Title: Meeting Antilles

Taves Sarfell - August 4, 2007 11:29 PM (GMT)
Taves and Doren found Antilles waiting for them at the landing pad. Taves hoped Antilles didn't mind him wearing his Mandalorian armor since he hadn't yet gotten a uniform. He and Doren stepped in front of Antilles, clicked their heels, and snapped to attention. "Taves and Doren reporting for duty" said Taves. He awaited Antilles reply.

If Captain Antilles hadn't counted on the Mandalorian armor, he gave no sign of it. Rather, he stepped forward along with the person he was talking to, dressed mostly in white clothes.

- "Ah, good. As you may or may not know, the Prince Consort had arranged trade lanes to be made between Delaya and Alderaan some thirty years ago. The objective of this mission is to escort this person to Delaya, and meet up with someone you shall escort back here safely. The trip doesn't involve hyperspace, it should take less than an hour to travel, meaning you have a day to spend on the planet itself."

He placed his hands behind his back, looking at both Taves and Doren in turn. It was a good sign they had managed to get along as fast as they had, though how good that would hold up was still a matter to find out.

- "You may be asking yourselves why i put the two of you together on a mission. The reasoning behind it is that only officers have the priviledge of choosing who they work with. As a student, and even as a regular soldier, you may end up working with people you've never met before, or even those you dislike. This mission will test how well you handle yourself in such a situation."

Captain Antilles nodded at the small passenger ship, waiting for the three of them on the Landing Pad. He took another look at the Mandalorian armor Taves wore, and decided to bring up what he initially had wanted to say anyway.

- "Also, Taves... In the ship's locker is a standard guard's uniform, i'd prefer it if you wore that. The trip, short as it is, will prove mostly uneventful, and Delaya is not the type of planet used to seeing heavily armored walking around, possibly causing unwanted commotion. That will be all, i'll see you back here tomorrow."

The tall Alderaan prince stepped to the side, indicating the conversation was pretty much over as well as allowing the person in white to board.

"Sir" said Taves gesturing toward the ship. The man nodded at him and walked into the ship. Taves looked at Doren giving him a 'Ok whatever' look. They followed the diplomat onto the ship.

They went to the lockers in the back of the ship. Taves started to take off his armor, and put it in the locker. "So" said Doren "where'd you get the armor? Did you kill a bounty hunter?" Taves was a bit exasperated by the question. His career as a bounty hunter wasn't something he wanted to flaunt now that he had gotten away from it, but he felt that Doren had the right to know the truth.

"Nope, I didn't kill a bounty hunter, but unfortunately I did kill a someone to get it. I used to be a Mandalorian." Doren was amazed. He never would have expected Taves to have been in such a line of work. "Listen, it's not something I'm incredibly proud of so if you could not pass that around I'd appreciate it. Not even the officials at the agency know that, and I'd like to keep it that way." "Why'd you tell me then?" asked Doren. "Because" replied Taves slipping on the boots that were in the locker "you are one of the few people I know that is a friend. Not a mentor, not a superior, but a friend." Doren was touched by this vote of confidence. "Alright" said Doren. "Well if you're ready then I think we should have this guy we're protecting in our sight." "Good idea" agreed Taves. With that they both went to find the man they needed to escort.
