Title: The Thranta

Kalin Thalis - July 13, 2007 04:57 PM (GMT)
This was the first time the Thranta arrived on Alderaan. They almost reached the palace requesting a place to land. Kalin opened up a tranmission for her to speak so they could safely land.

"Well...It's up to you now...."

Jin-ho - July 13, 2007 05:20 PM (GMT)
Jin-ho walked up to the communications console with a painful look on her face. Running her fingers over the screen a couple of times, she appeared to have found what she was looking for, before taking out her blaster.

- "Kalin, sorry about this, but i still can't really allow them to recognise me at the moment..." >_<

The butt of the pistol slammed into the camera, and she ran a small diagnostic to make sure she had just taken out her end of the visual uplink. Pressing a few buttons, she opened a commications channel to the Royal Palace.

- "Greetings, this is Christine Aren from the Yavin Trade Federation, requesting an audience with Senator Leia Organa of Alderaan. There were some difficulties concerning the latest Imperial transaction, and i have two other representatives with me to even out some details. Please acknowledge, over?"

Using both Yavin and her fake name, both Leia and Captain Antilles would know it would be her. The 'latest Imperial transaction' would have been handing over the Sith to the Empire, making the 'two other representatives' two more Sith as well. She had chosen her words carefully, spending almost the entire trip on them, and she leaned back slightly, awaiting the control tower's reply. Sure enough, after a few seconds, the microphone sprang to life again, be it somewhat distorted. Probably the calibration being knocked slightly off balance.

"This is Control... We've recieved your message, but video feed's still choppy. Please respond, over."

- "Yes, we're experiencing some slight technical difficulties after one of the maintenance droids malfunctioned. It should be fixed once the parts come in. As for clearance codes, i believe it's CKN-8365. Please confirm, over."

There was some crackling at the other end, before they were indeed given clearance to land. Jin-ho thanked them, and let out a relieved sigh as she leaned back in her seat.

- "Okay, we're good to go. That was a Captain-level clearance code i gave them, lucky for us they haven't routinely changed them yet. After relaying that message, Leia would know i have two Sith with me, so you two had better keep your promise about not intending to kill them..."

Kalin Thalis - July 13, 2007 05:36 PM (GMT)
Kalin, Ayanna and Jin-Ho left after they pulled on some casual clothes instead of the Sith outgear he wears. Ayanna still wore her handmaiden uniform she stole in the rebel base. With his cloak on, Kalin almost looked Royal as they were decorated with Sith marks but nobody would recognize them as ones cause these were ancient and nobody could translate or recognize them except some of the Sith themselves.

He walked in a high manner, keeping his chin up and walking slow...He didn't want to hurry so he wouldn't draw any attention. Jin-Ho walked in front of him as they approached the Royal guards at the entrance of the palace.

"So what's the plan now?" He whipsered to Jin-Ho.

Jin-ho - July 13, 2007 05:45 PM (GMT)
Jin-ho simply continued walking gracefully along, like she had been taught as a Handmaiden during decoy training, and approached the guards with not a hint of hesitation or nervousness in her voice. The guards might have been trained to hear it, but a Handmaiden was trained to disguise it.

- "Greetings, i'm Christine Aren, and these are my associates, Kalin Thanos and Ayanna Moran. If you would be so kind as to escort us to the Senator? I believe we are expected there." :)

'Christine' was wearing a disguise she had raided from one of the ship's storerooms, managing to look stately, almost regal, while at the same time hiding her hair, and shading her eyes. Not that it mattered though, Leia or Captain Antilles would have confirmed the appointment with them as soon as they'd have heard the details.

Kalin Thalis - July 13, 2007 06:23 PM (GMT)
Kalin didn't say anything and just waited for Jin-Ho to act. He tried to disguise himself as a diplomat or something in that line so that he would be viewed as somebody who meets the senator regulary.

Once Jin-Ho convinced he guards to get inside they walked over to the Senator's office where again guards were stalled, but they cleared the passageway to the senator's office as the guards at the entrance of the palace already informed them of their presence.

"The senator is waiting for you", one of the guards spoke.

Kalin nodded to Jin-Ho and Ayanna. This was the moment where Kalin was hoping for. To meet the Princes of Alderaan himself to unravel the truth. But he knew that he wouldn't share that truth with anyone, maybe not even Ayanna, though he suspected he already knew more than he presumed.

"Ayanna please introduce me to the senator." He spoke a bit full of himself, trying to act like something he wasn't. The guards were convinced but Ayanna and Jin-Ho would saw right through it even if they didn't know he was a Sith Assassin.

Jin-ho - July 13, 2007 06:49 PM (GMT)
Jin-ho simply nodded at the stationed guards, mentally sending Ayanna and Kalin a message to please, please not start a fight. They wouldn't be hearing her, but the mental mantra helped calm her down at least by a little bit. As the doors closed behind the trio again, the red headed girl gave a small nervous wave to Princess Leia and Captain Antilles.

- "Hey guys..." ^^;

Captain Antilles looked rather serious though, cautiousness radiating off of him like an aura, the cereminial cortosis blade he had recieved upon promotion to his station firmly at his hip. It was clear he wasn't taking any chances with Princess Leia's life, after all.

Ayanna Nyx - July 13, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
The princess seemed to leave along with a few of her own handmaidens. Antilles looked at the three individuals, two who were strangers and one who was not. But he knew something was very wrong here.

"Greetings....... May I help you?........ Do you have any business with the Princess or the Viceroy?" he said as he spoke to Jin-Ho, remembering that in fact, she is dead as far as people know on Alderaan, and any indication that he knew her would only arouse suspicion upon him.

Kalin Thalis - July 13, 2007 09:42 PM (GMT)
"Excuse me...this is a matter of great importance...I must see the Princess...it is a matter of life and death, and I think you know well enough as I do, that for Jin-Ho's sake and believe me for the Princess' sake, that it can't be discussed here in public!"

Kalin spoke a bit annoyed,

"Now...If you can clear the way and let me see the princess...I have no time to waste as I have other business to attend to..."

Ayanna Nyx - July 13, 2007 09:52 PM (GMT)
A few other guards stepped forward, but Antilles raised his hand for them to stand back, for now at least.

"Excuse me Sir who are you?...... The princess has great matters to attend to herself..... And she is rarely known to meet with individuals who have not arranged meeting before hand........"

He looked a little to Jin-Ho, asking her with his eyes what she had done, and why she had brought these people here when she was meant to remain on Yavin IV until further notice.

Jin-ho - July 13, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)
Jin-ho resisted the urge to elbow Kalin in the ribs, instead calmly clearing her throat, ignoring -- or at least not acknowledging -- what the Dark Jedi had just said. Hopefully he'd take the hint to be more subtle, what with people that might overhear him calling her name out a bit too often and all.

- "*AHEM* What my associate is trying to say, Lord Captain, is that there were some difficulties concerning the last shipment to the Empire, which ultimately resulted in my return here. Though the situation is not as tense as before, an audience with the Princess would prove beneficial to our mutual interests."

The look she gave Captain Antilles made it perfectly clear which 'shipment' she was referring to, even if he had miraculously missed the hidden meaning in her words himself.

- "You have my apologies for this unexpected visit, of course, but the problem that has risen is, i fear, quite troublesome should it remain unattended."

Kalin Thalis - July 13, 2007 09:59 PM (GMT)
Kalin was impatient, "you do not care for the princess her life?! I'm here to prevent anything like that...so the Princess shall have to hear me out if she holds her life dear..."

then he whispered,

"Plus we don't want the information to be leaked that she is part of the Rebel Alliance...I'm sure lot's of people would like to hear that...."

He raised his voice again,

"You don't have to look that way at Jin-Ho...she did this also for the same reasons as me...for the Her sake...to save your Princess...."

Kalin looked firm at Anitlles, there was already something about him, he didn't like.

Ayanna Nyx - July 13, 2007 10:14 PM (GMT)
Antilles stared at Kalin for a long moment, he was concerned, just then his comlink sounded.

"If you'll excuse me...."

He walked a little away from them, out of hearing distance but it was clear he was not happy about something that was being said at the other end of the line. He continued to debate, always turning his back to them ask he spoke, and continously sighing until returning back,

"The............. The Princess says you can meet with her in the Grand Reception Room......... Jin-Ho...... Go to the Protection Service Training area...... I will speak with you there......... And you two......" He signalled a number of guards over, "They will escort you to the Princess......." He seemed to be deeply worried and frustrated though trying to remain as cool as possible.

Ayanna Nyx - July 14, 2007 01:23 AM (GMT)
The body of the girl was finally brought to the Thranta, having been put in the cargo hold by Antilles men.

Antilles himself stood outside next to the lowered ramp as his men returned from inside the ship. He stared to Kalin and Ayanna.

"Well, what will you do with the body now........"

Kalin Thalis - July 14, 2007 01:31 AM (GMT)
"Simple...I'll show it to Darth Vader presenting it as Jin-Ho..." Kalin grinned..."Let's just hope he doesn't see through my lies..."

Kalin wanted to make it sound funny, but it wasn't meant to be funny. He was unprepared how he could fool Vader with this. If he met Vader in person, he would surely fail at his attempt.

Kalin and Ayanna entered the Thranta once more."

"Don't you want to say goodbye to Jin-Ho" He laughed.

He set the coöridinates for Coruscant as this was his next destination. In secret he was hoping Vader would be on the Death Star so no meeting in person would occur.

The ship entered hyperspace in an instant and dissapeared in the light.

Jin-ho - July 14, 2007 12:53 PM (GMT)
Jin-ho let out a sigh of relief as the two were led out of the room by the guards. It felt... good, in a way, to be back on Alderaan, though she was still a bit worried as to how this entire situation would play out.

- "Uhh... sure thing, sir. I'll meet you there."

[Protection Service Training]

Ayanna Nyx - July 14, 2007 04:51 PM (GMT)
As the Thranta left the system behind, Ayanna finally changed into her own attire once again. She had spent long enough as a handmaiden, and did not want to venture down that path again. After stuffing the white dress into a random drawer, she turned and went back into the cockpit.

"So.... Where are we going now? Did you find what you were looking for after all of this?"

Ayanna Nyx - April 1, 2008 05:59 PM (GMT)
Ayanna sat fairly quietly during their journey to Alderaan, she felt almost alone, as though she was alone in the ship, but didn't know why. She was at least glad that the events on Mandalore did not end in bloodshed. Though it still did cause her some concerns about what they were doing, and also that of the Rebellion. If there was a strong Rebellion against the Empire, would she want to join? And even if they were not powerful, wouldn't it be best to stand for what you believe in? Although she wasn't sure what she believed in anymore. So many things had changed so quickly that she had a hard time to keep up, and she still had the concern of Li looming over her, and Kalin's arm was a constant reminder of it. It was Li who did that to him, and she almost hated her brother for doing it.

"Kalin, I think I need more training..... My mind feels pretty.... I don't know.... Blurred.... I don't know which way I'm facing and it's bothering me...." She decided to admit this, though it could be a bad idea, "I'm doubting..... All the time, and I don't like it..... Don't get me wrong... I don't want to be a Jedi.... No never.... I've seen what happens there, and that's not what I want..... But...... Oh I don't know...." She said, almost sounding like she wanted to give up her point altogether.

Kalin Thalis - April 1, 2008 07:15 PM (GMT)
"Trust me, I'm not comfortable being a Dark Jedi either. But I've been so long with them, that like I said, they are still my brothers, while so many have so much ignorance, to stand against them, would be wrong now. I still don't see it as hopeless when a new order would arise, they would see the light. And I'm not too sure if such an order would be that of the Jedi or the Sith. I can't see it... However I see much promise in the son of Skywalker, it would bring much irony if he was the one to rebuild the order, while his father destroyed it."

Kalin sighed, cause this doubting didn't bring much confidence to Kalin either. If she couldn't follow him anymore, then they would have to split. No way he could let her just walk away without knowing anything, but did he have a choice in the matter? He didn't want to let her walk away not knowing what her fate would be. But maybe he had to. Maybe he had to get rid of her, cause not only did she endanger his life with this behaviour but her own life. And staying with Kalin would only put the eyes of the Sith on her and what would they do then, if they saw the good in her. That would lead to her death and he couldn't allow that to happen. Unless Kalin also swayed from his loyalty to the Sith, there was little hope they could stay together. It was a difficult issue to deal with.

Ayanna Nyx - April 1, 2008 11:03 PM (GMT)
She thought for a moment about what he said concerning the Son of Skywalker. Remembering back to that young boy they met on Tatooine. So innocent, his whole life ahead of him, and the only worries in his life was whether he had a cool speeder or not. She gave a little smile as she thought of it, and indeed the irony of perhaps he being the one to rebuild things, whereas his father took it all away.

"But Kalin..... If we do stay on this path.... And the Sith fail.... What then? Do you think it's likely that the Rebellion.... Jedi would ever look on us as anything more than betrayers? Evil? You saw Kreio.... And alright, I agree that he was..... Wrong..... But what if other Jedi are like that too?..... That boy we saw on Mandalore.... He was young but I could see the foundations of the same thing happening there.... Perhaps I am, in essence, against the Jedi..... But.... I would never kill them for who they are..... Just as I would not kill a Sith for who they are...... But.... Both the Jedi and the Sith do ..... The Jedi swore to destroy the Sith, the Sith have sworn to destroy the Jedi... They are both the same...... But I'm not like either of them....." She shook her head, "So what am I Kalin?..... I believe that the Dark Side does have it's advantages.... Use anger as your ally, only when necessary but not to let it consume you..... Use frustration, fear as a tool, but don't let it use you....... But with the Sith? They kill with little if any consideration to what they have done..... Some call them selfish but.... I don't think the Sith are any more or less selfish than the Jedi..... Or that of every race throughout the galaxy for that matter..... In our very nature, we are all born selfish....." She sighed, confused. Knowing that she was not a Sith by nature, but also that she was no where close to being a Jedi, "I'm not a Jedi..... I don't want to be one either..... But what do we call ourselves..... 'Dark Jedi'..... We even keep the name..... Perhaps then..... I am in the right place...." She smiled a little, "I'm not a Sith.... And I'm not a Jedi......" She looked to him, "We have to betray everyone.... You and I.... We have to lie to the Jedi and to the Sith..... But then where do we end up, when all is said and done?...."

Kalin Thalis - April 1, 2008 11:19 PM (GMT)
"It's just a name, Ayanna... In the end we don't call ourselves Sith, cause we don't hold that right, but is there much difference in the ways of a Dark Jedi and the Sith? Vader tortures, the Dark Jedi do. They are almost identical. We are trained as Sith, that's why it's still called the Sith Academy, not the Dark Jedi Academy. I don't call myself a Dark Jedi and maybe that is because I don't want to be called that way or because of Arrogance. As Vader's apprentice, I've always considered myself something else than a Dark Jedi, but I don't call myself a Sith either. I don't hold that right. And calling the Dark Jedi evil would be generalizing and you know that would be wrong. Not all Dark Jedi are evil. There are probably more Jedi hiding in the protection of the Empire as Dark Jedi, than we realize! They pretend to be on the Dark Path as much as you and I do, cause we don't walk that of either the light or the dark, no we try to make our own path by our own choices. If we were the only ones doing so, we would already be trapped or even killed. No I think there are a lot more of are kind, we just don't know it, cause like us they keep themselves hidden among the Sith. But once this Empire is gone, they will stand up as Jedi again. That's what I'm counting on." Kalin explained.

Ayanna Nyx - April 1, 2008 11:26 PM (GMT)
She looked him dead in his eyes, hoping that he was serious about his last comment, cause if he was, then she could walk with him until the end. She was only scared that he would step further and further into the darkness, and there is a place she would not follow him to. Or would she?

She smiled a little, "Well, that I can live with I guess..... But still you need to train me..... I want to learn something........ Violent... Destructive...." She laughed, "I know only simple things.... The most destructive thing I can do is with plant life, and no Sith or Jedi taught me that one...." She grinned, "That's just who I am and what I do.... But, I can't always rely on that skill...."

Kalin Thalis - April 2, 2008 12:41 AM (GMT)
Kalin was curious what motivated Ayanna for asking this. "You want to learn a new power...Something destructive? It's strange to hear something like this from you, cause you don't like it when I hurt or kill people. You have complained a lot about my approach, so I don't understand why you suddenly want to learn something destructive. I would understand if you want to learn more to defend yourself, but then my first choice wouldn't be exactly to teach you something violent or destructive, but something protective, of course, so what's the deal?" Kalin didn't want to be rude, but he was just curious. He didn't mind teaching her anything, but he surely wanted to know why first.

Ayanna Nyx - April 2, 2008 01:01 AM (GMT)
She sighed a little, then biting on her lip before she began to speak, "I'll be honest with you.... For a while there... Perhaps only a few days.... I didn't want to be a Sith any more..... The days after I..... Well after all the incidents with Zaria.... I felt like I was reborn or something.... And in a way I was I guess.... More a rebirth of the mind than of the body..... But I thought and felt that everything we had done, everything was wrong..... You were wrong, Vader was wrong, Palpatine was wrong..... The Sith Academy... All of it was horrific.... And I did not want anything to do with the Dark Side of the Force.... I began to admire and feel extreme sympathy for the Jedi.... I even thought of running away.... Joining them.... Seeking help from Obi-Wan Kenobi...." She felt a little nervous to tell him all of this, but she wanted to be completely honest with him, "But I didn't want to be your enemy.... I felt I could fight Vader.... Palpatine.... Any other Dark Jedi, but not you.... I've known you too long, I've been through too much with you and I care about you too much to ever be your enemy.... So I stayed..... But thinking I was in spirit and mind a Jedi.... I really did..... But..... After things we spoke about.... I began to doubt.... But I still felt that bringing any harm to Jedi was wrong..... And still I do, to a point... But before.... I thought, never kill a Jedi, despite the reason....." She said serious, "But it was seeing Kreio, what he said, how he acted, that I realized I wasn't like him either..... He was.... So..... Arrogant..... Narrow minded..... Blind.... And I became angry at how he insulted us...." She stopped as she thought back on it, "I'm not a Jedi, never will be and I never ever want to be..... And I'm not going to be ashamed of what I am.... My grandmother wasn't exactly the most conservative of Jedi either.... She actually stuck more to the principles of the Jedi, but still the Jedi thought she was eccentric....." She looked down, "I focused my training on.... Defence..... Meditation..... Mind control..... But I never focused on anything with real power..... Because, I was afraid to learn.... I didn't want to look towards the Dark Side..... Because..... 'I was a Jedi...'..." She laughed, then shaking her head as she thought back on those thoughts, "I can't hide from the Dark Side, or refuse to learn dark arts because of my.... Sympathies...... My enemies will want to hurt me..... My own brother is trying to kill me, you know that..... And.... If I can't reason with him..... Then I want to rip him apart....." She said in a strange voice.

Kalin Thalis - April 2, 2008 01:20 AM (GMT)
All this talking made Kalin worried, but in the end he did feel like she was coming to her senses and that she was more balanced than he thought her to be. Still there was a lot of her that couldn't get his worries away. It seems that all this time that she was with him, they had been living a lie. All this time he thought he wanted to be with him to learn. But it seems more that she wanted to be with for his presence and he wondered if there was something more. Something more than just a friendship or a partnership, cause he didn't know how to look at this. He didn't want to look like all the time, she had been lying to him. But the reason she wanted to fight the whole Empire and the Sith, but not him, while he was part of it nonetheless. Why would she want that.

"Tell me, Ayanna. How do you view our relationship. Our partnership. I am more than just your teacher, right?!" Kalin asked curiously.

Ayanna Nyx - April 2, 2008 01:30 AM (GMT)
She found his question a little strange after everything she had said, but she answered it, "Of course you're more than my teacher..... You are of course my teacher, but you're also my friend, my inspiration, my confidant, my...." She stopped herself, thinking for a moment about how she did in fact view Kalin. It was something she had never much time to dwell on, or perhaps she had been to afraid to, "Well, you know I think of you as more than my teacher, how couldn't I? You've always been there for me... And I try to be there for you..... I.... Well I can tell you anything..... I trust you with my life.... And I don't say that lightly...." She said seriously, though she actually didn't say how she viewed the relationship.

Kalin Thalis - April 2, 2008 01:53 AM (GMT)
Kalin nodded but with a sarcastic twist to it. He agreed with what she said, it was about the same as he saw her, but she was still hiding things, he could sense it. "Uh huh, well we're getting a bit off topic here. You said you wanted to learn a new power. Did you have something in mind? I mean there's still so much to learn, even for myself. Training you, means also training myself, so I take great joy in your training, so I can help you and myself too. I've been more careful with Force Lightning due to my arm. I'm just afraid the crystal won't do its job as I think it would, but I think I've found a solution to that. See if I can find a way so I can switch the arm off with my mind, then that thing wouldn't fry me as the circuits would be cut off with my physical body anyway. But what am I talking about. We were talking about teaching you something, so yeah let's hear it?"

Ayanna Nyx - April 2, 2008 02:20 AM (GMT)
Ayanna couldn't help but blush a little as he dismissed what she said so easily, feeling a little bothered and exposed, but she tried to ignore it and instead respond to his question, "Well, I don't think I want to learn Force Lightning quite yet.... Considering my experience with it...... Although...." She thought of something, remembering back to the day that Kalin had found out that she was the daughter of the woman who killed his mother, he choked her that day and there was no way for her to prevent it, she made her decision, "I want to learn Force Crush.... force Grasp.... Force Choke....." She said seriously, "Lightning can wait... It's more advanced anyway...."

Kalin Thalis - April 2, 2008 02:30 AM (GMT)
Kalin thought for a second. It was dangerous to teach her these things. "Well before we start with a Force grasp or Force Crush, we'll start with the Force Grip. As you maybe now a Force Grasp is the combination between the Force grip and the Force choke, so in order to teach you the Force grasp you will have to learn both. A Force grip is not that difficult. It's the same as lifting up object, the only difference is that your opponent will of course try to defend himself and even Jedi can use deflections to free themselves from your grip. I can't teach you this here. But start with lifting up the most heavy objects in this ship, cause the weight also offers you some resistance and it will be more challenging to keep them in your grip. Do not try to force yourself cause if you pick up something of real high weight, you have to make it land with your grip too. So start lifting up objects. Then later you can experiment on me...."

Ayanna Nyx - April 2, 2008 02:36 AM (GMT)
Ayanna laughed a little at the idea of picking up Kalin, but she focused, "Alright....." She said as she walked through to the main common area of The Thranta, then focusing in on a small cup, "I'll try with that okay?....." She held out her hand as she put all of her concentration on it, trying to feel it's presence with the Force. She closed her eyes for a moment as she tried to fixate on it, when she felt it, she could feel it as though it were in her hand. She focused harder and then suddenly, the cup began to lift off the ground, though she couldn't help but try a little harder and with that, the cup fractured and smashed in to little pieces,

"Oh.... Eh.... Did I..... I must've pushed myself..... Sorry...." She said as she quickly tried to focus on another object to continue training on. She focused herself once again as she continued.

Kalin Thalis - April 2, 2008 02:50 AM (GMT)
"I believe I was talking about large objects; heavy ones?!" Kalin said. "Hmmm, this Artoo, business can wait. I'm getting us out of sight, cause this ain't gonna work."

Kalin headed back to the cockpit. "Tower, this is platform 19. Requesting permission to leave."

"This is the tower, you are clear to leave!" The crew inside the tower said, though they found it odd that a ship that just landed already wanted to leave. Kalin moved the Thranta deep inside the mountains, where they could train unnoticed. Outside the ship, they both stood to continue her training.

Kalin stepped a few meters from Ayanna away. Then he turned to her. "Common, get me in your grip. Common don't be a coward!" Kalin said egging her on and kept provoking her.
"You'll notice I will show more resistance, the more we progress."

Ayanna Nyx - April 2, 2008 02:54 AM (GMT)
Ayanna grinned slightly with surprise at how he provoked her, but she couldn't deny she liked it as she placed her hands on her hips, "Okay.... You got it Master...." She said in a sneaky voice, not usually like her. She held her hand out to him, trying to sense where he was. Then whe she could feel were he was, she tried to focus in and hold him, clasp him with the Force. She began to struggle, "Damn you're heavy...." She laughed a little as she focused more. Her arm began to shake slightly, as she then closed her eyes completely as it only distracted her to keep them open. She kept pushing herself, trying to make sure she had a firm grip on him, which was harder than she had first thought it was going to be.

Kalin Thalis - April 2, 2008 03:00 AM (GMT)
As Kalin got lifted in the air he grinned, "Blast it, this is actually cool! All my enemies who I killed with a Force grasp must have gotten a cool death, they can't complain about that!" He said sarcastically, though it must have not sounded that funny.

He could feel he was starting to shake though, meaning that Ayanna was struggling to keep Kalin in her grip.

"Okay, you think you have a good grip on me?! Anyway, now most opponents just try to resist by waving their hands and arms, it doesn't give much resistance, but you'll feel that your grip slightly begins to loosen. So you have to tighten your grip. It really becomes more difficult if your opponent tries to grab onto something, like a handle or the railing, just to give you some examples."

Kalin just started to wildly move in the air, but he knew that if she tightened her grip on him, it would start to hurt.

Ayanna Nyx - April 2, 2008 03:07 AM (GMT)
She still had her eyes closed, biting down on her lip as she concentrated, though smiled slightly at what Kalin was doing. She could feel him waving around, and that she was loosing her grip on him, like a fish in her hand that kept on riggling. She focused harder and began to tighten her grip until she felt him more stable again. Taking a breath, she tried to lift him higher, though she kept her eyes still shut, as she feared she would laugh to see Kalin floating in the air like a ghost, "I'm not letting you get away...." She smiled with a little laugh, not quite sure why she was saying it in such a manner.

Kalin Thalis - April 2, 2008 03:15 AM (GMT)
Kalin could feel the pain, especially inside his chest, cause that is where she firmly held him. If someone would truly master the technique they would learn to hold a grip on every limb of their body, so that Kalin wouldn't able to move neither his legs or his arms, but she was just starting and overestimated her power already.

"Now I'm going to try to break down your grip with the Force as a Jedi would do, so you'll have to tighten your grip again."

Kalin still hung in the air and he formed fists, trying to push the barricade away, which would make her grip more difficult. She tried to give everything she could. But then Kalin fell to the ground. Luckily the grass was still soft enough so his landing wasn't too bad.

"Okay..." He groaned as he stood up. "Maybe... That was a little much. But yeah you're beginning to learn it. We can try some other time, ok?"

She nodded, a little worried that she caused him to fall, "Em.... Sorry...." She said with a quiet voice as they walked back onto the Thranta, "Oh..... That was...... Exhausting....." She laughed a little as she sat in the cockpit, "Thank you..... For teaching me...." She said as she smiled over to him. She could almost feel something, a little nagging inside her. Was only when Kalin brouht up concerning how she viewed their relationship that she actually thought about it. She never considered it much recently, not after what had happened with Zaria, but the fact he brought it up caused her to question it also, "Em, Kalin? You know that you..... You asked how I view our.... Well our friendship?..... Why did you ask? Do you think differently?.... Did I do something wrong or?.... Should I really just view you as 'Master' only.... If so it's alright, I understand...." She said in a reassuring voice.

Kalin thought himself that it was weird why she brought this subject up again. It only confirmed his suspicions more, though not completely. "I was just curious, really. I mean I think we have a good understanding between each other. We might not always agree and our opinion on political aspects are different, but I think that we have a healthy relationship. And I think that because we have a good bond as friends, it makes our bound as Master and Apprentice also stronger, which makes it easier for me to learn things. It's ironic cause it sounds more like a relationship a Jedi Master would have with his Padawan rather than a Teacher in the Dark Arts with a random Acolyte. In that way we are more like Jedi. That just raises a question in me. Do you think attachments are dangerous. I mean we all know what happened with Anakin Skywalker and his love, but do you think that would be in any case so, or was he an exception?" He asked her though with a purpose other than he was referring to. It sounded like he was just asking for her opinion on this matter, but depending on her answer, it could give more confirmation on his suspicions about her.

She thought for a long moment, thinking of the Anakin Skywalker incident in specific, "I think for someone who does not wish to learn the Dark Arts, then perhaps they should avoid it..... I mean Anakin was tempted by the power of preventing death..... And that applied to his wife...... So in trying to stop her from dying, he had to do dark things.... But he was twisted in other ways Kalin..... Palpatine.... He didn't just make it about saving his wife, of course not... He went for every opportunity and played on every aspect of Anakin's emotions.... he was raised a slave..... So from day one there is an inferiority complex..... I'm sure he felt pride to be a Jedi, a bad thing to 'them' perhaps, but completely understandable.... He went from nothing to a great Jedi.... And he lost his mother, he loved her.... So he didn't want to loose his wife too.... If he had been left with just this notion in his mind.... Perhaps things wouldn't have turned out the way they did because...... You may disagree with me on this, but I blame the Jedi just as much as Palpatine for what happened there..... Anakin was forced into this tight spot where he and his love were trapped..... And it was Palpatine who took advantage of this by offering him freedom for that, but with a lot of fine print..... The Jedi talk about no attachments..... Yet they have plenty attachments to themselves..... And that's another thing I find hypocritical with them..... 'A Jedi should be selfless'? Oh really! Well, if Anakin had revealed the truth about he and his wife, who would the Jedi be concerned about? Anakin or themselves? You bet themselves, and that's selfish....." She said serious as she sat back more comfortable, "If you build yourself up on rules and rules and rules, then yeah.... Don't get attached to anything or anyone, cause you will just hit every rule as you do, like falling out of a tree and hitting every branch on the way down..... Death may be natural, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't help..... If a Jedi was fatally injured, would they have done everything in their power to heal and cure them? Of course they would! And that's what makes them hypocritical again.... If death is 'natural' then just let them die...... But no they don't..... Anakin wants to stop his wife from dying, and he's told to ease off.... So I completely sympathize with Anakin on this....." She sighed, "I could go on for hours about this issue, really I could.... But a simple answer to your question is..... If you're a conservative Jedi, then best to avoid attachments, otherwise you're going to have a heavy conscience..... Me? I wouldn't loose any sleep over it...." She said as she finally quietened.

"No, I agree with everything what you said. Maybe not so much on the last part. I do think that attachments were so dangerous. The Jedi tried to strike fear, such as Palpatine with that rule in my opinion. Every master and padawan had an attachment to each other. No it's not a love relationship, and it might not provoke jealousy or any other dark thoughts but it forced all the Jedi, not just Anakin into a tight corner. I think there were a lot of Jedi who must have felt something towards somebody else. After all, you can't control love. You can try to discipline to ignore it, but that would make them liars to themselves would it. It would only bring great frustrations. No allowing them attachments and with the right teachings to keep those attachments in balance, I don't see why attachments were such a threat. I think denying them was unfair and even evil, striking fear in their hearts and putting judgement on them for something they could hardly control. That was wrong of the Jedi. Sith have no desire for attachments, but you can see that Palpatine is protective of Vader, cause yeah they had about a 30 year relationship from now. That must have created something, Sith or not! To deny that would be stupid. Me? I don't know what to think of an attachment. If the opportunity would present itself and I would feel right about it, I don't think I would have a problem with it. On the contrary. Maybe I do want an attachments, cause living in a world between the Jedi and the Sith can be very lonesome...." He said with a blank expression, but then he smiled at Ayanna. "Well of course I still have you!"

Ayanna Nyx - April 2, 2008 04:06 AM (GMT)
Ayanna bit on her lip slightly, not quite sure how to respond to this, whether she should let something blurt out and see what happens, or try a softer approach, "It's sad because..... i think if Anakin hadn't been 'forced' into becoming what he did.... He's still be a great Jedi.... A middle aged man with a beautiful wife..... A son..... It could have been a beautiful thing..... He did what millions of races and beings across the galaxy do all the time...... But for him, it caused him to loose everything..... I feel sorry for him..... It must have crushed him....." She said a little sad, for the first time feeling sympathy for Vader, which she had never experienced before, "I.... I'd never criticize Jedi or Sith being in love..... Cause then I would be a hypocrit too..... I try to stay honest with myself..... Even if it hurts..." She said as she looked away for a moment, worrying about what she had said.

Kalin Thalis - April 2, 2008 04:12 AM (GMT)
Now it was getting more interesting for Kalin. He was thinking about what she said about Anakin, Padmé, Vader. He wasn't sure how things would be if she was still alive. Maybe if she wasn't so judgemental on Mustafar, maybe things would have been different. Maybe if Anakin wouldn't have jumped to conclusions about her betraying him when Obi-Wan showed up. Maybe if Obi-Wan hadn't showed up at all, but he knew he was forced to take care of 'Vader'. That is also what made the Jedi hypocrites. Cause they always speak about using the Force for knowledge and Defence and claiming they are keepers of the peace, however they swore to destroy the Sith. Destruction was something both the Jedi and the Sith wanted, but something else was on Kalin's mind. Something Ayanna said.

"Oh, why do you feel you can't judge the Sith or Jedi for being in love? What would make that you in a hypocrite?" He asked in a provoking voice.
