Heidi Range: "I'm the perfect housewife..."


They're in the business since ten years,....
Probably the most famous and most successful Girlgroup since the Spice Girls.
Last Saturday the Sugababes had a short appearance in the Cult-Show BENISSIMO.
Shortly before the appearance, there was an exclusive interview with Heidi Range.


Hey Heidi, How are you?
I'm very well thank's. I just shiver a bit (laughs)

A few weeks ago, your new single "No Can Do" came to the shops.
What can we expect from the Sugababes in 2009?
This year we will lay our focus on the upcoming album. Becuase of that reason, we won't make a tour this year.
So we will have much more time to be in the studio and work on recording of the new album.
Next year we will have than a very big tour! Of course we planning a concert here in Switzerland aswell! (laughs)

Where do you write your songtexts?
Usually we write them all together in the studio or each for itself. Sometime it depends on the producers,
than we write them in other countries or in London.

Which ambition you follow with your work respectively. wich band or artist inspires you on your work?
I love many diffrent bands, anyway we chase totally different
styles of music and don't really let affect us.
We three all grew up in ambiance of big artists and had the chance to learn from them.
I personally listen to other musicdirections.
It's always a question of my current state of mind to what kind of music I'm listening too.

Did you ever thought about a Solocareer?
I think when the time of Sugababes is over, we all can think about a Soocareer.
But that's not the ambition we chase as Sugababes, than we're a group
and hopefully will have many more beutiful years together.
Who know's what the future brings, anyway today we still chase other ambitions.

This evening you'll perform at BENISSIMO and in two weeks at "Art On Ice".
What do you think about the Swiss audience?
Ohhh they're very nice! I'm already very tingly when I'm thinking about "Art On Ice".
Thereby I'm looking forward to the stadium full of viewers and the very special atmosphere.
A lot of the time we just perform on TV-Shows and not that much live in front of the public,
therefore it's very special for us.
I'm looking forward to see Stéphane Lambiel & Co., when they're skating to our songs.

The cold Wintertime brought us very much snow. Do you like skiing or snowboarding?
I never gave that a try till now. When we for a whole week in February will stay in Switzerland,
I'm sure we have a day off.
Hopefully I will have some time than, to go to the mountains and try that.



How do we have to imagine Heidi Range the person?
I'm a very domestic person, I'm very open.
I love cooking and to do other thing at home, well I'm actually the perfect housewife! (laughs) In my free time, I like to spend time with my family and friends and go thereby often to London.
Now that we have a new year I want to learn skiing. (laughs)

The life as a Superstar is very tight.
It's not possible to go shopping, without being gaped by all the people most of the time?
Oh that's not really a problem.... When the three of us go shopping together,
there's much more attetion and the people recognize us,
tham when I'm alone on my own. Sometimes a few people come to me with their mobilecameras and stuff and ask for a picture. That doesn't bother me, I actually think that's still very sweet.

For what do you spend the most money?
Basically for clothes! My Boyfriend and I bought us a nice house,
therfore I like to spend some money for our home.

Favourite book: A million Pieces - James Frey

Favourite movie: It's A Wonderful LifeI went to watch it, because many people often said, that it's a fantastic movie!
I couldn't stop crying....
It was very meaningful. Such a great movie.

Favourite food: Thai food
I eat Thai every few weeks. I can cook many dishes on my own aswell.

Favourite travel destination: New York
I've been there already tree times and find the city just gigantic!

Favourite city: (Nightlife/Clubbing): London

Favourite fashion label: Chanel
(A short look at her dress....and lo and behold also Chanel)

Favourite TV series: 24
24 Is my absolutely favourite TV series!
