Title: Mutya visits Crawley

Robert - March 7, 2009 09:30 AM (GMT)
Mutya Buena was in town on Thursday night (March 5) to raise money for charity.
Celebrity Big Brother contestant, Mutya, took a trip to High Street night spot The 107 Club to perform Ultra’s funky house track Fallin’ with half the proceeds going to Cancer Research and Poverty in Africa.

There was a star studded bill on the night including MTV News presenter and Kiss FM DJ Rickie Haywood-Williams as well as R’n'B star Kyla who recently released Do You Mind.

Club manager Paul Faili was delighted with the evening which he described as ‘the biggest night so far at the club’.

He said: “It was the maddest night I’ve ever experienced in there. I’ve never experienced anything like it.

“It was huge. Kyla was exceptional and Mutya was very good as well. We are thinking of maybe running something on a Thursday every four to six weeks.”

The ‘Money Bag Family Entertainment’ launch party also featured acts such as Black The Ripper, Artilla, Lante from Suncycle and Steelo and top DJs such as Stormryderz, Voice N Vibes, DJ Curls and radio station Impact FM 87.5.

Hundreds of revellers poured into the club to a glimpse of Rickie, Mutya and Kyla and they were not disappointed as they put on a show stopping performance.

Paul added: “It was such a well organised, professional event and was like nothing I’ve seen before.

“There were some big names here and I think we will have them coming along again.”

The night proved to be so popular that they were even running out of drink.

Paul explained: “We sold out of champagne so I had to get some more.”

The 107 Club are holding Culture Kingdom on Sunday, April 12 which will be playing the very best in funky house and electro all night.
