Judging by the clips this'll be a corker!
Easily one of my most anticipated albums of a very plain musical year
Kelis never disappointments.

It's a step up from the 'Kelis Was Here' era... in both cases.

And they would both fit on one record IMO.

TommyTank. - September 12, 2009 12:22 PM (GMT)
I REALLY enjoyed Kelis Was Here
Her worst album is WANDERLAND for me personally
though it did have a few gems.

Cant wait for this album!

Nooo not by far! :o I LOVE "Daddy" and "Perfect Day" and the rest is pretty great as well. But it's her most alternative sounding record so it might be a bit of a grower.

I still find KALEIDOSCOPE her absolute best record! TASTY is second best, but quite a few meters behind it.

TommyTank. - September 12, 2009 01:12 PM (GMT)
KALEIDOSCOPE is incredible
shes yet to beat it
Then tasty and Kelis Was Here are tied at second for me

Shes insanely underrated.

Taller In More Ways - September 12, 2009 01:32 PM (GMT)
She doesn't quite suffer the Mya syndrome at least.
She's pushing and constantly brings something out.

I wish Mya would finally have the guts to sign a proper record deal.
She was always my #1 in terms of R&B, but since she's gone, Kelis took her place.

Keisha Beats Me - September 12, 2009 01:35 PM (GMT)
I'm happy she's got off her lazy ass to record this.

TommyTank. - September 12, 2009 01:36 PM (GMT)
I never got into MYA
She has a few good songs
Fear Of Flying was of course a great album
I prefer Brandy to be honest.

It's actually the best proper R&B record I own! :D I always get back to "Fear Of Flying".

Brandy's excellent as well, but for some reason I don't listen to her music as much as I listen to Kelis's and Mya's.

TommyTank. - September 12, 2009 01:42 PM (GMT)
I was always into Aaliyah more so.

Taller In More Ways - September 12, 2009 01:44 PM (GMT)
Since 'Try Again' yes but her records before didn't grab me at all. Except the song '4 Page Letter' which was oh so sweet!

TommyTank. - September 12, 2009 01:47 PM (GMT)
Yeah 4 Page letter was ace
My favorite late Aaliyah songs were Try Again
More Than A Woman, We Need A Resolution
and my faves EASILY Don't Know What To Tell Ya
From her first two albums i have far to many favorites
Age Ain't Nothing but a Number was a complete gem

TommyTank. - September 12, 2009 02:18 PM (GMT)
Just found NO SECURITY in HQ
and WOW

chilln_chick2002 - September 12, 2009 11:24 PM (GMT)
Tommy is it on youtube? It sounded immense back in April.

I'm a diehard Kelis supporter and feel that she is going to flop again :'(. She is really getting bad press in America at the moment because of the SOB Nas. Everyone in the urban community is tea bagging him and blaming Kelis for the court ordered child support .

Thanks Tommy but it's okay. I'll wait until someone uploads it on youtube before downloading it, lol. I songs wasting space on my PC.

How does it sound to you?

You can play the file
like you do on Zshare

chilln_chick2002 - September 12, 2009 11:31 PM (GMT)
Tommy ignore my post. :P

It sound more amazing and like you said instant orgasm to the ears.

TommyTank. - September 12, 2009 11:33 PM (GMT)
its an absolutely incredible song
shame that hardly anyone will ever hear it haha

chilln_chick2002 - September 12, 2009 11:35 PM (GMT)
Is it only being released in the UK?

TommyTank. - September 12, 2009 11:39 PM (GMT)
i have no idea to be honest
im not even sure if it is getting released
their wiki page gives nothing away.

chilln_chick2002 - September 12, 2009 11:42 PM (GMT)
Ugh!

I doubt it will be released in America or Canada. I still can't believe that her last hit over in NA was Milkshake.

TommyTank. - September 12, 2009 11:44 PM (GMT)
Yeah last hit here was Milkshake aswell
Shes really quite a flop
which is disgusting.

chilln_chick2002 - September 12, 2009 11:45 PM (GMT)
I think it's a disgrace that Kelis is a flop Queen, but the blood suckers like Beyoyo and the fake Fefe Dobson are successful.

TommyTank. - September 12, 2009 11:47 PM (GMT)
Is Fefe big in Canada?
i don't think she even exists in the UK haha

chilln_chick2002 - September 12, 2009 11:50 PM (GMT)
Yeah, she was but not like Avril. However, Take Me Away and Everything got her recognized in America.

TommyTank. - September 12, 2009 11:53 PM (GMT)
I'm not to familiar with her to be honest.

chilln_chick2002 - September 12, 2009 11:57 PM (GMT)
It's alright. She was signed to Def Jam before Rihanna joined and had the black rock chick. It wasn't a strategic move like Riri because she grew up listening to that type of music.

Rihanna swagger jacked her hard after she was dropped. She even went as far as to get the same tattoo as Fefe. Rihanna, herself admitted to being a fan of hers as well!

TommyTank. - September 13, 2009 12:00 AM (GMT)
Wow
from what iv seen Rihanna pretty much owns her visually though.
So i guess her stylist has done a good job haha!

chilln_chick2002 - September 13, 2009 12:03 AM (GMT)
Agreed, but Fefe was the orginal.

TommyTank. - September 13, 2009 12:04 AM (GMT)
Fair play
I'll have to check her out :D

chilln_chick2002 - September 13, 2009 12:07 AM (GMT)
Back to Kelis, what do you think of Kaleidoscope?

TommyTank. - September 13, 2009 12:08 AM (GMT)
Its her best album, hands down
followed by KWH and Tasty

You?

chilln_chick2002 - September 13, 2009 12:11 AM (GMT)
Tasty, Kaleidoscope and Kelis Was Here.

I don't own Wanderland :'(.

TommyTank. - September 13, 2009 12:19 AM (GMT)
You arnt missing much, don't worry
had a few good tracks though.

FINALLY!!!
A NEW KELIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!

QUOTE
Kelis posted brand new song “Acapella” to her official site today (where you can weigh in with your comments on the song in a Twitter widget). The minimal dance track is produced by knob twiddler du jour, David Guetta.

“I was asked if I would ever put another album out,” Kelis writes on her site. “I suppose people assumed after the baby and divorce and all the time I took off (went to culinary school during my break which was amazing and another conversation) that it would be on to motherhood for me… My album is pretty much done. I signed a new deal and I’m madly in love with life and ready to share something with you.”

And, it turns out, “Acapella” isn’t a bad little tune. In fact, it’s highly reminiscent of Kylie Minogue’s spacey “Light Years,” from her same-titled 2000 album.

Kelis’ 2006 LP Kelis Was Here was a highly underrated—if not slightly all over the place—effort, but she’s always been a tough act to market. Nice to see her getting another shot and branching out even more, musically, after being dropped by Jive.

You can hear it here

I prefer No Security but this is still a brilliant song
Great of her to give us a treat aswell, i wish Christina would.
Lets hope Jimmy iovine can save Kelis!!
