Title: My Next WBL
Description: With pics this time...

Okay...here it is. After my old one died a sad death (threaded connection snapped clean off when I put it down) I decided to build an new one that wouldn't have that same weakness. I used 2" PVC again, I would have used 2.5" but I can't get anything rated over 130psi in that size around here. To order it directly would mean buying a 6 metre length which would cost well over $100. Oh well.

It has a 1:1 chamber to barrel ratio, compared to my old one which was 0.5:1. Barrel and chamber are both 32 inches long. Like my previous launcher, uses a tubeless tyre valve which has a large rubber stopper on the end which provides a perfect seal...no leaks whatsoever. Also uses the old ball valve from my previous WBL, while I wait for my Diaphragm valve to come in from Australia. I'll let you guys know when I get it.

I haven't tested the max range yet, but at 80psi it gets the same range as my old one did at 110psi (around 500 feet). It's a lot louder too, and makes a CRACK! rather than a FWOOOMP. I'm not sure why this is exactly, but it's probably due to the much larger air chamber.

Overall, I'm pleased with the result...but it should be even better when the new valve come in. Can't wait!

Looks really nice! You did a clean job, no primer stains or runs. It'll be interesting to see what the maax range of this thing is.

I would add a threaded connection at the base of the barrel, so you can switch barrels (different sizes), I did it, and am glad I did, as 2" is just a bit small for WBs, and 3" is too big for potatoes. Not to mention a 1.75" for shooting off those lovely golf balls.

Thanks! There is a threaded connection at the base of the barrel so I can switch barrels, it's just got about 20 layers of thread seal tape :D . When the old gun broke the PVC thread was still screwed into the ball valve, and after getting it out the valve doesn't seem to seal as well. So lots of tape seemed to fix it.

If anyone wants any other photos (or high resolution ones) let me know.

They should be working fine. Try saving and opening the source, or unblock images from the host if that option is accidentally on.
