Title: On a Mission...
Description: Sabotage
Jin-ho - July 1, 2007 12:55 AM (GMT)
Jin-ho, dressed in full Imperial oufit, left the TIE Shuttle's passenger compartment. Spending a moment to overlook the facility as if it was shabby enough to fall in pieces any second, she walked down the ramp and up to the scientist that had come out to greet her, and handed her ID card over to the man. Or woman. It was hard to tell the gender of some of the Galaxy's many races apart on sight anyway.
- "Guten tag, I am Officer Luna Aponia of ze Imperial Security. I have been sent here to inspect ze progress on ze Stormtroopers. You vill give me a tour so i can finish my reports, ja?"
She had spent most of the trip talking to herself, trying to get herself a fake accent to cover up her Alderaan one. Still, she figured these people dealt with Imperial officers on a regular basis, and would be used to a little rulebook slapping by now. All she'd need to do was play along with that habit until she could finish what she was sent here to do...
Padmé - July 1, 2007 01:08 AM (GMT)
A Kaminoan named Lama Su checked over this Luna Apoina's profile. It all seemed to check up without any concern.
"Please, this way...." She spoke in a grafeul and smooth tone as they began to walk through the facility.
"I am surprised that I have never seen you here before.... Normally one of five officers that we know of is sent to visit us...."
Jin-ho - July 1, 2007 01:30 AM (GMT)
Jin-ho nodded at Lama Su, taking back the ID card again, and pocketing it for future use.
- "I have been told that. There is talk of promotion, and they vanted me to run ze check this time... Apparently, they look for replacements to lead ze Clone projects."
The young girl followed Lama Su on her tour, paying close attention as the various progress reports were shown to her. It was a good thing everything was in Galactic Basic, and she had a firm grasp of similar forms from growing up on a Merchant's vessel, or the numbers and scales would have made her head spin. Halfway during the trip, where she overlooked the Cloning Vats, she decided to move her mission along a bit.
- "Und vat of security? Your countermeasures against spies and thieves?"
Padmé - July 1, 2007 01:35 AM (GMT)
"Well, our facility is filled with our own Clones, whether trained for combat or our own services. They are loyal and protect the facility with their lives.... As of yet we have not had a breech of security, simply due to the nature of this city...... Is there anywhere you would like me to show you?"
Jin-ho - July 1, 2007 01:47 AM (GMT)
Jin-ho thought for a moment, nodding to herself as she wrote the information on a clipboard she had asked for at the beginning on the trip.
- "Ja, i see. I'd like to see ze central monitoring room now then, please."
In her opinion, it was a perfectly normal thing to ask, since the different monitors would provide a good insight in how the cloning process in itself was progressing. Of course, Jin-ho's true intention was to have a good look at where the cameras weren't pointed at. The tour of the facility she had already gotten had already given her a good indication of where the consoles were located, and with a little luck, the arrogance of the Kaminoans would do the rest...
Padmé - July 1, 2007 02:05 AM (GMT)
"Of course, come this way......" Suddenly, a comlink sounded off that Lama Su responded too.
"If you will excuse me, I will be right back..." She left the room but was still standing outside, talking into her comlink, but Jin-Ho now had the opportunity to scan the area
Jin-ho - July 1, 2007 02:33 AM (GMT)
Jin-ho bit her lip, trying to decide on what to do. It would be easy to slip out now, and make the necessary alterations, but on the other hand didn't want herself to get caught simply due to impatience. Scratching the back of her neck, she tried to think of something... and decided to go for the opportunity now. She took out a pair of gloves, and left the room, heading into the hallway she had just come out of.
Clipboard in hand, she walked up to a console in a nearby room and started typing away, occasionally pausing as if checking something on screen with her notes, just in case a camera was pointed at her location. If someone would see her, she'd claim to be doublechecking results with the ones she had been given.
Anyone checking the console would see she accessed a wide variation of file types, though all were connected to the Clone project in one way or another. And most files were on the result forms she had been given as well.
Jin-ho - July 1, 2007 02:35 AM (GMT)
Call it a hunch, or call it intuition, but the young girl figured that if she was ever going to get a chance, it would have been now. Accessing the Clone database, she changed the perimeters of the warning system to trigger from O4 on (as opposed to O3), and prescribed a small amount of Ozone to be given to the growing Clones along with Oxygen, while adding a trigger that wouldn't have the changes take effect until 42 hours from now.
That should give her enough time to get away without raising suspicion, and by then the Clones' cells would deteriorate rapidly through DNA mutation, caused by the oxidising agent. Meanwhile, the Kaminoans would be breaking their heads to figure out why their entire range of Clones was starting to mutate from cell degradation on them...
Jin-ho checked another couple of files before moving away from the terminal again, calmly walking back to the room as if she had done nothing out of the ordinary.
Padmé - July 1, 2007 12:00 PM (GMT)
Lama Su returned to meet with Jin-Ho after a few minutes,
"I'm terribly sorry to have left you waiting.... Shall we continue the tour?" There was something unusual about her tone as she spoke.
She suggested for Jin-Ho to follow her.
Jin-ho - July 1, 2007 12:18 PM (GMT)
Jin-ho nodded in agreement, and took a few steps in the direction of Lama Su before stopping to look at her watch.
- "Hmm... Actually, i was to be transferred to another ship, und i do not wish to keep them vaiting for much longer. I have all ze info i need for my report anyway... Ze rest of ze tour shall have to vait until next time, i fear."
Holding the clipboard under her arm, she clicked her heels together and saluted Lama Su in the Imperial style, before turning around to head towards the Landing Pad again.
Padmé - July 1, 2007 01:11 PM (GMT)
Lama Su bowed as Jin-Ho began to leave the facility. Though Lama Su found the meeting unusual, she did not dwell on it further.
Jin-ho - July 1, 2007 01:40 PM (GMT)
Jin-ho walked over to the Landing Pad, feeling as if her veins were pumping pure adrenaline. Saluting the Stormtroopers defending the facility that she came across, she eventually got to the TIE Bomber, boarding the passenger compartment and asking her pilot to begin liftoff procedures.
She knew this would be the most important part of her Mission... If she managed not to panic, and simply act like nothing was the matter, any suspicions from Lama Su would simply be forgotten over time. Which would then maximise the efficiency of her sabotage mission.
Jin-ho - July 1, 2007 03:13 PM (GMT)
As the planet disappeared from view, and no signs of multiple fighters being launched could be seen, Jin-ho relaxed visibly while leaning back into her seat. Letting out the breath she had been holding, she looked at her watch, trying to make an estimate around when they'd be arriving at Dantooine.
She also pulled the illegally modified Hold-out Blaster out from where she had hid it between her breasts, and looked at the weapon in the plastic bag that held it.
- "Heh, looks like i didn't need you as a decoy. Guess that's one lucky Space Pirate that owned you, huh?" :)
Placing the bag next to her on the durasteel floor, she took another deep breath, crossing her arms as she waited on the fighter to arrive at its destination.
