Title: Girls
Sugababes UK - October 16, 2008 10:24 PM (GMT)
01. Girls
Written by: Allen Toussaint, Anna Mcdonald, Nicole Jenkinson, Keisha Buchanan
Produced by: Melvin Kuiters & Si Hulbert
--------
Girls was the first single to be released from Catfights and Spotlights. It entered the charts at #8 and eventually peaked at #3.
The song's chorus is from the song "Here Come The Girls" by Ernie K Doe, which was featured in adverts for UK store Boots.
The video version of the single is the radio edit, which is slightly different from the album version. It features a different intro and Heidi has one extra line at the end of her verse.
The Sugababes have performed this with a live band as well as acoustically. They also performed it at the MOBO Awards 2008.

LYRICS
Here come the girls
Mmm ooh yeah
Oh water, I don't need no lemonade
Chorus
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)
Slipping on my little black dress
Five inch heels I'm bound to impress
Turn it up, I'm a little temptress, ooh, oooh
Monroe's got nothing on me
Read my curves like poetry
Tonight we rule the world beware 'cause here come the girls
Here come the girls
Tonight we rule the world beware 'cause here come the girls
Chorus
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)
Hear the whistle as I walk by
Shine like a crystal all through the night
One look will make a grown man cry, woah, woah
Step aside I got a starring role
Camera, action, here we go
Tonight we rule the world beware 'cause here come the girls
Chrous
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls) (Here comes the girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls) (Girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls) (Ooh)
I'm filled with sexuality
With or without a man I feel complete
Stop speculating, I'm a regular girl
All independent women know
We got the goods to run the show
So let nobody tell you nothin'
You're in control
Chrous
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls) (Here comes the girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls) (Here comes the girls)
Chorus
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls) (Here comes the girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls) (Here comes the girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)
Here come the girls (girls, girls, girls, girls)

Best Lines Of The Song!
But this song is ultimately the WORST song on the album.

Wow, it sounds so different from the Radio Rip I've listened to about two months roughly.

Suga Aloud - October 18, 2008 09:55 AM (GMT)
I prefer the album edit to the radio edit, but anyway this song is amazing all the same, actually glad it was released now.

Nobody´ - October 19, 2008 06:30 PM (GMT)

The Klas Remix of this is FABULOUS!

What I find really interesting is the drum roll just before the chorus is coming up.
Does anyone know if they sampled that?
HeidiLoving - October 21, 2008 07:50 PM (GMT)
Surprisingly, GIRLS is not the worst track on the album

I don't think Girls is bad at all. It's pretty amazing in my opinion, and the verses in the Klass remix are so good.
I was actually thinking the reason Heidi and Amelle aren't credited as writers in the album booklet is possibly because their lyrics didn't get used in the single/album mix, but in the Klas version instead? In one of the interviews they do say that they all re-wrote it, so that could explain it?

The radio edit is better
I just found the album version BORING
Good song though :D
chilln_chick2002 - November 20, 2008 01:25 AM (GMT)
Why, oh why, did they choose to release this as a lead. In my opinion it is definitely one of the worst songs on the album. Especially, when they consider it to be the only electro/dance track on the album.
