This gig is absolutely wonderful:
http://www.spodtroniclive.com/concertdetail.php?channel=5788Does anybody know how to extract audio from a flash player?
~*!*~:Nicole:~*!*~ - October 1, 2007 04:49 PM (GMT)
I hope someone knows. I want to hear that gig but its not avaiable where I live.
triakel - October 1, 2007 04:51 PM (GMT)
Just Don't Need This sounded good live.
kal1ch - October 1, 2007 05:02 PM (GMT)
I'd extract it but my country isn't in the allowed list :(

Ditto.
Maybe you could just record Maria?
Sugababes UK - October 1, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
Can't get it here either. But at least now I have a record of the setlist from the Angels tour, thanks!
Robert - October 1, 2007 05:27 PM (GMT)
^ And you might hear your favourite song ever live again! :P
AmelleLover26m - October 1, 2007 05:29 PM (GMT)
The problem is, flash player uses flv files. These were built to run with WIndows 98. So, the software that could extract it, if it did exist, would use a system 16 function protocol. Anything above Windows 98 would not run the software as the commands are too old.
Which is a shame. Mult-Windows functions or backward compatability as its known is somthing Microsoft seriously need to introduce.
triakel - October 1, 2007 05:41 PM (GMT)
I have tried and tried and tried... but I can't extract anything, no file whatsoever. Argh, I really want this gig!

Another reason is that the strands of code ( or the audio/imagry ) are protected. If whatever software you are using is unable to do it, the code is encrypted to prevent you from doing it at all. It is to prevent software piracey.
Sugababes UK - October 1, 2007 06:13 PM (GMT)
To get the sound you need a simple program that will record the sound directly from your soundcard.
The downside is you have to play everything in full, and make sure no other sounds are played e.g. msn messenger sounds while you are recording.
You can use Audacity or other free programs found on download.com

triakel - October 1, 2007 06:14 PM (GMT)
Damn it.
But am I the only one who can listen to it?

If you have Firefox, look for an add-on called Firebug. When enabled it lists a direct url to all the content in a webpage, you'll just have to look for a file big enough to be the audio/with an mp3/flv extension etc and right click > copy link & open in a new window to download.
If it's a stream, you need WM Recorder.

:) Isn't it Just Don't Need This, or am I wrong?
And can't you just use Audacity Maria? That should work.

It still doesn't work.
And Firebug? How do I use that?
Purple Monkey - October 1, 2007 07:50 PM (GMT)
Check your browser cache, for firefox you'll need to try rename the files first, or use a hex editor to find out what the headers are. I don't think firebug can get URLs that are in swf files, I tend to have to use a packet sniffer on them.
flv files can be played in VLC, and the Riva FLV encoder works on XP so you can always use that to convert them.
Hyller - October 2, 2007 09:52 PM (GMT)
wooow they're trying to put Portugal on that list so yeaah!
Rezinka - October 3, 2007 06:55 AM (GMT)

Robert - October 3, 2007 08:38 AM (GMT)
I don't think we're gonna get this audio... :(
AmelleLover26m - October 3, 2007 08:44 AM (GMT)
Maria have you tried emailing the makers of the software you are using?
They created it so they may be of some good assistance.
Robert - October 3, 2007 08:55 AM (GMT)
^ :P
Excuse me, could you tell me how to rip the audio from your software so I can share it with all my Sugafriends on Sugababes UK please?
AmelleLover26m - October 3, 2007 08:57 AM (GMT)
woops i forgot about that...
Well i hope there is a way.. cause id love to hear the audio
Purple Monkey - October 3, 2007 10:56 AM (GMT)
triakel did you have to register to hear it? I managed to get past the country bit, but it wants me to register a paid account (I'm using a German proxy). If not what country are you in?
triakel - October 3, 2007 01:37 PM (GMT)
Yes, I had to register, but it's free for 7 days, so I have to find out a way to save this fantastic gig before I have to pay. I'm in Sweden btw.
AmelleLover26m - October 3, 2007 02:06 PM (GMT)
This is a guess, but somtimes features are removed from a "free" or "trial" version of somthing to enable or encourage you to buy the full version.
Perhaps the bye version would enable the feature you desire.
kal1ch - October 3, 2007 03:36 PM (GMT)
How odd... it made me pay right away :o
Can't you just do the sound card recording with Audacity?
triakel - October 8, 2007 11:31 AM (GMT)
I have tried and tried, but somehow I just can't seem to record it. God damn, this gig is just awesome. But sorry guys, it just won't work. Please tell me one of you is having better luck with this.
cryctall - May 19, 2008 06:23 PM (GMT)

More or less than error means the site has been removed. When you click on a webpage. your browser requests permission to use it, and if it cannot get a reply it throws that error.
The older the site or page, the less chance there is of it being avaliable.

OK, now it wants login and password. When I click
cancel it says

Thats a Unix port. If you are using Windows Internet Explorer it wont work cause Windows API doesnt understand the Unix OS commands.
triakel - September 1, 2008 05:11 PM (GMT)
I think we're just going to have to realise that we're never gonna get our hands on this gig. Which is such a shame, since it was simply fantastic, and if the site would have been up today, I would have known how to rip it properly.
