Mutya Buena has revealed she would love to rejoin the Sugababes.

taking Amelle Berrabah's place if she does decide to quit.

Speaking at the Ndoro charity dinner in The Dorchester hotel last night, Mutya told us: “I'd love to do some shows with the Sugababes. As the years have gone by I've settled down a lot.

“Now my little girl's at school I've a lot more time on my hands. If they asked me, I'd definitely do some stuff with them, but it would have to come from them as I'm not sure how it would work with four people on the stage.”

Is this source reliable? Because I cannot believe it...
but if it's the truth it would be so funny if she would join the band again. But i don't think heidi and keisha want her back.

and it would end up that heidis get even shorter while amelle and mutya domain the songs :P

I'd love for Mutya to join the Sugababes again as a one-off. It's so sad things worked out the way they did with Tahlia and stuff, but I suppose it was a blessing too, because we got the wonderful Amelle (my favourite current Sugababe), and Mut released a solo album.

I don't think Mutya's willing to do anything if Amelle's involved though, so it's unlikely it'll ever happen.

My first impression is that this is just another tabloid rumor sparked by the OTHER rumors that Amelle is looking to quit.

If it is true, though, I think it's a good sign, especially since if Amelle DOES leave (even though I think the rumors are false) I think the only way the band could continue would be if Mutya came back.

However, yeah, I don't think Keisha and Heidi would want to take her, at least not under the friendly circumstances the article suggests Mutya is looking for. I think it would have to be some urgent situation like Amelle suddenly leaving the band to make that happen. They've both said that it's been Mutya who has refused to reach out since leaving. But, if nothing else, this could be the start of them mending their relationship.

As for what I would hope for as a fan, I like the line-up they have now. If Amelle left, which I don't think will ever happen, of course Mutya would be my choice for replacement. However, I don't really like the idea of Mutya coming back for shows or anything like that while Amelle is still there. It's messy. Amelle has earned her place in the band and she's just as much a part of those old songs now as Mutya was. The Sugababes are Keisha, Heidi, and Amelle.

as me and my bf both laughed when we imagined that... actually no, I don't :(

It's a wonderful thing if she really comes back someday,
however its quite strange if she singing About You Now, even Get Sexy
and her ex-bandmates must reject her return in the band.

But Mutya is really nice that she didnt bite back her 'lovely' ex-bandmate at this moment,
if it happens to Keisha, she must say something bad, blah blah blah :keisha:

It wouldn't be any stranger than Amelle singing the old songs when she first joined. We all got used to her on Hole In The Head, Push The Button...etc...

We'd get used to hearing Mutya on the Amelle songs, too.

It would certainly be a better situation than having to get used to hearing Jade Ewen singing Mutya AND Amelle's parts...

Well, I really hope that Amelle won't quit the band! I love her too much to let her go away :D
The thought of Mutya joining the band is really interesting. But not if to replace Amelle. I would really like to see Sugababes with four girls)))) This must to be marvelous)))

To the people saying Mutya wouldn't be able to pull of Get Sexy .... :rolleyes:

I don't think Amelle could pull off "Shape", "Freak Like Me", "Hole In The Head", "Too Lost In You", or any other past Sugababes track for that matter. Sure, granted she could sing well, but the songs lacked something without Mutya, because it was Mutya who made those songs special. (Amelle completely took the edge off of Freak if u ask me).

But after half a year, I got used to Amelle. In fact, i LOVE her now. And I was able to accept seeing her perform all those 'Mutya' songs.

I think we should give Mutya the same benefit of the doubt. Though its so unlikely she'll re-join LOL
