Title: An Important Personal Message From Heidi and Jade
Robert - October 16, 2009 09:23 AM (GMT)
Unfortunately, Amelle has been forced to take an unexpected short break away from the pressures of work, following some professional medical advice earlier this week. It seems that with all the recent events in the band right up to Jade joining us a few weeks ago, the stress over a period of months has unfortunately taken its toll on Amelle and she is now suffering from a severe bout of nervous exhaustion.
For the next 3 weeks, Amelle will be staying at a private health clinic in Europe where she will be able to rest and recuperate under expert supervision. We’re expecting her to return to work in full health by the beginning of November.
Heidi: “Both Amelle and I have been through a very traumatic time together in recent months and particularly over the past few weeks. Having the opportunity to move forward with Jade was a major factor in us both deciding to carry on as Sugababes. And judging from the thousands of well wishes we have received from you, our fans, we are delighted that we made the right decision. However, the months leading up to that decision certainly took their toll, especially on Amelle, and it seems like
it’s now all caught up with her.¯
Jade: “We’ve got a hectic schedule of promotional commitments ahead of us to launch our next single on 9th Nov and the album on 23rd Nov. We’re about to go into the run up to Christmas, so we’re glad that Amelle is getting the right support now to help her return to work at such a busy time.¯
Unfortunately, this means that our fans expecting to see our debut live performance at Leeds this Sunday for Aire FM will be disappointed by the band not being able to perform. However, we will still be coming up to meet our Leeds fans and send on your well wishes to Amelle. We’re also sad to be missing out on a TV show that we were due to perform in Germany this Saturday but our label are trying to re-book this for November.
Although we know this news all comes as a huge disappointment to Sugababes fans, we really do have to treat Amelle’s welfare as our priority at times like this. She has the love and support of everyone around her including family, friends, bandmates and the label and we’re sure our fans will join us in wishing her a speedy recovery.
Lotsa luv,
Heidi & Jade
xx

I can't believe it... Especially the thing with the German TV show :(
Anyways get well soon Amelle.

That is a lovely message from both Heidi and Jade and much more persomal than a message from the management. I hope Amelle gets well soon and I wish her a speedy recovery.
The amount of stress they have been under these recent weeks too probably has not helped, so I think it is good she has a break now and takes time to sort things out.
It is a shame about the promo but for now as it said their health has to take centre stage and rightly so - she has alot of support around her and I am sure she will be back in a few weeks feeling stronger.
rmssw - October 16, 2009 10:44 AM (GMT)
I'm sorry and maybe I'm entirely too cynical, but does this scream "REHAB" to anyone else?
Whatever the issue, she needs to get better soon because the more they cancel appearances, the more bad press they're going to get and they really can't afford any right now.
Robert - October 16, 2009 10:45 AM (GMT)
This campaign is truly a disaster. I know these things are unavoidable, but it just seems that everything is against them. The video/single is a disaster (way too rushed), Jade has an entire album to re-record, the promotion has been ridiculous (and it'll get worse now that Amelle won't be there to support the girls) and now we're a member down.
Murder1 - October 16, 2009 10:50 AM (GMT)
i hope no ones going to be nasty about amelle over this.. i'm not surprised shes going through a nervous breakdown with everything thats happened and especially the way people heckled her with threats online and all the crap shes put up with over the last few months to make her feel depressed. i say get the help she needs and then start work properly in november. it means low promotion but i'd rather see three healthy happy girls give their best than two girls trying and one girl not with it emotionally.
get well soon amelle!
mitsuhoney - October 16, 2009 12:06 PM (GMT)
I really hope she will get better! :angel
LittleSugababe - October 16, 2009 12:25 PM (GMT)
Mupmup just shut it. Ive had enough.
Anyways, I think it's nice that this time 'round, we get a msg from Heidi & Jade instead of an impersonal "statement" from management!
Shame theyre a member down now. I was looking forward to their live performance, 'cos I think seeing them perform together as a trio will confirm my feelings if I like Jade or not (in the band I mean, I do like her as a solo artist).
Wonder if the album will be pushed back :(
Rachel_Stevens - October 16, 2009 01:49 PM (GMT)
hope amelle feels better soon. hopefully when she's back she'll be better then ever
BostonJames. - October 16, 2009 02:07 PM (GMT)

itainteasy - October 16, 2009 02:45 PM (GMT)
yes this sounds like rehab
this is horrible for leeds fans cos now theyve been let down twice once from the whole party in the park date now this. glad i wasnt plannin on goin. i understand her health comes first but for fans being majorly dissappointed twice cant b good
i dont understand are they still going to promo the single and album for the stated dates? thats madeness they should just put the whole thing off until everything calms down then again a 3 week break at this point is pretty nice of them least she aint goin awol least they are talking things out this time

can we all stop making personal attacks on here?

sugaste - October 16, 2009 04:09 PM (GMT)
Glad she's getting the right care, hope she gets well soon.
Emelle - October 16, 2009 04:44 PM (GMT)
Hope Amelle Gets Better Very Soon!
It's So Nice Of Heidi And Jade To Let Us All Know How It's Going :D

This whole era is ridiculous to be honest, people are obviously gonna be more interested in the in group fighting that the album and it will be overshadowed by all of this.
It's beyond a joke now.
Edit - Oh No They Didn't!s views on the subject
http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/40175106.html just because they are funny to read.
W2K - October 16, 2009 07:36 PM (GMT)
Poor girl, all this stuff has really taken it's toll on her. I'm glad she's taking some time out to get better. She'd be no use right now if she's anything like I was when I was diagnosed with something similar.
thisismethen - October 17, 2009 02:43 AM (GMT)
this is crazy so much drama
AmelleLover26m - October 17, 2009 07:52 AM (GMT)
Nice to seen Sun are in full support of Amelle's well-being...
A source close said: "She may think about hanging up her boots the Sugababes has not been a happy time for her..." then going on to say 'sparking fears the group may split'.
I mean WTF how about showing some support and wishing her well instead of over-exagering saying things are going to get worse?
Total b***** <_<

From today's Daily Star, didn't think it warranted a new thread:

Please credit me if reposting the scan. Sorry it's a bit squashed, my scanner's not very big :P

Thank you for uploading! x
I really hope that Amelle gets well. She doesn't deserve this.
rmssw - October 17, 2009 05:48 PM (GMT)
It's sad that we know now that we won't be seeing or hearing anything for at least three weeks. This era will be known most for the amount of waiting we've had to do.

You are right but hopefully all this waiting will lead to more anticipation.
Keisha Beats Me - October 17, 2009 11:50 PM (GMT)
Waiting will lead to more embarassing moments from the Sugababes. I can't really call myself a fan anymore and I was one of their biggest fans. I know it almost sounds mean but I really don't care about Amelle anymore (and she used to my favourite) but I can't really have any sympathy for her when she should have known the consequences of kicking out the original member. If she lacks the intelligence (and let's face it, she has nothing on Keisha's industry knowledge) and foresight then she has herself to blame, and seemingly has ruined her career and the Sugababes, then that's all her fault. I think maybe I will just call her Yoko Ono from now on.
LittleSugababe - October 18, 2009 04:08 AM (GMT)
I completely agree with everything u said!!! About amelle having herself to blame, Keisha having more knowledge abt the industry, amelle also being my ex-favorite..
AmelleLover26m - October 18, 2009 09:02 AM (GMT)
I was pondering all this new stuff for a bit last night while kicking my modem for freezing all night and what probably worries me and maybe other people the most about all this is the fact of what is going to hapen now.
Yes we know she has three weeks to get better but then again what if she needs longer or gets worse and decides now is the right time to quit. It sounds mean but the fact is when a person has a breakdown how they come out of it does not always end in roses.
I really wish her love and support and hope she can pull through this and of course she has the love and support of family and friends around her and fans, but where it all ends up is anyone's guess.
This era has been a bit of a nighmare as we know and it just seems like one thing is happening after the other right now and they never seem to be having any luck, promo is omn hold for weeks as we know until she gets her strengh back and I do hope we get a lot of it but not too much as they will have to ease it back in.
Basically all I am saying is I am a tad nervous about the future and all I want is the best for the band as we all do but right now everything is constantly hanging in the balance and we can never be sure anthing is for certain.
Robert - October 18, 2009 12:12 PM (GMT)
I've definitely lost a lot of love for the Sugababes. Sweet 7 was meant to be their platform onto greater things and now it's just a complete and utter disaster. I never will agree with the way in which Keisha was removed from the group - although, I won't drag this argument on any longer - but it's evident that things weren't working amongst the girls in V3. It's tragic to see that Amelle isn't coping with the stresses of being a professional, but she's only human at the end of the day, and she has emotions too - just like us. I'll admit that this couldn't possibly have come at a worse time than now, but it'll be sorted in a few weeks, and things will be back to normal by then.
Maybe the best thing to do would be to postpone the album release. Scraping the Top 10 again won't be good enough (considering the funding of the record itself), but without promotion, things are going to be tough. We know the workings of the media, and the current situation will be promotion in itself, but I don't know if that will last until November.
Personally, I believe Heidi and Jade will need to work as a duo until Amelle can return to the band, otherwise the Sweet 7 campaign will be a big flop.
Rich - October 18, 2009 03:58 PM (GMT)
I like that they're reassuring us there is no split, as most people would probably guess so.

100% agree Robert that does sound like a sensible thing for them to do right now.
Unfortunatly the prospect of that actually happening is about as high as Bill Gates appoligising for Windows NT. :D
Seriously though it would be a nice idea and at least we would get some promo out there for the new single and a bit of exposure about the new album ( do some interviews etc ).
