Title: How Old Art Thou?

DX - January 11, 2005 02:20 AM (GMT)
This is a study to see what age group most of the forum members fall into. I know that on SSC most members tend to be younger, while on ISCF more members are older.

I'm 16, will be 17 in November.

NiborDude - January 11, 2005 09:20 PM (GMT)
16 - 17 in October. I'm old...

Monsoon - January 11, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
I'm 15. I guess I could be in the lower "older" category?

Commander_Gaunt - January 12, 2005 06:47 PM (GMT)
14

wetmonkey442 - January 12, 2005 06:52 PM (GMT)
Hmm...This is interesting. We have a slightly older age average here than anywhere else. Of course we have less members, but I wonder why we don't have at least one newb yet. This is good. As for my age, I woudl prefer to keep it a secret for now.

DX - January 13, 2005 03:25 AM (GMT)
LOL, I think I already know it, along with knowledge of other "hidden ages" like Doom's. :P In fact, Isoaker and Spinner are the only ones who I really have no idea how old they are. I'm not suprised that our age average is older because it's not that easy to find the site and usually the older dedicated members find places like this. Then again there are plenty of exceptions, but while the site is new, I don't expect many noobs. This coming Summer may be different though.

wetmonkey442 - January 13, 2005 11:35 AM (GMT)
If you think you know it, what is it? :P

NiborDude - January 13, 2005 09:01 PM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure your 14 or 15. Something around those lines.

wetmonkey442 - January 13, 2005 09:17 PM (GMT)
Bingo. But I'm no n00b. I've been in this since...may 2003. Thats when I joined the first WWN. I was online since fall or winter 2002. B) I hope no n00b dares cross the threshhold of Soaker Media! HAHAHAHA! :P j/k

NiborDude - January 13, 2005 10:24 PM (GMT)
Victory is mine!

I think once summer comes, we'll be getting some ubnoxious and stupid n00bs. So enjoy the forums now!

Commander_Gaunt - January 13, 2005 10:41 PM (GMT)
I'm kind of noobish about homemades, but I do try...really.

Monsoon - January 14, 2005 03:10 AM (GMT)
I get kind of n00bish when it comes to tech. I still have no idea what all the internal parts are called, excluding the obvious parts like the PCs and the check valve. Also, if you read my oldest posts on SSC, I was very n00bish in the way I posted. If I were to post like that now, I'd probably get kicked out of SSC :P

DX - January 14, 2005 03:16 AM (GMT)
LOL, I was only a n00b at SSC for like 2 weeks, and that was mainly on tech related things. I had very few n00bish posts. Anyway, I'm sorta glad to see that the majority here is older. Makes the discussions much more intelligent. B)

wetmonkey442 - January 14, 2005 03:31 PM (GMT)
We should delete the n00bs as the come in. :P Actually, we probably won't get nearly as many n00bs as iSoaker and SSC because they are much bigger sites. At least I hope not.

I resent that! I am the youngest really active person here and I would like to think I am intelligent! IQ 186, same as Bill Clinton B)

DX - January 14, 2005 11:46 PM (GMT)
Well, sorry, but I didn't exactly mean it that way. I mean during the summer, on SSC loads of younger n00bs [I'm talking 7, 8, 9 years old] were making topics praising Liquidators and other crappy guns. And they knew nothing about tech or good organized wars. Here it is different. And you are an exception to the belief that torrents of pre-pre-teens=less intelligent discussions. In that post I was talking about lots of them, not just a few. Lots of them is bad, but a few are smarter than the average n00b and can contribute to a discussion just as well as the vets. B)

NiborDude - January 15, 2005 04:13 AM (GMT)
I use to be a n00b. I still am a n00b at heart. I think treating n00bs like people do is kind of stupid. I mean, we're all n00bs at some point in time. We really ought to be nicer. Unless of course they're bad mouthing us. Thats when I ban your ass! Bwahahaha! :P

Commander_Gaunt - January 15, 2005 09:48 AM (GMT)
Ya, treating n00bs like human beings is nice, but if they follow forum guidelines what can you do? Anyway, I'm sure a lot of older player would be more annoyed if a new person came in an gave them advice on stuff (even if they new what they were talking about) than if someone came on and asked really n00bish questions.

DX - January 16, 2005 10:15 PM (GMT)
It is interesting that 14 is our youngest age. The lowest on SSC was like 6. Then again we only have 12 members, of which 5 voted in this poll, and I know which 5 obviously. :P

funny, and I always thought IQ was the kind of thing you keep to yourself. I'm 14, and I certainly do not consider myself a n00b. I've been at this since late summer '03, and I would like to think I know what I'm doing.

wetmonkey442 - March 3, 2005 09:01 PM (GMT)
Actually, I didn't vote in this poll, so not all the active members have voted. *looks around* I wonder who ELSE could have voted......
