Ray plopped down on the bed and Leona immediately rolled him out.
"Let's get things strait 'Ty'! You sleep on the floor I in the bed and if you even as so much speak without permission I'll rat you out to your Commander!"
Ray flinched at Leona's words. He was never one to be at ease around a woman in the first place but one who was so violent made him almost fear her.
"Do I have permission to-" Ray started.
"NO YOU DON'T!!! She barked.
Ray nodded but when Leona started to giggle he knew she was pulling his leg.
"That's not funny! Ray hissed.
"Oh yes it is," She laughed more, "You need to act as if you fit right into the Rebels. I'll teach you a few things about being a spy as well,"
Ray shrugged, and they both sat on the bed while she talked being about being a spy.
"It's obvious you can't act strange and have to be loyal to these Rebel Scum," She whispered.
A Rebel knocked on the door and Leona said it was open.
He came in and asked, "Am I interrupting?"
No sir I was just talking to our new refugee," She motioned to Ray
"Alright then I need you to come with me please," The Rebel said as he turned on his heels.
"Can I come with you? Ray blurted.
The man looked over his shoulder and spoke in a apologetic voice, "No but I wish you could be a part though,"
Senh looked back and kindly spoke, "Make yourself at home,"
Ray nodded and sat down. When they left Ray started looking around the room. He knew he could be seen by cameras and he couldn't hack it without suspicion. He noticed Senh had left a pack that said "To Ty". He went over and opened it and to his delight he found a Stealth-2VX palm shooter and about 10 darts. He kept it out of camera view and stuffed it in his robe.
"I new she'd come through,"
He walked out of the room and roamed the area that he was aloud to: the Mess Hall, Common Room, and many halls. He was getting flustered and nowhere at the same time. He needed to get back to The Devastator and report this but how to avoid all these guards? There were too many to sneak by and he didn't have enough ammo to fight. He groaned and moped around until he finally went back into Leona's quarters. He got into more comfortable clothes and put the Dart Shooter and ammo in a much concealed spot. He then got a small fold up desk and set it outside. He asked Rebels walking by if they wanted to play a friendly game of cards.
"No wager just for fun," Ray said
"Nah, I gotta go,"
"How about you sir?"
Nope I can't, loved to, but can't,"
This wasn't working. He wanted something to do! He sighed when he heard a bunch of big heavy footsteps. The old man from out side with the one bad eye had sat down in front of him and was shuffling some cards of his own.
"I guess we got off on the wrong foot son,"
"Ty sir,"
"Whatever," He chuckled in that low thunder of a voice, "Anyway I wanted to try and make it up. I got a little extra time and I like cards...Used'ta gamble a little in the old days,"
"Uhm sir...how old are you?"
The old man laughed, "I'm 57 and still kicking Imperial ass!"
Ray gave an odd, fake smile and leaned back in his chair while the old man dealt the cards. They played for a while and after Ray lost 12 and won 2 and after the old man fell out of his seat laughing, Ray got up and turned around just in time to see Senh coming down the hall.
"Hey Se... Leona! Ray could have kicked himself.
Senh gave a glare and stormed by him into her room as a couple of Rebels ran down the hall calling for her. The old man stood up.
"What's wrong with Leona this time?"
One of the Rebels shrugged as the other spoke, "Someone must of said something in the conference...again!"
"Ugh! There is no pleasing her... The old man sighed and knocked on her door.
"GO AWAY!!! She said, she sounded as if she was choking up.
"Leona...please come out,"
"NO!!! Now she was crying.
Ray tapped the old man on the shoulder and asked, "Err...what's her problem?"
The Old man replied, "She's...she's 'unstable' emotionally,"
"I say she's had to many drinks in her life," chimed in one of the two younger Rebels.
The old man turned and backhanded the boy slam across the hall, "DON'T TALK ABOUT HER LIKE THAT!!!"
Ray jumped back as he saw the pure strength of this man. He was infuriated and his foot steps gave it away as he picked up the man and pinned him to the wall. Ray hadn't noticed that the man was HUGE!!! At least 6' 6" and as the old man's sleeves fell back Ray could see one arm was prosthetic and the other looked like it was stuffed full of boulders!
"I'm sorry sir! Sorry sorry sorry! He was squirming to get away from the old man.
"You sure about that? Cause if not I could MAKE YOU SORRY!!!"
He reared back and punched the wall right next to the Rebel's head. The wall had a huge indent in it. About twenty more men and women came down the hall to see what was going on and they immediately broke the old man away from the poor, defenseless boy. The old man stormed off and a single Rebel came over to Ray.
"You know what happened?"
Ray just mumbled, "Something about Leona drinking or-"
"Oooooh God... The man turned to the Rebel on the ground, "What were you thinking?"
It was just a joke!"
The man turned back to Ray and gave him the story, "Old Man Misomi there had two identical daughters. Senh and Leona, Senh joined the Empire and hasn't been seen since. Leona was thought to be dead after...well after she drank her life away. Then she turned up here one day 2 years later saying she tracked her dad down,"
Ray was amazed at this...this awful truth about Senh...Using her own sister's identity and everything to spy on the Rebels. That's the way of the Empire I guess...The awful, poisoness way of the Empire. After everything cleared Ray entered Senh's room where he saw her fooling around with her blaster. She looked at him and smiled. Ray, who couldn't figure out this sick lady, gave a repulsed laugh and sat down.
"What was that?!" asked Ray?
"Well see here, if I get that old fool in enough fights he might get in trouble or even better," she looked around with joy, "Executed!"
Ray's heart nearly stopped and his body went cold.
"How can you say that Leona? It hurt Ray to use that name now.
"Well see my dear sweet father out there is a major problem to the Empire. He used t be the best of the best in drug smuggling and gun running. He even took over a few transports in his day. Now when the Empire was set up he didn't like it one bit so he went on to join. The man flew through the ranks but what they don't no is that if his lips touch alcohol he is a violent beast and when we lived with him he used to hit us...a lot. Now my sister, as much as I loved her, turned to drinking herself into a state of numbness and helplessness. While I stored up my anger and new I'd take it out on him one day. For this to happen though I needed my sister...out of the way so I slipped a little something special in her drink and she went out cold. After two years I appear and say it's me, tell daddy I didn't die it was just a rumor, since he never saw the body of Leona, and told that Senh had joined the Empire,"
Ray's entire body was numb and the hairs on the back of his neck stood strait up. This was sick, this was insane, this was madness! Ray motioned towards the cameras.
Senh laughed and said, "Mine can't transmit any sound! Hahaha!"
Her face straitened up, "There is something I need help on though. A wanted criminal is said to be hear and is name Jin-ho. She is said to be dead but actually she is here in this temple and is on some mission. I'm not sure of what but they're supposed to hijack a transport of something. Probably supplies or something. Anyway I'm going to try and take out one of the members of her crew Dak is his name. He shouldn't be hard to kill but to hide him well will be tough...Can you make a distraction?"
All that went through Ray's head was the repeating words Anything for the Empire. Anything for the Empire.
"Yeah I can do that if you can get me outside,"
He handed him a small card and off he went to the outside and into the jungle.
Ray trotted down the many halls of the beautiful temple. He was stopped a few times but showed his pass and he was let by with no questions. He made it to the main entrance and was again stopped but this time by Old Man Misomi.
"Where you going boy? Old Man Misomi asked.
Ray held up the pass.
"I didn't ask if you had permission I asked where you were going boy," he chuckled with his deep thunderous voice.
Ray ignored the old man and tried to walk by but the giant hand grabbed Ray's shoulder firmly.
Ray talked in an innocent voice, "I was just going to get my things from the tower,"
"Then let me go with you...I've got nothing better to do," Said Old Man Misomi.
Ray didn't protest because he didn't feel like getting his shoulder broke today. So they exited the building and started walking to the tower. The old man's strides were so long that Ray had to jog to keep up and even then he slowly fell behind. When they were right near the tower Ray noted that he was about 10 yards away from Old Man Misomi. He took this chance to smamper up a tree and load his Dart Shooter and took aim. At the same time Old Man Misomi had been arming his shortened Chain Gun. Old Man Misomi made the first move as he spun around and tore apart the tree Ray was in with bullets. Ray had launched out just in the nick of time.
"Sorry I had to do that boy but I can't let you and Senh be messing around any more! Old Man Misomi called.
How'd he know about us? Ray thought as he landed behind another tree.
"What are you talking about old man? Ray tried desperately to keep his innocence.
There was a great roar of bullets that tore through the tree and Ray had just dodged it in time.
"I'm smarter than what you give me credit for boy! The old man boomed.
Ray was in mid air and took aim at the man but Old Man Misomi leaped behind a tree right before the dart was shot. Ray landed behind a boulder and thought that it'd give him time to talk.
"Alright how did you know about Senh and me? Ray prepared to leap again.
"Well I've known about Senh forever. Even if you haven't seen your little girl you know there face! Didn't your parents ever teach you anything?" Scolded Old Man Misomi.
Ray's knees went out. He had been alone all his life...no dad, mom, sisters, or brothers...just his one friend who'd he'd killed to escape an awful place.
"No! NO THEY NEVER GOT THE CHANCE TO TEACH ME A THING!!!" Ray fumed and felt his blood boil, "They were to DEAD TO TEACH ME ANYTIHNG!!!"
Ray leaped into the air to see Old Man Misomi step out and Ray fired but the old man put his gun in the way. Ray landed in the open and the chain gun went off at Ray. Ray ran for his life behind a small rock.
"It's a damn shame but boy I ain't gonna allow you to harm anyone," The old man said in a soft tone.
"Why didn't you do something about Senh? Ray asked in disbelief.
"I said I knew I didnt say I believed it!" Replied the thunderous voice.
Ray dashed to a safer place and saw Old Man Misomi slowly trudging towards his position. It was terrifying to see a giant with a chain gun ominously closing a gap on you.
"Well then why-" Ray started
The chain gun let out a roar and the ground right beside Ray seemed to explode. Ray's ears rang and he could hear his heartbeat as if it was in his head.
"Well then why do something now? Ray finished.
There was no answer. Fear struck Ray as he slowly poked his head out.
"Oh no... Ray moaned as he saw that Old Man Misomi wasn't there.
Ray turned just in time to see a huge fist reared back to crush him. Ray rolled away as the fist smashed into the tree and it nearly buckled. Ray then fired a dart and it hit his mark but unfortunately it was the prosthetic arm it hit. Old Man Misomi knew he'd just won. He raised his chain gun to fire.
"WAIT! Ray exclaimed, "I want to know something..."
Old Man Misomi didn't rip Ray apart with bullets so Ray took it as an 'ok'.
"How are you this good? I mean you are to good,"
The old man grinned, "Practice and hope,"
Ray raised one eyebrow, "Hope in what?"
I agreed to one question," Said the old man.
"Yeah but I believe the Rebels are a lost cause...you're out-gunned, out-manned, out-trained, and have hardly no money," Ray had to push it.
The old man was almost offended "You find faith in these things while we find faith in each other. Now that you've asked your questions I'll ask mine. What's your real name?"
Ray grinned and new he had to come clean, "Ray Malvia Captain is my name and I've outwitted another Rebel!"
Ray pointed at the girl coming out of the bushes with a shotgun. Senh then shot down Old Man Misomi and the battle was over. Senh ran over and helped Ray up.
"Why are you down here Senh? I thought you were going to take down Dak! Ray was now on his feat.
"Oh what? No 'Thank you' or 'Oh you saved my life Senh'? Anyway we have to get out of here before more Rebels get here,"
So they ran through the jungle back to the Temple.
"The answer to your question is this. I needed a distraction and that battle gave me one but I also need your help to take Dak out,"
The two of them waited, and watched in a corner of Dak while Rebel after Rebel ran by. They spotted him and Senh ran to her room and came back after all the commotion stopped. She had an X-45 which was a small but deadly sniper rifle. They exited, took a few narrow passages and got to a position and waited on the Rebels to pass. As they did they saw him. Senh took aim and waited untill he was oalmost out of sight and then shot but the shot only tore his pants on the side. The shot rang out and caused great chaos. Senh attached an explosive to the gun then jumped down leaving clone armour in her place.
"Where do you get this stuff?!" whispered Ray.
"I have a few friends in the smuggling business!" She said in return.
She detonated the explosive and the gun was destroyed and the clone armor was left to take the blame.
After all the Rebels, Senh, and Ray got back it was finalized that it'd been a crash-landed clone that had killed Old Man Misomi and tried to kill Dak. This ment Ray and Sebh were off the hook but Dak was still in operation.
Senh turned to Ray as they walked back to the room and she said kindly, "We'll get'm next time,"
She chuckled and ran down the hall as Ray rolled his eyes.
Senh came up behind Ray a while later and smacked him upside the head playfully.
"Ok since you messed up our last mission we have a new one and if you mess this one up I'll report you to my Commander,"
She handed him a letter which read, "Be at the tower at the Tower at 8 o'clock sharp."
Senh was already running down the hall laughing as normal. She'd make a nice pirate Ray thought to himself as he walked off. He went down through the halls and clung on to his pass that he had from the last incident. Then he saw something....It was four men carrying something...a casket! It must've been Old Man Misomi in it! Ray suddenly guilt stricken and his knees tried to buckle but instead he ran to his room and went into the bathroom. He stared into the cracked mirror that sat on the wall. His reflection, though slightly distorted from the crack, showed what he looked like, a normal, innocent man with no goal but to survive but he was a hardened killer of the Empire and was hear to defeat Rebels! He wanted to just fie and get out of this predicament but that wasn't an option. He got himself into this mess and he was going to get out of it. Then he herd Senh's voice.
"You aren't 100% loyal to the Empire are you? Her voice was grim.
Ray jerked around. He hadn't seen her come in and it was worse...her eyes were nearly covered in shadow and hair. She took a step forward and Ray tried to go backwards but he trapped between the wall and her.
"Why do you say that? I'm a lieutenant!" Ray clenched his fist.
"Tell me you're loyal...Don't make me regret giving you that card," She covered her mouth involuntarily and she backed up.
"Why did you give me this card? He held it up.
She kept her hand near her mouth as if to block words from accidentally spilling out. Ray's fear had turned to pity and he walked over to her and put his hand on Senh's shoulder. They stood for about three minutes before a word was said.
"I don't want you to go," Senh squeaked.
"Where?" ,Ray didn't understand what she meant, "Back to the Devastator or-"
"Anywhere! She pulled away and went out the door.
After that Ray pulled himself together.
"Talk about spilt personalities, He went to the training room and hit a punching bag for about and hour. Every punch was a like a little knowledge trickling into his brain...an answer or explanation to what was going on.
Was he supposed to be with the Empire? *WHACK!* Yes he was! Did he have to kill Old Man Misomi? *WHACK!* Yes he did!
He picked up the pace, dancing around the bag and clenched his fist.
Why are we at war *SMACK!* We must maintain control of the Empire
He felt sweat on his brow and he wiped it away and continued. He kept going till the sweat ran into his eyes and until his muscles ached; until his hand bled; until the question popped into his head.
What about Senh? *WHACK!* ...nothing came to him.
What about Senh?! *SMACK!* ...still nothing.
Ray was furious and he kept jabbing at the punching bag and beating it. Finally he reared back and gave a final punch. There was a crunching noise with the noise of the puching bag coming off the hook and hitting the wall. Ray grabbed his arm and dropped to the floor. The pain was familiar but he smiled.
"What's wrong with your arm?" asked a guy from across the room.
"Broken!" he said aloud and by that time a couple of guys training helped him up and took him to the medical wing.
Though his shattered arm plagued him he smiled for he got the answer to his question.
Ray was now feeling better and things were as usual. Senh still had mood swings and occasionally smacked Ray up side his head but nothing new happened for about a week. Until one early morning before dawn Senh woke Ray.
"Ray! She was frantic but quiet, "Ray you lazy bum get up or youre dead!"
"Al-alright Le-zzz" Ray nodded off again.
Leaona smacked him in the face once and he popped up and started to yell at her about how hauling off and smacking people before they were even awake was wrong but he noted by the little he could see that this was important.
"Well...what's happening little miss impatient?"
"We must go before they get here! She sounded a little frightened for a killer.
Ray started to ask who she was talking about and ask a whole bunch of time-wasting questions until he woke up but she thrust him his supplies and an extra weapon. She hauled him off out the door and forced through the halls into the jungle. There she pushed him on and on until they got to a bunch of brush laid over something. She made Ray clear it and there sat a ship! It wasn't much but it had two seats and it looked like it'd actually stay together unlike his.
"So what do you call this Senh?"
"I call it our way out, now get in!"
Ray rolled his eyes and got in. Wherever they were going it was in a hurry and a secret. Ray nodded off to sleep as Senh drove the ship out of Yavin 4's atmosphere.
