Title: Cleaning it up
DX - April 10, 2006 02:16 AM (GMT)
Sorry, I can only multi-moderate so quickly...I have the IP address, I'm going to make sure that this little F*cker loses his internet service faster than you can say "durka durka."
jiggawhat - April 10, 2006 02:23 AM (GMT)
hahaha, to F*cking bad me and the other person used proxies to spam the place, just like I'm using one now. Do you really think I would be stupid enough to spam the place without a proxy? F*cking retard.
DX - April 10, 2006 02:30 AM (GMT)
F*ck you for making me have to suspend all new registrations. And you know what? Proxies can't mask all personal data, enough can be traced that I can take legal action against you.
And SM does plan on pressing charges. The porn pics/links can warrant jail time, and I'll be there, throwing a huge party outside the court room. And don't think hiding behind a proxy will save your ass. I'm not stopping and SM is not giving up until either you're behind bars or other damage can be inflicted upon you and your household if you have one yet [in a perfectly legal manner though].
You only made one mistake tonight, and that was really pissing off Duxburian. You don't do that. Everyone knows not to piss off Duxburian, because Duxburian does not stop, does not forgive and does not forget [in instances such as this]. I can't speak my mind here because the US does not believe in total free speech, so I'll wrap up with this:
It's not over, and you have no idea what you just got yourself into. This is way bigger than just retaliating with spam on your site. This is bigger than just getting your internet service shut down. You made it personal. Congratulations. :ph43r:

One word: PWNED! Good for you Dux, sticking up for yourself. I hope you get that guy for what he did. Lol, your sig currently says "Duxburian Rocks". Definetly true right now. :P Can you make it say whatever you want?
DX - April 10, 2006 03:26 AM (GMT)
It randomly changes every 30 seconds to random phrases.
I saved all the spam topics, deleted the individual posts in other topics however since it wouldn't have been worth the effort to split the topics and then move the single post-topics out. The comments regarding anthrax, bombs, etc. alone are good enough for jail sentences, especially in today's post 9-11 world, and then you factor in the porn links and images.
I actually don't know all that much about the personal information proxy servers can leak, so any help would be appreciated. You're all invited to the courthouse party though. We could even have a water war.

I wish I knew more about proxy servers, but I really don't. Check this stuff out though, I'm sure it will help a little. B)
EDIT: doh, I forgot the link.

Can't help you there... Google some stuff up or find some hacking community to help you. ;)

Heh, right now it says "You don't want Duxburian as your enemy." :P
I think you handled this well. Oh, and you said

Is that still active? It would be a shame to stop any new members from coming who might be good. Anyway, let's hope we have no more of this anytime soon. B)

I think it's a better idea to keep new registrations suspended until the Administration gets the spammers arrested/severely pwned/whatever. That just makes sure they won't come back.
Some Guy - April 11, 2006 02:30 AM (GMT)
I don't much of anything about proxies either. I think that I know a few people at my school would know a good deal about this stuff though, I'll try and contact them soon.

I think that that article said something that's good for us. To the best of my understanding it says that a proxy can (and likely does) track everything that you do on the server. Down to every last keystroke.
DX - April 24, 2006 05:06 PM (GMT)
After this second and most likely unrelated/partially related attack, registration is closed again. I will re-open it later, but now to join requires admin preview. The spammer's IP address has been logged and I will trace it later, regardless of whether it is static, dynamic, or proxy. And I will get back to my efforts to get all of the spammer's internet services terminated. :ph43r:
Don't you find it ironic that I am currently viewing the forum via a proxy?
wetmonkey442 - April 25, 2006 12:19 AM (GMT)
I leave for a few weeks, and...
Seriously, what would this forum do without the monkey around?
All I can say is: lay down the F*cking law duxburian
lay it down :ph43r:

Hoo-ah! Don't F*ck with the best...

What I find funny is that 12.180.196.125 keeps coming back, even with the knowledge that I am launching a personal crusade against him. After weeks of searching, I finally found a function which can log personal data from proxy servers. Teh spammah[s] won't even notice when the function becomes part of the forum. :ph43r:
EDIT: This is a shot at my_balls_are_wet: I know the state you live in, the county, the town, the exact location of your school. I even know that you can't be older than 14, and could only be the legal age of this forum if you are in 8th grade, depending on how Boyne City Middle School makes its grade cuts. I have contacted both your school and your school's ISP, seeing as you have definately broken at least one Federal Law, and I'm researching whether you broke another. Yes, on the Federal level, in fact, I can't use state laws against you because your actions crossed state lines! Also, since my uncle is an attorney, if the laws provide criminal penalties, I could take legal action against you for free! Isn't that nice! :)

Well, it's good to know he spammer(s) will be taken care of. But wasn't there more than one?

That's pretty cool. Should stop the spammers in their tracks! But couldn't you use that against some of the members here at the forums? I don't want my privacy invaded, and I don't even use a proxy.
Weird why the guy keeps coming back. Maybe he likes soakers? :P
DX - April 29, 2006 05:07 PM (GMT)
The function can be set to log only targeted proxy IPs, via manual selection. I will just type in the spammers' IPs , sit back, and wait. It can only log proxy addresses anyway, and probably has some bugs or something [it is a BETA version].
