Title: 90's Music Thread
Description: Go back 10 years here

I was gonna do this a while ago but I have been tied up in work - anyway, since we all lived through the 1990's, use this thread to talk about any artists from the 90's you used to follow or still do for that matter.

All Saints, Spice Girls, Boyzone, Take That ( first re-incarnation of both ), Gala, Outhere brothers etc etc.

There were a lot around, and the 1990's was a year when Pop was the dominant force of music around the world.

==========================

I loved ( still do ) the All Saints - and it crushed me when they split up - but when they came back a few years back with Studio One it was such a let down, but it did not make me dislike them, I still have all their singles ( some on cassette ) and all their dvd's and albums.

When I started college I even had an All Saints back pack :P

The 90s was all about the R&B and Hip Hop acts for me
Like Run DMC, Salt N Pepa etc etc
Although that was still quite 80s, since they were out then

But i also loved 90s pop ALOT.

I agree with Tommy, especially coming from Canada. Yes, pop was big here but it was never truly a dominant force until the likes of Britney Spears and N*SYNC were all on their second albums.

Rnb & Hip-hop:

Dr. Dre (solo stuff and production)
Blackstreet
Aaliyah
Ginuwine
Janet Jackson
Mariah Carey
En Vogue
TLC
Brandy
Monica
Whitney Houston
Montell Jordon
Prince
Boyz II Men
Toni Braxton
Erykah Badu
Dru Hill
Lauryn Hill
The Fugees
Wu Tang Clan
Brian McKnight
2Pac
Nas
Snoop Dog
Outkast
Nortorius B.I.G.
The Roots
Missy Elliott, Timbaland & Magoo
Jay-Z
702
Mya
Bone Thugz N Harmony
Method Man
Busta Rhymes

Need I say more????????

Backstreet Boys, Britney and Spice Girls re-introduced pop into the charts and sold a crap load. However, the industry was saturated with RnB, hip-hop and grundge (sp?).

I was also really into the Pet Shop Boys too - being born in the 1980's their music was around then - and through the 1990's and even now they are still about.

They have written some suberb songs, a few that have become classics, but for me their best has to be "Red Letter Day" from 1995. Total stormer and I always love listening to it even now.

I do not know how much longer they will be around, but I hope it will be for a good few years yet, they still have a large fan base.
