Title: Windows 7 Preview
Description: From my own prospetive

Windows: 7 :
=========

We use the beta ( extended trial ) version of this
at work and let me give you a sneak preview of what it
can do.

1. It is a 64bit sub-sytem

Meaning anything pre-XP will never run unless
you try to use DOS box.

2. It has an intergrated XP compatabiliy.

Probably the best new feature of it - Microsoft seem
to have learnt from their mistake of Vista having practically
no backwards compatability with XP software.

This feature allows you to run almost all XP software on
Windows 7 - which should of been done years ago I think -
and one of the reason's people ( and myself ) resented getting
Windows Vista.

3. Looks stable

Vista was full of little bugs until MS got their act together and
launched the patches - although this is a trial version, Windows 7
does look stable and does have some good protection capabilities.
Microsoft have always prided themsevles on protection and this time
it does look promising.

4 It has a sort and shake file system

Quite a unique feature - this option allows you to virtually
sort your files on the desktop without using the file transector
as with previous versions of Windows. Windows 2000 had somthing
similar but never really took off.

Just a quick intro to what it can do, some features may be added
or removed when the offical version hits stores later this month,
As for now we still use Vista and XP Pro ( love it ).

what does prospetive mean?

This does sound promising, I HATE vista, its awful and always crashes and stuff. Anything better than that would be welcomed!

I've been using the RTM (release to manufacturing) version of Windows 7 for about a month now and I have to say I'm impressed. It's still not a patch on Mac OS X but it's a huge step up from Vista.

The new taskbar is very good, and I like the improved speed. :)

Well I am happy about that. Vista really sucks.
I want a Mac hehe. Too bad that I can't buy one.

Agreed :P

I do like the navigation too - the one we use "still" asks admin permission to do tasks like Vista does dispite being logged in as the admin - That is one feature I would like to see reduced, I can see the security side of it and all but asking me four times each run was a bit OTT
