Title: Hunting Scyk's

Cashis - June 28, 2007 11:15 PM (GMT)
Cashis walked in the desert. He had a old brown cloak covering his black armor, stopping it from getting hot. Black wasn’t something that you wanted to wear here, being that it attracted heat, but he had no choice. It was the only armor he had. He had been traveling for a hour and a half and was now near the farm. He could se it in the distance. Heat wave blurred the image of the farm, but it was still visible. As he grew closer the image began to clear. There was a large building, surrounded by smaller ones. Workers were outside collecting minerals and doing their jobs. As he approached a worker looked up at him. The worker looked around and then walked up to Cashis.

“What are you here for? This is private property.” The worker said.

Cashis didn’t look at the man. He looked at the data pad for the name of the farm and found it. “This is Joseph farm, correct?” His eyes glanced up at the man as he asked the question.

The man nodded.

“Heard you have a Scyk problem. I’m the exterminator.”

“Oh, well……come this way.” The man started walking toward a building. Cashis glanced around, looking at the other workers. They didn’t seem to notice him. A few looked up but then went back to their work. When they reached the building, the worker knocked. The sounds of someone shuffling to the door could be heard. Cashis watch as the door knob turned and the door opened. A old man walked out with a angry expression on his face.

“Why am I being disturbed?!” He asked while yelling. It was apparent that he was trying to use the worker as a example: not to be disturbed.

“Sir…..this is the bounty hunter who is going to take care of the Scyk’s.” The man said, pointing at Cashis in the process.

“Oh…..well then….very good.” The old man said. He motioned for the worker to carry on with what he was working on, and he did. The worker left and the old man looked at Cashis. “Well your just a kid. Your to young to be a bounty hunter.” He said.

“Well you look so old that everyone is to young to be a bounty hunter.” Cashis said coldly.

The old man was quiet for a sec and then let out a loud laugh. “Good one! Good one.” He started to walk and Cashis walked with him. “Well it’s about time they sent someone to take care of those damn lizards. They’ve been eatin my workers, ruinnin’ my goods, and messin’ up all my business.”

“Exactly what is your business?” Cashis asked.

“The usual, minerals yadda yadda yadda” The man said.

Cashis nodded. He understood. The man looked like business was doing very good, and minerals couldn’t have been the only thing. He had to be selling things like Illegal munitions and Narcotics. Those were the only things he could really think of. “Whatever you say.” He said, avoiding the subject. “So, tell me about the Scyk’s.”

“There evil little lizards. There’s not many of them, but there still dangerous. They roam the area, attacking anything that moves. I’d advise you to be careful.”

“Your not the first to say that.”

“Good, then you’ll remember it easier. I’d say search the area, but first I’ll find you a room. Nightfall is coming. We’ll have a-” The man was cut off by the sound of screaming.

“A SCYK!!!” A yell came from the other side of the farm. Without hesitation took of in the direction of the yell. He jumped over a crate, and slid between two building, to shorten the distance. Workers scattered around the area, running for their lives. Cashis looked in the direction of where they was running from. A reddish lizard creature with a fin like thing on it’s back was chasing a worker. There was no doubt about it, it was a Scyk It let out a screech sounding yell, it’s sharp teeth snapping at the worker. Cashis pulled out his holdout blaster and started shooting at the Scyk, walking slowly out into the open. A blaster bolt hit the lizard on the leg, causing it to let out another yell, and turn it’s attention to Cashis. It started to dash at him, snapping it’s teeth in a threatening manner. Cashis sopped shooting, waiting for the Scyk to get closer. The Scyk snapped at Cashis when close enough, planning to bite off his legs. Cashis jumped back, away from the snap, waited for the Scyk to close it’s mouth, and then jumped on it’s top jaw. The Scyk was unable to open it’s mouth, or, get away. Cashis started to shot the Scyck right on the top of it’s head. The lizard screamed in pain, but it was muffled due to it’s mouth being closed. After a few shots, it died.

Cashis stepped of the Scyk and put away his blaster. The old man slowly walked up to Cashis, being cautious of the dead Scyk.

“well…….looks like your more then capable.” The man looked at Cashis who was starring at the ground. “Let us go inside and prepare you a room for the night. Your can find the rest of these little bastards in the morning!” He kicked the lizards body, causing it to twitch and little, and making him jump behind Cashis.

“No, I think I’ll find them tonight.” He knelt down, looking at the tracks the beast had left. If he waited till morning they would most likely be gone.

“Whatever you say, but if you do, take this.” The old man handed him a old vibro blade. “I noticed you didn’t have one, and that blaster won’t do much when those things get in your face.”

Cashis took the blade. “Thanks.” He started after the tracks, following them into the desert.

Cashis - June 29, 2007 12:27 AM (GMT)
Night had fallen over the desert. It had cooled down a bit, but was still hot. Cashis still followed the tracks of the Scyk. He had ran into a few other earlier but had quickly taken care of them. He entered a canyon when the tracks suddenly stopped. He looked around, baffled. How could the tracks just stop? It was like the Syck had just appeared in that spot. The tracks could have been covered by sand, but the old ones would have been too. Cashis noticed a spot on the side of the cliff, in the sand, it looked as if something had laid or landed there. Cashis walked over to the spot and knelt down. It was clear that the Syck was there. He could smell it’s scent, and, it’s tracks seemed to originate from there. Cashis picked up a crumbled rock and examined it. He looked at it and then tightened his grip on it. It had been a long time since he read the memories of a object. He used to do it as a kid, but was never good at it. His grandfather, though, was a pro. He hoped that this rock might have memories of where the Syck had came from.

Cashis tighten his grip on the rock and closed his eyes. He cleared his mind and focused. He put all his concentration on the rock, and nothing else. He then saw a faint image. The rock was in a different spot. It was higher, and in front of what looked to be a cave. Two Scyk’s came out and started wrestling with each other. One slipped, knocking himself, and the rock, off the cliff. They fell, bouncing off the cliff’s wall, the rock crumbling with each bounce, until they hit the ground. As soon as the rock hit the ground, Cashis snapped out of it. He stood up and looked at the top of the cliff above him. He smirked and then looked at the rock.

“Thank you little buddy.” He said to the rock, He threw it to the side and then looked around the cliff. There looked to be no way up it other then climbing. Cashis didn’t want to take the chances of walking around, seeing that that might take days. The only option was climbing. He cracked his knuckles and proceeded to climb. It would be so much easier if he had a Jet pack, but that would have to wait until he graduated. He continued to climb. Gripping one edge and then another, moving higher and higher.

OOC: Keep in mind that the weapons given to you by this old man, you can't keep them, hand them back once the mission is over. You can't get weapons for free, even if they are old. If you want a weapon, you have to buy it at the shop.

Cashis - June 29, 2007 01:48 AM (GMT)
OOC: I know. I just needed the weapon for now so I put it in there. I was actually just planning for it to getting broken.

Cashis reached the top after a few minutes. He pushed himself up and then fell on his back. He was breathing heavily. The climb took a lot out of him and he needed a short rest. He caught his breath and closed his eyes. After a minute, trough the ground, he could feel something approaching. It was coming fast. He opened his eyes and saw a Scyk coming straight for him. It’s mouth open, ready to bite off his head. Cashis rolled out of it’s way, allowing it to dart off the side of the cliff. It let out a scream and landed on it’s head. Blood splattered from the impact. Cashis laughed a little and got up. He brushed himself off and then headed into the cave. It was dark, very dark. He couldn’t even see his own hands. He pressed a hand on a cave wall and used it so he didn’t walk into anything. He tripped over something but continued on, thinking it was nothing.

He paused as he noticed something. A Scyk was walking trough the tunnel. Cashis didn’t move. The Scyk seemed to didn’t notice him and continued on it’s way. The cave must have been filled with them. After Cashis was sure it was gone, he continued walking. A weird smell filled the caves air. It was horrible, Cashis covered his nose, his face clenched up from the stink. He continued on and the smell seemed to be getting stronger. He turned a corner and entered a large area. The top of the cave seemed to be missing in this area, allowing for moon light to enter. Cashis was looking up the whole time as he entered. When he looked down he noticed a large Scyk. It’s back turned to Cashis as it gnawed on some kind of meat. The Scyck was much large then the others. It was like a over grown freak. Cashis pulled out his holdout blaster, and circled around the beast. He didn’t want to get close, nor, in front of it. When he got sight of one the Scyk’s eye, he took aim. He fired off a shot, hitting the eye dead on. He wished he did that good when shooting target while training. The Scyk roared in pain, stumbling away from what it was eating. It slammed into a wall, bringing down a few rocks. The cave wasn’t very stable. If that were to happen a few more times, the whole cave would crumble. Cashis then got a idea. He could use the Scyk to bring down the cave, and kill all the Scyks inside.

The Scyk ran around a while, blinded in one eye. Cashis continued to stay away from it. The Scyk finally caught a glimpse of him, and let out a loud roar. It charged forward towards Cashis. It’s mouth was open with it’s teeth showing clearly. Cashis moved out of the way of the mouth, but was hit by the Scyk’s shoulder, and flung into the air. He landed on the beast back. His body was a little banged up from the hit but he would survive. He sat up and pulled out the vibro blade he got from the old man. He stabbed it into the beast back, again and again. The Scyk freaked out in pain. It started to run around the whole room slamming into the caves wall, trying to get Cashis off. The Caves started to fall apart, crumbling with each hit. The Scyk paused and then with all it’s might, slammed the wall. Cashis was flung off before the hit, hitting the ground and rolling across the room. The blade had broke and was still in the Scyk’s back, the handle Cashis had. He looked up just in time to see boulders from the wall fall and crush the Scyk.

With that, Cashis jumped up and headed for the way he had came in. The whole cave was coming down, and Cashis didn’t want to be in it when it finished. He dodged a falling rock and then another. As he grew closer he tripped over something again. This time he looked back to see what it was. A man sat against the wall, his legs were ripped off, probably by the scyk’s. The man still lived somehow, and noticed Cashis.

“He-help…..me” The man said. He put his arm up for Cashis to grab.

Cashis started at the man. He could either help the man, risking vital time, and both their lives. Or leave him. It was a easy choice for him to make. He continued to the exit. His life was his main priority. That guy was nothing to him, or the mission. When he exited the cave, the entrance caved in. Sand flew into the air making Cashis cough with each breath he took. He walked away from the entrance and into a safe area. He got out some last cough and then started to breath deeply. All the Scyk’s that had been inside there were dead no. Along with that guy. Cashis felt sorry for the guy, but pushed the feeling back. After a few minutes he started to search for any last Scyk.

Cashis - June 29, 2007 01:50 AM (GMT)
All night, Cashis, searched and killed Scyks. When he was sure the area was safe, he returned to the farm. He was quickly greeted by the old man, who was moments earlier, yelling at a group of workers.

“Ahhh, so I see you live. Did you take care of the Scyk’s?” The old man asked, eagerly awaiting the answer.

“Yes, and brought down a cave in the process, but it was nothing much.” Cashis said. He rubbed his shoulder. It was soar, along with the other 99% of his body.

“gooood, and where’s my vibro blade? I don’t see it on you and I want it back. It belonged to my dead brother and is good for protection.”

Cashis tossed the man the vibro blades handle. “All yours. Had to use it to scratch a Scyk’s back. Broke in the process.” Cashis said with a smirk on his face. He then started back into the desert ready to go back to Mandalor.
