Title: Amelia and Asané's Mission

Ayanna Nyx - November 7, 2007 03:03 PM (GMT)
They began to walk through the darkened jungles of the Bounty Hunter planet, the trees were alive with sounds and eyes watching them. It was enough to keep Asané unsettled, she kept her vale on the whole time, there's was no clue as to when they could be found.

"Right, keep your ears well and truly opened...... Only shoot if you know you are going to be attacked by a creature..... Or another person..... If someone approaches us but does not seem to be threatening, wait for a moment..... Then we'll judge the situation....... It's going to be a good few hours before we get there..... It's not ideal, especially for the way back...... But probably we'll be running back......"

"Yeah, I'm not too good with directions," Amelia muttered, sticking close to Asane so she didn't have to raise her voice very much. "Lets just hope we don't have to run...my legs have the audacity to carry me in completely the wrong direction when they travel at speed." She couldn't help but laugh then, suddenly reminded of one time during her childhood.

"I remember once, when I was a kid...must have been five, possibly six...I was racing my brother along the lake and for some reason, I tripped, did a kind of semi-circle and ran straight down the bank into the water!"

Despite her previous nerves and unsettling feelings about this mission, that one thought had been enough to calm her for now...and she actually found herself chuckling under the veil. Looking to Asane, however, it was impossible to tell if her friend shared this amusement.

Asané was smiling also underneath her veil. She found it refreshing, despite their situation to speak of something that brought them back to a feeling of normality.

"Oh you always underestimate yourself.... You're the Queen's decoy remember.... That stands for something!....."

They continued to walk through the wet jungles of Mandalore. It was not the most inviting environment for either of them. After a good hour's walk, finally, they came to the Mandalorian camp.

"There it is....." Asané spoke as she hid behind the trees for the moment. As they watched, it seemed that there were no guards at the entrance for just now. Which would be beneficial.

"Come.... This is our chance! Walk with confidence..... And if someone looks you in the eye, you just stare right back... If you look away, they'll know we're impostors, then that's it! The game's up....... You see over there? At the other side" of the camp.... That's our destination.... In there we should find a terminal, it shouldn't be too difficult to hack into it.... I hope at least..... Now, we have to keep pretty quiet about all this as we walk in..... We're going to talk about...... 'Realistic' things.... You'll see what I mean... I'll start it and we'll continue the conversation until we get into that part of the camp...... Now, if anything happens to me before we get there.... Run! Get out of here! If you can, get to that terminal first, but if you don't see chance of success then flee...... We have to search for your name or your family's name..... Then perhaps we will understand more of what is going on with that bounty hunter who came to your home and attacked you....." Asané took a deep breath before nodding to Amelia to follow her.

As they reached the entrance, Asané started to talk, "So what was your last job? I had a run in with some of those blasted space pirates on my way back from Ord Mantell, if it wasn't for those torpedoes I got from Black Sun, I'd have been a gonner!" She said, playing along with the bounty hunter act as they began to ease their way over to where the terminal would be.

Amelia was amazed at how convincing Asane sounded. If she hadn't known better, she'd easily have mistaken the other woman for the bounty hunter scum that they were pretending to be.

Wracking her brains frantically as they walked, whilst nodding her head and pretending she was nodding in agreement with what Asane had just said, Amelia finally came up with something that she hoped would sound ok and not blow their cover.

"Huh, you're lucky then...those bloody space miners ruined my last job...warned the bounty I was on me way to get 'em and they scarpered...luckily I managed to pick up their trail again and soon got em, but it was a darn site more difficult than it shoulda been!"

Hoping and praying that she hadn't just ruined their chances of success, Amelia looked to Asane again, silently pleading with her friend for some sort of sign that she was doing alright.

A instructor approached the duo. Female Bounty Hunters were a rare sight, so he got suspicious and wanted to hear them out before they could just set foot wherever they wanted in the camp. He stood before them with his helmet on, which hid his expression.

"So you two are bounty hunters huh... What were your last missions... We want to make sure everything goes well here in this camp... We can't tolerate failure so if you succeeded there's nothing to be afraid.... If not.... Then there's trouble...."

Asané took the first step to answer the instructor, "Well my last mission was on Ord Mantell..... I don't know about her though, I just met up with her in these blasted jungles...." She said with a rough voice, though inside she was afraid at where this would lead.

"Well, follow me to the mainframe..... If your data checks out..... You can proceed where ever you want.... Follow me...." The Mandalorian turned around heading for the mainframe where every bit of information was stored.

Asané looked to Amelia as they began to follow him, they were not sure how this was going to go. It was most likely that they were going to be found out, but she had to take that chance, both of them did. If they ran now, they would probably never make it anyway, and then the mission would have been completely pointless.

They made it to the mainframe and the Mandalorian checked out which last missions on Ord Mantell were.

"What was your name again?...."

Asané gulped a little but decided to reply with a confident voice, "Syrian Luma......"

The Mandalorian typed in the name, but there was no record of her at all. However, he hid his suspicions and acted that everything had checked out.

"Alright..... That seems to check out...." The Mandalorian then headed to the entrance but before Asané and Amelia could leave, the blast doors shut down before them, trapping them.

"Don't try anything foolish!! There's no way of escaping! And don't bother touching the mainframe! Even if you suceed to hack it, we always have a back up file.... So damaging it would be pointless...." He spoke through a comlink that was lying on the desk of the mainframe. Then his voice could not be heard any more, which probably meant he was getting back up.

Asané quickly jumped into action, "Right...." She started typing into the mainframe, looking to see if she could find Amelia's family name, "Here..... It's your surnname but nothing else is listed..... It doesn't say specifically you..... But it does imply your family....... I can't seem to see any other details here, it must be a fairly secret matter...... I can't erase it..... Cause if we do, they will have the back up as he said, and then they may be able to track you back to Naboo...... Get your blaster ready..... And aim to kill...... No matter who comes back!" She said as she stood with the blaster in her hands, waiting for the blast doors to reopen.

After a few minutes, the Mandalorian had returned with a few men at his side, they were armed to the teeth. The blast doors opened, and Asané and Amelia immediately started firing their weapons. The Mandalorians in surprise shot in all directions, but with no luck. The smoke of the blaster shots blocked their visors.

"Find them!!!! They can't leave this camp alive!!!!"

The Mandalorians turned around and ran in all directions where the duo could have possibly escaped from the camp. Asané and Amelia ran as fast as they could to the entrance, shooting at any who came in their way. The Mandalorians managed to dodge their attacks. Then, fate struck as one shot hit Asané in the back and blasted out the front of her chest. She fell to the ground instantly dead. The Mandalorians kept on shooting at Amelia but she was more lucky than Asané was.... For now.

"No!" Amelia screamed as she saw her friend fall. Then she felt her stomach drop as her feet slid from under her and she found herself falling flat on her stomach. Luckily this accidental action had caused her to miss a blast that had been aimed at her head. Grabbing her blaster again, she began to shoot at anything that moved from her new position on the floor, whilst trying to crawl back to Asane.

But already she knew it was pointless. Asane was dead. Bounty Hunters were already surrounding her body, making it impossible to retrieve. The only thing she could do was run.

So that's what Amelia did.

Picking herself up off the floor, she ran as fast as her legs could carry her, never looking back. Weaving in and out of the trees in the forest, she tried to remember the way back to the ship, hoping she wasn't running in circles.

Tears blinded her, stinging her eyes and soaking the material veil that covered her face, but still she ran on...knowing that if she were to die or get captured now, Asane's death would have been in vain.

Leaping over fallen logs and trying not to skid in the soggy mud, Amelia finally dared to look back to see if she was still being followed. She was, and the odd laser blast here and there told her this, but they weren't as close now.

Suddenly turning back to look where she was running, Amelia didn't see the low branch until it was too late. It smashed her in the mouth, knocking her backwards off her feet.

Immediately she could taste the salty, metallic taste of blood, but that didn't concern her. What did concern her was the fact that the hunters had once again drawn nearer and she had no idea where she was.

She was lost, in an unknown jungle...alone...facing certain death if she was found.

Kalin Thalis - November 10, 2007 04:40 PM (GMT)
The Mandalorians stopped their search,

"Stop! The jungle will take her..... Let's return to the camp and get rid of that body....."

The Mandalorians walked back to the camp. They fed Asané's body to animals they kept in cages and they checked the mainframe. There seemed to be no damage so theyr stopped their research. It was a puzzle to them why this duo had come here, but they were no threat anymore. Who knows, they could have been spies from anywhere. So the last thing that was decided was to upgrade the security so they placed motion sensors and cameras everywhere where they could expect invaders to sneak in.

Amelia Rose Fitzwalter - November 10, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
Amelia lay on the floor for quite a while, listening to the footsteps die away. And then she started sobbing again...properly this time. Huge wracking sobs that she found impossible to control. The tears flowed more freely now, mingling with the blood from her mouth and staining her collar.

Pulling back her veil to spit out the contents of her mouth before she choked on it, Amelia was well aware of something moving about in the bushes behind her. Remembering her promise to Asane, she replaced the veil across her face before she could be seen, rubbed her eyes furiously with the back of her gloved hand, compossed herself a little and stood up, turning to face whatever it was with an angry, almost vengeful look in her eyes.

"Come on then!" she dared, standing with her arms wide in a confident, almost inviting gesture. Suddenly unafraid anymore, Amelia didn't even register her surprise when a feline-like creature appeared. It had spikes along it's back, and a long tail that curved back on itself, splitting in half at the end and flicking violently from side to side.

"Come on then!" Amelia called to it, grasping the grip of her blaster a little more as she stood glaring at the beast. It growled and even hissed a little as it took a few steps forwards, lowering itself right down in an obvious attack postition. It's beady red eyes - all four of them - never left Amelia, and her deep brown eyes never left it. It was like a battle of the wills...who would give in first and look away.

And then finally, it sprung forwards. Amelia opened fire immediately, catching it twice on the shoulder and once under the chin.

"That's for you, Asane!" she cried as the wounded nexu dropped to the floor and Amelia glanced at it for a few moments longer, then seemed to snap from her trance and fled away through the forest once more. She had no idea what had come over her now...but she could feel the stirrings of a terrible rage inside her, and didn't even try to stop it. It was her fault Asane was dead...her fault they had had to come to this stupid, disgusting spit of rock in the first place. Her fault. Everything was her fault. And yet, she'd been let off, whilst the innocent had suffered. Life was cruel and unfair...and she hated it.

As she finally reached the ship, she didn't feel relief. She didn't even feel happy that she'd escaped alive. All she felt was an icy numbness that caused red hot tears to splash down her cheeks once more.

Running up the ramp of the sleek silver ship, she waited until it had closed and then lashed out, punching the wall angrily. A searing pain shot through her knuckles and she broke down once more in uncontrollable sobs, sitting on the floor with her knees huddled under her chin.
