Title: The Weary Traveler

Anakin - January 10, 2007 06:05 PM (GMT)
The Weary Traveler is not like the cantina's such as Mos Eisley. It's much more calm as mostly farmers visit here. It is one of the only moments of joy farmboys can find in their lives cause life as a farmer is pretty boring.

The Weary Traveler is one of the two small cantinas in Anchorhead on Tatooine during the time of the Clone Wars. Obi-Wan Kenobi frequented it. It features a HoloNet receiver, a vaporator, and a selection of offworld brandy.

After a bit of sneaking, and a whole lot of walking, Resei found himself present at The Weary Traveler.
Inside was many shabby persons.
He found he could like the place.

"Hey, bartender," he said when he was by the bar.
"Can you tell me who the people present are?"

Resei had nothing better to do.

Anakin - June 29, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
"Just a few teenagers..." He spoke with a gritty, harsh voice, "That boy for example goes by the name of Tank.... The other is called Biggs..... And that's Luke over there.... But everyone calls him Wormie.... He's a bit of a nerd..." He laughed as he continued to serve drinks.

lewy - June 29, 2007 11:14 PM (GMT)
Resei walked over to the gang.
Teenagers like himself...

"My I take a seat?" Then he realised how intimidating he could might be with his armor, and took of hs helmet.
He decided he might be a 'happening' too, a bounty hunter speaking to them!
He smiled at them.
At the same time he studied them, judgingly.
They were just like himself, he thought.
Longing for freedom outside Tatooine...
He vaguely remembered a better and easier time, when that had been his only concern...

Anakin - June 29, 2007 11:17 PM (GMT)
The whole gang looked at him with great suspicion, especially due to the armour he was wearing. They didn't recognise it but it didn't look trustworthy. And especially Luke was in great suspicion due to his experience with two strangers at the moisture farm yesterday.

Biggs, as the oldest, was the first one to greet Resei, "Hi stranger, what are you doing on this rock? I don't recognise you....."

lewy - June 29, 2007 11:22 PM (GMT)
When he spoke it was perfect Tatooinian:

"You might, and you definetaly will from the look on your faces, not believe me, but I was once a farmer here... My Moisture Farm was assaulted by a gang of Tuskens, and now I am a..." he lowered his voice and looked around, checking for listeners.
"Let's just say I mostly live on Mandalore...
Well, I assume you all burn to get off this bl**dy rock, eh?
So did I.
And man, sometimes I long back to those times...
Anyway, how old are you guys?"

He saw Luke was very suspicious, and decided the "nerd" could actually have made a good... He was not sure, perhaps bounty hunter?

Anakin - June 29, 2007 11:32 PM (GMT)
Biggs spoke again, "Well I'm 17.... So is Tank, and Luke is 16..... I heard tales about Mandalore, they say Bounty Hunters gather there to train..... Are you one of them?.... Sorry to hear about your farm by the way.... Here, let me buy you a drink.... Same again boys?" He spoke to his two friends who agreed.

lewy - June 29, 2007 11:44 PM (GMT)
"You say bounty hunter- I say that's what I am. But not who I am...
I mean, it's fun, but...
Well, I feel like wnating to do something else, sometimes...
It's more espionage rather than assassinating, really..
Uhm, no, I am here because I wanted to visit my old farm, not on a mission...
Wow, you're 17 you say? That's as old as me!
Planning to keep farming for the rest of your lives, or feel like you're born to something more great?
And know what, I met a really weird couple lately!
They were drunk, one man and one woman, looking for something..
Oh, sorry if all my questions bore you, it's just been so long since last time I could chat with Tatooinian farmers rather than imperial Lords..."

Resei accepted the drink, feeling light mooded.

Anakin - June 29, 2007 11:50 PM (GMT)
The bartender spoke up, "Hey! These two you speak of? Were they dressed in black? One pretty young with a long cloak and a girl with blonde hair and really green eyes?..... I saw them too! They freaked me out! Anyway, they went further into the Dune Sea days ago, luckily they didn't come back...."

Luke became cautious again as this was the same duo that had visited the Homestead yesterday.

"Hey! I saw them too! It was really strange.... My Uncle Owen was really nervous around them.... I'd never seen him like that..... And you know what? The strangest thing happened..... Ben showed up.... You know him guys.... Ben Kenobi...." Luke spoke.

Tank and Biggs were surprised as they knew Ben Kenobi was not a person you would see every day. He lived as a hermit.

"That crazy old man?" Tank asked, "What did he want?"

"I don't know..... My uncle ordered me inside, when I came back everyone was gone and he wouldn't speak about, just told me to forget it.... And get on with my chores pff...." Luke answered, annoyed.

lewy - June 29, 2007 11:55 PM (GMT)
Light headed as he was because he was in such a mood, Resei barely caught his tongue.
He knew the bartender had been listening, and he smiled at his reaction.

"This is strange.. Those (he coughed VIOLENTLY, almost saying Sith) means bad luck..
Uhm... What can you tell me about this.. Ben?
I believe some crazy old fools aren't so crazy and foolish as us young ones..."

Resei stared questioningly on Luke.
The silent little 'nerd' had catched his interest.

Anakin - June 30, 2007 12:03 AM (GMT)
Biggs spoke up for Luke, "Oh Ben's harmless, he's a friendly old man but we don't see much of him.... he sticks with himself..... So you met the same two Luke did? Strange.... How did it go?"

lewy - June 30, 2007 12:14 AM (GMT)
"That, Biggs, is not for your ears.
And that is also a bit due to the fact that THE WHOLE CANTINA IS LISTENING!" At that he turned, catching the bartenders eyes, who stared at them non-stop now.
He hurriedly resumed watching a dish, making a great show of not looking at them again.

"The short version," he continued, "is that I ended up having to bury my mother's ashes rather than her body..." He clenched his jaw in anger and sorrow.
"And that is already more than you stricktly HAVE to know.
I would be interested in meeting this Ben...
And your uncle, Luke...
I feel I should discuss this with them rather than you...
Anyway, I have spoken for a long time.
ANybody else wanna talk?"

Anakin - June 30, 2007 12:23 AM (GMT)
"I think you should leave now Sir....." The bartender spoke, referring to his rude tone.

Biggs looked at him, feeling this tension coming from him which made him seem dangerous. He also thought it was better for he and for his friend Luke to distance themselves. Though Luke spoke, "I don't think you should talk with my Uncle, he is in a very bad mood cause of what happened yesterday..... He doesn't like strangers coming unannounced..... He's just like that with everyone...."

lewy - June 30, 2007 12:29 AM (GMT)
Resei rose.

"I see. Thank you for your friendlines.
It has been a nice time!
And you," he said and turned towards the bartender.
"Could do with a LITTLE less rudenes..."

Then he left, with his hand treatheningly near the blaster at his side.

"Hrmpf. Farmers. Wouldn't realise it even if the whole Devestator was docking at their earth...
I can't believe I actually have ever missed this!"

He equipped his helmet, entering the night like a beatle loaded with death.
