Title: Saleucami
Ayanna Nyx - October 7, 2007 02:39 PM (GMT)
After a long journey, Resei and Bri finally arrived on the distant world. Bri carefully walked down the ramp of the ship as she looked around.
"I have not been here since the Clone Wars, much has changed since then..... And the memories of the fallen still cling to this place...... Have you been here before Resei? You seem to be someone who has travelled a great deal in your short life..... Have you come across a Jedi.... Or Dark Jedi before?"
lewy - October 7, 2007 03:22 PM (GMT)
Resei took in the expressions of the planet. It must, he decided, one time have been a pretty place. But it's surface bore the marks of a war...
"No, I have not been here. But I have recently visited another outer-rim planet. And there I saw the site where the Dark Woman had been killed by Darth Vader... It made an impression...
And I have met him, too. Darth Vader, I mean.
Twice, actually. First on the Death-Star. In person. Speeking of which, I hope the Alliance is aware that the plans they have gotten from the Bounty Hunter guild of the superlaser are fake...
Perhaps if he finds out I have done this step, he will hunt me himself to ensure they do not find out... If he cares that much about it...
That was a new, scary thought... (Kalin, please don't... :P )
Anyway, at the next occation I met him only through a hologram to prove my innocence after the sandtroopers believed I had stolen a TIE-fighter... Which he had told me to use for transport.
It lead to a few unpleasant moments...
Also, I met these two dark Jedi.
A kalin and an Ayanna. The first time Kalin, the guy, cremated the corpse of my mother using his lightsaber...
The second time they actually helped me out with something concerning proving that the TIE-fighters that had been stolen was not hidden on Mandalore...
And the last time I met them at the site where the Dark Woman was killed. And the guy pushed me into a tree using the Force...
I consider him... spontanous dangerous.
The girl seems nice, but I think she is even more dangerous, in her own way...
Because when she is dangerous she has thought it over, and perhaps laid a clever plan."
Aware that he had spoken much, and much off-topic, and also voiced his theories, he shut it.
Ayanna Nyx - October 7, 2007 07:34 PM (GMT)
"The Dark Woman..... That is An'ya Kuro you speak of..... I had expected she had died long ago...... But at the hands of Lord Vader?..... Such a pity, she was a great woman....... And those Dark Jedi you spoke of.... It is possible that they may find their way to find us.... It is their mission after all.... As with Darth Vader...... But they will never dim the light of the Jedi....."
They continued to walk until they reached an old settlement that seemed to have been abandoned for a long time.
"This was a base during the Clone Wars..... A Confederacy base....." She spoke as she cut the doors open with her lightsaber.
They began to walk through. The air was old and murky, no one had been here since the last days of the Clone Wars. On the ground lay old battle droids that had been shut down long before. They still clung to their blasters as tight as they did when they had been activated.
"We will stay here for a time..... As Jedi, we cannot stay in the one place for a long time unless completely necessary..... Although, some are lucky enough to find such peace away from Imperial entanglements.... I myself have not..... Here I want you to focus on your skills...... It is the most important thing in your life now...... The brightest light...... In time, I will take you to Dantooine..... There, we will go to a crystal cave...... And you can select the crystals for your first lightsaber..... After all, you can not wield a training lightsaber forever, it does not prove so worthy in combat...... Your lightsaber will reflect your own abilities..... So choose it's elements wisely..... You can begin designs for the lightsaber now if you wish..... We will be able to construct some of the components here, but the final ones will be found on Dantooine....."
lewy - October 7, 2007 08:39 PM (GMT)
Resei was awed by the place.
The droids seemed so real, he clung to his lightsaber for safety, before realising what he was doing.
"If I am to construct a lightsaber that fits with me, I need to know more. I need to know what components make a lightsaber with what personality. I trust you will in time give me this wisdom?
Perhaps even now?"
Ayanna Nyx - October 8, 2007 02:51 PM (GMT)
"Not now.... Now we shall rest.... You would be best to explore these surroundings since you are not accustomed to this world..... Although do not travel too far.... I am unsure what the situation is on this planet since the end of the war.... No doubt the Empire has a heavy presence here..... We must remain unseen..... If you come across any persons, do not give them your real name, nor where we are.... Best to not give any true facts concerning yourself.... The Emperor and Vader have spies everywhere.... We must be cautious..." She warned her padawan.
lewy - October 8, 2007 09:15 PM (GMT)
"Yes, master. I understand. And, fortunately, sneeking is something I'm quite good at."
He grinned, thinking that it at least came something good out of his career as a Bounty Hunter.
"May the Force be with you, Master Bri."
He bowed, and went out to discover the planet.
Outside, he noticed (apart from the heat) some big, foreign, bolbous growths.
He found them interesting for only a while, and started walking.
After exploring a while, walking peacefully through the desert sand, he noticed that the plants here seemed to grow in scattered oases.
After a while of exploring he concluded that this planet was all the same all over- if you saw spme, you had seen it all.
But then he almost walked right into a settlement.
Luckily this settlement seemed abandoned.
It was small, consisting of only a couple of houses that seemed hastily made, and some of them nearly fully covered in sand.
It must one time have been an oasis, Resei thought.
The houses seemed to be placed in a semi-circular shape, and he could very well imagine they had been built around an oasis now covered with sand, dead and forgotten.
It was when he bent down to examin the sand where he asumed the oasis must have been, when he felt a small tickle in the neck.
It was his hunter's instincts. He was being watched...
He hastily whirled around, with his hand placed on the holdoutblaster under his robe.
But he was not prepared for this...
"Hello, Master," said a voice he knew so good.
At first he did not recognise it, the usual warm passion had been replaced by... Coolness.
"I did not expect to see you here... I thought I had outrun past..."
"M... M... Moirine... Moirine, my darling, I..."
"No. Don't 'darling' me. I know what you're going to say. And I know you mean it from the bottom of your heart. I know you. And perhaps I.. fancied you, once. (She blushed slightly) But... Not any more. What have you done? You have abandoned your career, your starfighter and yourself. You have joined a Jedi. That is not you. You are a Bounty Hunter!"
Resei looked down, for a long time not managing to find the right words.
"Yes... This is me. I am a Jedi. Perhaps not a standard, all-chivalrous one, but I am a Jedi. Bounty Hunter was never my call. Killing was never my destiny. It was merely a stop. And a revenge. Now I no longer have such feelings. I am at peace with myself. And at peace with the force."
"I understand. I never truly knew you... I knew you were kind. You gave me a new freedom. Made me gradually adapt to the free live of someone like yourself."
"I did, and I did it for a purpose. And it has already got this far. I will not deny you to take the last step. Moirine... I grant you freedom. You are no longer my slave, neither officially or unofficially.
You are a free woman, and you are free to do whatever you want.
You have no more ties to me, or to your past, anymore.
Start again, Moirine. Get a life on your own. Start a family, perhaps."
To his surprise, Moirine started to sob softly.
"I... We... Well, this is not at all like I expected... (she tried to laugh, but it sounded just entirely sad) I was going to be free. And I would start a family. But I always thought... I always hoped..."
She didn't manage to go on, and fell onto her knees in the sand, crying.
"You do not need to say more. I understand. I also had that hope, once..."
He walked slowly over to her, and took her hands in his, helping her up.
Then they stood there, facing each other and holding hands, in the abandoned settlement, their shadows getting longer in the sunset.
Resei felt teardrops on his cheek, flowing ever so slowly.
They would never know who took the initiative, but suddenly they were kissing. Long, passionate kisses.
And inbetween, Moirine tried to speak.
"Aaah... Resei... Stay with me..."
"You know... That I cannot... Please do not tempt me... I am not sure I could resist..."
Then their lips finally parted.
"Resei... I.. I.."
"No," he interrupted, and put a finger to her lips.
"Don't say it. It's too difficult already..."
She started sobbing again, and he felt more tears, himself.
He held around her, and whispered comforting words in her ear.
Which ones, he would not remember. But he would never forget the moment.
Then he bent down, and kissed her for the last time.
She stood all still, just trembling lightly.
He walked slowly away, and behind his back, she was still standing there, trembling lightly.
He whispered to her, one last time.
"Goodbye, my dearest Moirine. I will never forget you."
He cried all the way back to the 'base'.
Soft, soundless crying, tears washing dirt of his face.
That evening he was very silent, and was absentminded.
Bri never asked what had happened, and was silent herself.
He got to bed not too soon after the meal, plants boiled in hot water, seemingly some kind of a soup.
He tried not to regret.
But it was darned not easily!
He fell asleep as a new tear appeared in the corner of his eye...
Ayanna Nyx - October 12, 2007 06:12 PM (GMT)
The following morning, Bri sat in the long grass outside their sanctuary and meditated in the quite breeze of this beautiful place. Her mind was far across the stars, communicating with others whose names were not known nor faces seen. Only in this tranquility was she able to once again speak with the remaining Jedi that she had not seen since the days of the Old Republic. She waited patiently for Resei to rise for the day, so that their training could continue.....
lewy - October 12, 2007 06:18 PM (GMT)
When Resei finally woke, he did not go out.
He remained in his bed for about half an hour.
His thoughts where not at the present. They rested in the past.
They rested with Moirine, as he had dreamt he did himself that night.
Finally he sighed conclusive, and got dressed.
When he got out, he found Bri sitting in the grass, meditating.
He sat down next to her.
Ayanna Nyx - October 15, 2007 10:07 PM (GMT)
"Did you rest well Resei? I sense you have a lot on your mind...... Is there something you would like to tell me?" Bri spoke though she never once opened her eyes while she still seemed to be meditating, but she was listening to everything he was about to say.
lewy - October 16, 2007 12:53 PM (GMT)
Resei sighed. Here it came.
"I have put the past behind me for the last time. I met my former... Slave... She is free now, and... It is not something I wish to speak of. Know that the past is no longer going to bother me like that.
The only problem is the hunters... Shall we train now?"
He looked down. He did not like want to speak about the subject again.
Ayanna Nyx - October 17, 2007 09:57 PM (GMT)
"Which skill would you like to improve now out of the ones you have selected for starters?" Bri asked as she readied to begin the lesson.
lewy - October 18, 2007 01:41 PM (GMT)
Resei considered his options for a moment.
"Protection Bubble," he decided.
Ayanna Nyx - October 18, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
"Alright, firstly, I want you to focus on the area around you....... Every molecule that circles you...... Close your eyes and stretch out..... Feel the Force flowing around you........ When you are ready then..... I want you to use that space and force from inside you, a barrier........ You have to feel it with every inch of your body...... You must concentrate...... Take your time....." She said as she stood back, knowing with some students, it did not turn out so well the first time.
lewy - October 18, 2007 09:26 PM (GMT)
Resei focused. He felt the air around him. After a while, he also felt the touch of the force. It was welcome, it made him forget...
Every inch...
He felt it! He felt as though he was a part of it.
Then, he pushed out with the force, not knowing how, but certain he was making a bubble around him.
He opened his eyes, and almost got a shock.
Around him was a transparent, faint bubble.
But what shocked him so nearly, was the fact that his right hand had grown to many times the normal size, and formed a bubble, itself!
He looked terrified at Bri, and tried not to scream or cry.
Ayanna Nyx - October 19, 2007 08:43 PM (GMT)
Bri immediately stretched out her hand, force pushing the bubble and returning Resei to his normal state.
"Are you alright padawan? Don't worry.... You did a good job..... Better than I had expected...... You just need to learn to channel your energy, focus.... It will take time.... But as long as you keep practicing, you will achieve it......."
Bri sat herself on one of the broken logs.
"You have a lot of potential young one, and the desire to prove yourself..... Just remember not to be in too much of a hurray.... You must be patient with yourself and with others...... For now, there is something else that I will teach you...... We already tried precognition, and now the protection bubble..... Now we will try to focus on the mind trick....... It is not something that you will be able to practice with me so well.... It will only work on the weak minded.... It is a fairly simple trick...... Something all Jedi can achieve very quickly....... All you have to do is focus on an individual and read their thoughts..... The weaker the mental capacity of the individual, the clearer the thoughts will be to read.... And also the easier to implant ideas into their heads and convince them to do something against their will.... But it is a talent that you must use carefully......." She looked around her, "This planet has been a good holding place for us the past days..... But I feel that we must press on...... If you are to practice such skills as precognition and mind tricks, you must do that in a populated area..... Precognition can be used in battle but also for other things....... Although it is not a planet where you can find the best company, I feel we would blend better on a planet like Ryloth or Nar Shaddaa..... Which would you prefer? Have you been to either before?" She asked curiously.
OOC: In your profile settings under Force abilities add: Precognition Lv.1 and Protection Bubble Lv.1 ;)
lewy - October 19, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
(yaaayy!!!! ;) )
"I was to Ryloth, once..." Resei's lok got glacy, as he remembered his first meeting with Moirine.
"I was also to Nar Shaddaa... Believe me, it is not a place I will lightly visit again... It is all up to you, but I wold prefer Ryloth..." Again his mind drifted away.
Ayanna Nyx - October 20, 2007 12:14 AM (GMT)
"We shall leave for Ryloth...... But you will need to learn to blend into the crowd easily.... It is more difficult for me, but for you it should be no problem...... If you still have your clothes from the days you were a Bounty Hunter, I would wear them, will stop people from bothering you........ We will leave immediately...... There is little point in staying longer than we need to......" Bri spoke as she headed back to the refuge to gather her things.
lewy - October 20, 2007 07:53 AM (GMT)
Resei again equpped his Bounty Hunter armour over his rough clothes.
He didn't like how well it fit, but that was something he had to live with.
"Then we go?"
And they did.
Ayanna Nyx - September 15, 2008 12:53 AM (GMT)
It was not too long before they finally arrived on the planet, Ayanna had been given time to rest which was something she desperately needed. She felt a sense of peace again, though she was troubled that the days before she had wakened were rather fuzzy. She remembered some things but not completely.
Once the ship had landed, Alluria walked down the ramp of the ship as she began to look around. It was perfect, the Empire certainly did not have a presence here and that's exactly what she was hoping for. She ran back on board to gather up a few items, there was an old abandonded facility which would be perfect for them to sleep in. She was all too aware that the Separatists were based here during the Clone Wars and this was likely one of their old war camps. But as long as it provided a roof over their heads, then she didn't mind.
"Right common everyone, get your stuff and we'll move inside. If you see a droid, stay calm, long gone!" She laughed as she headed towards the building herself.
As she entered inside, she coughed as the air was very dusty, it would certainly need a good cleaning but at least she felt they were in luck, there were places to sleep, train and even old machines and terminals that should function again once Kalin would get his technical hands on them.
Ayanna too stepped off the ship, taking a deep breath before exhaling. She looked back up the ramp to see where Kalin was,
"Kalin?.... Kalin?" She called up the ramp as she waited for him.
Kalin Thalis - September 15, 2008 01:00 AM (GMT)
Qurhon walked down the ramp. He just had another conversation with Kalin and said to Ayanna to give him some time,
"Please Ayanna, I know things weren't easy for you either, but Kalin is going through a hard time now, he needs some space, some time to think. He wanted me to talk to you about something. While we observe the base, he's going to get rid of the homing beacon to put the Empire on the wrong track. But in the mean time, we should talk about something serious. It's about your training."
The ramp went up and not much longer the Thranta disappeared.
"Don't worry he won't stay away long, but he still needs time to think about everything that has happened. He feels heartbroken. And I'm sure you felt the same. But he is a confused man right now. And of course he is concerned about you. About your teachings... Another reason he talked to me. I only accepted this with reluctance but if you agree he wants me to become your new master. He thinks he's only a bad example. He can't be your teacher anymore. At least not for a while. He asked me to help you closer to the light, he knows I can help you with that. I thought myself too that's a bit of a rash decision, but I can't say that it's completely wrong what he's trying to do..."
Ayanna Nyx - September 15, 2008 01:11 AM (GMT)
Ayanna listened to what Qurhon was saying, and she knew already that there was something hidden in the words he said, which made her listen extra carefully, and through that she began to understand what this was really about, "Qurhon, I really appreciate what you're trying to say, and I think that it should not be you telling me this now. You even said yourself this was all with 'reluctance', I can tell what's happened. I can see it in your eyes and hidden behind every word you said.... It's over isn't it, it's all over. He doesn't want to be with me anymore does he...." She sighed, though she stayed rather calm, "I think I always knew this would happen, I just hoped it wouldn't." She said before sitting herself down on a rock outside the facility, she thought for a long moment before continuing, "This burden has been placed on you, you don't have a padawan and I'm wondering if you're only taking this for Kalin's sake, if that's the case then it's alright, you don't have to. Like I said I appreciate it but, I don't really like the idea of being auctioned off so much." She spoke in a gentle manner, her heart was broken but she kept it contained, "I don't think it was just Zaria was it, he never really wanted me I think, I don't know. I just wish that..... I just wish that I was able to sever my feelings for him the way he did for me. I should never have confronted him with the way I felt, maybe he was confused, alone, I don't know." She lowered her head, taking a deep breath, "Thank you Qurhon for your help, the last thing I remember before I woke up last night was speaking to you, you're a good listener...."
Kalin Thalis - September 15, 2008 01:18 AM (GMT)
Qurhon talked to her in a most gentle way, "Listen Ayanna. I'm not doing this just to play a messenger for him. He does still love you, but there are other things at hand that makes him feel confused, conflicted. And the fact he's now so wanted by the empire doesn't make it any better. And I only agreed to train you because I know he's right about a few things concerning training... You need more guidance to the light. That way we can prevent that Zaria gets ever created. I can help you to get rid of Zaria once and for all. The only reason I felt reluctance is because I was afraid how you would respond on this. I was afraid you were going to get too hurt and feel hatred for him again, and worse possibly even create Zaria again. But I think that you are wise and you would be an excellent apprentice and he is right, you need guidance to the light, while he told me he needed guidance himself. Now he's not just leaving you behind... He'll return quickly once he removed the homing device, but yes... I would again prepare for the worst. And be understandable. Believe me I understand you too and why you feel this way. Attachments are always such tricky things. You saw what happened between Alluria and Kalin, that ended really bad. It's a miracle they made some peace, even though relations are still a bit shattered. Now I just ask you to stay calm once he returned and be happy with anything that is given. Calm yourself and hope that you still can be friends. Maybe it was not just meant to be, but I have no doubt that he truly loved you. He did, and maybe still does, but there are other factors at hand that brought us to this conclusion..."
Ayanna Nyx - September 15, 2008 01:30 AM (GMT)
She nodded while listening to him, "I'm not going to fly off the handle Qurhon, I feel the same as I did the last time Zaria left me. I don't feel any hatred or anger, but I do feel hurt now, I won't lie about that. I've always loved him, more than anything in my life. But I'm not going to hold on to the hope that he still loves me, that would be like leaping for a branch that isn't there, all you can do is crash, fall.... I will not burden him with my feelings on this, I promise." She said, as a few tears glazed down her cheek, "I'll accept to be your apprentice, I appreciate you taking me on. Now I am your burden to bear, I only hope that it will not be too long. But don't ask me to forget how I feel about him, it will always be that way, my heart will remain open for him but I know he'll never reciprocate." Ayanna tried to keep most of what she thought to herself, she was too sore, too full of sorrow to go on, and she did not want to trouble him with it. She did not feel any bitterness towards Kalin, she felt only a failing on her part, and the fact they had only sealed their 'love' so recently made her feel exposed and naked, perhaps even used but she did not want to punish him for those things, "I'm not sure if it's wise that Kalin sees me so soon, I understand the problems with Zaria but, I can't explain to you what it's like."
Kalin Thalis - September 15, 2008 01:36 AM (GMT)
"Well I undestand you don't want to see him, but if you want, we can leave for Naboo and start training immediately, besides you're not my burden to bear. You have lots of potential. If you complete your training, you will make me proud and you will feel a certain satisfaction that will make you feel better, I promise."
Meanwhile on some isolated planet, Kalin researched the ship searching for any homing devices. In security the Empire had attached two, Kalin removed them both and attached them to another ship. it was a miracle that on this planet you would find another. He attached it and quickly left like the wind. The Thranta took back off, but he felt pain in his heart and doubt how he would approach Ayanna. He himself was in lots of pain. Feeling doubt if the love he felt for her was real. And he was afraid of her anger, her hatred. Somehow he hoped that this wouldn't provoke the return of Zaria.
Ayanna Nyx - September 15, 2008 01:42 AM (GMT)
Ayanna looked up to Qurhon, "Naboo? Why there? I thought we were here for training, I'd rather stay with the group than spread out. At least here there is Amelia and that other girl, her name escapes me, but I think it would be healthier for me. I've never had much human contact, plus you would still be here with your friends as well. I know you care for both of them, I understand that. And I know Kalin will have his duties to fulfill as he always does, but don't misunderstand me, it's not that I don't want to see him. Of course I do, I love him, but if he feels this way about me now after everything that has happened, maybe it's best he doesn't? I don't know, really I don't. I just wish he wouldn't.... Abandon me completely. I must've really hurt him myself, disturbed him, I don't know. I felt a lot of anger towards Alluria as well even though I shouldn't have. She didn't provoke anything, I know this." She sighed, "That's the problem, I find it difficult to sway in the middle Qurhon. If I focus on the light, then I'm there, always, but if I focus on the dark, then the same applies. I find it hard to balance, and that's when it get jealous, angry, hateful. I'm not like that.... Not naturally....."
Kalin Thalis - September 15, 2008 01:50 AM (GMT)
"Kalin won't stay long here anyway. He was planning to leave soon. He knew he wasn't going to become a Jedi anyway. I said he didn't want to reveal any of his plans so we wouldn't know his location, so that we could't endanger him in any way should we do get captured. I understand why he wants to be alone. He's a very sensitive person and as I said not only your heart is broken, his is too... I'm not sure if its beyond repair but you have to give it time and he thought it would be wise to use that time for your re-training. To bring you closer to the light, to get rid of Zaria once and for all. Now we can stay here, but you'll have to confront him, or we can just go to Naboo for the time being and return later. I have the feelings Amelia and Alluria would return to Naboo anyway. It's where they started to train, if I'm not mistaken. It's your choice, Ayanna... You can save yourself the pain from seeing himself again or you can confront him, which could solve some questions you have in mind." Qurhon explained.
Ayanna Nyx - September 15, 2008 12:12 PM (GMT)
"I'm not afraid of seeing him again Qurhon, I'm not a coward, I thought he and I were friends before anything else. Has it already come to this? Not even a proper goodbye? Saying all this through his friends and not for himself?..... It's not right, I just wish... I just wish I could make him understand about Zaria. She 's not connected to me personally, she is not related to my personality, not my true personality." She sighed, "What does it matter, if this is the way Kalin wants things to be then I will not be the one to disappoint him." She said before finally standing and walking into the facility where Alluria was stood.
The twi'lek turned around, surprised to see Ayanna looking so different, "Ayanna? Well it's nice to see a change in you, how are you feeling?"
Ayanna felt a little ashamed but still pushed herself to speak, "I can't say I'm at my best but, well I wanted to apologize to you."
"Apologize? For what?"
"For everything, I know I was very nasty to you and it's not something I'm proud about. Qurhon is going to train me now in the Light Side of the Force. Kalin it seems does not want to, well, continue things the way they were and I'm not going to fight and kick and scream about it."
Alluria felt rotten hearing all of this, "You should be proud of yourself, you're very different than the girl who first came with us on this journey. And concerning Kalin, just give him some time, really."
Ayanna smiled a little, "I'll always be waiting for him Alluria, but I know he'll never come. But I know you and Qurhon will make sure he's alright, anyway, I'm not exactly sure what's going to happen now. Qurhon spoke of going to Naboo, I'm not going to argue with him...."
Alluria pulled herself to giving Ayanna a hug before stepping back, "You'll be fine." She smiled before Ayanna turned and walked back outside to where Qurhon was waiting.
Kalin Thalis - September 15, 2008 01:02 PM (GMT)
"Well if we have to reach Naboo, we have some walking to do, we have no transport and the nearest town is a few miles ahead." Qurhon explained, however he looked up in the sky and saw the Thranta was making a landing again. As it landed the ramp lowered, Kalin walked down from it, with a look like he was depressed, defeated, though now they were one step ahead of the Empire. Seems the plan to avoid an encounter with Kalin was now jeopardized. Now they had no choice but to talk. Who was going to make the first move, however.
Though Kalin was no coward either and didn't hesitate to approach Ayanna,
"Ayanna, by now you know most of the truth of what is going to happen. I'll leave to a remote planet where I'll train myself." He said though he was lying, "You on the other hand... I cannot teach you. Though I'm not consumed by the Dark, I'm far too close to it, which makes me an incapable teacher to bring you back to the light. I wish I never brought you to the Dark in the first place. I'm so sorry about that. Qurhon will be a fine teacher, and I have no doubt you'll be an excellent Padawan. About other matters, I just need a break, need time to think things over. I feel confused so I need some space, some time alone. Don't think that this means I never loved you, I do... It's one of the reasons I'm doing this. I hope you believe me. I do love you, but love isn't enough to hold a strong relationship, but I will try to set things right and I will drive forward for us to have a more normal relationship. But I can't promise anything..." Kalin said with a sigh.
Ayanna Nyx - September 15, 2008 01:27 PM (GMT)
Ayanna remained calm, she did not feel bitter but still spoke honestly, it was painful to be near him and not be with him as he had promised he would remain, she felt a fool to have listened to his promises, that he would never hurt her, when already he did, "I can't make any promises either Kalin... And I'm not going to hope to see your face again, let alone win your love back, for I know where you heart truly lies, I think I always did but chose to ignore it. But I'm not going to hold any bitterness towards you, I don't have any anger or hatred concerning you or Alluria, who I already made peace with." She said as she referred to the words that she had said to Alluria, though Kalin was unaware of this, "Perhaps one day we'll meet again, I'm certain you and Qurhon at least will. I can only thank you for what you did for me, otherwise I would have been in a worse place I think. And perhaps you will still think of me as a friend." She said as she confirmed she didn't think he truly loved her, she could not believe that but she did not grudge him of it, she merely tried to stay rational, even though things were not exactly that way. She stepped back a little, more towards Qurhon, unsure if Kalin had more to say to her, but she found i difficult to look him in the eye.
Kalin Thalis - September 15, 2008 02:04 PM (GMT)
Kalin nodded in agreement, "Yes I hope that no matter what happens, no matter how our fate will be shaped, that we will always be friends. I don't want to part in bad terms. I just hope that Qurhon will be able to shape a better future for you, one with or without you... The Force will decide... Know that you'll always have a special place in my heart. That I'll never stop thinking of you even though we are not together. One day I will find you again. I promise."
Kalin kissed Ayanna on her forehead. He looked at her with a somber expression and tried to make a faint smile as a gesture of hope. Qurhon looked at Kalin and placed his hand over Ayanna's shoulder,
"Come I think it is time to finally leave... My padawan." Qurhon said as they finally left in the direction of the city. Kalin turned around to board the ramp again of his ship. Though he turned around and thought it would be impolite to leave without saying goodbye to his other friends.
He waited until Qurhon and Ayanna were already walking beyond the horizon, so it would be impossible for them to see that he entered the facility. He was afraid Ayanna might presume that indeed more was going on between him and Alluria and though he had certain feelings for Alluria, they were just friends and he hoped Ayanna knew that. "Alluria? I've come to say goodbye... To all of you. Qurhon just left with Ayanna. It's not really the brightest day of my life. I just feel so empty, so hollow. But I guess loneliness is part of being a Jedi..."
Ayanna Nyx - September 15, 2008 02:16 PM (GMT)
Alluria sighed, "I think I will take Amelia and Asané back to Naboo, I think Qurhon is heading there also but Amelia needs to be at her home, her stay away from her duties was never meant to be permanent, and Asané, well i don't think she should concern herself with hiding so much anymore, she should stay away from the cities, but then again so will I. I hope you know what you're doing Kalin, Ayanna seems very changed, I barely recognized her when she came to speak to me. Where do you think you will go?" She asked as she folded her arms.
Ayanna walked by Qurhon's side, she felt sad she didn't get the chance to say goodbye to Amelia especially, though she still had the comlink that they would be able to speak over. She was not sure what to say to Qurhon, she barely knew the man and she could not help but think all of this was some form of punishment rather than a path towards redemption.
Kalin Thalis - September 15, 2008 02:21 PM (GMT)
Qurhon spoke to Ayanna, "I sense much conflict in you, Ayanna. It's only natural, but as your master you must trust me and talk to me about this. Only then will I be able to truly help you. A bond between master and apprentice is vital for your training."
Kalin looked at Alluria with sad eyes, "I think I know what I'm doing, maybe I don't... Still I trust in the Force and what I'm doing is best for us all. I will not tell you where I am going. I will shape my own destiny and I will drive for a better future, but I cannot say more. If you want to reach Naboo I can give you a lift, but do not ask me to stay there. I want to avoid another confrontation with Qurhon or Ayanna at all cost..."
Ayanna Nyx - September 15, 2008 02:27 PM (GMT)
"I didn't realize you had a confrontation with Ayanna already, But I understand where you're coming from, a lift would be appreciated, otherwise me and the others have no way to get off this rock." She laughed slightly, "I'll keep an eye on Ayanna for you, though I'm sure she's in good hands with Qurhon, I'm certain he was be a great Master and teacher for her. It will be nice to return to Naboo again, I have been slacking in my teachings for Amelia, she needs more training but after everything that has happened recently, it has made it difficult." She said with a slight sigh.
Ayanna looked to Qurhon as they walked, "I think you already know where the trouble lies with me, but don't worry. As I said to Kalin it's not bitter, I just feel very.... Sad. Alone." She paused, "I suppose I really should be calling you master now shouldn't I.... I won't disappoint you, I'll be a good listener, a good learner. I just wish I could rid myself of this hole in my heart, in my gut, I feel back stabbed and I know I shouldn't. But it will heal in time I suppose?" She asked looking to him before remembering her place, "Master..."
Kalin Thalis - September 15, 2008 02:32 PM (GMT)
While walking Qurhon always kept his hand on Ayanna's shoulder, "It will heal, you just have to give it time. I just want to ask you one thing. Don't let your feelings distract yourself in your training otherwise it could bring you closer to the Dark Side again."
Kalin pointed his finger to the Thranta, "Okay we can leave immediately, if you like. We will reach Naboo fast and now without the Empire behind our tail. I've got rid of every homing beacon attached to the ship, so we should be safe.
Ayanna Nyx - September 15, 2008 02:42 PM (GMT)
Alluria sighed, "Alright then...." She found it a little strange that they had to come all the way here just to leave again, although she did not think that things were going to unfold as they did. She was happy at least to take Amelia home, and though she knew that Asané would be worried about where they were going to be heading, she knew that a part of her would also be glad to see Theed again.
Alluria walked into the ship, already feeling a great weight on her shoulders of everything that had happened, she felt partially responsible and it was not something that made her feel in the least bit proud. She sat herself in the co-pilot seat as she waited for Kalin to pilot the Thranta off of the system, "Here we go again!" Alluria said sarcastically.
Kalin Thalis - September 15, 2008 02:52 PM (GMT)
Though Alluria was slightly sarcastic Kalin stayed serious, "Any bad feelings of going back to Naboo, Alluria... I remember when we once.... Nevermind... I mean do you have any bad feelings in general now. I sense some conflict in you too."
Kalin brought the ship out of the atmosphere, placed in the coordinates for Naboo and finally the ship made its jump through hyperspace.
"I thought you would be delighted to see Naboo again, or at least be happy for your apprentice. She seems very fond of the planet..."
Ayanna Nyx - September 15, 2008 02:55 PM (GMT)
She shook her head, "I never felt bad returning to Naboo, why would I? It's a beautiful planet, and I'm glad to be going back there. And yes, Amelia I'm sure will be happy, Naboo is after all her home. It was terrible of me to take her away from it for so long, I know that other Masters would ask that she never set foot there again, but I'm not like other Masters. We have to evolve our way of thinking in order to survive." She then thought about what Kalin had said of her being conflicted, "Well, I suppose I feel that way especially because of what has happened with Ayanna, and also the things that she said to me the last time that her and I spoke...."
Kalin Thalis - September 15, 2008 03:04 PM (GMT)
Kalin was very interested in what she said about Ayanna, "Oh, anything I should know about. If you don't wish to tell me then that's fine. I'll respect her privacy. It was me after all who decided to split up. And I don't feel any regret towards that decision. She needs a good role model, not someone like me. What I will do is someting that neither a Sith or a Jedi would do. That is all I can say. "
Ayanna Nyx - September 15, 2008 03:09 PM (GMT)
"Oh don't worry, she was very kind to me, that's the problem. She had always been rather harsh or giving me dirty looks, now she apologized for all that and was very kind. We even hugged goodbye, I felt so sorry for her if the truth be told. I think you were a little harsh on her but it is your decision and your feelings involved here, not mine. But, I hadn't met Ayanna before until she came to see me. She wasn't the same woman I met on Naboo, Alderaan or any other place, it was rather strange if I'm honest. I agree the Dark Side of the Force was not good for her, but it wouldn't be good for me either, anybody. And you above all need to be careful." She said before sighing, "What do you plan to do? What happens when Ayanna is a Jedi Knight? If she gets that far that is, what then? And you, what will you do? It is very difficult to walk in the middle, that's something that Ayanna told me herself. She said that if she were to walk in the light, she would be devoted to it, and the same for the Dark Side, but she was unstable in the middle.... Do you think you will be able to handle it differently?" She asked curious.
Kalin Thalis - September 15, 2008 03:20 PM (GMT)
"Hmmm yes that is where me and Ayanna are different. Ayanna had difficulty standing in the middle as me. Sometimes she would stand more in the light, but often the Dark was too attractive for her. She was pulled from one side to the other. She changed to much which made her unstable. Me on the other hand I can stand perfectly in the middle, though I had trouble too in the past. Now I need to find out what manipulated me on Coruscant. If it is a new enemy we are facing then I have to discover them." Kalin silenced for a moment realizing he perhaps said too much, "Anyway learning of both the dark and the light gave me new insights of the Force I would have never learned if I just looked at one side. Dying gave me another experience. I became one with the Force and learned so much which would have taken me years. But the concept of time didn't exist in the Living Force, that's how I learned so fast. A second there would be years here in this galaxy. Now I will find my new destiny and hope to fulfill it."
