Title: "Magic Show"

DX - March 4, 2006 11:37 PM (GMT)
A friend is going to light himself on fire later tonight, along with some other not as notable things. About 30 of us are going to watch/film.

I hope the /film means /post on the internet for us to watch, too. ;)

Good luck to him. Hope he survives the night ;)

Ask him to brake stuff on his head too, like florescent lights, those are crowd pleasers. :P

It worked, although barely. The wind was so strong that it took a while to get a fire going. And once he was able to get his back on fire, it only lasted for about a minute. 2 minutes after we left, the Cops came and those who were still on the field ran away.

Did he attempt to protect himself from permanent injury in anyway? Becuase I'm picturing a guy with his back to the fire waiting for it to burn. Did he have time for anything besides fire?

He bought a fire extinguisher, but used up too much of the charge practicing the stunt at home. The wind was easily strong enough to put the fire out if there was a problem. And that was all he really did, as it was freezing cold with a howling wind. And we were lucky that we left when we did, 2 minutes later and we would have had to run from the Cops that showed up.

The guy learned from someone else who does it for a magic show or something like that. He was wearing 4 or 5 layers of clothing to help protect himself. The burning material he used was lysol. Basically it burns up on the surface of the clothing instead of burning the clothing itself. It was pretty cool when it happened. Although I almost froze to death.
