Title: The Trial of Christopher Enyar
Kalin Thalis - July 8, 2007 09:29 PM (GMT)
To decide the punishment Chris would get, the instructors decided to form a council of five. Five instructors were chosen, but Kalin was not one of them. They didn't trust his judgement on this, thought he would be too soft on him since Chris was one of his acolytes. Kalin was given the oppertunity to defend him though and so he did. Kalin didn't want Chris to die, despite his actions.
The council was sitting down on heavy stone chairs with Sith inscriptions, they didn't look comfortable and looked very old. It was a miracle they were still in one piece, but they served their purpose for this trail. Chris was standing before them with energy binders around his wrists. Kalin was standing on his right side.
A lot of curious people came to his trail, wondering what would happen to him. Most hoped he would get the cruelest fate of course, not because they hated him, no it was just in their nature...they enjoyed it.
There was much talking before the trail started. The crowd wouldn't shut up until one of the council members yelled,
"Shut up!!!!!!"
Then the room turned dead and the trial on Christopher Enyar began.
"Christopher Enyar, you know that you are on trial because of your actions on Alderaan...do you want to say something to defend your case....we'll wait with what Kalin has to say...if there are other people who want to stand up for him, they can...though I doubt that will happen....."
Christopher Enyar - July 8, 2007 10:30 PM (GMT)
Chris eyes were cold, unthinking, unfeeling and absolutely empty. He was unfocussed in his sight, making him appear to be staring into the Abyss. He then looked up, but said nothing for the moment. Then, finally, "Rebels are troublesome." And he left it at that.
Kalin Thalis - July 8, 2007 10:40 PM (GMT)
The council was annoyed at this attitude, but they expected this to happen,
"Yeah...Rebels are trouble, tell us something we don't already know! Are you trying to say, you knew she was a rebel and you just wanted to get rid of her...just like that...why not...why not show everybody those two beautiful silver lightsabers of yours...were you trying to show off or something?! Well that attitude is gonna get you killed boy!"
Kalin protested, the council was being irrational,
"Council members I must object, what he did was wrong, but he does not deserve to die. I've seen Chris through his trials, yes he can be very unpredictable...But aren't most of us?! Yes he has to learn control! But he is a strong ally! And I think we can't let a comrade like Chris slip like that..."
One of the council members stood up,
"Kalin, your being naive...too merciful! He must be punished!
Kalin stepped back and tried to stay calm,
"I don't say he should be allowed to go unpunished...but the penalty of death won't help us or him!"
The council members were talking between themselves over Kalin's words, trying to come to a decision.
One of them wanted to test Chris' attitude again,
"Well...don't you have anything else to say in your defence, Chris......"
Christopher Enyar - July 8, 2007 10:54 PM (GMT)
Chris looked at that one and stared fixatedly for a moment. "That was not what I did," he said. "My mistakes were far more foolish then simply going in for the kill. I sought for more interrigation, more information, yes, yes." His gestures became much more animated as he continued. "However the Force was a poor way to go by. Too much concentration, not enough defences on my own tongue, of course, of course." Just then his tongue flicked out for a moment. "The girl struck the weakness and took information from me. Specifically my identity as a Sith. Thus, I jumped the girl, but she was able to contact others, yes, yes. If things went right and she was brought here, we would be having a much different meeting. My mistake was using the Force at all." He then stopped moving and looked emotionless yet again. "I really can't say that life and death matter to me," he said. "If I die, I shall not be remembered, and if I live, the same result."
Kalin Thalis - July 8, 2007 11:06 PM (GMT)
"If it didn't matter...then you should have died on Alderaan together with your identity as a Dark Jedi!"
Kalin sighed, this was getting out of hand,
"I think we should all calm down here...am I being too merciful...Maybe...But I'm also looking at the future. Chris has a lot of potential...all he lacks is control, planning."
One of the council members looked angry at Kalin, "Well what do you propose Kalin."
"Well if he wants to escape from death, I only see one option...strip him from his title and more training...He can be a Dark Jedi in no time...he will just have to use his brains and will power to regain his title...I take him back as my acolyte!"
Kalin whispered to himself though, "I'm gonna regret this..."
"Okay, Kalin...have it your way, the decision is made, Chris you will re-train! Consider yourself lucky you escaped death..."
The five council members left, the students left dissapointed. Kalin and Chris were alone in the room.
"I know what you are thinking...You must hate me by now...but it was the only option to let you escape from death...and I know deep inside you do care about it, regardless the fact you try to stay so emotionless all the time..."
Christopher Enyar - July 8, 2007 11:19 PM (GMT)
Chris look seemed to change. His posture was lazy, and lean back. His eyes were looking everywhere, curiously yet also carelessly. He then looked at Kalin. "Thoughts and feelings are rather funny things to experience. A while ago, your voice was enough to spark hatred in me. But now, I don't think I hate you anymore. I even lost sight of the hatred I held for my cousin. I do hate one being, however. Yes, yes." His eyes then seemed angry, furious, without it being held back at all. "Jin-Ho. The name will stick with me, yes, yes."
It seemed rather obvious something was wrong with Chris. Everything about his personality seemed different. Especially his double speech he had developped.
Kalin Thalis - July 8, 2007 11:23 PM (GMT)
Kalin saw he was acting weird, but the fact he didn't hate Kalin was some kind of progress....he thought
"Okay, now don't get the wrong idea, yeah your a student again, but you'll have your title back in no time, so before you want your revenge on that Jin-Ho girl. Train and you have to accept my help on this Chris...or you won't regain your rank...that rank may not mean much to you, but that rank gives you freedom and power! With re-training, you can become more powerful than you are now, Chris..."
Now go back to your room, buddy...get some rest...we'll train tomorrow with Ayanna...we'll see what we can kill in the valley!"
Kalin left, but Chris was still standing in the middle of the room....It seemed like he was talking to himself.
Christopher Enyar - July 8, 2007 11:29 PM (GMT)
Chris watched as Kalin go, but then shook his head. "He doesn't know it yet, does he, does he? Freedom." He laughed. "Freedom is not given by such a rank. It is only taken away. But I shall play the game, yes yes. Freedom is no longer the objective. Power is no longer the objective. Vengence might not even be the objective, anymore, anymore. I do not know the objective of the game, but I play, but I play." He left, humming to himself.
