Title: The Comet Casino
Ayanna Nyx - July 14, 2007 07:04 PM (GMT)
Try your luck here! Play a game of Pazaak, Sabacc or anything else...just name you game!
Kalin Thalis - August 3, 2007 01:14 PM (GMT)
It seemed like a very unlikely event. A Jedi risking his life in the Corellian Sector where it swarms with Bounty Hunters. Why would he appear here? Was he still dressed as a Jedi or was he undercover? If so how did they recognize him. Kalin and Ayanna walked towards the casino in hopes to find the Duros who spotted the Jedi. He was said to be a heavy gambler so great chances were that he was in the Comet Casino. A place very well known to heavy gamblers, though the ones who were not so addicted to it, knew that foul play was often the case if you tried to play for money in that casino. And there was not really another reason to play there anyway...charity? No, that certainly didn't happen. The Hutts wouldn't allow it, though this was still a planet under the Empire's control, it were the Hutts who truly controlled things on this rock.
"We're gonna have to dress different if we want to try to get inside the casino...I'm not sure they'll let us in just with our clothes on...and it will be heavily guarded, meaning they might spot our lightsabers...we'll have to hide them somewhere."
Kalin was worried how to get inside. He could maybe easily buy something to blend in the crowd. But especially Ayanna would stand out. Beautiful women was a rare concept here. They were either slaves or entertainers in places like this, but never would you see someone like her walking the roads of Nar Shaddaa freely. It did worry him how he would get close to the Duros Gambler without attracting any suspicion. Keeping just her hood up, wouldn't do the trick...
Ayanna Nyx - August 3, 2007 04:47 PM (GMT)
Ayanna looked over to one of the corners of the casino, a door that led backstage. The only figures that were going to and fro where dancers, escorts and floor walkers of the casino. She looked over to Kalin, raising her eyebrow in the hope that he would get her suggestion. If she could sneak backstage and disguise herself as one of the girls, it would give Kalin a better chance to mingle without detection. Also she could perhaps find out some information for herself.
"What do you think?" She said giving a grin.
"Back door huh? Good idea...."
She quickly made her way to the door until she was now in a long corridor lined with different changing rooms. As she walked one of the dance instructors stood out of one of the rooms, right in front of Ayanna.
"Hey! What the hell are you wearing? Are you in the dance number in 20 minutes?" The man spoke, removing her cloak and throwing it onto a chair in one of the rooms. He then pulled at her and threw her onto a makeover chair. All this before she could even string together a sentence.
"Eh.... No I'm not in the dance number...... I eh.... Can't dance...."
"No? Oh pity with such legs! Well then you must be a floor walker, right lets get your face on...... Ooooh, lovely eyes! No wonder they hired you...." The effeminate man began to cover her in different make ups and style her hair.
"Thanks....... AWCH! Watch it!!!" Ayanna squealed as he pulled at her hair with the brush.
"Tsk! Temper, temper! Don't worry darling, you'll look fabulous when I'm finished with you. I have great style!" He said smugly.
"I bet....." Ayanna said worried that she would come out of the room looking like a clown.
After some time of pampering her, he stood her in front of the mirror.
"There you are!"
Ayanna stared at herself in somewhat disbelief. Her hair was curled upwards and covered in an array of jewels that sparkled in the light. Her outfit, if it could be called that, merely covered where it had to, the rest exposed. She wore a metallic bikini that fit surprisingly well but left much to be desired! On her arms he clipped on golden bars with lace with hung from them over the bottom of her arms. She truly looked like one of the girls, and she hated it.
She stepped closer and gazed at her make up in the mirror after getting over the shock of her outfit.
"Oh geez, this stuff better come off!" She hissed.
"Oh don't be silly, now on you go, and don't forget to SMILE!" He spoke as he pushed her back out of the door and into the casino. She felt completely humiliated and wished she hadn't bothered. She watched to the other girls, they were carrying drinks and standing, flirting with the men playing the games. So at least she knew she had some flexibility, but now she had to find Kalin. Although in the state she was in, she didn't want to.
Kalin Thalis - August 4, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
Kalin walked around in the casino with his cape closed, but kept his hood down. He thought that could draw attention too, made him look suspicious. His cape was decorated with Sith Markings, which made it kinda high-class looking so he did look like a decent gambler....but dark nonetheless. He kept a sharp look, scouting for the Duros Gambler. There was none to detect. No Duros in sight...maybe he wasn't around at this time, he was thinking.
He was also thinking what Ayanna was doing. She was probably wasting her time trying dress after dress in that place where dancers and entertainers readied themselves...I mean that's what girls like her do...so he thought. "Oh doesn't this look nice on me? Or should I try that…”...He pitied the person she was boring it with, though pity was very a very rare feeling Kalin had or could ever feel.
He smiled thinking of the money he could earn by cheating using the Force. Foreseeing your opponent's move or rolling the dice just the way you wanted to...it was easily done...but winning money was not his mission. He had to find those Jedi...and only that Duros gambler could help him right now. He did cheat as he passed some booths. He moved his hand and manipulated the dice just to piss some gamblers off. That would certainly cheer him up. But as he passed the booth he heard the people back all laughing in excitement.
They won! What are the odds...He just waved his hand making some gamblers happy. As he passed other booths he saw a few people playing Pazaak. With his Force forsight he saw who exactly was winning. He whispered to the winning gambler,
"I wouldn't do that if I were you...he's bluffing...he must have better cards in his hands..."
The other card player looked up to Kalin in anger,
"What are you doing, buddy! This is not your game! Don't get involved or I'll call security!"
Kalin walked away and said nothing. The game just continued and the winner hesitated to put another card down. He forfeited and walked away, not being aware that his opponent had the worst cards ever. He won thanks to Kalin's lie, but he had no idea that he did so thanks to him. Kalin didn't really care who won. He just wanted to mess around with these gamblers as he had no respect for them. People addicted to gambling were below him in his opinion
Fiinally he saw the Duros gambler sitting at a booth. He was playing a game of Sabacc and it seemed he was very good at it, looking at the amount of coins he already won. He won a fortune if he ever traded those coins in...Would Kalin give him that chance? Depended on the situation...depended on his answers about the Jedi he spotted.
"Can I sit down?", He asked politely.
Nobody replied, but they gave him a clear hint he could do so. Some grinned underestimating Kalin because of his young appearance.
"Boy could I use a drink...", Kalin said. He began to sweat. With wearing such a dark black long cloak he surely got it warm. Others thought it was cause he got nervous because the game was going to start.
"What does a guy like me actually have to do to get a drink here!", He said grinning, pretending he had everything under control. He was indeed nervous concerning the Duros gambler, but not concerning the game. He didn't care about winning or losing, though with winning he might get more words out of the gambler instead with losing this game.
Ayanna Nyx - August 5, 2007 12:02 AM (GMT)
Ayanna fumbled her way through the roaring crowds of desperate slime balls, trying anything to get a few extra credits in their pockets, along with a few laughs with the ladies while they were at it. She found the girls quite funny, they were all smiles and kisses to the gamblers, but when their pockets emptied, they scattered to opposite ends of the room. No money, no company.
As she slid past a few people, she felt a hand slap against her backside followed by a few light giggles. She felt the rage inside her swell but then she remembered that she was in fact on a mission. Normally the guy would be sent flying across the room having had his face smashed in by her fist, but she decided just to continue on and not even acknowledge it.
She couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief when she saw Kalin sitting down to a game of Sabacc. Although, suddenly that relief was replaced with humiliation. The thought of him seeing her like this, with only her shame covered! She stood in hesitation for a few moments.
"What does a guy like me actually have to do to get a drink here!" Kalin spoke loudly.
Ayanna raised her eyebrows at his tough guy act, but at least now she had the opportunity to approach him. One of the girls went to approach Kalin herself with a glass of red alcoholic liquid in her hand. Ayanna quickly snatched it from her.
"Hey!" The girl complained.
"I saw him first....." Ayanna spoke, continuing on towards Kalin. The girl huffed a little and walked off to collect another drink for another customer.
The men at Kalin's table were now focusing themselves. Ayanna glided her fingers across Kalin's back, until she placed it on one of his shoulders. She curved her body backwards in a seducing pose, and held the glass in front of Kalin's face.
"You ordered a drink?....." She spoke in a sexy/ sleazy manner, waiting for Kalin to notice it was actually her.
Kalin Thalis - August 5, 2007 12:22 AM (GMT)
"Thanks honey" Though Kalin became aware of something, that girl's voice sounded very familiar. He slowly looked up, first seeing her chest and then her smiling face.
"Oh.... Eugh.... Emm...." Kalin was baffled seeing Ayanna. The other players laughed as he was acting so shy around the girl, as it was like the first time he saw one. Kalin looked at her, very uneased. He didn't know how to act in her presence, especially considering how she was dressed.
The men waited for Kalin to play the game, still sniggering a little.
"Your turn to play sweetheart, you can play with me later...." She grinned, causing the men to laugh loudly, which gave her the chance to speak quickly to Kalin.
Ayanna spoke to him through faked grinning teeth while the men were laughing, "You're going to blow my cover if you keep looking at me like I'm Jabba the Hutt" She said continuing to smile sarcastically.
Kalin spoke a little annoyed at her comment, "What do you want me to do?!"
She continued smiling, "I don't know.... Give me 20 credits and meet me out back later....."
Some of the gamblers laughed as they heard her last words.
"Oh you're a lucky guy man!"
Though Kalin didn't feel as lucky as the guys thought he was. He was trembling with 20 credits in his hands and didn't know where to put it. There wasn't much place to put them at all. Ayanna then sighed at his response, grabbing the 20 credits and slipping it into her bra. She then pushed herself from Kalin's shoulder and made her way to the Duros gambler, though he didn't show much interest in Ayanna. Kalin tried to hint to her to try harder, some even became suspicious that there was foul play going on.
Kalin still kept looking at his cards and grinned back in confidence but this just drew more suspicion. Did he really have good cards or was there's something going on between him and the floor girl?
Ayanna Nyx - August 5, 2007 12:42 AM (GMT)
Ayanna rubbed her hand across the Duros' shoulder, leaning onto him with her chest leveled with his face. The Duros gambler only acted as though she was in his way. Ayanna had to practice her 'skills' more if she wanted to get something out of this guy.
"Hey man, give her some slack.... You don't want her to get fired do you?!" Kalin said straightly to him.
Again, they laughed and one of the other gamblers spoke.
"No.... It's probably you who doesn't want her to get fired..... But with good reason..." He laughed.
The game continued but Ayanna didn't have much success. This guy was a professional and didn't want any distraction. It wasn't her skills that were the problem, it was just him, focusing on the game.
In a last attempt, Ayanna decided to use one of her 'forbidden' skills to tempt the Duros gambler in her favor.
She whispered into his ear, predicting a card that was about to be played. When it was actually proven right, the Duros smiled and again the game was in his advantage. Kalin acted annoyed at his loss but he knew what Ayanna was up to. The Duros gambler now acted more comfortably around her. This girl meant luck so it seemed. Though when the next cards were dealt out, no one really knew what was at stake. Only the Duros gambler kept his confidence and smiled. The other players were really in a bad mood including Kalin, or was he?
The game was about to end, it was time that the players showed their cards.
Ayanna still beefed him with confidence, she whispered in his ears that only increased it and he put every credit he had on the pot. Kalin had to go along, the others didn't. There was too much at stake. The Duros grinned at Kalin, certain of victory. Ayanna grinned also, hinting to Kalin that he was about to loose. But what did she exactly mean with that smile?
The final moment came, the cards had to be shown. The Duros gambler showed his and indeed it seemed to be a certain victory. Kalin looked as though in despair but then flicked over his own cards, speaking;
"Sabacc!" He grinned as the Duros gambler exploded in anger, loosing everything he won. The other players were baffled how Kalin had achieved this. Everything was checked out and no foul play was detected. He won fairly, or so they thought.
A fortune lay on the table and Kalin assembled it. The other players left with a small satisfaction that the Duros lost. Kalin kept on smiling, with Ayanna giving him a hint of a wink.
Kalin Thalis - August 5, 2007 12:57 AM (GMT)
Kalin stood up looking at the defeated gambler.
"Calm down, the game's not over yet...."
The Duros looked up in surprise, "What are you talking about? I lost everything! It's over!"
"Not necessarily.... If you play along...... Answering exactly what I ask....."
The Duros stood up and did not like the sound of what was to come. Kalin took the money and the trio walked outside. The Duros now realised that the girl, Ayanna, had been in on it, whatever it was.
"She's involved?! I'm going to call security!"
"Sure thing..... If you want to go home with absolutely nothing.... We'll be gone in the blink of an eye.... And don't you owe some credits to.... The Hutts?" Ayanna spoke smugly.
Kalin grinned again, "That's right.... As I said, play along, and you'll get your money back...."
"Okay okay! What do you want to know?" The Dorus said in desperation.
Kalin stared firmly at him, "I want to know more about the Jedi you saw.... And don't lie to me, I'll know!" He pointed.
"They were here yesterday.... I was walking around and the streets were as good as deserted.... It was getting late and I saw a few cloaked individuals..... Carrying those laserswords..... One of them was waving his hands, using those Jedi Mind Tricks.... Not on me but, someone else, I don't know!"
Kalin kept a sharp look but did not sound over threatening.
"Do you know where they are now?"
The Duros was clearing the sweat from his head, thinking of all the credits and also what else could be at stake in this scenario, "I don't know exactly, like I said I wasn't with them! They were heading for the Refugee Sector..... I followed them there and they were walking through the corridors that lead down to the Refugee itself...... So it's a great chance they are hiding there...... It's all poverty striken and filth down there..... The poor, the dying, the scum, it's all there, and believe me, its the last place anyone wants to go to!"
Kalin knew enough now, and the Duros gambler seriously believed he would get his credits back now. But in one move, Kalin tossed them all on the ground. It was for him to pick up, unfortunately for him though, more were interested in those credits also, and in moments there were dozens of people grabbing at the credits that lay on the ground. He tried to grab as much back as he could, and with that Kalin and Ayanna left.
"Nice outfit you're wearing!" Kalin spoke sarcastically, much more confident than in the casino itself.
Ayanna Nyx - August 5, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
"Ha ha ha.... Very funny..... Well we have to get my old costume back! I'm not walking around like this, just as well I held onto a few personal items, including my lightsaber!...... Pff, you're one ladies' man, I can say that much! You'd think you'd just seen your grandma naked when you looked to me!" She gave a little laugh.
Kalin laughed back, "Well, you're not far off! Anyway, where did you hide your stuff, let's get it back and head for the refugee sector....."
"Wait here...." Ayanna spoke, running back into the casino again, and slipping through the crowd and into the backstage area again. She quickly dressed back into her old outfit, which was the best feeling she'd had in a long time. As she turned around, she saw the effeminate man once again in front of her.
"What are you doing in those dingy clothes again! Get your cute little tush out there!"
With that, Ayanna punched him square in the jaw, knocking him out in an instant. She breathed a sigh of satisfaction and made her way out of the casino.
As she walked out of the casino and towards Kalin, it was clear she had held onto her casino outfit, as she was stuffing into one of her bags. She looked to Kalin,
"You never know when it could come in handy!" She grinned.
"Yeah...." He said in a seducing manner, "Indeed!" He continued his sarcasm, really pushing his luck.
"Ha ha ha! I'd like to see you try! I'd get a better response from a jawa...." She laughed.
"Oh you got me all wrong Ayanna, I'm not that kind of guy eh hem...." Kalin said, making it too obvious he wasn't serious.
"Oh of course! I bet you're the type to write love letters and stand out of a girl's window singing romantic songs...... Well maybe you'd do the later part but only due to being drunk out of your mind....."
Kalin just laughed at her response, but didn't really reply as he thought it was going nowhere.
