Title: Never Gonna Dance Again
Sugababes UK - October 8, 2007 02:30 PM (GMT)
02. Never Gonna Dance Again
Written by: Keisha Buchanan, Heidi Range, Miranda Cooper, Brian Higgins, Tim Powell, Lisa Cowling & Nick Coler.
Porduced by: Brian Higgins/Xenomania
-----
This track was originally worked on during the Taller In More Ways sessions with Mutya but the girls didn't like the finished version and asked for it not to be put on the album. This time around they reworked the track and now love it.

LYRICS
Circles on the floor I'm getting down, low
But things ain't right you're gone and I'm losing ground, no
Do you remember?
When your head was mine
It's all I ever think when it comes to you and I
No I can't feel right
How we couldn't seal the deal
The rhythm kept us going the only thing I feel, oh
Chorus
And so I'm never gonna dance again
I lost the rhythm when you said "it's over"
And as the final record starts to play
I feel the dance floor turning colder
And so I'm never gonna dance again
'Cause all the music in my world is faded
I know it's never gonna be the same
I guess our moves just never made it
From the start, a work of art
A perfect picture painting that I stored in my heart
We weren't so bright
You know we couldn't get it right
Our bodies intertwined
Now I can't get you out of my mind
As we danced you know, our feelings show
You ought to know you got me
As we danced we flowed
My heart exposed
Now I'm alone
You lost me baby
Chorus
And so I'm never gonna dance again
I lost the rhythm when you said "it's over"
And as the final record starts to play
I feel the dance floor turning colder
And so I'm never gonna dance again
'Cause all the music in my world is faded
I know it's never gonna be the same
I guess our moves just never made it
Oh yeah, oh
I'm getting down but the rhythm's all wrong
The record goes around and they're playing our song
I get into the groove but it's giving me pain
There's nothing you can do for me Mr DJ
Chorus
And so I'm never gonna dance again
I lost the rhythm when you said "it's over"
And as the final record starts to play
I feel the dance floor turning colder
And so I'm never gonna dance again
'Cause all the music in my world is faded
I know it's never gonna be the same
I guess our moves just never made it
It's over, it's over
And so I'm ever gonna dance again (it's over, it's over)
And so I'm ever gonna dance again (it's over, it's over)
And so I'm ever gonna dance again (it's over, it's over)
And so I'm ever gonna dance again (it's over, it's over)
Never gonan dance again

I think this song is pure perfection.
Amazing in every asepct. I will never get tired of this track. The Lryics are top-notch and I can really see it hitting the top of the charts if the rumors of it becoming their thirds release from the album a reality.
It has an odd type to it, which I love. It makes you want to dance to it and it also makes you want to sit in the corner and have a good cry. When I listen to this song I think back to when I was at school and I remember when I was 12 or 13 we had a dance and nobody would dance with me...
That sort of feeling it gives me when I listen to it. I cannot fault this track in anyway. The end part where Heidi sings "its over,... its over..." brilliant.
5 stars all around.

To me it is nice song. I like it, but nothing more, like it seems to be for everybody else ;]

Lovely song...
amelle is too amazing here
Rich - October 9, 2007 11:42 PM (GMT)
Well, I for one am glad that this song made Change, although it definitely would have fitted in to Taller In More Ways perhaps with a slightly different production.
I think there are better songs that can be released as a single, but if this does get released, I'll be happy, and can see it charting highly!
No.78 - October 10, 2007 08:56 PM (GMT)
According to wikipedia it'll be the 3rd single, so that's good. They chose a good one for a change :)
<3 <3 <3
I look forward to seeing the video... As long as it doesn't follow in about you nows footsteps >_>
AmelleLover26m - October 11, 2007 08:51 AM (GMT)
I was thinking if this really is the third single than the video could be somthing like this:
The babes arrive at dance contest. But, their dance partners do not turn up due to a small fall-out with their partners ( which you see previously ), hence the line "you said its over". As the song goes on, the babes dance and sing the song on the stage but also in different areas of the scence. And at the end of the song, when Heidi sings "its over... its over..." she could be laid on her bed at home looking a photo of the girls winning a previous dance-off with tears in her eyes and the other girls come in and cuddle her...
Yes its a bit mushy but it fits and would work quite well.

Thanks for the views guys.
I didnt expect anyone to really take to it as its just my personal idea of a possible idea for a video. Glad it appeals to some of you, if you have any ideas then by all means post them.
Taller In More Ways - October 12, 2007 02:50 PM (GMT)
One of the very few outstanding songs on the album. It's not THAT amazing though. I've expected a more emotional twist at the end ("It's over") and some more clever structure too. But all in one it's a great SUGABABES song! 9/10
Mr. Ace Reject - October 13, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
For me this is the best track on the new album and I really hope this will be a single. I just love the beat and especially the lyrics. I fell in love with this song after the first time I listened to it.
Never Gonna Dance Again is the Ace Reject of Change :P
AmelleLover26m - October 13, 2007 10:26 PM (GMT)
Im glad so many people like it :P

I love this song.
And Have thought up a music video.
VERSE 1:
It starts of with a close up of amelle singing and then when "Do you rem.." kicks in the camera pulls backwards from amelle revealing her standing on a dancefloor surrounded by people dancing.
CHORUS:
Sugababes dancing alone surrounded by others dancing, The sugababes freeze while dancing with only their lips and eyes moving but as they start dance again their dance movements fade away the dancefloor to an empty room filled with dullness.
VERSE 2:
Glimpes of the the girls are shown dancing with their partners in a photo album keisha is looking at sitting on the dancefloor relflecting with the photos coming to life. The camera angle is shown from a straight on shot from keisha on the floor so you can see peoples legs dancing and moving around as keisha sits alone.
MID
Heidi is the DJ playing as she sings and just as it stops and she stops the record.
As heidi sings "its over"
there is a camera shot looking down at the girls laying on the dancefloor as everyone starts leaving the dancefloor until we see the girls laying there alone on the floor ending with the lights turned off.
AmelleLover26m - October 14, 2007 01:17 PM (GMT)
I like that idea. Well thought up.

Thanks to my mobile phone software I have made this my ringtone
jeje - January 26, 2008 02:34 AM (GMT)
not soundin stuipd
wouldnt mutya have writing credit even through she left the group even through they re-recorded it?
but i love it :D
thisismethen - January 29, 2008 03:46 AM (GMT)
That's not a stupid question, I wondered the same thing. But maybe the part Mutya wrote wasn't used? Maybe she had a verse that was rewritten (Yknow how they say they each write their own part seperately)
kal1ch - January 29, 2008 08:25 AM (GMT)
Yep they replaced Mutya's part. (which according to PJ is better :P) I SO wanna hear that!!!!!
AmelleLover26m - January 29, 2008 09:49 AM (GMT)
Unless your extreemly fortunate you never will. I remember a while back people looking all over the net for it. Some things I guess are never meant to be heard. :(

Coz it will be better! Haha dont mind me.
I've really gotten back into this song.
It is my myspace song now.
sugamel - January 30, 2008 03:18 AM (GMT)
so this song actually were written during the TIMW era?
so there is an original version with Mutya?
please leak!
AmelleLover26m - January 30, 2008 07:36 AM (GMT)
Never Gonnna Dance Again was written for the TIMW album but was never placed on the final cut.
When Change was in pre-production, Xenormania re-worked it with the babes and they loved it so it was put onto the new album.
Getting hold of the Mutya version is like gold dust.
kal1ch - January 30, 2008 11:41 AM (GMT)
Would be pretty easy if you work at the right place :P

Maybe for the latest album of Sugababes that they make an 5 cd box with all the songs and also who are not released! (I know it will not released but it is a dream haha!) :P
AmelleLover26m - February 3, 2008 07:08 AM (GMT)
I agree making a cd with all unreleased tracks is a good idea, like the B-side album we all talked about a while back. There are always some songs that are written that never make an album so it would be good to hear them eventually.
ILuvAmelle - February 3, 2008 10:24 AM (GMT)
I always thought they could do a live album with a selection from each album of songs they did not release.
That and a tour DVD would be amazing.
Oh and the tour DvD having exclusive music videos that they have shot for the fans that could be included on the dvd.

Yeah, but some said that the new b-side was Underwater for the Denial single, is this just fake or is the song recorded?!
krajol - February 3, 2008 11:23 AM (GMT)
I'm quite sure it is fake.
AmelleLover26m - February 3, 2008 05:02 PM (GMT)
Nothing has been offically confirmed that is the b-side to denial.
As with all the other singles, many rumors appear about what it could be. I am 99% sure the b-side for Denial is "Hey There Dehlila" as posted in the Denial Single thread.
IF NGDA is ever released, then of course the b-side to that could be very interesting.
In Denial - April 12, 2008 11:54 PM (GMT)
Everytime I Listen to NGDA. I always wiggle my hips like the girls do on the tour. Especially at Keishas part where she sings 'as we dance you know our feelings show' and they all do this hip thing, i cant help but do it aswell lol
*edit* BTW my username is 'In Denial'. I don't know why its still saying 'ILuvAmelle'
AmelleLover26m - April 13, 2008 06:28 AM (GMT)
Thats a bug with the forum code. Its happened to a few other members who have changed their forum names. It selttles down to the changed version once the catche has cleared.
Keisha4Ever - April 13, 2008 07:48 AM (GMT)
If they do release this song, I wonder if it would get top 10?

I don't think it would. NGDA is my favourite sugababe song eva. But it's a slow song and won't catch that much attention while MLIP will.
AmelleLover26m - April 13, 2008 12:33 PM (GMT)
Id say NGDA is mid-tempo. MLIP is faster I agree. Both tracks are Xenomania and either one would do well.
Suga Aloud - April 15, 2008 11:26 AM (GMT)
Never Gonna Dance Again is amazing. They really brought it to life on tour and would make a very good single choice.
I'd love a stomping remix of this though either way.
