The palace was now peacefully quiet, although the footsteps of guards echoed gently through it's grand hallways. The Queen lay secure in her chamber, sleeping a well earned rest, unaware that her home was about to be envaded...... On a small scale. However, it was not to concern her wellfair.
Ayanna and Kalin had sat behind one of the pillars of the main entrance for some time now. The palace's vast pillars were handy for hiding. They watched and listened patiently, not making a sound, and occasionally glancing at one another to give a signal.
The footsteps had long since echoed off into a far place in the palace, and now was the right time to make their first move.
Ayanna looked to Kalin and pointed in the direction to which they had to go. They crept carefully, not making more than a breath of sound.
Suddenly, the murmering of voices erupted out of the dead silence. Ayanna and Kalin hid in the shadows as two handmaidens walked past. One of them looked to the wall in which they spread out against, although it was far too dark for them to be visable. She continued to glance in their direction. Did she know they were there? However, she turned her head and continued to quietly speak with her fellow handmaiden. The vanished back into the other side of the palace, gone to retire for the night.
Kalin and Ayanna took no chances, they waited 10 more minutes to be sure of their safety, and then began to walk again.
After a further 15 minutes of exploring, they turned into a large room, it looked like an office. Ayanna carefully closed the door behind them and locked it.
"It is pretty sound proof here but I would still keep your voice down to be sure..." She spoke quietly.
"This is the Queen's personal library, and also contains data on everything you would like to know about the History of Naboo, top secret or common knowledge, history of the Republic and so forth...... Quite a gold mine for those looking to spring up some dirt...."
She sat at a computer and began to type. She looked to Kalin and signalled that he should be doing something too.
Kalin stayed on his guard but occasionaly looked back to see what Ayanna was up to. He felt two guards were approaching in the distance. They were just calmly patrolling.
"Can you hurry up with that terminal! I sense two guards heading this way! What are you trying to do anyway..."
The guards were too close and Ayanna was too busy with the terminal. He hid behind a pillar and waited for those guards to pass by and in one move he swinged his lightsaber decaptitating both of them. Luckily his lightsaber didn't make much noise.
"We have to hide the bodies!" he whispered.
Ayanna didn't answer, she kept working on the terminal.
He sighed and dragged the bodies one by one and tried to hide them behind the huge pillars of the palace. But this wasnt going to work. If they found the bodies, next morning they would surely know that there was a break-in.
He quietly dragged the bodies to one of the windows, focused if anybody was nearby and threw them out of the window. Then later they could pick up the bodies and hide them somewhere, where they would not be found. That way, they would just be missing, but there wouldn't be proof of a break-in...
Ayanna inserted something into the terminal. She still said nothing and watched at the terminal. She was downloading information. She walked from it and went to Kalin with the device in hand.
"I have uploaded everything concerning Padmé Amidala, Queen Apailana and Queen Kylantha's careers..... And alo private logs that they posted"
She smiled.
"This is perfect, all we need"
Kalin was baffled.
"That's it?! That's what we came for? That's why we broke in the palace? just to get some lousy information?"
He was clearly angry.
"I had to kill two guards to get you this far! And all we have is some stupid data of your obsession? Well let's hurry then, we have to get out of here. We have to hide those bodies, otherwise they will surely know there was a break in....."
"Oh calm down, this is gold dust! You can't get this information anywhere else in the planet...... Even the dead Jedi would drool over this stuff!"
She helped him clear away the bodies.
The day was starting to break, it would not be long before the staff would emerge to prepare the palace for the day ahead. They made a swift exit and headed back to the plaza
