We had to use Mac's for college work
and i have Windows at home
They both have their pros and cons
But Mac's arnt a green pasture
I wouldnt expect a miracle and no future issues!
though it depends what you intend to use it for.

I use the computer mostly for school work and other media, just as making videos, audios, and also for extracurricular material (such as bandwars).
I tend to always run into problems, unnecessary download and update, shutting down improperly, and about three times this thing has crash on me.

Do you mean that you think that's all I do on my laptop? Well not really I just gave you the "Parental Advisory" version of what I do.

Mac all the way! I'm beyond sick of Windows so the next computer I get will most definitely be an iMac. My PC is due an upgrade anyway...

Stability is key when deciding so keep that in mind. Apple do tend to be slower on the software updates than Microsoft do - but the other side to that is the Apple ones are what is known as "system-dependant" so all their updates are read only data meaning they are actually type-program safe.
Windows ( or should I say MS ) bring out a new OS every few years, they cannot simply update the old version - where as with the mac as the program is different its simpler to modify.
So I would say yeah go for mac - but be wary of its limitations - Windows as an interface can do more but the mac is generally more stable.

Macs are mostly used in work now especially in the art field. People expect you to know macs which is quite scary as there are alot of people who have never touched a mac. I'm not really fussed if I have a windows or mac tbh. I'm pretty okay on macs in gerenal though. :)
