I've Got IT!!! Sponge bullets!!!

If you put an air compreser behind a gravity fed magazine of Sponge bullets it could be auto
:P :P

Uh...I believe wetmonkey442 was talking about this several months ago, and Ben and others had the concept long before that even. The problem is that the air will dry out the sponges (and the sponges won't hold or release much water anyway), but I'm thinking about a similar design that uses small water balloons. It'll use tested technology and water balloons are far more potent in terms of soaking ability--at least, I think so.

I'm with silentguy on that one....I've been thinking about ways to do this for a while, and I keep thinking to myself, "if only there were smaller water balloons..."

But the problem remains of the cartridges; that is, whether to use sabots or not. I was thinking of loading about 10 old film roll containers with water balloons and putting them in a magazine, but that would be messy and a huge pain. I'm thinking that if a balloon is only filled to about 1-1.5 inches, then with a ton of lubrication, it can possibly be jammed into a barrel and create a seal for firing. Of course, there are a lot of problems to overcome, such as making sure the seal is secured as soon as the balloon gets pushed in from the magazine.

I believe I talked a little about this in a thread somewhere, perhaps at SSC, but I just need to track that thread down. If this is possible, then in a video I'll prove that if you fire only at 30 degrees and use a regulator to change the pressure and range, then getting hit at any distance won't hurt at all. Things like that severely limit the potential of these weapons.

I know I was adding to what wetmonkey42 said but the film can is a good idea. mabey I could use the magzine to feed water ballons into a W.B.L!!!

That would be possible, you would just have to make something that could hold pringles cans, and you could make a Douchenator, and mod the barrel somehow to make it reload after it gets shot.

That would be simple--just look at any Nerf homemade, which I would probably base a design off of. The magazine feeds the rounds through a hole in the barrel using springs, and then they simply get pushed into the moving air--that's what would happen with my design at least. I'm thinking about how to get the sabots ejected--it would be great if they popped out right at my feet as opposed to 50 feet away.

Also, a longer barrel is better for all intents and purposes. That way, there is less time when nothing is in the barrel during automatic fire and when the air would just be wasted--and the performance would be better. A semi-auto system with some type of special plunger-like valve would be far more efficient, but it couldn't do full-auto unless you added more complexity and got the timings right.

my evil idea works and my neibors pised but it wocks Muhahahahahahhahahahahhahah
:ph43r:

That's great! Could you elaborate on the design, features, performance, etc? I personally would love to see some pictures.
