Title: Jedi Hunter Training Grounds
lewy - August 16, 2007 03:47 PM (GMT)
Resei walked into the Jedi Hunter Training Grounds whit mixed feelings.
His head was in a total chaos, and he didn't even notice the sceptical looks he received from the few Jedi Hunters present.
He barely manage to speak through the mental fog when he approached the man he thought was in charge.
"Resei Mantok, Fett told me to report here?"
"Nice for you. But the one you seek is the Mandalorian over there," he said, and directed Resei to a Mandalorian who stood in a corner, watching the others witha sceptical frown.
"Resei Mantok, Sir. I was told by Fett to report here...?"
Taves Sarfell - August 16, 2007 04:26 PM (GMT)
"Ah, yes the new trainee. Fett said you would be coming." The trainer was six feet tall, lean, and muscled. It looked like he didn't like to shave by the stubble that made a five o'clock shadow on his face. "Hmm I've seen worse" he said motioning for Resei to follow him.
"Unlike what you've hunted before" said the instructor "you are about to face an enemy that is infinitely more dangerous, and deceiving than any normal being. The Jedi if they still hold to their code of peace will usually not kill you until you start an attack. This is something that you must be wary of. Even though they won't kill you without reason they are some of the most deadly warriors I've ever seen. Now the Sith... well" the teacher turned to Resei, giving him a morbid smile. "The Sith might just kill you for the fun of it."
He turned and faced Resei. "Have you ever encountered a real force user? You know not like the one Fett used for our hopefuls?"
lewy - August 16, 2007 06:03 PM (GMT)
Resei almost smiled at the memory.
He had just met all too many real Sith...
"I did meet Vader once, and then this other Sith pushed me into a tree without touching me..."
Taves Sarfell - August 16, 2007 11:02 PM (GMT)
"Hmm Vader" said the trainer. "Not many see him. Well then, on that other occasion you had an experience of something that makes a force sensitive so deadly. Though they usually do not use a great deal of the force when they fight non force sensitives. Usually the Jedi don't because they don't wish to destroy you. The Sith" he said giving yet another morbid smile "they just wish to play with their food most of the time."
"Although there are some ways to protect against the force they are needless to say few and far between. The thing that we are most readily available to combat is this" he turned around, taking a lightsaber hilt from his armor. "This is the weapon of a Jedi. If you can use one of these then you have a better chance of not getting your limbs chopped off. As you know, blasters are rather ineffective against a Jedi so you will learn to use this weapon."
He took a training saber from a rack and handed it to Resei. "Unlike weapons that you had when you started bounty hunter training this is not to be used other than on this planet unless I say otherwise. Once you master the use of this then you will receive a real one. You will be able to use that one on missions. Other than that there is little more I have to say to you now. Any questions?"
lewy - August 16, 2007 11:48 PM (GMT)
Resei hoped what the trainer had said about Sith and food was just a metaphore. He was not entirely sure, however...
When his trainer gave him the training saber, Resei held it with awe.
It was a perfect weapon, even though it was just a low-powered training saber. So beautiful... So deadly...
He nodded to let the trainer know he understood the 'terms of use'.
"Just one last question. Do these things hurt?"
Almost before Resei had finished the sentence the trainer again showed his morbide grin.
Resei got a nasty feeling he knew what was coming, and that the question he was asking had been asked just so many times before...
And, true.
Even though he knew it was coming, Resei could never have blocked the strike from the training saber suddenly in the trainers hand...
The pain in his left side almost knocked him down, and he had to almost bend double, fighting to regain breath.
"OK, OK, I get it," he managed between the heavy breaths.
The trainer grinned again, and Resei knew he was going to get a hard lesson already...
Straightening once again, turning the training saber on, he faced the trainer, and a good beating...
Taves Sarfell - August 17, 2007 12:33 AM (GMT)
The trainer came forward with a flurry of complicated blows. Resei was good, but he was not accustomed to a lightsaber as he was. Eventually Resei's blade was knocked from his hands. The trainer then gave Resei a good blow to the calve knocking him to the ground.
"You'll have to be better than that to fight a Jedi, much less me. You are not yet ready to face me so you will train with another Jedi Hunter, my protege Krane Jo-Rel. Once you are good enough to best him you will have another bout with me. Once you have proven yourself worthy against me you will continue further. Get out of my sight."
The trainer deactivated his blade and walked away to another pair of Jedi Hunters.
(OOC: For your fights with Krane just post them unless you need to talk to him then I'll answer for him)
lewy - August 17, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
Resei was rather beaten, and figured he had a lot more coming up.
Not daring to ask the other trainer, he went around looking for this Krane Jo-Rel...
"I am sorry, Sir, but do you know where I could find a Krane Jo-Rel?"
"The human Jedi hunter grunted, and pointed towards a small group of other Jedi Hunters.
Walking over to them, Resei thought about how little he felt now. Having to call everybody for Sir, again, as he was the newcomer... Not the opposite, as it had been while he was an Instructor.
The small group had been standing in such a way that they hid what was going on behind them.
When Resei approached they hesitantly made room for him, allowing him to see what was going on.
Two Jedi Hunters were whirwling around each others, delivering nimbly, rapid blows, and sometimes engaging in longer duels.
It all happened so fast, Resei could barely follow it with hs eyes, it was more like a lot of light whirling around.
What was indeed interesting was who the two competitors were.
One male Twi'lek, and one big, hairy... Wookiee!
"I'm sorry," he whispered to the man next to him, just loudly to be heard, "but which one of you would be Krane Jo-Rel?"
"The Wookiee. Now shut your mouth!"
After a short while the battle was over, and the Wookiee rested his foot on the face of the Twi'lek, who laid exhausted on the ground.
The small crowd clapped, and scattered.
A small droid then flew over to the Wookiee, obviously a translation droid.
Resei approached the Wookiee.
"I am sorry, but is there any chance you might be Krane Jo-Rel?"
"Roooaarrr ooorrroohaaa roooooaarr roooaarrr ooorrroohaaa roooooaarr."
The small ball-shaped droid started to translate immediately.
"He is, though his real name is.. uhm..." "Rooogrrooaaar," the Wookiee roared to help.
"...uhm, yes, excactly. But all human call him Krane Jo-Rel. What do you want?"
"A main saying you were his protege sent me to train with you, after he figured he was all too-good for me..."
"Roooaarrr ooorrroohaaa roooooaarr!"
"He will be happy to train with you, and teach you the art of the lightsaber!"
Then the trio went to a silent place for practising, the Wookiee realising that Resei would want to restrain from (another) public disgrace, prefering the smaller disgrace this would anyway be...
(OOC: I'll start posting the training itself tomorrow. Hope you don't mind I made him a Wookiee and replied a little for him, I figured it was too little to bug you with... Simply light remoting)
lewy - August 18, 2007 02:30 PM (GMT)
Resei faced the big Wookiee in a far, dark corner of the training grounds, with the training-lightsaber in his hands.
The Wookiee nodded at him, it was him who should attack and show what he could, that the Wookiee could have an idea of what to teach him.
Resei thought for a moment, then nodded back, knowing what move to use.
He ran towards the Wookiee, and then slashed downwards, in a common strike. However, when the Wookiee met the blade to parry easily, Resei swung the lightsaber backwards in a fancy move, going 360 degrees around his hand, using his wrist.
This resulted in an unexpected strike, upwards from below the Wookiees guard.
However, this was a difficult move, and Resei was not quite used to the lightsabers ‘curious’ weight, thus striking slow enough for the Wookiee to manage parrying.
Reseis grip on the lightsaber was in that moment vulnerable because of the difficult move he had just made, and when the Wookiee parried, Resei found himself suddenly disarmed. The Wookiee made a growl, and the translation droid, hovering in the air at a safe distance, translated.
“He do not think you are all too-bad, but he advices you to do something more easy now in the beginning. The name he called you by was actually ‘hotshot’. I just thought I should mention it...”
Resei smiled again, and, picking up his lightsaber, he prepared for the Wookiees attack.
The Wookiee charged at him, with the training-lightsaber in front of him as to stab Resei.
Blocking would be difficult... I could also dodge, but that would make me vulnerable for a strike in the side, he thought. He did not have much time to think, however.
He dodged to the left, and as predicted, the Wookiee changed the direction of the lightsaber, making the stab actually a swing towards Reseis side. Resei was, however, prepared for that, and had his training lightsaber up to protect against the strike. The blades met, and for a few seconds they were pushing them against the other. Desperate, knowing he was not nearly as strong as the Wookiee, Resei kicked. The kick hit the Wookiee in its leg, and the Wookiee roared in anger more than pain.
With a sudden burst it hit Resei in his stomach, sending him flying.
“He apologies, he says it was just a reaction...”
Resei got to his legs, and sighed. This would be a long day...
"To block a stab, he says you must either dodge, or force it around you. Now, you attack."
Resei sighed again. It would be a really long day...
He attacked again, engaging the Wookiee in a long series of strikes.
lewy - August 18, 2007 10:40 PM (GMT)
(OOC: This happens nearly a month after the last post, and in the mean time we have trained a lot, and I have improved a bit. I am getting to know my opponent. And we have gotten out of the dark corner and into public.)
Resei felt he was getting more defensive. The continuous, hard strikes from the Wookiee forced him to stop attacking.
The Wookiee was indeed better than he himself. But less so now than it had been when they first battled almost a week ago. Resei could honestly not remember ever having been so soar and achy anytime before.
He knew that this Wookiee was probably nothing compared to a skilled Jedi or Sith.
And he would eventually have to fight one of them...
He hoped he would not have to fight any of the latter. They were just all too like himself... And at the same time he didn’t want to fight a Jedi either, remembering that time in his childhood’s streets of Coruscant...
But should it one day be necessary to choose, he would probably pick a Jedi.
He had learned they were more likely to cut off your weapon-arm instead of other, more vital limbs...
The Wookiee lashed out a strike that would have knocked Resei conscious if it had hit him in the side, as supposed to. But Resei blocked it, and answered with a series of complicate moves. The Wookiee managed to follow him, but had lost the edge of being the attacker. Resei had learned by days of training that the Wookiee was best when he was the aggressive one.
Resei had to push his advantage to its absolute uttermost.
He started fighting with quick strikes, spread over most of the Wookiees body, a harassing style of fighting he knew the Wookiee didn’t like.
All the time he was looking for an opening in the Wookiees guard, while watching his own, and keeping the Wookiee from regaining the aggressive part.
Sweat was dripping from all over him. He had to end the battle fast, or the Wookiees stamina would decide the victor...
Then there was an opening, Resei couldn’t believe it first. He had found the solution. There was no opening. But he could make one!
17 Lessons in lightsaber combat number 17, by Resei Mantok. If there’s no opening, make one.
He knew the Wookiee well enough to do it.
Why not give it a try?
With a slight move he opened a little hole in his defences. The Wookiee saw it, and, thinking it was an accident from Reseis side, he took advantage of it.
After parrying Reseis attack, he swung the lightsaber towards the weak point in Reseis defence, in shoulder height. Resei knew the Wookiee would react like that, and in the moment before it hit, Resei, all the time having full control of the Wookiees strike, knowing when it would do what, ducked. The Wookiee had thought he had the victory secured, and did not expect it to be a trick from Reseis side. In the moment he ducked, Resei stabbed the furry belly of the Wookiee...
Applauds rose from the small audience. The Wookiee stared in disbelief at the training lightsaber in his fur. He groaned silently in pain, and, when Resei turned the training lightsaber off, he applauded with the others.
“Well done,” the translation droid exclaimed after a roar from the Wookiee.
“You have finally beaten him! He says you will soon be ready to meet the leader again, but first you will have to take control over the whole match, not only winning by clever tricks, even though that will be your only chance against a real Jedi or Sith. But there will be no clever moves if you do not learn how to follow their moves through the battle.”
Resei smiled. It would not take long. This was a turning point. He knew it.
lewy - August 19, 2007 01:02 AM (GMT)
(OOC: This happen another month after last post, where Resei has gradually started controlling the battles.)
Resei had been practising with a few other Jedi Hunters a couple of times, as not to get used to only fighting the Wookiee with the same style.
It didn’t seem it was very necessary, though. They all had nearly the same style.
This made it a bit easy after a while, and he felt ready to meet the leader again.
However, the Wookiee had told him they should have one more battle. Depending on the outcome and what happened in it, Resei would be considered ready for the leader.
This time there were a lot of spectators. It seemed the word had spread; this could be the last battle between the newcomer and the Wookiee.
Then the battle could begin.
The Wookiee waited. This was going to be one of those battles, Resei thought, and attacked.
He suspected the Wookiee would have something special waiting for him, and approached slowly, the training lightsaber ready for whatever awaited.
Then the Wookiee suddenly leaped at him.
It jumped, and drew its training lightsaber downwards in a deadly slam.
Resei had to dodge, and rolled on the ground, quickly rising again, and turning.
Then the Wookiee shot.
Resei didn’t know where the holdout-blaster in the Wookiee’s hand came from.
All he knew was that by reflex he had blocked it with his training lightsaber, and it had been deflected, and almost hit a spectator.
Resei watched the Wookiee with shock for a moment.
So this was what the spectators had come for.
The next shot woke him, however, and, deflecting it, he leaped at the Wookiee.
He charged at it, and in the moment it shot again, he rolled, and rose right in front of it.
With a quick swing with the training lightsaber he sent the blaster flying above the audience.
Then he had to parry a strike from the Wookiee’s training lightsaber, and withdrew.
The Wookiee charged at him, with furious powers, and a whole new style.
Resei barely followed, and was already getting tired.
The he found a new strategy.
Instead of blocking all the hard strikes, he let some of the pass, and merely moved away from them.
Then he attacked. The Wookiee had just leashed out an extraordinary hard swing, which Resei had dodged. Then, when the blade was away, finishing the swing, he attacked.
The Wookiee had no choice, and with one hand he punched Resei, sending him flying.
Rising again, Resei was furious.
He would give the Wookiee a fight to remember...
Letting the Wookiee attack first, Resei engaged it in a furious duel.
They could not see their lightsabers, just a blinding light, and Resei had to close his eyes and feel the duel.
Then he withdrew, and tried another style.
This one was arrogant, involving many more fancy moves than needed, and he made sure the make it all seem lazy.
Swinging the lightsaber with ease, letting the Wookiees hard strikes merely glide of it when he met it, mostly attacking from beneath.
Then he started harassing it with quick blows.
Then he suddenly started attacking furious and with no plan.
He kept switching styles, always with no warning on beforehand and not always making them last the same long.
This started to confuse the Wookiee, forcing it to rapidly having to change style itself.
It mostly had to improvise, as Resei did.
Then Resei decided it was time.
He swung the blade in an obvious strike from below.
When the Wookie swung its blade to down parry easily, Resei suddenly spun his blade around using his wrist, and stroked from above.
This time it did not fail as it had done last time.
He hit the Wookiee diagonally between its throat and its shoulder, a move that would have chopped of its head if it had been a real lightsaber.
The audience applauded, and when the Wookiee managed to make a sound through its pain, it was (according to the translation droid):
“Excellent. You are now ready to face the leader.”
Resei vaguely suspected that it all had been a groan of pain, but said nothing.
He was ready, and he knew it.

(OOC: Ok Lewy, the post was good, but remember that just because you have a lightsaber doesn't mean that you are a Jedi. The post seemed to hint unrecognized force ability, maybe this was your intent or maybe not but force powers are Kalin and Ayanna's area. I don't want to bring you down, but I must warn you that you might be getting too aggressive with your writing, which is a mistake that I struggle with too. Keep up the quality of your writing you're doing pretty good. I will allow you to challenge the trainer, but note that no person could have gotten proficiency of different styles in a week's time. Other than that I guess I'll talk to you in your next few posts.)
Keep up the good work
Taves Sarfell
lewy - August 19, 2007 01:26 AM (GMT)
(OOC: Yeah, I did overdo it a lot... Resei would not likely be able to improvise that good! I'm just considering trying to become a Force-user... Sith or Jedi, who cares lol)
The trainer was talking to a few other Jedi Hunters when Resei approached him.
"The Wookiee has done what he can. I believe it is you and me, now?"
Taves Sarfell - August 19, 2007 01:49 AM (GMT)
"In just a month? Krane must not be in his right mind. Oh well, I do need a workout if it can be considered such." The trainer grabbed a training lightsaber from a nearby weapon rack. He activated it, revealing a red blade. "Ah yes" the trainer said to himself "took this off of that pathetic Sith youngling. Can't imagine why someone wanted him dead. Oh well, it's a nice piece of work."
The trainer turned to Resei. However he did not give his usual morbid grin. This time he was serious. His face was absent of all emotion. One thing was certain. Resei was going to have a fight unlike the ones he had had. This man was ready to fight, and if he lost control and Resei wasn't on his top game then despite the fact they were using training sabers Resei could end up dead.
lewy - August 19, 2007 06:58 PM (GMT)
Resei wasn't scared.
He would survive. He was good enough!
Turning on his training lightsaber he faced the trainer.
To fail is to fall...
(OOC: Mind doing the first move?)
Taves Sarfell - August 19, 2007 07:42 PM (GMT)
The trainer lowered the blade to his side, and began to break into a dead sprint straight toward Resei. As he got closer to Resei he began to utter a great battle cry. He leaped into the air bringing his saber over his head and coming down upon Resei with the speed of a Nexu and the strength Wookie. This was rather unusual as he never had started a fight with this intensity. His attack started to draw attention from the fellow Jedi Hunters. Some began to make a crowd around the duel.
lewy - August 19, 2007 09:41 PM (GMT)
Resei concentrated. One failure would mean...
He met the blade in the air, and let it glide of his own and diagonally towards the ground.
The trainer spun around, with a deadly swing aimed at Resei's legs.
Resei jumped and avoided it, before striking.
Diagonally down toward the trainers neck with all the force he managed to summon.
The trainer blocked it, and slashed with the power of two Wookiees.
Resei knew that if he blocked it his wrist would break, and he dodged, by rolling quickly backwards on the ground, barely avoiding the might of the attack.
He got to his feets immediately, meeting the next strike of the trainer.
Another charge like the one in the beginning, and Resei had to strike at the blade with all his might to block it.
Then they striked again, and for a momentt the two blades were connected, none wanting to give ground.
Then they hastily withdrew, and readied for a second wave.
Taves Sarfell - August 20, 2007 09:32 PM (GMT)
The trainer looked up from where he landed. He had a blood fury in his eyes. He ran toward Resei. This time however he remained silent and twirled his blade in a fashion similar to their first duel. He ran in and out coming back from Resei's defenses with more and more attacks. His speed and strength mounted as he continued his assault. The duel became even more interesting. What was once a thin crowd became a thick circle of spectators cheering a bit with each impressive flurry of moves from each combatant.
lewy - August 21, 2007 12:23 PM (GMT)
Resei grinned widely. He was getting slowly tired, but this was fantastic.
If a Jedi was better than this, and had their mystical force in addition, he hoped he could outsmart them!
Then he started fighting more creative.
Making fake strikes, changing their direction or stopping them in the air, then he entered a furry, and the trainer followed.
At one occation they were standing so close he could see that the eyes of the trainer were now very red.
Then the trainer striked. Hard and fast. Resei had to concentrate to follow, and soon got defencive.
He had to create a tiny break to regain some of the initiative!
But the trainer gave him no rest, striking at his defence in furry.
Then Resei got an idea. He just hoped it would work...
The strike came from the left. Resei blocked it, but very lightly. He then, with simple moves, lead the strike over him and past on the other side. It all happened so fast, it was a wonder he had managed it.
Then he pushed the trainer lightly, making him a bit to unbalanced for another strike, but balanced enough for a defence.
Resei withdrew, and got a small break.
He noticed the circle of spectators had grown even a bit, some of them cheering silently at the last, furious engagement, and, possibly, his withdrawal.
Then, as not to loose initiative, he attacked.
He charged at the trainer, having his blade up for a classical strike, but in the last moment he stopped, and started cutting with short, fast moves, the harassing style the Wookiee had hated so much...
Taves Sarfell - August 21, 2007 09:57 PM (GMT)
The trainer had planned for the event of Resei faking again. His bluffing strategy had given him away. He was impressed at Resei's improvement considering it had only been a month. He decided to allow the fight to go on for awhile, since he wished to warm up a bit more. However since he had had the time to study in depth and even experiment with his lightsaber technique he obviously was still superior to Resei who still had only a small shred of his experience.
After the fight had continued for awhile longer he decided to end it. He noticed Resei's feet were vulnerable. He swept his leg under Resei's while he was occupied on the fight which was going on a little higher up. The sweep knocked Resei off balance. With a slight poke in the chest to simulate the killing blow Resei fell to his back.
The crowd cheered with the end of the fight. The trainer deactivated his saber and offered Resei his hand to help him up. "It was Mantok right? Since you are no longer a piece of Bantha fodder I suppose you're ready to progress in your training."
lewy - August 21, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
Resei smiled. He had been supposing he would loose.
But still it had been a good fight, and the crowd seemed pleased.
he took the outstretched hand, and rose.
"Thank you for a good fight, Sir! And I think it's Bantha eating time... Meaning; I believe you are right saying we can go on. What is the next thing you're gonna have to beat me in?" He smiled. Despite the loss he was happy.
It's not the victory, it's the fight, he thought glad.
And it was time to move on.
Taves Sarfell - August 23, 2007 02:45 AM (GMT)
The trainer handed Resei a datapad. "Nothing to necessarily beat in this time. Although I hope you know how to read because if you don't it's going to be a great deal harder. In that pad there is a database on the Jedi. It's not complete but it should give you a good look at what your facing. I want you to study your enemy and what is known about their powers. If you don't know that then you might as well not even try to kill a Jedi. But" said the trainer, leaning over to Resei and sniffing him "Before you start studying go and wash up." The trainer departed to leave Resei with the datapad and his thoughts.
(As a note you might want to just look at some stuff on Wookiepedia about Jedi and the force, and write it like your character is reading it because he will have a small little verbal quiz. Nothing much, just something for the trainer to know Resei studied.)
lewy - August 26, 2007 06:58 PM (GMT)
After a quick, but very needed shower, Resei was ready to start reading.
In the mean time, Moirine was reading the holo-news, so they were both very quiet. Perfect for reading. So he started.
The Jedi
It seemed that only a few Jedi had survived the last Jedi purge, the Emperor's order 66. The few remaining were, according to the datapad, hidden and scattered around the galaxy. The last Jedi purge was not yet over, it said, and even had a comment on: ...and you are a part of it.
It made Resei smile, to be a part of something bigger.
As the trainer had said, the Jedi where peaceful. They were more likely to cut of your arm than to kill you.
They also had ranks; Jedi Initiate, Jedi Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, Councilor, Grand Master. However, these ranks were no longer official, as all Jedi were hiding, and the Jedi order therefore did not exist in the true meaning of the word.
It also had a list of famous Jedi, amongst them all the Grand Masters.
Freedon Nadd was a name that often showed up, though Resei couldn't quite figure if he was actually a Jedi or a Sith...
The Force
The force was divided in two different types, on light side for the Jedi, and one dark side for the Sith. Each side were known to use different kinds of so-called force-powers. (It's actualy four 'sides', but I guess that wouldn't be known to a Jedi Hunter datapad...)
There was a short list of known things you could do with the force, and who were most likely to use it on you...
There was also a lot of prophecies, the most known something about a son of the suns (while reading 'the suns' Resei immediately thought about the twin-suns on Tatooine), destinied to 'bring balance to the force'.
There were also holocrons scattered around the galaxy, containing teachings of the Sith or Jedi.
The Sith
There were always to be two Sith Lords. This was called the rule of two, and Resei grasped the idea quite easily. It had to be better to have two people in charge than a whole council?
One Sith Master, one Sith Apprentice, and who-know-how-many Sith Adepts.
Only few years were ever mentioned, and Resei got the expression that, as the trainer had said, it was not complete...
A few days after, having read through it many times, writing things down, and not just learning, but understanding the content, he was ready.
He found the trainer, and handed him the datapad.
"I think I'm done now. What's next?"
Taves Sarfell - August 27, 2007 10:44 PM (GMT)
The trainer looked at Resei. He was good with a saber, but he didn't know the extent of his mental prowess. "Alright trainee, lets see how much you really know. I have three questions for you. Lets see what you 'know' and what you've retained.
"First, what was the first Jedi Purge also known as? Second, what is one basic power of a Jedi? And third, what is the limit on the number of Sith Adepts that are allowed to exist."
The trainer knew these wouldn't be the easy questions, but that was the point of course. He watched as Resei tried to bring up the answers in his head.
(Sorry for the wait. I just got back to school so I haven't had a great deal of time the last few days)
lewy - August 28, 2007 08:39 PM (GMT)
Resei thought for a long while, before answering.
"Number two would be the use of lightsaber, deflecting blaster bolts with lightsabers and constructing lightsabers... The third, well... I did not think there were any limit? I know Darth Bane introduced the 'rule of two', meaning there could be only two Sith, one master and one apprentice, but I did't think there were any rules for the number oF Adepts (and he hoped whole-heartedly that there actually were none)... As for the first..." He paused, thinking a bit more.
"...As for the first, let's see... The First Jedi Purge was just after the jedi civil war, and was executed by the sith triumvirate... I believe they called it, as it at least started out as silent assassinations and corrupting... I believe they themself called it 'the shadow wars'... Am I correct, Sir?"
Taves Sarfell - August 28, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
The instructor was impressed. Now that Resei had done so well he thought it was time to progress.
"Well trainee that was pretty spot on. By the way you were right there is no limit to Sith Adepts. It was a trick question. You now have what every hunter needs, knowledge of your prey and a way to combat them. You are now ready to go on to the next step of Jedi Hunter Training. Ironically we follow a sort of method that the Jedi do. After you have progressed so far you accompany a Jedi Hunter on missions and get some field training. You'll be assigned to Krane. Since you two know each other it might work well."
lewy - August 29, 2007 03:32 PM (GMT)
Resei smiled, not bothering to hide his pride. He was ready! Ready for... ah, whatever. His old friend, 'the Wookiee' came when the trainer summoned him.
Resei smiled at him.
"I'm ready for the next step!"
"Rooooooar"
"He says: great, kid! Don't get cocky. Or wait a second... Wasn't that Han's line? Oh, nevermind!"
"Rooooaaar"
"No, I am not experiencing a slight malfunctioning. You hear that, meatbag? I'll be back!"
Resei sighed. Judging by the damages on the translation droid's side, it had met the wall pretty nastily...
"Anyway, do we have a mission, Sir?" he asked the trainer.
(OOC: I know, sorry, I just got kinda inspired by something.... lol :P )

"As a matter of fact I do have a mission for Krane. I was waiting for you to finish up before I sent him on it, but before I do I need to have a word with him."
The trainer went over to a more secluded area of the training field and began to talk to Krane in hushed tones. What he talked to him about couldn't quite be heard over the commotion of the others who were training at the moment, but by the look on his face it was apparent that he wasn't having a nice little chat. The look on his face showed he meant business.
After they had finished his conversation he and Krane walked back to where Resei was standing. "Alright, and now about the mission. We've recently received a request to find and kill a Jedi that is as far as we know is hiding in the forests of Naboo. You have a Firespray-31 waiting for you in the hangar. Resei, you won't receive any money from this. This gives you reputation only. If you have anymore questions about the mission Krane will answer them on the way." The trainer began to walk away, but then remembered something. "Ah, Resei before I forget. Since you don't know anything Wookiee you'll need this. It's an invention of my own. I used it before I learned Krane's language." He handed Resei an earpiece. "It's a small protocol droid. Because of it's size it doesn't know as many languages as the average one, but it knows Wookiee so you won't have to have a hunk of metal floating around everywhere. Good luck" With this the trainer headed off and left Krane and Resei to continue on.
(OOC: One thing Dude. I will have to play Krane a little more actively. You can say general things like 'He led you somewhere' or 'He told you good job on doing something', but as far as fighting and whatnot goes I'll be taking over. Sorry if it bogs down the mission a bit. I'll try to post when I can.)

(OOC: Sure, I understand that! :) )
Kranespoke a little on Wookiee, just to test if the small protocol droid was functional. It was, and, when Resei had gotten a real, blue lightsaber for the mission, they headed for the hangar, and the firespry.
The 'hunk of metal' made some unpleased sounds, and floated out of sight...
