Mutya defends ex-Sugababes bandmate

Mutya Buena has defended her former Sugababes bandmate Keisha Buchanan, saying she is not a bully.

Keisha was rumoured to have had a bust-up with fellow babe Amelle Berrabah, who missed one of the group's gigs and was even reported missing.

The group deny they've had a row.

Speaking at a charity event for Ndoro Children's Charities in London on Thursday Mutya said: "I would not say Keisha is a bully, I never left because of her."

"I don't think they are breaking up. It's just good publicity."

Mutya left the band in 2005 and was replaced by Amelle.

The trio are due release a new album in November.

Nice to see Mutya supporting Keisha. I know they have their differences, but they'll never forget each other. In all honesty, I do think Keisha forced Siobhan out of the band, but that was when she was much younger and far less mature. I know it's not a proper excuse, but I think the stuff with Amelle really is just total crap.

I'm glad she's coming out and saying that. It's not exactly a ringing endorsement of Keisha or the band, but at least she's stating the truth.

I also think the stories are completely false. We know it's true that Amelle lied about her friend being a car accident and didn't tell the band that she was taking a week off, but I think the tabloids made up the story of them having a fight.

I do believe that Keisha was the reason Siobhan left. I don't think it was necessarily "bullying". I think it was just a case of them all being too young.

I agree it is good to hear support for Keisha. It is also nice to see so many reminding others just how spiteful and cruel the tabloids can be somtimes ( well most of the time actually ).

Everytime somthing tiny happens - they always make a mountan out of a molehill.
