Title: Galaxies Opera House
Padmé - January 18, 2007 09:16 PM (GMT)
With its lush red carpets and luxury, this is surely the place for any higher classed individual to be seen socialising.
Seats are often sold very quickly but there are other ways of getting into the House
RayCaptain - April 3, 2007 01:54 AM (GMT)
Ray was stopped at the door by two men but he was quickly let in when they saw he was a trooper. The seats were taken so he stood at the back and when the show itself had ended the classy people who were there talked and mingeld. This made Ray sick for he'd never been rich and he hated rich snobs. He heard the starting conversation of Senator Vespo being assassinated but they always hushed when they noticed Ray around. He finally spotted two ladies talking but when they saw him one of them walked away. The other turned away but Ray confronted her.
"Might I ask what you were talking about?"
The woman's face went into a look of terror, "Y-yes sir,w-w-we were just talking about h-how th-the Senator was killed they say a young boy stabbed him three times...I-I'm sorry if that's off limits..."
"No mam I'm just wondering what everyone was talking about,"
RayCaptain - April 4, 2007 01:21 AM (GMT)
After learing that not many people suspected the Empire for the assassination Ray waited a little while and finally walked out the door. He then saw a storm trooper standinng outside. He went and talked a lttle with him and waled off towards Westport...He was getting tired.
Christopher Enyar - June 19, 2007 09:13 PM (GMT)
Chris did not expect this to be a difficult mission as he entered. He met up with his troopers. Having command over them was a pleasure in and of itself. They followed his orders to a tee. He had most of them wait in an empty alleyway, their mission was to keep it empty and wait.
Two other stormtroopers walked with him. He made his way to the Opera house and spotted his target. He made his way up to the private spot and spoke. "Sir," he said, calm and professional. "An important matter has come to our attention. We have been ordered to bring you with us as an advisor." It was a calm lie, one not likely to be thought of as a lie.
Christopher Enyar - June 20, 2007 12:27 AM (GMT)
Remus-Qui looked cautiously at the young man. He was getting nervous just looking at the emotionless helmets, but he knew he was safe. If they had known about him already, they would have killed him in a different way then sending troops. He followed the young Assassin.
Chris led him to the alley. This was easy. Senators were too easy to manipulate with simple words, as they were trained more for advanced linguistics for politically correct speech and such. When confronted by blunt speech, politicians are always easy to manipulate.
The operation was quick as he got to the alley. All it took was a simple stab to the heart and with only a gasp, the Senator was dead. Chris ordered his troops to dispose of the body. Their method was simple. They burned it, and crutched the ashes into little more then dust. Chris ordered them to look for any possible witnesses. Any that could have possibly seen it were not there, so Chris assumed that none had.
It was a good assumption as none had actually witnessed it. Things were all clear, and Chris and his units moved out back to their ship and took off for the Devastator.
bruinfamer - June 24, 2007 11:47 PM (GMT)
Being dropped off by the taxi, Oron walked up the steps to the Opera House. Oron walked into the massive building to see dozens of people lining up for the next show. Oron then walked up to the service desk.
"Good evening, I am here for a job oppurtunity at the Opera House."
Padmé - June 25, 2007 12:33 PM (GMT)
A man with a stern appearance looked the young man up and down,
"I see.... What qualifications do you have? Are you with a university or is this visit merely in passing?"
bruinfamer - June 26, 2007 01:53 AM (GMT)
Oron reached for his University papers."I have recently joined the University of Business on Coruscant. I am very good with people and follow directions very well."
Padmé - June 26, 2007 01:28 PM (GMT)
The man looked over the sheet he had been handed, and seemed to change his expression.
"Ah excellent.... Well, the only opening I have is in assistant management. The title is however more of a reward than the job itself. There are more than one assistants already, and you will acompany them. The manager is Ms Lyra Stoma..... You must go and meet with her.... She will assign you your tasks that she will expect of you..... Just so you know.... This job pays 300 Credits per week. I know it's not much but you are in training....."
The man hands him over a security pass.
"This will allow you access to the rest of the Opera House.... To find Ms Stoma's office, simply take the turbolift to level 7, follow the corridor, you can't miss it...." The gentleman bowed slightly in welcoming him as part of the team.
OOC: You can add 300 Credits to your balance.... And remember every monday to add another 300, try to keep track of it ;)
bruinfamer - June 26, 2007 05:04 PM (GMT)
Oron was excited. Putting his 300 credits in his pocket, Oron walked over to the turbolift. He wondered what his wifes reaction would be, same with his kids and parents. The turbolift took him to level 7.
Padmé - June 26, 2007 05:09 PM (GMT)
As the doors of the turbolift opened, a young woman stood in front of it, waiting to enter also.
"Ah... hello.... Can I help you at all?"
bruinfamer - June 26, 2007 08:38 PM (GMT)
"This will allow you access to the rest of the Opera House.... To find Ms Stoma's office, simply take the turbolift to level 7, follow the corridor, you can't miss it...." The gentleman bowed slightly in welcoming him as part of the team.
OOC:Just putting this here to see what I am going to say
Oron bowed,"Yes, I was told to come see Ms. Stoma's office. I am one of the assistant managers that was recently hired here to work at the Opera House."
Padmé - June 26, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)
"Yes, I am Ms Stoma..... Welcome aboard..... I'm afraid I don't have time to give you a tour, but if you go into my office over there, you will see there is a collection of uniforms. Pikc out the one your size. I want you to oversee the seatings and reservations for now..... If you want more help, speak with Lan.... he's also an assistant......"
bruinfamer - June 26, 2007 10:17 PM (GMT)

Pikc out the one your size. I want you to oversee the seatings and reservations for now..... If you want more help, speak with Lan.... he's also an assistant......"
Oron walked into Ms. Stomas office. Her office was magnificent. Flowers were hung against the walls, paintings of famous Opera people hung against the wall, and a wide window view of the Opera Stage was at one end of the office.
Oron walked over to the uniforms. He picked his size and changed into the uniform. After straightening his uniform, Oron walked down towards the seats. Oron began searching for Lan as the crowd began making their way towards the seats.
OOC:I am not sure if I am supposed to post as Lan, or not. If I am not, I will just set up for his post.
Padmé - June 27, 2007 10:54 AM (GMT)
Finally a well groomed young man walked over, recognising the uniform but not the new face.
"Hey there..... I'm Lan.... Well I guess a congrats is in order for getting this job...... I'm guessing you're from the university? I am also...... Right.... Come with me then...."
They began to walk through the building.
"What your job will be..... Is to make sure that the ticket sales, reservations, seating arrangements and promotions are done well..... The higher the ticket sales, the less hassle on the night.... The better you will look...... The company itself promotes it's own performances, but it would not hurt if you were to do some light promotions also..... The ticket prices are pretty much set, and of course, depending on what is being performed will also greatly effect the price...... It is up to you however, whether to offer reduced prices, for a particular night..... But that will depend on reservations...... If there are alot of empty seats..... Alot of questions will be asked to why..... Your job is to fill those seats........ Any questions so far?"

"Yes, I have two questions. One is how will I know which seats are reserved? Am I to recieve a list or something of who sits where? Also, what do you mean by light promotions?"
Padmé - June 27, 2007 12:27 PM (GMT)
"The seats will be labelled once they are reserved. We have lights situated at the front of them. If they are reserved they will glow red..... Once a reservation has been made, it will be presented on the list in the different sections depending on the seating areas of the Opera House. You have the private booths at the top around the theatre halls, which are usually for the extremely wealthy, then you have the premiere seats which are not as expensive as the booths but they provide great views. Then you have standard seatings which are at the very front, the view is not so fantastic but still people come......"
They continued to walk as Lan pointed out the different seats,
"Now.... Each night of a performance, you will need to ensure that everything runs smoothly..... There will be too many reservations for you to deal with yourself.... So you will split the reservations up into do-able amounts, and then give them to the staff..... You have 10 workers who will serve as waiters, guides, receptionists, greeters and so forth..... So use them to also take people to their seats, but makesure they check back to you that the reservations have been completed and that people are in the correct seats..... You can also do some of the reservations yourself, but I would save yourself the most respectful customers..... Such as Senators, Royalty and so forth....."
"Concerning light promotions? Well if you notice that a few days before opening night that there have not been enough seats sold.... Strategize..... Whether it's best to promote through the HoloNet, in bars, cantinas, banners throughout the city...... You can do that.... Where as Ms Stoma decides on the main promotions...... The Booth seats are almost always filled, you are unlikely to need to worry about those..... But the premiere and standard seats are the issue....... The better the job you do.... The faster your study will go, and the higher you will rise in the company....."
bruinfamer - June 27, 2007 12:47 PM (GMT)
OOC:Do I post as the workers?
Padmé - June 27, 2007 01:06 PM (GMT)
OOC: Yes you can post as the workers, but you can only use them while at work and not to gain advantages. They will do as you request them to

After saying goodbye to Lan, Oron called all 10 of the workers to the lobby. It was getting close to show time and they had 45 minutes until the crowd was allowed to enter. The workers all lined up, shoulder to shoulder.
"Greetings, my fellow associates. My name is Oron Marka, and I am your assistant manager."
The workers all mumbled hi as Oron gazed at them.
"Tonight, I have assignments where everyone will be. We will have 3 workers at the entrance, collecting and tickets. I have a list of all the reservations," said Oron as he began passing out a list of the reservations on the different sections. Oron also passed out communicators."These will be used for communicating with eachother. I want the people who are making sure that the customers that reserved these seats are in the correct seats, and of course, perfectly happy."
As the workers nodded, Oron continued on,"Menus for drinks and small foods will be placed at all sections of the seats. 2 workers, plus myself, will be at the private booths. 3 workers will be in the premium seating, guiding the people towards their seats. The other two workers will be at the standard seating, guiding people to their seats. Doors will be closed right as the Opera starts. Once it starts, no one is allowed to enter. Once someone leaves, they are not to come back. By leaving, I mean the Opera house, not the section. They have to go to the bathroom, right?"
The workers laughed at Oron's small joke."Now, once everyone is in and the opera has started, the 3 workers at the front will divide up. 1 worker will go help the private booths, 1 will help the pemium seating, and the other worker will help the standard seating. Ten minutes before each play, we will begin taking orders from the customers. We have the finest drinks and food this Galaxy has to offer."
Oron looked at his watch."Alright, everyone go to your posts. We will allow the crowd to enter in 5 minutes.
OOC:How's that? Anything need to be fixed?
Padmé - June 27, 2007 02:08 PM (GMT)
OOC: Excellent ;) Keep it up!
bruinfamer - June 27, 2007 04:39 PM (GMT)
OOC:Thank you.
The plan was going well. The viewers seemed quite satisfied from Oron and his workers. Everyone had made it to their seat quite fine, they loved the food and drinks that were served. But most of all, they loved the show.
Oron caught glimpses of the show everytime he came to serve the people. He thought it was wonderful and that he would have to take his wife out here some time, just the two of them. That would have to wait until Oron could get some credits to bring food for his family and keep a roof over their heads.
The show was finally over. Oron stood at the exit, waving and thanking the viewers. He wished them a good night and when the last one left, he gathered all of his workers.
"Good work tonight, fellas. Let's do the same thing tomorrow. Were there any problems?" asked Oron.
One of the workers stepped up."There was about 10 empty seats in the front row," said the worker,"and we caught one person trying to take a reserved seat."
"Did you call security?"
"Yes, we did and they escorted the person outside, sir."
"Alright, good work. I think we should have a "check in" area where people who have reserved seats have to check in at the check in area, they have to show proof of their identification to get to their seats. Better yet, when someone wants a reserved seat(s), we take their picture and encript it into our system. This will help us see if people are making false identifications or not."
The workers nodded with the idea, but Oron would have to get it approved by Ms. Stoma. He went towards her office.
Padmé - June 27, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
Ms Stoma walked proudly as she glanced around at her workers. She saw Oron come towards her and gave a smile.
"Ah.... Mr.... Marka is it?.... How can I help you, young man?"
bruinfamer - June 28, 2007 12:00 AM (GMT)
"Ms. Stoma, we had one person sneak past our ushers. It was not the workers fault. Apparently, he claimed to be the real person that reserved the seat, and what do you know, the real person shows up. Our security officials escorted the man out of the Opera House and that got me thinking. What if, when someone wants their seats reserved, we take their picture and encript it into our system, knowing what they look like. That way, when someone is about to enter their section, we look at out list and determine if it is the same person or not. This is just to stop any further actions that may occur in the future. We want our customers happy, right?"
Padmé - June 28, 2007 11:23 AM (GMT)
"Hmmm, it's possible.... But be wary with that territory also..... There are those who are able to transform to look like others..... But we cannot go so far to ask for blood now can we..." She gave a little laugh, "Well.... Trial run it.... If you find it to be successful then we will compltely enforce it..."
bruinfamer - June 28, 2007 01:59 PM (GMT)
"Well aren't there systems that can tell if there are changlings?"
Padmé - June 28, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
"It's not simply changlings I'm worried about..... Our biggest issues, concerning our higher class and important guests, is their safety.... The events at the Senate over the past months have pushed us to be extra cautious. Several Senators have been killed, and for a high secured place as that.... It is shocking.... So we need to be extra vigilant...... We cannot have a scandal on our hands..... People must feel safe here..... My suggestion is that with our more important guests, be sure to find out who will be escorting them, and also gain their identifications and appearances..... They may be able to pass as one individual but not an entire group..... If you hear any problems about privacy and what not, just explain to them that it is in their best interests...... Further issues, just pass them straight through to me....."
bruinfamer - June 29, 2007 09:54 AM (GMT)
"Alright, I'll get to work on it tomorrow." With that being said, Oron left the Opera house after helping clean the place. He then left for his home.

Coming back the next day, Oron began reviewing the list of the more "important guests", as Ms. Stoma put it. There was a few dozen. One that caught Oron's eye was 5 important Senators. One was from Bespin, the other Corellia, Dantooine, Onderon, and finally, Taris. Oron would want to keep an extra eye on them. Their identifications were fixed into the security system.
Oron then looked at all of the Senator escorts. They seemed to be checked out. All of them seemed loyal to their Senators. They were all from their planet. Oron began setting up for future events.
Padmé - June 29, 2007 05:40 PM (GMT)
Ms Stoma walked up to Oron, "Well, how did you plan work out.... Is it showing positive effects?"
bruinfamer - June 29, 2007 09:33 PM (GMT)
Turning around while holding a datapad in his hands, Oron said,"Suprisingly Ms. Stoma, it actually is. Our background checks on the escorts have not raised any eye brows. In private, we spoke to the Senators alone and they understood. They knew that with the recent happenings in the Senate, their lives would be in danger. They also said that they would cooperate by any means necessary."
Padmé - June 29, 2007 10:54 PM (GMT)
"Excellent, we shall keep up this from now on..... Thanks to you Mr Marka.... You can expect a bonus for your decision...... Have you had any other ideas up your sleeves? Don't worry, I'm not testing you.... I'm merely curious.... walk with me..." She spoke, wanting to make her rounds through the Opera House to check on the management.
bruinfamer - June 29, 2007 11:50 PM (GMT)
Walking before the show started seemed wonderful. Oron did have a few ideas."Well, you know how we always have people waiting in line for a ticket to the Opera? What if we had a waiting room for them? You know, so they feel like they are actually in the room. It could have paintings of famous actors, plays, candles, etc."
Oron began observing a picture of Chancellor Palpatine, who was now known as Emperor Palpatine."I am not sure if we have any "deaf" viewers, but if we do and if they can see, we can give them a copy of the script so they can follow along and have a better understanding of what is happening in the play from both a visual stand point and a readable stand point."
Then turning towards a window of the stage, Oron had another idea."Do we have any bars? You know, places where the viewers can go have a drink between shows? Also, maybe from the seats, in all sections, there could be a little computer next to them. This way, they can order right from their seats, then we could either have a worker deliver it to them, or possibly, a droid."
Padmé - June 29, 2007 11:59 PM (GMT)
"Yes we have a food and drinks ordering system for each of the guests, although not in the standard seatings. Mostly those there cannot afford it..... However I do like your idea concerning the waiting room..... Although, we would need to find sufficient space for this.... We will not be able to build another section to the Opera House, the tax alone would be breaking..... However, I'm sure you will be able to find a way to resolve this.... But be wary about this.... Who will we allow to use the waiting area..... And who will have priority? We do not have an infinite amount of space.... So if we have a situation where we have crowding.... What happens then? To ask people to move would only offend them..... So what can be done to prevent this and keep the natural flow of the guests during the show nights?..... Concerning deaf viewers, we have holo-projection screens already that provide the script, but still it was good that you were aware of it........"

"The ordering devices could be for the wealthy only. This will allow us to use droids in the lower sections and humans at the luxury sections. Thing is, I am not sure if not everyone will like having droids deliver their food and drinks."
After saying this, Oron focused his attention on the waiting area. The Opera House was always packed and this situation needed to be fixed."You know, there are other businesses around here. Some larger or the same size as the Opera House. If we can strike a business deal with one, or more, of the businesses, this might resolve our problem. To transport the viewers from point a to point b, we could use a shuttle. Are there any businesses close to the Opera House that you think might be willing to help us? As for who will be allowed into the waiting area, I think we should have it be for the standard seating, the people who can't afford the higher seating. You know how most of the higher class reserve their seats. Since they reserve their seats all the time, the lower class can feel less ignored, and know that we work for them as well. Since the lower class is already paying for somewhat high priced seats, they should not have to pay for the transit. Maybe, the transit fee could be included into the seating fee. For instance, if you buy an Opera Ticket, you have the choice of getting the transit ticket, which could be used to go to the Opera House and to leave the Opera House, back to the station, or they could just wait it out and hope that they get in alright."
Taking a breather, Oron continued on."This transit system will also prevent safety hazards in case there was an emergency in the Opera House. It is a win win situation for us. The customers will be happy, word of our business will spread throughout our partners, ticket sales will go up, profit sales will go up, but most importantly, everyone will enjoy their show."
Padmé - June 30, 2007 12:48 AM (GMT)
She smiled as she listened to his ideas, "Right..... Well instead of me giving my decision now.... I think you know what I am going to do.... Test it.... Have a trial run as you di previously..... It will take quite some time for us to gain a good grounds to determine the success of something like this..... As for local businesses, I heard recently that the Baath Brothers were thinking of opening a more.... Up class Cantina in the Entertainment District, they own the Outlander Club..... If you can speak with them, and try to work out a deal.... Then you can begin..... So I suggest you make sure to plan this out well.... It will be your responsibility, and the Baath Brothers are not ones to be fooled around with..... Tell them that our part will be that we will bring our customers to their new up class cantina and escort them back, and we shall do that every night of a performance....... This will give them instant publicity..... That is their benefit........"
bruinfamer - June 30, 2007 03:02 PM (GMT)
"Alright, I'll get right on it." Bowing his boss, Oron left the Opera House, took a taxi, and headed for the new local business.
bruinfamer - June 30, 2007 04:16 PM (GMT)
Coming back from the successful deal, Oron took the turbolift to Ms. Stoma's office. He walked up to her with a big smile."It's a done deal."
Padmé - June 30, 2007 04:25 PM (GMT)
She smiled, "So I've heard, I passed the news on to Romeo.... He's the boss above us all, he's very pleased with your efforts..... The Golden Corrina has now been opened, but now you have to shine Oron..... Tonight we are showing an old classic..... Squid Lake, it will be packed with all you can imagine...... So I want you personally to oversee the event. You will escort our most respected guests to The Golden Corrina and see to it everything runs smoothly....... Once everything has been done, it will be up to you to get your workers to contact each and every customer who booked the viewing booths and find out their opinions of our new feature to their night out...... It is alot to ask of you..... But it will ultimately decide whether the time has come to promote you.... Or not....."
OOC: This will require quite some work. You'll need to do it from start to finish as detailed as you can. Start here at the Galaxies Opera House and detail the coming of the guests, the journey to The Golden Corrina, then post there and explain the events that happen there. Whether good or bad, smooth or complicated and then the return back to the Opera House, right until the end of the night.
Depending on your details and imagination...... I will decide what the next step is for you ;) Good luck!!
bruinfamer - June 30, 2007 04:32 PM (GMT)
OOC:*Jaw drops*Oh joy, this should be interesting. I am not sure when I will be able to start this. I MIGHT be able to start it right now, not sure though. Now it is just me posting, not you right? Unless there is a Senator that will be stopping by...*prays there is not*
