Title: Retracing Old Footsteps

Ayanna Nyx - October 12, 2007 06:07 PM (GMT)
Kalin and Ayanna entered the entertaining hotel that they had seen Li in before. Ayanna could not help but give a slight shudder to be back in this place. She could hardly believe all of it had happened, and what's worse, the truth about Li and her. She felt herself beginning to doubt about him, though he swore to kill her, she could not help but think of when they spoke, before everything went wrong. She could not help but wonder if the only reason he had attacked her was because he thought she was following him in some way, and that he didn't mean to hurt her perhaps. She shook her head a little in annoyance, she could feel that she was beginning to weaken concerning Li. She began to think of him too much as her brother rather than her enemy. The more she thought about what her mother..... What their mother had done to him, she could understand the hatred he felt. Towards her and their mother. She even believed that if the tables had been turned, she would have turned out just like he had, and seek revenge and blood to satisfy the years of torment.

They both walked to the bar as Kalin ordered them some drinks before sitting back near to where they had sat with Li, days before. Ayanna sipped on her drink, with a sad frown on her face. She did not like being back in this place at all.

lewy - November 1, 2007 07:48 PM (GMT)
Resei entered the bar. He had the not common need of drowning his memories.
His mind was just a mess. He barely managed to think clearly.
Therefore, when he spotted the two Sith, he just stood there plain openly, watching them with a tired look.
He felt nothing. If this was the end, he would welcome it.
Right now he had no reason not to...

Kalin Thalis - November 1, 2007 09:27 PM (GMT)
Kalin whispered to Ayanna, "I sense something.... Something familiar....."

he turned around and gave a quick look to Resei, then he looked back to Ayanna to see her reaction. Ayanna herself looked up as she saw their 'old friend' and gave a little smile to Kalin.

"Something is different..." Kalin added to what he had just said to Ayanna, "The Force is stronger in him.... I have to report this to my master..... He could be a potential threat...." He whispsered, "Do you think you can keep him busy?"

"I'll certainly try...." She said as she began to stand and walk towards Resei.

"Well well well..... Now I have to say you are without a doubt the last person I ever expected to see here.... or ever again to be quite honest! It's a small galaxy!" She laughed.

lewy - November 1, 2007 09:36 PM (GMT)
Resei could almost not bring himself to speak. His mind drowned in memories.

"Ayanna. The Force wanted us to meet again, it seems. Yet under very different conditions. There is no reason to play this game. The Force wanted us to see each other as we truly are... It wanted you to warn your superiors. I believe that is why I do not see your friend here. (he didn't bother to look around)
I came in here to drown my memories. But I am only reminded... It is sadly no great pleasure to meet you again, Ayanna."

He looked beaten. Defeated. Tired.

Ayanna Nyx - November 2, 2007 04:42 PM (GMT)
"Oh you old charmer... You know you're happy to see me really..... So what have you been up to since.... Tatooine?...." She said as she smiled to him innocently, while Kalin left to contact Lord Vader.

Kalin had his doubts to contact Vader, after all, Resei did not really strike to him as a 'great threat'. So he decided to wait and return to the conversation, he would base his decision on what Ayanna had found out about him. And, what he could get out of Resei himself.

Kalin returned to the scene with a smile on his face, "Hey my old friend!" He said a little sarcastic, "How are you doing these days? Did you miss us?" He laughed, "How's your mother?!" He laughed once more.

lewy - November 2, 2007 06:29 PM (GMT)
Lucky for him I'm no SIth...

"Why have I not missed you and your sarcastic humour... How's my old friend Vader going along? He isn't still mad at me because of that TIE-affair? But, seriously, now- what are the two of you doing here?"

Kalin Thalis - November 2, 2007 11:54 PM (GMT)
"The TIE-affair?" He laughed, "I almost forgot about that! You're on the suspect list aren't you?.... Anyway, what brings us here is none of your concern..... I'm more concerned about what brings you here?.... I don't think our meeting is.... A coincidence..... It was the will of the Force..... As the Jedi say.... But do you believe that 'stuff'?" He spoke with a sarcastic tone to it.

Kalin noticed that the people were completely distracted, so he took a risk he maybe should not take. Using the Force, he picked up his glass from the bar, "Come on.... I know you can do the same..." He said as the glass flew into his hand at his own will, "You've been working out haven't you....."

lewy - November 3, 2007 12:06 AM (GMT)
"My time as a Bounty Hunter thought me caution... My time as a Jedi has thought me peace. What have the Sith thought you? You are speaking to a sworn enemy in a cantina on Ryloth. As a Bounty Hunter I would never have let such a chance pass me by to start a Cantina Brawl that would eventually lead to the death of the enemy in question.
But here we are, speaking of the past, and even showing off... I am impressed you have let me live for this long."

Ayanna Nyx - November 3, 2007 12:20 PM (GMT)
Kalin responded to what Resei was talking about, "Yes we are sworn enemies, and no I was not showing off..... I wanted to test your Jedi reflexes, I felt a slight tremor in the force..... And you sensed it which confirmed my speculations about you..... You are wanting to become a Jedi.... The Force is with you..... But you are not a Jedi yet...." He paused, "So what are we going to do with you?..... I could kill you right here..... And let the stormtroopers handle it..... cause you do know who I'm working for right?...... I'll give you a choice Resei.... Either you spray away from the path of the Jedi, or you join us...... Otherwise....." Kalin looked down to his lightsaber, hinting what future was awaiting Resei if he did not cooperate.

lewy - November 3, 2007 01:11 PM (GMT)
Resei stared at Kalin without expressions.

"Do you know what you ask me to do? Do you even know what is happening out there? Women are sold! Sold to men with only one thought in their head! And it's all happeining with the blessings of your precious empire! I bought one of them! Only to set her free! But I am the only one, am I not. I cannot support the empire. It is only supressing the weak. I have been turned. Perhaps I was once almost on the same path as you, but...
Kill me if you like! Bt do not expect me not to pull my lightsaber and face you! What would that cost you? Your cover? The chance of your success in whatever operation you are on now?"

In the end he rose his voice so that the ones nearby could hear him.

"I will not surrender to your teachings!"

His hand moved beneath his cloak...

Kalin Thalis - November 3, 2007 02:09 PM (GMT)
Kalin laughed at what Resei was saying, what he was blaming the Empire for...It all sounded so ironic.

"It were the Jedi who betrayed the Republic, remember?!" He responded, "You were the ones who turned your back on the galaxy and tried to take control, while you had no right to! The Empire is trying to cure the galaxy from deseases like you and that small Rebel band which tries to oppose us!"

Kalin laughed once more..."I'm not going to fight you, Resei...but as soon as you walk out of this cantine, you're a dead man!" He paused and frowned his eyes

"Don't forget what I told you, my offer still stands...now don't make a scene and get out of here...I will give you some time to think it over...but don't think to long...My patience has limits, boy!"

lewy - November 3, 2007 02:52 PM (GMT)
"The Jedi betrayed the republic? Hah! The Emperor did! The senate did! But never the Jedi. You wish to persuade me to your side. But why is that? What good will an unwilling Sith do you? If you wish me to change lojalty so drastic you will need to give me more reasons than only to save my life, and fake accusitions to the Jedi!"

Resei waited, still with no emotions visible.

Ayanna Nyx - November 3, 2007 05:26 PM (GMT)
Ayanna stepped forward, "Careful boy! You do not have the skill nor the knowledge to make claims as you just have.... Bewitched by tales of the Jedi means nothing.... They are trying to suck you back into their lies so that you can teach it to others, and again.... Their DISEASE will spread.... And we won't allow that....." She hissed to him.

Kalin smiled at Ayanna's performance, it was quite impressive to him. She seemed to pick up his manners pretty quickly. When he first met her, she was not sarcastic at all, and not very threatening, but now she thought almost just like him.

"Can I ask you something boy? Do you remember when the Jedi betrayed the Republic? I doubt that..... But I do..... I was there..... I saw it happening..... So don't make claims you know nothing of! I was nearly 10 years old when it happened..... And my mother was devastated about what the Jedi did! We both had to flee..... I hated to leave my homeworld..... But it was all your fault! You pathetic Jedi! The Emperor may be harsh, but he is the one who is the cure in this galaxy..... Do you know how much responsibility lies on his shoulders?.... Of course you don't... You're just a kid..... Now, get out of my sight!!!" He said with clenched teeth.

lewy - November 4, 2007 09:08 PM (GMT)
Resei rose an eyebrow at him.

"You have changed, Ayanna. Sadly...
And Kalin! It seem you want me over to your side. Ayanna is doing a good job trying to persuade me, and you tell me to leave?
Is that the way of the Sith? To force me to do as you want, and then deny me? As every other aspect with the Sith teachings, it hits me as plain ridiculous..." Resei knew he was pushing his luck, but their accusations to the Jedi made him somewhat annoyed, or even angry.

Kalin Thalis - November 4, 2007 11:08 PM (GMT)
Ayanna stepped forward, "You're wrong Resei..... I have not changed... I have just become stronger.... Wiser.... My eyes have been opened..... While you.... You run around in the dark... Not knowing what the galaxy truly looks like..... You have a plagued vision...... So you can either be cured..... Or have your deceiving eyes ripped from your skull...... It's really up to you...." She said with a sadistidc smile. After all her sorry concerning Li, she enjoyed being able to toy with someone who she saw as weaker than her.

Kalin again seemed to be smug about how Ayanna took care of Resei, "I am not denying you..... Resei..... I am giving you some time to think this over..... And if you are wise, you will contact me within two days..... We will still be on this planet..... Now you're to become a Jedi..... I'm sure your Jedi senses will make it easier for you to find us..... It's up to you..... Learn the Dark Side of the Force..... Or die....."

lewy - November 4, 2007 11:42 PM (GMT)
"You leave me little choice, Sith. We shall see whose eyes are open...
Perhaps you are stronger, Ayanna. But I do not agree with your form for wisdom. I will leave you now. Two days more to live. We will speek more later. For worse or for good. May the force be with you. Both of you."

Then he turned. He was no longer angry. Just sad. What had happened with Ayanna... She had changed, but this new wisdom of hers prevented her from seeing it...
He hoped their souls was not yet entirely corrupted. That there was something he could do... But for now he had two days to learn to survive.
He did better find Bri. But he wouldn't tell her. This was personal.

Ayanna Nyx - November 5, 2007 01:37 AM (GMT)
Kalin smiled at Ayanna and laughed. Kyra did the same as Resei already left.

"So what did you think of our little encounter with our 'Jedi' friend?" He said mockingly.

She laughed again, "It was...... Exhilarating! Although I felt so.... Fueled.... I could feel my hatred boiling inside me.... Not for him especially.... but his kind.... I can't deny that I hope he is foolish and refuses, just so we can have fun dealing with him..." She grinned a little sadistically.

"Hmmm... I do not want him to die persé.... But his blind following of the Jedi does anger me.... A little.... I haven't reported anything yet to Vader.... As I said, I want to give him a chance.... More than most Jedi get!.... You see.... The Jedi and the Sith are not that different..... If you look at history.... They both wanted power.... They both want good for this galaxy..... But they have different visions on how that can be achieved...."

"Different visions..... I see them as blind..... They limit themselves to their own interpretations of what 'good' and 'evil' is..... They know nothing about either..... They limit themselves.... Something I never understood.... The Jedi only see a straight line.... A dogmatic view of the Force and ignore everything else it has to offer..... The Sith..... We look at every aspect..... So that we can understand it better, and understand ourselves better with that..... And they criticize us?.... Once they have learned to look and see with their own eyes what is already all around them..... Then I will respect their opinion of what should happen with this galaxy....." She said as she thought carefully about it all.

"Don't judge them too quickly..... I have a great admiration for the Jedi..... As a young boy.... I wanted to be one.... Until I learned how they betrayed the Republic, then I started to hate them..... But as I grew older, I began to see which flaws doomed them..... But know one thing, the Sith possess these flaws too..... Lust for power.... Something I try to avoid..... But, as humans, or any living creature...... It is not easy to avoid these flaws..... After all, it is in our nature...." Kalin explained how he thought about the Jedi, to Resei he described them purely as scum, but that was a lie, only to intimidate him.

Kalin Thalis - November 5, 2007 01:50 AM (GMT)
Ayanna listened to him carefully, beginning to wonder about what he said, "So..... What is the solution then? If the Jedi and the Sith are both flawed..... How can it be fixed?...." She said as she looked to him.

"To learn from our mistakes.... That's what I try to do.... I'm not sure if every Dark Jedi wants to do the same.... Remember my previous acolyte, the one who joined us in the tombs? He possessed the same flaws..... And I tried and I tried.... But he could not be swayed.... He was too stubborn to learn....."

Ayanna smiled to him, almost entirely forgetting why they were on this planet to begin with, to search for clues about her estranged brother, "So then Thalis..... You ever considered creating your own sect?" She laughed a little, "Teach everything that the Jedi and Sith do not know..... Cause I don't think any Sith or Jedi will think the same as you..... To learn from their mistakes.... They will continue to point the finger the other way instead of straight back at themselves...." She smiled.

"To think the same as me?" He laughed, suddenly he saw a vision, a farmboy, the same one they saw on Tatooine. Then, the vision changed to him being older, holding a lightsaber in his hands. Then, he saw him fighting Vader, "How could this be?..... I mean...." He sighed, "Nevermind.... I think we have to return to Tatooine after our little journey here.... Ther's something about this boy.... I mean the boy we met at the Homestead..... He's more than just the son of Anakin Skywalker....."

She looked to him a little puzzled at his sudden change in the conversation, "Are you alright? What do you mean? Why did you bring up that goofy kid again?" She said as she neared to him a little.

"There's something mysterious about him.... When I saw this vision of him.... I saw all this bright light that shined around him..... And why was he fighting Vader in my vision?.... It's like this great destiny has been laid before him..... But I don't know what it means....." He shook his head, disturbed by the vision he saw.

"Well, if he's foolish enough to fight Vader then we can almost safely say that his 'destiny' will be a short lived one..... He was barely able to stand on his own two feet with much confidence.... I could carely believe he was the son of Skywalker..... His father was such a legend and he.... He's just a regular kid...." She said as she thought back on him, though she too had felt something strange about him, just she was not sure what it meant.

"I do not think we should underestimate that child by what we saw..... I think we both know there is more to him than meets the eye....." Kalin sighed, "Anyway.... I think we should focus back on the mission...."

lewy - November 6, 2007 04:45 PM (GMT)
In the cantina again? Are they going to get big-time drunk?

Resei almost managed a smile, and approached them.

"Kalin. Ayanna. We meet again."

He had exhanged the training lightsaber with the sabre he had receivedas a jedi hunter.
He had not spoken to Bri about their last encounter, but he had been sullen and unfocused the last two days, which she had noticed with a slight frown, but probably thought was due to the memories that returned as he walked the planet.
But now it was time...

Kalin Thalis - November 6, 2007 04:54 PM (GMT)
Kalin and Ayanna aproached Resei with a friendly smile. They decided not to be be as harsh on him as last time. They wanted to be genuinly friendly depending on Resei's decision of course. Maybe Resei thought they were faking, but that would be natural. There was still a large gap when it came to trust. Kalin didn't trust Resei, and most likely Resei didn't trust Kalin. But this decision he had to make was a matter of life and death. Kalin assumed he might take it personal that Kalin threatened his life, but it wasn't. If Kalin wouldn't hunt him, someone else would just take his place and could most likely show a lot less mercy than Kalin did. Kalin decided to study all aspects of the Force unlike many other dark Jedi who were a lot more vicious than him.

"So Resei...did you have the chance to think over what we discussed...I know you might take the whole situation personal, but if you decide to become a Jedi you will be hunted down for all your life...is that the life you wish to have?"

lewy - November 6, 2007 05:32 PM (GMT)
"Well, Kalin... I have been thinking a lot the past two days. And perhaps you have some good opinions.. The Jedi may be dogmatic. But so is the Sith. At least the most fanatic ones.
The only way to fully understand the force would be to study both sides, and keep an open mind. Is there any chance I could do that? Is there such a secret cult? What do I have to do to understand?"

Perhaps he was demanding, but at least he showed he had not chosen his place completely on the other side of the dark side.

Kalin Thalis - November 6, 2007 05:55 PM (GMT)
Kalin gave a genuine smile, but he thought it was a bit of of weird thought there might be some cult.

"No there is not a cult for learning these teachings...but there is something else...I learned both aspects of the Force by my former master...his name is Remus-Qui...so I advice you to go to the Sith Academy and ask for him. That is the only thing I can ask for you...if they refuse...then there is nothing I can do for you to protect you. But Remus doesn't have such a black vision on the Force by only educating you the Dark Side...No he will teach you other aspects of the Force too, but I advice you to shield yourself from other acolytes and teachers...They do not coöperate with Master Remus very well."

Kalin placed his hand on Resei's shoulder as a gesture of faith.

"He will show you the true nature of the Force. Indeed the problem of the Sith and the Jedi lies in ignorance, both shield themselves from powers and knowledge they fear, though the Sith fear them less than the Jedi, they are just ignorant to that knowledge due to their hatred for the Jedi."

lewy - November 6, 2007 10:26 PM (GMT)
Resei frowned. This meant he had to leave Bri, and the ship. It also meant he had to leave the planet. Perhaps that was for the best, after all.

"Thank you for your understaning, Kalin. To Korriban it is, then. hmm.. well, well. Thank you, my friends."

He turned, and left. Hopefully for good, he added to himself.

Ayanna Nyx - November 7, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
Ayanna watched as he left, taking a gulp from her drink, "Great.... We've now increased the chances of bumping into him again.... I hope you're proud of yourself!" She laughed.

Kalin laughed back, "That depends.... I'm still not sure if he will go to Korriban, I'm not sure he will have the guts for it!" Kalin laughed again, "But if he does, he should be in good hands..... Remus-Qui is a good master..... I wouldn't have trusted any other, not even my own....."

"You mean Vader?......" She said as she looked to him.

With a dreaded voice he spoke, "Yes...." Even hearing his name sent a cold feeling across Kalin's spine.

She realised that Kalin seemed to be having some inner conflicts, though she wondered how deep they truly ran, "I'm beginning to think that our quest to find Li is..... Pretty pointless..... It's like trying to find a black hole with no stars to guide you..... He said he would find me..... So I think that's when we will next see him..... I just wish......" She paused for a moment, "He's...... He's my brother..... He's the only family I have left....."

"But can I ask you something..... You have lived your own life alone, believing that you had no family or friends.... So do you really need him? I mean, all this time you have learned to count on one person..... Yourself.... So why would you desire for a brother who is out to kill you...."

"Because..... I could have been him..... He wants to kill me... He feels hatred towards me and my mother, and I hated him in return for that at first..... But when I reflected, I wondered, were we so different? I could have turned out that way too.... If he was the one who was kept and I was thrown away..... He doesn't know me.... I'm just an object of hate..... Nothing more..... I..... I can't help but wonder if he truly learned to know who I am.... And me him..... Things would change..... I know nothing about him apart from the fact that he was abandoned by my.... Our mother...... That would torment anyone...." She said as she wondered, "And you're wrong.... I haven't learned to only depend on myself.... I've also......" She paused and thought for a moment, "Oh, never mind...."

Kalin thought for a moment about what she said and felt the inner conflict in her, so he decided to change the subject, "What do you think we should do now?..... We can't stay here and keep waiting for him...... Better try to do something productive.... There's still something I would like to know....."

Kalin Thalis - November 7, 2007 11:52 PM (GMT)
"Well I can't say I'm exactly..... Keen.... About returning to Korriban.... They'll probably have me tortured for disobeying their orders remember..... They wanted me to be a good little Dark Jedi and stay at home and play with my dolls while you went out into the world to do the 'man's job'...... Ha! Unlikely...." She laughed as she threw down another drink.

"Who said anything about going to Korriban?" He smiled smugly, "No..... I want to go back to Tatooine....."

She sighed a little, "You have the most amazing ability of dragging me to the most boring, desolate and dirty places in the galaxy...... If the next stop is Dagobah, I'm reconsidering my position!" She said with a sarcastic smile as she looked into her glass.

"Nah, after that, we'll probably go to Aargonar...It's a lot different than boring Tatooine!" He laughed.

She raised her eyebrows, "I'm not going to take your word on that!" She said with a little laugh, "So..... I'm guessing this has something to do with a certain Skywalker....."

"How observant of you!" He said sarcastically, "Yes, there's something about that boy..... I'm not going to let him cower away from his path by the hands of that crazy old hermit!"

"Why so concerned? He's just a boy..... And that man?..... Pff.... If he's still alive I'd be surprised..... He was in a royal mess!"

"I have my reasons.... Just trust me on that......"
