Title: Wood Trigger Replacement

NiborDude - March 20, 2006 11:40 PM (GMT)
I had enough with my 2700 trigger. So I crafted a new one out of wood. So far its worked out ok. I need to figure out just how to keep it in place so that it aligns correctly. Once its all fixed it should work like new.

Wouldn't the wood get water logged and stop working? Or did you compensate for the wood's expansion? A wooden trigger valve would be cool though, it seems like it would work much more like a stock one than a ball valve.

Also could you make one for a homemade, then we might finally be able to operate them with a trigger.

Um, trigger, not trigger valve. A wooden trigger vlave would probably expload. I was talking about replacing my snapped trigger and replaced it with one made of wood.

IMO, you should just whip out e Dremel, cut a piece of off of a sheet of metal, and work it into the shape you want. I would much rather have a metal trigger than a wooden one that would probably end up needing to be replaced in the future (wood doesn't hold up well against water over long periods of time).

Unfortunately I don't have spare pieces of metal lying around my room. I would agree that metal would be better for replacement, but I'm desparate at this point. We need all the working guns we can get for the season opener.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up, I must have been thinking valve because the 2700 valve is generally considered weak.

One trigger replacement that I did uses a ring of pvc as a trigger, rather than the stock one (I did this on a gun with the notorious CPS 4100 mkII trigger which snapped).
