Title: Hunting Trials

Anakin - January 10, 2007 12:12 AM (GMT)
During training trainers hand out missions to hunt down and carry out missions. This concerns either the hunting of a person or finding and stealing of an object without being noticed. This is perfect training for combat and stealth.

Resei Mantoks mission to "locate and illiminate that Twi'lek"...

Walking through the jungle, he felt rather alone. And scared. He did not know if the Twi'lek he was sent to kill was armed, or where he was.

As he had walked about an hour, he began to relax, He had not found any traces of the Twi'lek yet, and he started to believe that he had maybe already been killed by someone else. But then he saw something that made him concentrate again. A tiny piece of something that could have been clothing. And some broken bushes. From what he already knew of hunting after tracking down some Tuskens and other creatures as the farmer boy he had once been, he quickly found the direction. The Twi'lek was doomed...

He had run even since they let him loose. He could not rest, as he was sure they had sent out someone to hunt him down. The only weapon he had was a tiny Blaster Pistol he had managed to get his hands on. He suspected the Mandalorians knew he had done it, and had let him take it to make the hunt a little more exciting. He ran and ran, not aware of how close a young Kiffar was...

Finally his hunt should end. He now knew excactly where the Twi'lek was. He had been stupid enough to run whitout stop in god knew how many days. It was clear he was frightened. He obviously didn't think clearly. This was going to be an easy one. The only thing that could make him loose this target was if it ran itself to death, the stupid thing. Everybody with a little sense left knew that you couldn't survive running for days. He smiled as he felt the joy of the hunt. This was exciting!

Finally he colapsed. In the middle of nowhere. Gods, how stupid he had been! Thinking he could keep running like that forever was the thoughts of an insane man, he knew that. Perhaps there was no hunters after him at all. Maybe they didn't care, and maybe he could escape back to Ryloth in a little while. He did not concentrate, his head was light after the long run...

The Twi'lek had stopped. Now was time to strike.
He carefully sneaked up towards him. He was close now. He could see the Twi'lek. He could see he was smiling stupidly. He was insane, Resei thought. It was just to steady his gun, and then... Something in him told him to get it done. But there was still something in him that found it to easy. It would have been no problem if he had faced a sane target, but this was a mad man. Perhaps he should steal the Twi'leks weapon and kill him with that? That would bring him honour, perhaps. But it was unneccesary. And Bounty Hunters didn't do uneccesary things, did they? Well, atleast he could go a little further behind and take a head-shot from a certain distance. Yes, he would do that. It would have been a fitting end of the hunt.
He started moving...

The shot came from nowhere, he thought. And that was mostly his only thought. It came in the same second he had decided to leave the planet. In fact, he had started to rise in the very moment Resei shot. The shot which would have hit him high in the head, had hit him right in his tample. It was a perfect shot, much thanks to the Twi'lek himself. But he couldn't know that, as he was lying dead on the ground, his head in a lake of his own blood...

Resei aimed. The Twi'lek sat there, resting. He would enjoy pulling the trigger, he thought. His first payback to the society... But still, he had nothing personal against this Twi'lek. In fact, he didn't hate Twi'leks so much as humans. One of his friends was a Twi'lek... What had this man done to deserve this? Resei shock his head in disbelief. This was not how a decent Bounty Hunter would react! It didn't matter what the man had done, because a Bounty Hunter was cold and merciless as a stone. And he was a Bounty Hunter. Atleast he was training to be one. He knew this kill would be important. His first. This would make him something closer to the cold man he was going to be. This was going to make killing easy for him. He pulled the trigger with a cold smile.

The Twi'lek tried to rise, he realized. He rose right into the shot, granting Resei a clean and perfect head-shot from a distance of 10 metres. Not bad for the first time! He sat still for a long time, feeling the how it had been. It felt good. He smiled again, cold, and went to pick up his trophy. As he walked back to the Mandalorian Camp, he smiled. Resei one, society also one. They were even, but he would not stop until he was in the lead with atleast fourty. He smiled when he realised he would probably not stop before long after that.

He kept walking, feeling light and good mooded. Killing suited him good.

EbeneezerAl - February 4, 2007 05:06 PM (GMT)
Alucard moved between the trees, staying low in the underbrush. After sneaking around in the shadier parts of Corellia, he had learned how to stay hidden, and this jungle offered far more cover than the shadows of back alleys. He would need the element of surprise if he was to capture Marto Jadin alive, at least if he was going to do it without causing too much damage.

Looking up from his cover, he saw something suspicious. Making his way to it, he found a body hidden in the underbrush. It was another trainee, who had apparently failed his hunting trial, presumable killed by Jadin. His light blaster was missing, taken by his attacker. Alucard looked around on the body for anything he could use, but the trainee was as lightly equipped as he was.

I guess you weren't worthy to be a hunter, he thought to the corpse. If Jadin did take your blaster, this just got more interesting

Looking around in the underbrush, he found where the plants showed signs of having been moved through. Where they were slightly parted, crushed under a man's weight. If the attacker was in fact Jadin, this was where he had gone. Not having anything else to go off of, he followed the trail.

Alucard followed the trail after nightfall, moving as quietly as he could. He was beginning to wonder if he was gaining on his quarry or not when he heard a distinctive sound, a distant crackling. The sound of a fire. As he got closer he could smell the burning wood. He could see the flickering red-orange glow of the flames.

What a fool, he though. He gave off his position.

Alucard moved in cautiously, taking great care not to reveal his position. Jadin was still armed, no matter how foolish, and while his armor could protect him, it did have its weak spots.

As he neared the clearing in which the fire was made, he saw a figure lying on the ground in the underbrush. He neared expecting it to be Jadin, when he noticed that it was another Mandalorian, this one killed by blaster. He looked into the clearing to see no silhouette by the fire, the distant jungle pitch black in contrast to the bright fire. A realization dawned on him.

Not so foolish after all, he thought. Very clever, in fact.

There was one flaw in his plan however. The light of the fire rendered Jadin as blind to its surroundings as it rendered Alucard. So Jadin sat still, looking around for any sign of his target.

His sign came when the fire began to die down. As the soft flickering glow began to lower, all but turning into smoldering wood and ash, a red beam lanced out of the trees on the opposite side of the clearing and slightly to the left. The laser impacted the dying campfire, the heat from it erupting the still smoldering wood into flames that reached up higher than before with their new found life, before the receded and flickered at the same height as they previously maintained.

That single shot was all Alucard needed. Creeping slowly around the clearing, he made his way clockwise in the direction he knew Jadin to be. He took extra care to make his steps silent. He kept as low as possible, making sure he could not be easily seen. Moving like a shadow he crept around the clearing and behind Jadin, the main oblivious to his hunter's presence.

Slowly, and with as little noise as possible, Alucard unholstered his blaster and held it by the barrel. Then standing up out of the cover, he raised the blaster over his head and brought it crashing down, the blunt hand grip impacting the back of Jadin's head. The man fell unconscious, but alive. He never knew what hit him.

Taking the pair of blasters the man had taken from his two failed hunters, Alucard removed Jadin's shirt and tore it into strips, he used those strips to bind his arms and legs together, and then slinging his unconscious body over his shoulder, he made his way toward the camp.

lewy - April 10, 2007 11:12 PM (GMT)
Resei approached a Mandalorian near the jungle.
He seemed to be concerned of something...

- I'm sorry, Sir, but do you offer hunting trials? Resei asked.

The Mandalorian turned slowly, and stared at the newcomer.

- Yes. As a matter of fact I do. And what's that to you?

- In order to keep myself as fit as I have to be as a bounty hunter, I need to train. And in addition the second in command ordered me to do it. Have any jobs left?

- Well, I do. It seems a frightening monsters from Tatooine or something has managed to get to this planet. We need it stopped so that it won't kill any more unprepared Mandalorians. Will you kill it?

- Be sure I will! Resei equipped his light armor and his light blaster.
Does this creature have any weaknesses I should know about?

- Well.. Yes. It has difficulty discerning two-dimensional images, often attacking shadows. And here is the best part: a well-placed shot can bore right through the weak sinus cavity of the beast and hit the brain, killing it instantly.

- What does it look like?

- Ever seen a Krayt dragon?

- Yes, once Resei shivered with the thought.

- Well, it is like that- just atleast trice as big. Ready to go and get it?

-Yes, Resei said, and shivered with fear as he turned.
Only one thing... How did it get here?

The Mandalorian smiled crockedly.
- It is possible that it can have managed to.. sneak aboard my shuttle last time I was on Tatooine...

Resei nodded. He had no problems figuring out excactly how it had "snuk aboard", and why. This could be a though one.
Just stay out of sight and always cast a shadow. And aim good, he reminded himself.

Then he walked into the jungle, death his only companion...

lewy - April 10, 2007 11:54 PM (GMT)
Resei felt alone as he walked through the jungle. He was well hidden, and tried to always cast a shadow as he snuk forward.
From time to time, he stopped and bent down to examinate the soil.
He had found traces of something huge moving south. And Resei followed patiently.

As he moved closer to the cave he could smell the stench of rotten corpses.
Somewhere he could see Mandalorian blood and bodyparts.
He managed to avoid thinking he could very well end up like one of them.

The cave was as tall as Resei. Atleast. And dark. Stalactites and stalagmites hung from the roof and grew up from the ground. The cave smelled like the death of thousand men.
From the inside he could hear snoring.
A huge animals snoring.
Damn, he thought, I'll never get a clear shot in this darknes.
He had to get the beast out of there somehow!

When he had waited through the whole night he finally got rewarded for his patience. The snoring stopped, and he could hear something big moving inside the cave. Something was walking out!

Aiming with his light blaster he waited for the animal to get out.
He saw the head. But then he wondered. Such a small head? Then he realised what it was. Or what it wasn't. That animal was no Krayt dragon... It was something Resei didn't know the name of.
The sound of it had ecoed so it sounded bigger.
Only an amature would be fooled. And Resei had been...
But were was the Krayt dragon then?
The traces had ended here, so it had to be there somewhere!

In the same moment he realised were the Krayt dragon was, the stalactites and the stalagmites crunched togheter, crushing the smaller beast. There was no cave. It was the Krayt dragon...

Bugger, he thought. This would be tricky! If only the dragon hadn't seen him!

In one short moment the dragon looked directly at him. Then it roared.
The sound filled the air, shaking the earth. It rose, and lowered it's head. That was the moment Resei had waited for. All vicious beasts first rose and then lowered its head before charging at the prey.
Resei knew this very well, and as the beast performed its rituals, Resei got free sight to the "weak sinus cavity of the beast".
And Resei didn't hesitate a moment. He aimed as his life would depend on a great shot.
And it actually did. He pulled the trigger- not so hard and rapidly that he would pull the weapon in another direction- but just as hard and rapidly as needed to fire a coulpe of times excactly were you aimed, unless the aim was malfunctioning. And The beast got it. Right were it hurted.
5 perfect hits in the moment before it started charging...
The last roar it ever let out, Resei was likely necer to forget.
It contained such pride, such might, such pain!
It was a beautiful last roar. And it made Resei feel realy proud...

- Tired of the mission already? a cheerful Mandalorian replied as Resei returned covered in soil.

- No, I just need transport for the huge corpse, Resei answered dryly.

The Mandalorian stood frozen for a moment, looking stupid.

- Is it true? You did it? Well... That was.. unexpected, he manage to whisper.
Eeeh... He pulled himself togheter.
Good work. I will take care of the transport myself. You may want to go and get yourself some more training...

Resei nodded, and as he left for the training area he heard the Mandalorian starting to walk in to the joungle to get out the beast.
Or perhaps only to see for himself that Resei had actuallt done what he'd said...

He smiled. What a wonderful day!

Taves Sarfell - June 26, 2007 11:41 PM (GMT)
Taves set into the jungle knowing full well that he was not alone in hunting the fugitive. Hopefully I can throw a few novices off and get this guy to myself. Looking into himself he brought to mind the mandalorian trainer who had castigated him earlier that day.

Taves felt the tingling sensation of his appearance changing. He looked into a nearby pool seeing that his reflection matched that of the trainer. He then began running through the forest looking for the fugitive. He stopped short when he saw a group of trainees who obviously on the prowl for the same man. He walked forward into the clearing they were in. They all froze at his approach. "What are you trainees doing here? The fugitive has been apprehended and taken back."

The trainees looked around in dismay and confusion and walked off.
"Now" said Taves once they were out of earshot "to track down that lowlife scum."

Looking at the ground Taves saw the boot prints of what apparently wasn't any trainee. He followed the prints through the forest to what looked like a body slumped against a tree. He walked up to the tree and saw a trainee with a blast wound to his left leg. Taves shook him out of his sluggish state and asked him what had happened. "I was... Tracking the fugitive and tried to take him down, but he saw me and hit me in the leg." Taves took a tracking device from his armor and turned it on. "Wait here for help" and with that he set off deeper into the forest. He stopped when he saw a human male in tattered clothes drinking from a river.

Taves prepared to take a shot when he noticed that it was a trainee he had seen earlier that day. He ran up and inquired as to why he didn't have his armor. The trainee answered that he had been knocked unconcious and his armor had been taken. At that instant Taves realized that the man slumped on the tree was the fugitive and the trainees he had sent away must have shot him. Without wasting anymore time he followed the tracker back to the tree. Where a team was already extracting the fugitive. A trainer walked up to him and handed him his beacon. "Nice job" he said "we're in your debt not only did you stop this fugitive but you kept him from escaping with our armor.?

Taves smiled "No problem" he said.

Taves Sarfell - June 30, 2007 10:20 PM (GMT)
Taves was apprehensive about this mission. Fett had called him a man of great capacity, so he knew that this mission was not going to be a walk in the park. Heck, he knew that when he heard that he was going to hunt three prisoners at once. Fett had said that he wanted proof of the kills, so Taves knew that there had to be something about these prisoners that distinguished them. As he walked through the forests he saw something that sent a cold chill down his spine. There were three sets of tracks in the forest. Taves could also tell by the sight of them what they were, Wookies. "Wookies" Taves said to himself. "As if it isn't screwed up enough to send a man after three well armed prisoners, but he had to send out some of the biggest creatures that walked on two legs that were just measured in feet."

"This mission isn't going to be a close quarters one" thought Taves picturing the Wookies tearing off his arms if he were to try it. Taves set off thinking of how he was going to subdue these almost seven foot behemoths. Fortunately because this was a training mission he had brought a blaster rifle along with him. Even so not many people were experienced enough at this stage to take on that big of a challenge. He continued to follow the trail the wookies clumsily left through the forest. He scaled some large cliffs up to a mountain stream. Even before he reached it he could hear the Wookies conversing in their native tongue. He stealthily made his way up to near the river. Knowing that Wookies had good senses he kept his distance and stayed downwind of his foes.

There by the stream were three fully grown Wookies. They were all armed with bowcasters. Taves hope that he would finish this mission was slowly fading. He tried to analyze his enemies. The one in the middle seemed to know where he was going. Where that was Taves had no idea. "Man for man these things could rip me apart" Taves thought. Then the idea struck him. His chances of taking down three Wookies at this point were slim to none, but if he were able to separate them he might be able to pick them off one by one. Taves had a feeling that the lead Wookie wasn't going to let himself die when he had two others he could send out first. The Wookies probably think they can kill anything on this planet alone too.

Taves picked up a rock and threw it into the brush, which made an unnatural clamor. The lead Wookie looked up. Taves could tell he was taking the bait. He sent out one of the other Wookies. Taves pulled out his blaster rifle and prepared to fire when the Wookie got close enough. He hoped that the blaster wouldn't make too much noise. Perched atop a tree he waited for the Wookie to draw closer. As it was making it's final steps into the clearing Taves was in it must have found Taves scent. It yelled to its other companions. Taves knew it was now or never. He pulled the trigger, letting loose a bolt that planted itself right into the Wookie's head. The great creature fell to the ground and was no more.

Taves could hear the other Wookies running to the clearing. He dropped from the tree and took cover. As the Wookies entered the clearing Taves knew that it was time to throw caution to the wind. He fired two blaster bolts. The first hit one Wookie in the head while the other merely hit the lead Wookie's bowcaster. As the Wookie charged at Taves he discarded his rifle knowing that it would no longer help him. He took out his Gaderffii, and prepared to meet the wookie head on.

The Wookie ran toward him throwing a blow for Taves' head. Taves rolled just in time to dodge it and tried to strike the Wookie's leg. It was like hitting steel. The Wookie turned and picked up Taves, throwing him into a nearby tree. Taves exhaled hard from the impact and looked up his Gaderffii was too far away to reach. As the Wookie turned to charge again Taves remembered his blaster pistol. He quickly drew it and began firing wildly at the Wookie. At first it looked like the Wookie would reach him, but after the third bolt hit its chest it fell to the ground, motionless. Taves couldn't believe it he had just killed three Wookies. As he reached each body he cut off their thick braids of hair and gathered his weapons before returning to camp.

lewy - June 30, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
Resei left the woods just after Taves.
e had watched, not being watched himself.
Yes, he was sneaky enough.
He was also proud of Taves.
3 blasted Wookiees!
He smiled.
He was not doing bad as an instructor, it seemed at last...

KayenXStorm - July 2, 2007 01:31 AM (GMT)
Kayen spent about an hour preparing himself for the hunt before moving into the forests. He had recharged his blaster's power packs and used the additional time to research the Boma. Looking at the information on the computer screen, he sighed to himself.

"Ugly beasts... should be interesting..."

Finally, he was ready to go hunting. Kayen gathered his weapons and power cells and then he made his way out of the camp. He had also taken a pair of electronic binoculars from the camp and attached them to his belt. He crossed the bridge out of the Bounty Hunter Camp and looked around the dense tangle of trees and underbrush.

After walking for a long time, Kayen's legs were burning and he was already several kilometers away from the camp. He had started to develop a limp in his right leg, but he pressed on.

Continuing his long walk through the thick forests, Kayen suddenly heard a shrill cry. He recognized it as a Cannok. A small, frog like creature, often fed on by Boma. Both species had been brought to Mandalore from the moon of Dxun, probably for use as hunting trophies. Kayen quickly drew his DL-18 Blaster and started towards the noise, nearly tripping over a large root in the process.

His intuition paid off when Kayen emerged from the bushes to find a large Boma, approximately one and a half meters tall. It was standing over a Cannok, eating it. Kayen sighed and crept towards the back of the gigantic creature. Suddenly the green, reptilian looking nightmare of a beast spun around and opened its enormous mouth with a loud, threatening scream.

Kayen lifted his blaster and fired once over the head of the Boma as it charged him. Kayen turned around quickly and scurried up the trunk of a huge tree, but the Boma stood on its hind legs and its front claws latched onto Kayen's ankle, drawing blood. Kayen screamed and wrapped his left arm around the huge branch of the tree and started to fire downward with his right. Three blaster bolts connected with the head of the Boma and it screamed out, before collapsing to the ground.

Kayen fell from the tree and landed next to the dead creature, slowly standing up to his feet. He pulled a dagger and quickly cut off the tusks of the beast, before limping back towards camp.

Taves Sarfell - July 18, 2007 05:59 PM (GMT)
Taves walked on to the training fields. He hadn't been here in a while, but until he could return to missions this was the only place he could practice his skills. As he did some long ranged blaster training he saw a trainer approaching him. The trainer bowed, which was an unexpected gesture toward Taves. He returned the bow, and noticed a trainee standing by the trainer's side. "Taves Sarfell?" asked the trainer. Taves nodded. "It has been noted that you have not yet taken on a mission that involved cooperation with another. This trainee needs help, so you will take him on a training mission in the jungle." Taves was disappointed. The reason he had never taken on a mission with another bounty hunter was because in his mind he didn't need it. He stared at the trainee. He appeared to be humanoid. "What's your name kid?" asked Taves. "Rolin Sothrik." Taves was surprised. He had known a Clawdite named Jorin Sothrik back on Coruscant. "You any relation to Jorin Sothrik?" "He was my father" replied the trainee. "Mhm" said Taves. He turned to the instructor. "Do you have anything set up?" "Yes" replied the trainer "just a simple four Womprats." Taves chuckled, he rembered his first hunt when he killed a Womprat with a Vibroblade. "Alright" said Taves "but kid, we're only packing one holdout blaster each and a Vibroblade." Taves saw the incredilous look Rolin gave him. "I know, I would rather go with just the blades but it'll be two to one" said Taves sarcastically. He and Rolin set out into the forest looking for the womprats. It wasn't long until Taves picked up the tracks. As he and Rolin walked deeper into the forest Rolin spoke. "You knew my father?" he asked. Taves knew this was going to come up. "I knew him for a while. He worked in the bar I was a bouncer in. I would say you look jut like him but since you're a Clawdite you could look like anyone you fancy." After this comment there was a long silence. "So" continued Taves "why..." as he spoke he felt a great object hit him in the back. He grabbed it and threw it off him only to see that it was a Womprat. He looked up and saw three more roosting in the trees. "Follow me" he said. He led Rolin into a clearing of trees and turned around to see that the Womprats were pursuing them. He was really getting tired of raving mad ones that didn't realize that they were meant for the ground instead of trees. He pulled out his holdout blaster and shot it right between the eyes. Rolin did the same to another. Taves brandished his Vibroblade, ready for the other. It leaped at him. He dodged to the side and caught it in the mouth. The beast howled in pain and began to run away. Taves aimed carefully and threw his blade deep into the beast's side. He grabbed his blade and turned to see that Rolin was wrestling with the last one. Taves saw that Rolins blade was a ways off. "Catch" he said, tossing his blade to Rolin. Rolin caught the blade and plunged it into the Womprats throat, killing it instantly. Taves walked over to him and offered him a hand. They both collected their weapons and walked back toward camp. "As I was saying" said Taves "why did you become a bounty hunter." Rolin laughed, then answered "It wasn't so much for the money as it was for making a name for myself." Taves smiled, he was beginning to like this kid.

lewy - July 20, 2007 12:23 AM (GMT)
Resei walked sneakily through the jungle.
He had gotten a recruit into the jungle to find him.
Half the time he had been planting tracks, and the other half he had been sneaking after therecruit to see if he found the tracks.
The recruit had found almost evey so far.
Resei was very happy with that.
He had on forehand told the recruit what to look for.
stamped grass, broken twigs, bent leaves/gras and so forth.
He studied the recruit from behind, he had now stopped at one of the last tracks, a single thread from Resei's clothing hanging on a tree.
The recruit had just a minute previously been in a short struggle with a Boma kid. He had shot it after it had almost bit his leg, and then he had fled and hid, barely avoiding the mother.
The mother had sniffed the air, and watched and sniffed in Resei's direction.
It had in the end brought the kid to another place, and the recruit had continued.
HOWEVER, he had not understood that the mother had revealed Resei's position behind him.
He had mistaken it as animal stupidity, or that the mother had a bad nose.

Now the recruit had gotten to the finish line.
A cross in the ground.
He stood watching it, not certain what to do.
Then Resei activated the jetpack, and the sound had made the recruit turn.
Then, however, Resei had been in the air, and not seen.
The recruit readied his blaster, and then Resei landed behind him, and put a hand on his shoulder.
The recruit jumped, and shook in fright.

"Not bad. You found 87 of the in total 100 tracks. However, when that Boma watched in the wrong direction, she was watching me, and I was following you from behind. You should perhaps have understood that not planned clue. But I did not tell you about such things. Now you know anyway! I'll see you back in the camp," he said, and activated his jetpack again, and flew to the camp, smiling.
That recruit had learnt a good lesson of tracking that would stick with him for life.
And Resei had prooven his own skills to himself.
A good day, with both sparring in 'the ring', and hunting in the jungle.

lewy - July 21, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
Resei and the recruit met the Mandalorian at the terminal.
"Hey! Got a Zakkeg for me?"
"A what!? Are you insane!? A Zakkeg!? On your own!?"
"No, I'm not that stupid. I'm bringing this recruit."
"I thought you said not stupid? It's gonna slay you! Know what? I'll come with you, you'll need it. If we succeed, we will get great much honor, and the recruit will probably get promoted. If not..."
"Never tell me the odds! Let's go then, companions!"
With that the three merry comrades went into the jungle, heading for glory, or certain death...

They knew they were getting closer when they found the first, rotten Boma-corpses. The Mandalorian had know the usual whereabouts of the Zakkeg, to the recruit's, but not Resei's, surprize.
They encountered fresher and fresher corpses, and the recruit grew paler and paler, until they found some corpses Resei estimated to be only a few hours old, and they had to stop because the recruit almost fainted.
Resei took the opportunity to plan.
"Now," he whispered "this beats are extremely though, I don't know what our blasters can do with them. They say it has a hide so thick it might as well be durasteel plating. We have to focus on one point, preferably the chest or throath region, and direct all our shots there.
We will move seperately.
We must continue moving, so it will not get us.
I shoot first, then you fire at will.
Got it? Good. Comrades- we march! To glory!"
Then they crept seperated towards the Zakkeg, manouvring between corpses, towards the faint roaring...

When resei first saw the beast, he was filled with awe.
He was facing an even greater predator than himself, and he decided only one of them should survive the day.
The thought didn't fill him with fear, but rather with courage and determination.
Then he aimed, and took his shot...
The beast had exposed it's chest, and resei had hit it.
It roared more in anger than in pain, and charged at Resei.
However, Resei had ran away, hidden in the tall grass, in the moment he had shot.
Then hell brok loose.
The three comrades started running in the tall grass, circling around the beast, shooting at its chest at every possible and not possible occation.
Whenever one of them was about to be killed by the Zakkeg, it was disturbed by one of the others, and he who had faced death a second ago could go free.
When Resei got a glance of the recruit's face, he thought it seemed like he had wanted to stay back in the safe camp.
But that was not a subject up for discussion now!
However, the recruit was doing good.
If the managed this one, Resei would personally promote the guy!

As the face-to-face with the Zakkeg happened more and more often, and it did not seem to notice the shots, Resei started to doubt the whole thing. The animal was surely immortal, if three hunters could not bring it down in what had to be fourty minutes!
But then he noticed something.
The armour on the chest was cracking! And.. There! A few shots later a piece of it fell off, finally, and exposed the soft parts.
Resei forgot himself, and with renewed hope and powers, he shouted:
"It's cracking! It's cracking!"
The Zakkeg charged after the voice, and there was no escape.
Now it is only you and me, Resei thought as he pulled his blaster and the flamethrower up.

Wit both of the weapons he fired furiously at the Zakkeg.
When i got closer, he fired up his jetpack, but instead of escaping upwards, he started flying backwards, laying horizontally in the air, still fireing at the cracked spot in it's armour.
Not until after it was over he realised how pro it had seemed for the others. First luring it to follow him, and then take it down. He had no intentions of telling the little less glorious truth.
After flying and shooting in what seemed an eternity, but in reality was only 20 seconds, the Zakkeg was finally slowing down.
It then stopped completely, falling over, roaring its last roar.
Resei stopped the jetpack, and walked over to it, and soon after the others followed.
They stood there for a while, watching it in awe.
It was a miracle they were all three still standing.

"How shall we get it back?"
"We could carry it abowe us, pretending to be it and scare the other animals away."
Resei interrupted them.
"The animal will smell it, and the trap will do us no good, standing beneath a heavy thing like that not managing to grab our weapons when the Bomas come. I will call for a carrying team and a medicial team. We all need to rest now."
They all agreed, and not half an hour later they was sleeping in the medicial quarters, rumors running through the camp, and the Zakkeg standing in the middle of the camp for all to admire it.
In the medquarters Moirine sat and hol Resei's hand through the whole night, patting his head, praising the God in which she believed that she had been bought by Resei and not anybody else.

Resei entered the jungle without his armour, only the rough clothes and his holdout-blaster.
Everytime he entered the jungle, he thought, a dead silence fell on everything.
Finding the tracks where difficoult.
This one was skilled, armed, and soon to be killed, he thought and grinned.
He found the tracks after a while, however. A broken leaf, carefully placed to seem unbroken.
Really skilled.

Resei followed more tracks, and after a while it got easier, as he learned what tracks the man laid out, and how he desguised them.
Off course he had made tracks, as by killing Resei he would be free, and he needed to encounter Resei to kill him.
Finally Resei's predator instincts told him he was getting closer...
But this time he was not sure who was the predator, and who was the pray...

Knowing this was a test in stealth (OOC: Atleast I know after Taves told me lol), Resei knew from his instincts this was where he should bend of and take another route towards the target, as to not be discovered by the predicted route at least.
After sneaking, almost crawling on the ground a decent way from the track-road (as he called it), he stopped to think.
This man could probably sense Resei's presence very easily.
What could Resei do to avoid that?
...Many presences... Or... Yes! Why not... I could play the pray... Lure him out for me.. Then kill him when he least expect it... If he just... Yes!
Resei had a plan...

Falloney Crusthel was tired. She was being hunted by some kind of Bounty Hunter, in a jungle he probably knew better than she did.
If she killed him she would be free, they said. If not...
Her best chance her was her senses.
She had to sense him before he could get close.
She knew she could, she was good at sensing.
That was what had brought her into this stupid position!
Then she sensed something. She smiled. The plan was going as supposed. She snuk towards the presence, to hunt...

Resei smiled. He knew, whitout actually knowing, that the Force-sensitive was coming for him. And he hoped that he would outsmart him.
He started to walk.

Something was odd with the presence.
It was turning, and for the last minutes it had walked in circles around her, getting closer and closer. She had followed, but by now she was getting tired of this goose-chase.
But she had to wait, and follow the hunter.
Then she was close. she got eager, and moved a bit faster, clinging to her blaster.

Too late she realised something was wrong.
She should have seen the man now?
That was when she realsied she had been tricked.
And how she had been tricked.
How clever! If she were to die, she had nothing against doing it in such a brilliant, claver way.

"You outsmarted me, Bounty Hunter," she said, and looked up in her own face, seeing no fright, only a last exhausted smile.

Resei had walked in circles for a while, and felt it was time.
He climbed up i the nearest tree, and kept crawling from tree to tree in circles. The brenches strecthed out long, and at several points they touched each others, making climbing from tree to tree easier.
Still he had to be silent, and he used all his stealth to avoid detection.
Then it happened. The force-sensitive stood right beneath him, and even though he was supposedly good at sensing prescenses, Resei's stealth and clevernes had put him to the point where death was certain.
He smiled. Say goodbye...

As he silently lowered down, hanging in the branches by his feets, a soft, feminine voice spoke.

"You outsmarted me, Bounty Hunter".

The force-sensitive looked up into his visor, seeing a reflection of herself in the moment before death.
She was pretty, Resei thought. Very pretty, and about 20 of age.
Boba Fett had made him believe it was a boy to make things harder for him. It was always difficoult to kill a girl, and especially when you were unprepared of it being a girl.
However, Resei was a predator, and he was about to kill...

"Resei Mantok, hunney," he whispered, and shot.

He hit the girl in her back, and from the close range the blast went straight through her, coming out from her belly.
Resei jumped down, quickly, and capture the girl before she fell.
Even though she had just been shot through by a Holdout-Blaster she managed to say some last words.

"Falloney Crusthel accept defeat, Resei Mantok."

Then Resei did something not even he would have expected.
Bending slightly down, opening his visor, he placed his lips on hers and kissed her. Her lips were soft, and Resei, actually shocked by what he did, still felt it was good.
Then she died in his arms, and he carried her gently through the Jungle, to Boba Fett's quarters.
