Title: The Gate of the Palace
Anakin - December 19, 2006 01:36 PM (GMT)
Jabba's Palace has one huge metal gate. Outside it isn't guarded, but if you want your way in, then you better have a good reason cause the gate does have security devices including a semi-intelligent droid gatewatcher built into several of the entrances. Once you're inside Gamorrean Guards await your entry. Later Bib Fortuna will arrive and conclude if you are worthy of meeting the almighty Jabba.
KayenXStorm - June 30, 2007 01:34 AM (GMT)
After an hour Eopie ride, Kayen reached the large metal door to Jabba's Palace. He dismounted his ride and approached the door, knocking loudly. Soon the gatekeeper droid answered with "Who are you and what do you want???"
Kayen jumped back kind of surprised by the droid but he soon straightened himself upright and answered "I come with a business proposal! A quarter of a ton of Kessel Spices... for a very "negotiable" price..."
The door soon opened and Kayen cautiously entered, awaiting escort to negotiate for the spices...
Anakin - June 30, 2007 01:47 AM (GMT)
Bib Fortuna approached him along with two Gammorean Guards and spoke in Huttese,
"What do you want here?? Stranger...."
KayenXStorm - June 30, 2007 01:53 AM (GMT)
Kayen spoke Galactic Base but he could understand Huttese. He looked at the Twi'lek and his guards before bowing to him slightly "I come to trade with Lord Jabba..."
lewy - July 1, 2007 12:06 AM (GMT)
Resei and the recruit waited a good distance from the gate, waiting for the Space Pirat to show up.
Finally the doors opened, and Resei revealed his position by waving his arms.
He would get a starship.
For a low price, he decided with a grin.
KayenXStorm - July 1, 2007 12:18 AM (GMT)
Kayen made his way out of the palace slowly, pulling up his hand over his eyes as the brightness of the sun blinded him. After a few minutes, he looked around and made his way over towards the bounty hunters.
"Are you Resei?"
lewy - July 1, 2007 12:24 AM (GMT)
Resei said nothing for a long while.
"Bring me a T-65 X-wing starfighter.
The pilot must NOT be a member of any important organisations or such!
How much will you charge?"
(I made a thread in the outer rim)
KayenXStorm - July 1, 2007 12:38 AM (GMT)
Kayen gasped and shook his head quickly.
"X-Wing??? ARE YOU MAD??? I could be killed for this!"
lewy - July 1, 2007 12:40 AM (GMT)
"And so could I! Anyway, it's your blasted job! What ship would you rather prefere??"
KayenXStorm - July 1, 2007 12:43 AM (GMT)
Kayen shrugged helplessly and then he started back into the desert with Resei.
"I'll do it for quite cheap... under one condition, Bounty Hunter..."
lewy - July 1, 2007 12:45 AM (GMT)
"If that's 'come with me' I'm not sure you'll wake up tomorrow...
Try me."
Resei kept walking, and made sure he and the recruit was on one side each of the Pirat...
KayenXStorm - July 1, 2007 12:48 AM (GMT)
Kayen watched them cautiously, keeping his hand near his DL-18 just in case he needed it fast.
"When I get the fighter to you, I want safe passage to Mandalore... to your school......"
lewy - July 1, 2007 12:52 AM (GMT)
Resei grinned, almost surprised.
"If you succes on your mission, I will take you to Mandalore myself if need be.
Then Fett will decide wether you may start or not.
This... happening must never get out, he said and looked sharply at all 3 of them, before walking away with the recruit.
"You can meet us at the hangers when you're done."
He said before leaving.

Diego had everything going according to his plan. He had several cartons on a small hovercraft. Inside the cartons were several new types of blasters, one of which was called: Firestorm, was the latest of technology. Some he had tested out himself. One of them was very nice because it never backfired or the trigger never got stuck. Plus it would not over heat like other blasters in the past that had to be thrown away and replaced. And blasters didn’t come cheap anymore. He hoped Jabba would be pleased but it had taken him over a month to get them and he had promised Jabba he would get them in four weeks. He knew Jabba would be a tad upset with him but he always got his booty not matter how hard it was. Getting the blasters however, had taken a bit longer because he had to get Alex to locate them using her computer skills, a feat which came in handy at times.
Looking down at her sleeping form his thoughts went back to their argument that took place an hour before he landed.
Flashback
Alex had just awoken from her nap and walked into the small eating area. She wiped away the sleep from her eyes and was startled when Diego came up behind her. Diego mused her hair and smiled down at her. “Feeling better?”
Alex nodded in response as she walked over to a pot where fresh caramel coffee was being warmed. After fixing herself a cup and sitting down at the table she asked. “So where are we?”
Diego’s smile faded as he sat down across from his daughter and only friend in the world. “The truth is Alex…we are in Tatooine, I have business with Jabba.”
The look Alex gave Diego wasn’t friendly, as a matter of fact it was a scowl.
“You jerk! Why are you back here! You told me you weren’t going to deal with him again!”
Diego stood up and walked over to Alex as he gently shook her shoulders. “Alex! Look honey I HAVE to do this, If not I’m dead. You hear me dead? You’ve heard the stories.”
Alex’s lower lip trembled and her eyes became teary as she looked up at her father. “Are you sure you’ll be all right?”
Diego smirked. “I’ll be fine. Don’cha worry I’ll be back before you know it. As for you well you are gonna stay put.”
“What! Who is going to guard your back? You conceited man! I’ve got to be there. What happens…if the impossible happens? You wouldn’t leave me alone would you? You and I Both Know YOU are the only family I have.”
Those words struck Diego in the heart. He knew this to be true and that his daughter had proven herself to him time after time. “Look Alex, I’ve asked you to do some criminal acts in the past and I want to ask for your forgiveness. Forgive this old fool for asking you to do something that you knew deep down in your heart was wrong.”
“Of course I forgive you Diego. It is in the past so do not worry about it. You’ve taught me much these past two years and I WANT to continue learning from you.” Alex replied and sniffed. “You had better come back in one piece if not I’ll kick you in your nuts!”
Diego laughed. “I will. I promise.”
What Alex didn’t notice was that he held a small item that looked to be like a small version of a water pistol. Then the next thing she knew was something stinging her in the back of the neck. The room suddenly began spinning and she had to grab onto the table.
“Diego what have you-“ she couldn’t finish the sentence when sleep overtook her entire body.
Diego grabbed hold of Alex and carefully walked back into the small room where she slept. He laid her sleeping form onto the small bed and placed a holographic device there along with one of the new Firestorm blasters he had stolen. He took of his ring and placed it next to the hologram device. Looking down at his best friend and daughter in the world he leaned down and kissed her forehead gently. Turning around he left the bedroom and walked down the platform. Once below he closed the platform to his ship and put the security code in place, the code the only Alex knew. Nodding to himself he wanted to get this job done with.
End Flashback
Now he stood at the front of Jabba’s Gates with his cargo behind him on the hovercraft. He waited for a guard to come and ask him what his business was. Thoughts ran through his mind but he pushed them aside. Nothing was going to happen. Everything was going to be fine - he hoped.
Kalin Thalis - July 20, 2007 01:30 PM (GMT)
While he was expecting a guard to open the gate, a gatekeeper droid jumped out of hole and immediatly asked him,
"Who are you and what is your business here!"
This droid was known to be arrogant in character, not because he chose to be, but it was programmed like that. If you didn't have a good reason to enter, then the gate wouldn't open at all, but its sadastic mind sometimes opened the door for visitors so they would make fine diners for Jabba's pet...the Rancor.

Diego watched the droid jump up from a hole hidden to those who wished to see Jabba. He ignored the droid's rudeness and calmly answered the question. The droid had always had a mean streak because of the programming, so he was used to it. He knew he didn't want to keep the droid waiting for an answer. Waiting too long would cost him his life.
"My name is Diego and Jabba hired me to steal some top of the line blasters. So I have come to pay him with the blasters." he gestured to the various crates on the hovercraft behind him. Looking at the droid he waited patiently for a reply.
Kalin Thalis - July 20, 2007 02:04 PM (GMT)
The gatekeeper droid didn't reply...instead it just laughed and the gate opened. Inside it was almost pitch black. Sometimes you could see droids pass by and you knew that those Gammorean Guards were around and could approach you any time, and this was no exception.
Two of them approached Diego, blocking his way. Not soon after, Bib Fortuna showed up and as boring as it was he asked the same as the gatekeeper did...only he required more information, more details than the droid.
"Jabba doesn't wish to be disturbed, if you don't have a good reason! Why are you here?!"

Diego stood still as Bib Fortuna walked up to him telling him Jabba didn't want to be disturbed. Sneering slightly he gave a curt reply. "I'm sure Jabba is very busy but you see he gave me, Diego a contract to use whatever means necessary to get the latest blaster called: Firestorm to him. So that is the reason I am here. I'm here to give Jabba his payment.." he stated as he gestured to the hovercraft with the crates behind him.

[Rasha's Departure]As the day wore on, a rented landspeed appeared outside the palace gate, and a lean looking twi'lek with pale blue skin made her way to the massive door, following along behind her human prisoner. She was dressed in an skimpy outfit that would for the most part not have looked out of place on a slave dancer -a dark green garment that did not cover her limbs and bared her cleavage with a long vertical slit that ended just above her waist. This was worn with a pair of matching cloth boots and a brown leather gunbelt, the holster of which was currently empty. The two-tone Blastech DL-18 it usually contained was in the Twi'lek's hand and trained on the human.
Stepping up beside her charge on the right side, the Twi'lek holstered her blaster and rapped on the door. When the gatewatcher droid appeared, she told it that she was there to collect the bounty on Suran Vel.
Kalin Thalis - November 3, 2007 11:59 AM (GMT)
The gatekeeper droid was as arrogant as always. It was like it was programmed to act any visitor in a different way cause it was never arrogant against allies of Jabba or individuals who would promise a lot of money to the gangster. The gatekeeper droid looked both to the Twi'Lek and to the prisoner. He then gave a sinister laugh and dissapeared back in the gate from where it came from. It seemed that it thought the Twi'Lek could enter but wouldn't leave the palace for good. The massive gate opened and as always it was almost pitch black inside.

Rasha felt extremely nervous as she looked upon the Palace's dark interior, but didn't let it show outwardly. Instead, she kept her gun hand positioned near her blaster -not directly on the weapon, as she did not want to appear hostile, but near enough to it to allow quick access. Not that the weapon's capabilities were likely to do her much good if things went wrong, but it was good to let potential opponents know that you were prepared for trouble.
That, and the fact that her blaster might well be useless didn't mean it wasn't reassuring.
Putting her free hand against her prisoner's back, Rasha pushed forward lightly.
"Move," she commanded. The two of them walked into the Palace's interior.
Kalin Thalis - November 3, 2007 06:16 PM (GMT)
Accompanied by two Gammorean Guards, Bib Fortuna stopped the Twi'lek and spoke,
"Why are you bringing this prisoner here?! Is this individual on Jabba's list? Otherwise, I think it's best for you to leave...." He grinned sinisterly.
The Gammorean Guards simply stood there, unaware of what was happening.
rkv8291 - November 3, 2007 07:03 PM (GMT)
Rasha eyed Fortuna cooly. She was rather nervous about the overall delivery process, but the majordomo wasn't a big contributor to that nervousness.
"Suran Vel, 500 Credits for failure to complete a delivery."
It was a minor bounty of Jabba's, but a bounty nonetheless.
Kalin Thalis - November 3, 2007 08:31 PM (GMT)
In a silent creepy voice Bib Fortuna replied "Follow me...."
He guided the bounty hunter to the throne room with the Gammorean Guards at the prisoner's side with their vibroax's pointed to his back. It was not long until they finally made it to the throne room, where the real bargaining would begin.

Steeling herself for what was to come, Rasha followed Fortuna.

rkv8291 - November 25, 2007 03:25 AM (GMT)
[Viscos' Base]Having parked Viscos' ship in the desert and radioed to one of the nearby settlements to rent a speeder bike, Rasha showed up at the door to Jabba's palace for the second time in the space of a few days.
[i]Let's hope this meeting goes better then the last one,[i] the Twi'lek thought to herself as she knocked on the palace door. Having found that Viscos' clothes did not fit her well, she was dressed in the same gold outfit she had worn aboard the Manticore, as well as Viscos' gunbelt, since her own blaster was still in storage from before her trip offworld. If anything, she was probably showing even more skin then she had the last time she'd come to the Palace, a fact that she was not entirely comfortable with. Thankfully, she had a much bigger catch this time around, and had also taken a number of safety precautions to ensure she had a stronger position when negotiating. One of these was the fact that she'd left Viscos aboard his ship and simply brought an item that the pirate had taken from one of Jabba's freighters as proof of his capture. This time, she wasn't going to lay all her cards out right from the start.
Steeling herself for the encounter that was to come, Rasha announced to the gatekeeper droid that she was there to claim the bounty on Viscos.

Kalin Thalis - December 7, 2007 10:25 PM (GMT)
After the gatekeeper opened the gate for the twi'lek she was soon encountered by Gammorean Guards and as usual Bib Fortuna showed up not even a minute after. He spoke to the Twi'Lek.
"It is dangerous for you to return here... I thought we gave you a fair warning last time" He grinned.
"Well it is your own life... If you want to see Jabba then please follow me." He grinned once more.
Not long after Bib Fortuna announced her to Jabba who wondered why she returned. He simply seemed to have forgotten about her and regretted that she wasn't sitting in the usual slave outfit for Twi'Leks at his side.
The protocol droid translated for him,
"Why have you returned now?! The great Jabba the Hutt wants to now why you have disturbed his sleep!"

A little over a week worth of time found Rasha returning to a place she was not overly fond of.
Is this really such a good idea? she asked herself as she approached the gate of Jabba's Palace, her latest catch in tow. The twi'lek had been chasing minor bounties on Tatooine since her return from Mandalore, and she'd finally ended up capturing another one that had been issued by the planet's most powerful criminal. The specific catch was an escaped slave girl, an extremely minor bounty that would hardly have been worth her time to track down had she had the means to go after larger catches.
Walking up to the palace gate with her frightened prisoner in tow, Rasha knocked and announced herself to the gatekeeper droid.
"I'm bringing in a bounty for his Excellency," she told it, keeping a firm grip on the chain that she was using to leash her quivering prisoner. The heavy door lumbered open, and she waited as Fortuna approached.
"I have a bounty for His Excellency," Rasha explained to Jabba's majordomo. "She's worth 250 credits."
As she spoke, Rasha thoughts strayed to the value of her catch. It was a pitiful bounty, hardly one that would impress the Hutt -in all honesty, had it not been such an easy hunt, she probably wouldn't have bothered with it. It wasn't worth very much.
Why did I even bother with this one? she thought as she held her captive's chain. Then an idea occured to her, one that might allow her to turn the situation to her advantage. In the short term, it would cost her, but in the long run, it might well pay off...
Kalin Thalis - July 7, 2008 04:26 PM (GMT)
The gatekeeper droid didn't make too much jokes and wasn't toying around with Rasha as it usually did with visitors. The droid remembered Rasha from coming earlier and had a more inward amusement, still thinking Rasha would end up at the end of a chain around her pretty neck.
Inside the cold air waved through the palace as the gate opened and two Gammorean Guards approached Rasha, wondering what she was doing here, and who she was guarding herself. They only grumbled at her, but as stupid as they were, they soon figured out, the one she was guarding was her own prisoner, so the large built guards escorted them both to the Throne Room, where Jabba awaited them both as he was notified of their presence.
