They used to be strangers three hours ago but now they were sisters. Cory had helped Alena with her bath and the girl was astonished at how warm the water was. As Cory shampooed her hair the girl told her what happened to her since she was separated from her parents. She said she once had an older brother but he had been taken off by an army or something. She told her how she cried at night for her parents. So in order for her to survive on her own she took it upon herself to get her own food even if it was by stealing. After Cory rinsed her off she helped Alena dress in one of her old pair of pajamas. The material would keep one very warm during night. As Cory dried the girls hair and then brushed it she hummed a little bit to her. Once Alena was dried off and had her hair in pony tail, Cory took her into the kitchen area and severed dinner. She gave the girl a bowl of Spaghetti-O's and a glass of apple juice. The girl gobbled it all down but not as fast as she'd done so earlier.
As Cory tucked Alena into bed the girl asked. "Where are we going? Are you taking me to your home?"
Cory sat down on the edge of the bed beside Alena and hugged her. "No sweet heart...this ship...the Foxfire is our home and will be from now on. Okay?"
"Okay Cory...." Alena whispered back and laid down as Cory covered her up in a blanket. Cory planted a brief kiss on Alena's nose making the girl giggle.
"Good night sweet heart." Cory said as she rose from the bed.
"Good night Cory.." Alena replied as she snuggled up to a stuffed elephant doll that Cory had given to her as a present.
Cory was almost out of the room when Alena asked. "What about if I have to go to the bathroom? It's dark..."
Cory turned back around walked over to Alena's bed and touched a night light which lit up the room with a blue light. The light illuminated all of the objects and didn't hurt ones vision. Cory smiled down at Alena. "Better?"
Alena nodded. "Yes. Thank you Cory. Thank you for adopting me and helping me. I love you."
Cory smiled again showing her pearly white teeth. "I love you too Alena. Get some rest, okay?"
Alena turned over and lay her head on the pillow as Cory watched her for a few more moments. The girl was asleep within seconds. She left the room and closed the door partially. Walking back into the kitchen she poured herself a glass of tea and ate her dinner of a box of instant beef noodles and a salad. When she was done she cleared the dinner table and let he washer wash the dishes. She went to the cockpit and sat down once again in the Pilots seat. She brought up a map of the solar system and looked over it. As she looked at each planet she thought about where she should go to next. Clearly Coruscant no longer welcomed her but then again she did gain a sister earlier on....so she thought that was one way the old ones were thanking her for her good deeds. She wished she knew what her purpose in life was. She hoped that she would soon find out.
