Title: Rainforest survival

If you can fight your way through the countless creates that reside here then you will be fortunate in finding the belongings of those not so fortunate before you. There are many hidden and unknown treasures to be found here........ But at a mortal price

What on earth had that recruit been doing in this godforsaken place?
Resei cursed and muttered his way through the heavy, dark and cold underbush.
He knew any animal with it's head could hear him, the bushes made little room for silence.
Then he thought he saw something in the forest further ahead.
He crouched.
It was a big animal.
He had to be careful!
He crept on the ground, hoping to pass besides the animal...
When he was to the right of it, he could clearly see what was happening.
The animl was outside a cave, seeming to play cat and mouse with a poor man.
He struggled, which seemed to have amused the animal enough to let him live for so long.
Resei didn't know the animal for what it was, a Runyip, but he recognized the armor the man wore!
Light Mandalorian Armor!
The thypical recruit-armor, which he had possessed himself not long ago.
He steadied himself.
He had to save him quickly!

The animal got confused when Resei suddenly burst out of the jungle.
He activated his jetpack, and manouvered with just a little bit of trouble, ending up just above and out of reach for the animal.
He then shot it in it's neck, killing it instantly.
Unfortunately for Resei ("Cursed luck!") another animal heard the shot, and a large, flying... thing, know by others than himself as a Whisper Bird, rather than a cursed flying thing,
came flying towards him.
The recruit was perhaps saved for now, but what about himself?
He managed to stay calm, and instead of using the blaster which would take too long, he activated the flamethrower in the armour...
The bird got fried...

"You are a bounty hunter recruit, I presume?" Resei said as he landed.
He smiled behind the dark visor as he realised how pro he must have looked.
The recruit only managed to nod.
Resei nodded in approval, before checking the area.
Safe for now.
Then he saw a backpack next to a half-eaten corpse.
He smiled.
Fortune is turning...

Resei was quite happy at the way back together with the recruit.
Not only had he halfways finished the mission, he had also found a Holdout Blaster in the backpack!
But off course it was not over yet.
The strange sounds had stirred the fauna of the planet...
A large rodent, a Stintaril (Resei actually knew this one from what he had heard once from a drunken... costumer of his mother at Coruscant), jumped from one of the trees.
In less than a split second Resei, who had been constantly at his guard, reacted.
He had decided he did not want to use his blaster: too much sound.
Neither the flamethrower: he did not want to burn down the whole jungle! That wouold reveal his position to anybody dangerous!
Plus it would add a new danger to an already more than dangerous enough journey.
Neither would he use a short range meele weapon: he had none, and anyway it would have been too dangerous to face a whatever with a short knife in his hand!
In other words, he had decided to use the net that came with the armor.
And in the already mentioned split-second, he pressed the button.
A net sprung from his arm, capturing the 'poor' Stintaril.

"Run!" he shouted at the recruit, breaking into a run himself for the last about 300 metres.

It was with great joy they discovered they were out of the jungle, already eyeing the hangers in the distance.

Ray was screaming with joy as he shot through the trees and animals. He had such an adrenaline rush and he loved it.

"This beats the heck out of gunning down Rebels!” Ray shouted as he darted through the jungle.

When he barely missed a low limb he got the message, he slowed down and started cruising. Then a big beast up ahead noticed him to early for Ray's liking. The thing reached up to grab at the low flying craft. Ray grinned and pulled the trigger for the laser cannons. CLICK!

"Oh no... maaaan" Ray sighed.

He was out of ammo and he might be to close to maneuver away so he just made a 180 and went up. He looked back and stuck his tongue out at the monster of an animal. He kept going up and up and even more up. He was now as high as he could go without being short on oxygen. He leveled out and looked around. An old temple, jungle, a cave rising above the tree line, and a tower were visible. Ray thought a moment. I'll visit them all later but first the cave. He went off and landed on an elevated mound so that no little beasties could get it. He walked into the mammoth of a cave and looked around. It was surprisingly light but he couldn't figure out why. Then he noticed it wasn't a cave but instead it was an entrance to a tunnel! He smiled and ran back to his ship. He got in and shot down into the tunnel which was also light but still he couldn't figure out why. After a few seconds he noticed the lights though. Running all along the tunnel were little lights that gave enough light to see around.

"I didn't know that Yavin had anyone on it," He laughed, "Just makes my life easier!"

He went on down until he found the perfect place to relax. He landed, found some wood and big leaves from small, tropical trees in the tunnel and made a tiny room sized tent. He made a building around the Missing Hope and wondered why he went to such great lengths to protect it. He ignored his own question and laid down in the tent and went to sleep.

RayCaptain - October 9, 2007 11:40 PM (GMT)
Ray awoke with a great yawn and he stretched out. Never before had he slept so well. He lifted up the big leaf he'd used as a sort of door on the structure and looked around. He couldn't tell what time it was because the lights on the walls kept it the same all day round. He guessed it was early morning though...somewhere around 5:30 am. His stomach growled and he knew he hadn't eaten in quite a while, three days to be exact. Why the heck didn't I get food on Bespin?! He looked in Missing Hope for something but all he found was crumbs so he put on his clone armor, attached the vibroblade, and loaded his pistol. He was never able to hunt anywhere before but he figured if he just ran down a small animal it'd be a quick snack. Before he left though he wanted to add a little something to Missing Hope to make it a little more tolerable he picked up some of the dirt and dust and wet it with some water and painted the Imperial symbol on it.

"It still looks pathetic!" He said while rolling his eyes.

He got in his ship and blasted off out of the tunnel. He hadn't gone long before he noticed a group of humans running down below and even though it shocked him he figured others were doing the same as him. Then he thought, What am I doing here? Am I relaxing? No...am I trying to have an adventure? No...am I trying to get away from something or someone or- His thought were interrupted by a noise. A noise he knew to well.

"ROCKETS!!!” He said aloud.

He looked to his side and there they were. About 4 rockets heading right at him. He dived down to escape them and did so successfully.

"What was that for?!" Ray screamed into the jungle.

He pulled back on the joystick and went up again. He half expected another orund of rockets attack him but nothing came from the dense void of the jungle. He slowed to a near halt and landed in a good hunting spot. It was a low tree with branches streaming out as if a giant cup; a cup big enough to hold him and the ship. He got out and waited.

Time passed and it passed and it passed but all he heard were the noises of distant grunts and roars. He was getting bored and it seemed as if hours had passed. Ray finally clambered out of the tree and decided to go foot to search for berries or fruits. He marked his trail by slicing the trees with a big X symbol. He went on and on until he came upon a nest. The nest had eggs!!! He grinned and was congratulating himself for his wits when out of nowhere a big force hit him in the back. He went about 7 yards forward and when he caught his breath he looked back and saw a massive bird standing there.

"Come on you got like six! Can I just have one?"

Ray moaned and got up. He extended his vibrosword and was ready to fight but so was the bird...or bird[B]s[/S]. He heard a squawk from behind but this time dodged the giant head butt of the animal. He leapt on its back and hit in the back of its head with his vibroblade. It fell instantly to the ground but this enraged the other bird and it charged him. Ray jumped but the bird was either smart or lucky because it raised its head and caught Ray square in the chest. He heard a sickening crunch as his ribs broke and he smashed into a tree. This time his breath didn't come back. His lung had been punctured by a broken rib. He gasped for air but all he could do was cough up blood. He guessed the bird would charge and he was right. It picked up a full head of steam and smashed right into the extended vibroblade Ray held up at the last seconded but this came at a price to Ray. The force had crushed his wrist. He writhed in pain and cussed into the jungle. He could probably be heard miles away as he screamed and spat blood. Then something odd happened, his body stopped hurting as much it only tingled and his crushed wrist lay flat on the ground. Ray drew another breath and his eyes slowly closed.

He whispered a few more words into the air, "Another life to the jungles...of the great...Yavin 4,"

His eyes closed all the way and he felt as if he were floating in mid air. He was in a great white nothingness. Was he dead? Ha! Right...he couldn't die he was invincible...Wasn't he? Or...or was he just another human being in the great galaxy of the universe? He went back to his thoughts before the rocket attack. Again why was he here? He racked his brain. He racked it with places, names, and ideas. All had part of it but all of it went back to one person...the person he hunted...the person he'd wanted to defeat for so long...Kalin Skywalker. He caught himself just in time the great light and whiteness was going black.

"I...won't...die...not now...I WON'T DIE!"

He opened his eyes and ushered away some sort of vulture. He crawled all the way back to the tree he'd landed on. He struggled up the tree and into the Missing Hope. Their was a first aid kit and he injected a serum to ease the pain. He took off and went back into the tunnel and then into his wooden tent and grabbed his advanced first aid kit. He injected more numbing serum around the wound and pulled a laser scalpel and cut started an operation on himself to med his bones and lungs.

RayCaptain - October 12, 2007 12:10 AM (GMT)
After many hours of novice operation and biting down on a piece of wood it was all over. He threaded the last stitch and groaned as he put the laser scalpel, needle, thread, and syringe back in his med box.

"Wow...that sucked...a lot," He smiled a covering smile, "But it was worth it!"

He picked up his stuff and loaded is ship. He still hadn't eaten and now he was going to see if the eggs and birds were still there. He cruised out of the tunnel and flew low. Rockets ain't gonna get me this time. He arrived at the same spot where his life had passed before his eyes and landed. He scared off a few small scavengers and picked up two eggs, the others had already been got to, and one of the birds on Missing Hope. After getting air born he noticed the temple again. His curiosity went crazy and he couldn't imagine who'd be in it but then again it might be better than the tunnel. He ignored his want for adventure after his wound started throbbing. He'd not had a starle environment at all so he wondered if it'd get infected.

"Better find a doc...Ha ha,” He was now wondering if he did need a doctor.

Ray could tough it out; he'd be fine. He got back to the tunnel and unloaded his stuff. Before he could cook Ray had to get off the ground so some scum of the jungle couldn't find his nice meal and do Ray in. Ray sighed and tore down his tent then loaded everything onto his ship. Ray's mouth dropped as he realized something.

"The symbol!"

He ran to Missing Hope's wing and looked under it. There it was plane as day. The Imperial symbol!

"No wonder I got shot at...Not all people are very fond of our dear Emperor," He busted out laughing.

The Emperor...Would Ray ever meet him? Would he ever see this deformed man face-to-face? What if he did? What would Ray do? Bow down and say what an honor it was or would he spit in his face and rebuke him? A thought for a later time...Right now he needed to get to the temple or some other structure. Ray set out and searched around. There was that temple he mentioned. There was a big towering structure where the entire half of Yavin 4 could be seen. There was also a broken bridge to which nothing could sneak up on him. What did Ray want though? A place where people might be, a site of the entire terrain or a strategic position...The tower will do. Ray zoomed off.
