I linked my flower section - my home page is a mess

WiseAcre Gardens

Basically I describe my site this way:

An unusual site planted by a Blooming Looneytic

visit and you'll see why

Your home page crashed 2 browsers. What I saw of it was fun, though.

I enjoyed your alert button.

[dohtml]<blockquote>
<FORM>
<!-- This script and many more are available free online at -->
<!-- The JavaScript Source!! http://javascript.internet.com -->
<INPUT TYPE="button" style="background-color: rgb(0, 51, 0); color: white;" VALUE="Click here to be alerted"
onClick='alert("There. You have been alerted.")'>
</FORM>
</blockquote>[/dohtml]

Not sure why I can't get it to work.

Sometimes I get carried away with scripts and embeding sound :(

I just reworked the home page last night. If your browser crashes again I suspect it might be the Daffy floating link at he top. I don't know what else it could be. If so then I need to remove that too. I've been debating on removing it anyway - it causes the page to load slowly.

I've redone over 100 pages lately and know I've messed up stuff. What works off line doesn't always work live and I just haven't got to checking every page. Extended find and replace can be a very dangerous tool. :rolleyes:

BTW: I added some Greatful Dead Avatars to the site - if you want to grab them to use here - help yourself. Same goes for the Looney Tunes ones too. you'll find the link somewhere down the menu bar on the home page. I've yet to update the menu on other pages - waiting until I get all my sections done.

The alert button works when I place it in the specific spot for java scripts.... But then the button shows up at the top of the forum.

I mostly avoid using these "freebies". This site needs to keep a tight focus on plants. The other stuff makes pages load slowly & affects google placement....

I couldn't get your "don't click here" link to work yesterday. I have a "don't click here" link too... on the bottom of this page.

I can't get your page to load this morning. Worse, it's crashing my browsers.

You might want to remove the goodies....

thanks for the heads up

I removed the floating "daffy" link and the embeded sound file set to play on loading. Hope that does it.

If you don't mind checking these pages:

Falling snow

fallin Bugs Bunny

I removed a bunch of cool flash buttons i made on the tunes page - they just made the page load way too slow.

As you can see I lost focus on the plants but my visitors seem to like it. over 45% of new visitors bookmark the site. In the past they just moved on.

LOL your "alert" button is great. I'm still laughing. Don't know why mine doesn't work for you and after what you said I'm not real sure any of the odds and ends I've put up does for visitors. Just because they work for me doesn't mean I should assume they work for others. Especially these days with all kinds of "security blockers" on people's browsers. It's a shame the web has become home to commericalism, scammers and hackers. It's one of the reasons I'd drifted away.
Do a search these days and all that seems to come up is "buy here"

Those pages load, but Marvin the martian crashed my browser. I didn't try any of the rest.

I liked your pepe le pew winter scene...

Your alert works fine, it's the forum that's making it difficult to add.

Marvin crashed!

odd the only thing there is animated .gifs and an embeded wav. file set to play on auto.

Kind of makes me think it's the auto sound files crashing your browser.
Now in a slight panic wondering how many it's happening to.
Bummer

forums are weird - not surprised the alert button doesn't work on it.
