Title: Kayen's Training Continues

KayenXStorm - July 12, 2007 12:38 AM (GMT)
It had been a week since Kayen had successfully killed the Boma as his first bounty hunter training task. Unfortunately, the beast had put him out of action with a torn Achilles tendon and broken ankle. Now, his ankle had been healed as good as new and Kayen was ready to continue his training. He stood up from his bed and yawned as he pulled on his combat vest. He picked up his black belt and pulled it around his waist, buckling it. He holstered his blasters into the belt and then he walked out of his quarters. Making his way through the camp, Kayen reached the melee combat training area and stood with a few other students. An instructor approached him shortly.

"You, Storm... you will spar with McKinnon there. First off his feet loses..."

Kayen nodded and walked over to the weapons rack and picked up one of the wooden training swords. The other man did the same and squared off with Kayen in the center of the people. Kayen grinned and waited for McKinnon to attack him. McKinnon charged forward with his sword and swung towards Kayen's head, but he quickly ducked under the blow and lifted McKinnon over his shoulder with a back drop, leaving McKinnon on his back in the center of the group. Kayen smiled and tossed the sword to the instructor.

"I didn't need that..."

It was the next step of Kayen's training and he had been told to meet one of his instructors after breakfast. He had just finished eating in the bounty hunters mess hall and he made his way through the camp, checking the energy cell in his blasters as he walked. Eventually he reached his instructor and stood before him.

"You wanted to see me sir?"

The instructor nodded and handed Kayen a Datapadd with information on it. "Ahh, Kayen, yes... I have a task for you."

"A task? Your last instructor's task nearly cost me a foot..." Kayen replied as he looked at the padd.

"It will be more than made up for, eventually... we have an escaped criminal in the forests of Mandalore, Cisco Rodriguez, a former hunter in training who decided to kill one of his instructors. We want him, dead preferably. Return with his head and you will be much closer to graduation..."

Kayen sighed and nodded as he turned and walked away, looking back over his shoulder "I'll have him soon."

(This is after Kayen killed Cisco)

Kayen entered the Mandalore camp again, clenching the head of his target by the hair. He walked through the camp until he reached his instructor and he threw the head at his feet. "One ex student, dead as ordered... do I qualify for compensation yet?"

"No. We do not pay students until graduation..."

"Yes yes I've heard. What now?"

"Go to your quarters and get some rest..."

Kayen nodded and sighed as he turned away and walked to his quarters.

Resei was looking for Kayen.
He hadn't seen him since he had managed to almost lose his feet by walking through the jungle.
Resei almost had to laugh.
That had thought him a little lesson.
However, now it was time for Resei to teach Kayen to hate him just a bit more.
"Hey! Limpy! Where are you? Kayen?"
He walked around in the camps, searching.

Resei was slightly angered that Kayen was nowhere to be found.
He decided he would find another, casual recruit and teach a lesson.
He spotted a fellow Kiffar who was training on his own.
He walked over to him.
"Young Kifar?"
The recruit turned.
"I am older than you..."
Resei laughed.
"You've got spirit! I'm not sure that's always a good thing when you're a bounty hunter, but... May I join you?"
"You have the highest rank of us, do as you like."
Resei laughed again, and readied his blaster.

After a few rounds, he found there was little or nothing to teach the Kiffar when it came to not-moving-targets.
He was only a bit less skilled than Resei, who was amongst the best in the camp.
Then Resei got a plan.
"Let's proceed to moving targets, shall we?"
The recruit hesitated for a slight moment before nodding.
Resei noticed, and almost smiled.
He had been right.
His skills in not moving targets had pushed away time for practising moving targets.

After only five shots it was obvious.
The Kiffar had no skills at all.
"Aim s little ahead of it! The time it takes for the blast to hit will be enough to make a perfect hit! Besides that it's all practise."
Resei spent hours looking at the recruit getting better at what really mattered.
