speak with for years, which was the main reason she had bought a slave in the first place.
Jin-ho - December 2, 2007 09:53 PM (GMT)
Amaya simply took the coat with a friendly nod, trying it on. Much as she had guessed, it was roughly her size, and the long sleeves managed to cover her bracers as well. After making sure her lekku were freed from the material, she buttoned up the coat before moving to clear the table. The faster she got used to wearing it, the better.
The thought of going shopping amused her though. While it had been her intention to buy something less conspicuous -- especially concerning Lorlite's line of work -- she hadn't counted on the woman herself coming with the offer. Perhaps, if everything went well, she could even persuade her to buy some of the things she needed for her workout sessions.
lewy - February 22, 2008 06:23 PM (GMT)
"Well, ready to go, then?" Lorlite smiled, and whirled her cloak about her. She wouldn't need her funky, thin, expensive jetpack now, with the "tower" Ama to protect her.
As Ama nodded, they headed off, to the market.
(Sorry about this taking so long time lol But I'm back in action now! :D )
