After some hours of travelling, the Thranta landed in one of the hangar bays of Mos Espa. During the journey Ayanna awakened and stayed in her cabin avoiding Kalin's company, as she was not pleased to join him on his quest.
Both walked down the ramp of the ship. Ayanna already has been on Tatooine, but it was the first time for Kalin, though desert planets were very comfortable and familiar to him. He enjoyed the warm air and when he was young he was one of the few who could enjoy the interraction with Tuskens. In the area of Mos Espa they were known to be very hostile, though in Kalin's youth he knew them as very friendly people who were excentric but still no treat to his home.
Ayanna kept gazing at those around her as they walked through the streets. It was unclear whether she was looking for trouble or for a face she knew. Although, she would rather be in the company of any of the people who walked past them, than with Kalin. She still refused to speak with him until this point, but she was beginning to loose her patience with him.
"So.... Is there a reason you have me tagging alone..... If you want something obedient that will be happy to follow you around the galaxy... Then I'd suggest you get a pet...... But for the moment, I'm questioning what the hell I'm doing here....."
"This is where Anakin Skywalker grew up.... Besides, Coruscant of course.... He lived here as a child..... I intend to find out what happened to him here..... I heard he had a step brother here..... Though no one knew..... And no one, strangely enough, investigated this.... But I will....."
They both walked, heading for a cantina.
Once again the Thranta arrived on the remote planet of Tatooine. Their goal to look for the boy who they pressumed to be the son of Anakin Skywalker, why? A vision Kalin had of the boy fighting with Darth Vader himself. Was it because he was the son of Skywalker? The one they thought was the Chosen One? The one who would bring balance to the Force? Maybe the prophecy was misread and this boy is the Chosen One not Anakin, so Kalin thought.
They rented two eopies and headed out into the desert once again. They had luck with the weather, no desert storms appeared on their path. So it did not take long before they finally arrived back at the Lars Homestead.
Their stay on Tatooine was very short but Kalin thought he could no longer gather any more information. Maybe later, more knowledge would come, but not yet. Ayanna herself was somewhat confused about Kalin's actions. His curiousity over that scruffy haired kid, his attitude towards the Jedi, Obi-Wan. She couldn't help but wonder where his mind set was.
They sat back in the cockpit of the Thranta, thought Ayanna sat there with more worries that she had when she last was in the chair, "What's troubling you Kalin...... Seriously..... What was all this about?..... I don't understand where you are coming from...... That Jedi? Why didn't you kill him......"
"If you want to know, he's going to die anyway..... I'm not sure why I suddenly felt conflicted when I saw a vision of his death..... In my position.... He should die.... He will become an enemy, so to speak..... That Jedi is hiding something..... And always when I come in the boy's presence..... He feels threatens and always intervenes, so he knows what the boy's destiny is..... He denies it, but he thinks the boy is The Chosen One..... I'm just not too sure about that....."
"But.... I thought the whole point of being a Dark Jedi..... Kalin.... Was to prevent the Jedi.... And their prophecies from succeeding...... Why are you fighting with your own side?!"
"I..... I'm not.... But something doesn't feel right about sending that boy to his death...... I don't care about that Jedi..... He will die by Vader's hands..... And the strange thing is, he knows it...... But he will do nothing to stop it...... It's like it also has something to do with the boy's destiny..... So I will wait until I find out how his path will be revealed....." Kalin explained.
She shook her head a little and sat back, "Well, I'll say one thing Kalin.... At least you're not boring! You change so much I feel like I should give you different names..... When I first met you? Despite the fact I wasn't a Jedi but in the presence of one, you were able minded to gut us both there on the spot! And then this boy and the Jedi? They are allowed to go off and live their lives..... I..... I find it hard to keep up..... Am I supposed to hate or respect Jedi, Kalin..... You're my teacher..... And I have to say.... You have a pretty mixed up acolyte sitting here!"
"No, I don't hate Jedi... I never hated them..... I even have some respect for them..... But as Vader's assassin, I just do what is requested of me..... I kill the Jedi, and I don't look back....." He explained.
She said nothing for a moment, curling her feet up on her feet, "Well, where are we going now?...."
"I'm afraid we'll have to go back to Korriban..... There is still something there I want to know more about.... remember the woman we met in the desert? We'll need to retrace her..... I want to find her....." He said with clenched teeth.
Ayanna lowered her head a little, "I'm dead....." She said with a somber tone as she thought about going back to the Academy again.
Kalin smiled, "It will be alright.... We'll figure something out....."
The ship finally sped into Hyperspace, heading back to Korriban.
