Hello everyone,
I'm new here and am hoping that someone can help me.
I will moving in a few weeks and want to uproot by daylillies and replant them at the new location. I am moving from MA to NH, so the climate will be the same.
What I need to now is how to store them during the winter months?
Should I replant them immediately?
Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Dawn
Hello Dawn,
Thanks for posting....
What's the soil like? How close to being frozen is it? There's supposed to be some optimum time before it freezes when we stop planting, as the freeze-thaw cycle pushes stuff out of the soil after we've planted.....
I'd go ahead and plant them. It's possible that you could store them like parsnips or carrots, but those things do much better left in the ground than stored in the root cellar, and I'd expect the same from daylilies.
