Confessor - July 23, 2007 07:33 PM (GMT)
Alex walked through the crowded streets of the Senatorial District. Those of noble birth and blood seemed to spend there days here. Others were in the their own offices taking care of matters of the universe. She pitied them because a Senators life with very busy. She had heard a lot about Senators from her former mother, Lucille, who often spoke with a senator but from which planet she didn't know. There were many diplomatic missions that took place and it seemed that the weight of the world rested on a Senators shoulders. After all they did speak for their people of whatever planet they represented.

Alex stopped at a large white building which read Identification Office. As she approached the large door she stopped and took a deep breath and let it out. She Would remain calm. After walking through the doors she saw three desks and only one of them was occupied. A woman with long blonde hair typed away at her computer. When Alex approached she looked up and gave her a smile. "How can I help you today miss?"

"I'd like to change my birth name." Alex asked, hoping it would be possible.

"Of course, if you would have a seat I'll get the proper paperwork. One moment." the blonde replied as she turned away from Alex in her chair and opened a file cabinet. She searched through a stack of vanilla folders and pulled out a form. After having selected the correct form she closed the drawer and turned back around. She handed Alex the form and stated that she fill out her social security number, birth name, birth date, and her new name.

Alex took out her pen and within moments had the form filled out. She carefully handed it to the blond who took it from her and began typing on her computer. First she entered Alex's full birth name which didn't have any results. A slight frown came across her face as she tried her birth date which didn't work either. Finally she punched in her SSN and that worked but certain areas had been erased within the last three months.

"That's very strange..." the blonde said out loud.

"Hmm....?" Alex asked.

"Someone has changed most of your information in your social security profile. That's odd....who could have done it?" the blonde asked as she glanced up at Alex.

"Simple. My parents. You see the disowned me."

The blonde's eyes widened for a moment and her frown turned into a somber look. "I'm sorry dear....that's awful." she patted Alex's hand.

Alex waved the matter away. "It's nothing. Don't worry about it."

"Okay well....let me just enter your new name dearie and we will have you all set. I'll also give you a new SSN Id Card. Where is your current residence...?"

Alex thought of this question a moment. "Would it be possible for my home to be on a different planet than this one....?"

"Sure dearie...if you parents were that mean then you are allowed to change it but if I might ask...why didn't you tell Social Services about this.....?"

Alex took a deep breath. "I ALWAYS knew they hated me but still...it didn't really effect me at the time. It still doesn't. This might sound funny but from the start of my life I Knew I was in the wrong family. As I continued to grow up in their home I became a stranger to them. And rather than give you the entire story I'd rather not discuss it. Let's just say they'll live with the Sins they've made. I'm no longer their problem and they are no longer my problem."

The blonde's face turned pale but she didn't reply she simply nodded her head in response. A moment of silence passed between the two women.

"Was there anyone who did care for you that you know would allow you into their home....?"

"Sure....my Real father, Diego Mandrake would...he lived on Alderran. He has a house there...it's a simple place. The address is: 15487 Canvas Back Way."

The blonde entered the information onto the computer along with Alex's new name. She pushed a print button on the screen and a new form spat out of a printer. She took the paper and handed it to Alex along with a pen. "Please sign your old name and sign and print your new name Ms. Lavinseer."

Alex now known as Cordelia signed her former dishonorable name with her new glorious name.

"Now Miss Lavinseer, if you would face me and smile up at the camera above us for you new photo to go on your new identifaction paperwork and id badge."

Cordelia nodded and smiled diligently up at the camera which flashed once. The blonde took the paper and ran it through a scanning machine and then pushed the new ID card button. A flash of light appeared on the printer behind them and the light vanished after a few moments a new fresh identification card and birth certificate appeared. Both had the presidents signature, the blonde's authorized signature, and Cordelia's signature. After letting them both dry she handed them to Cory who took them eagerly.

"Thank you madam." Cory said courteously.

"You are most welcome dearie. If you ever need anything else here is my card." the blonde handed Cory her work card which read: Brooke Despellinger - Branch Manager and her personal cell number and communication link number along with her email address.

Cory looked at it and tucked it away in her pocket. "Thank you very much Brooke."

"You are most welcome honey. The best of luck to you." Brooke smiled and shook Cory's hand as she rose from the seat.

"Thank you ma'am. Take care." Cory replied quietly and then left Brooke to her work.

Once she was outside the office a large smile appeared on her face. She was Finally Free of her parents! Everything was going to change for her and for the better.
