Title: Preparations For War
NiborDude - December 10, 2005 07:58 PM (GMT)
During my free periods in school, I have been pondering over the construct of our team. I want to base our team like the US army. The army makes sure that every person who goes into battle has the essentials to survive.
Grunts (frontlines men):
1x gun
2x tennis can with 4 water balloons (Douchenator Ammo)
1x backpack
1x full 2 liter bottle of water
1x empty 2 liter bottle
1x 20 oz bottle of drinking water
Weapons officer (keeps weapons in check):
1x gun
Tools
1x backpack
3x full 2 liter bottle of water
1x 20 oz bottle of drinking water
Point (Front man):
1x gun
1x backpack
1x half full 2 liter bottle of water
1x tennis can with 4 water balloons (Douchenator Ammo)
1x 20 oz bottle of drinking water
Artilary (Guy with Douchenator):
1x Douchenator
1x Bike Pump
5x tennis can with 4 water balloons (Douchenator Ammo)
1x Small gun
1x 20 oz bottle of drinking water
1x back pack
Gaurdian (Protector of Artilary):
1x Gun
3x 5x tennis can with 4 water balloons (Douchenator Ammo)
1x Backpack
1x 20 oz bottle of drinking water
2x 2 liter bottle of water
There will be one of all of these people accept for Grunts. We can always have more of them.

Sounds good, but you forgot force recon...

The term "grunt" is used very loosely. Our grunts are our regular soldiers, but they are also our snipers, scouts, etc. Our Guardian could also take any role, but must use those roles to protect the Douchenator.
The commanders should have some extra stuff, like bags of water balloons [we can use our own guns to fill them right on the field], a radio, and extra water or a sidearm.

Ok. Whenever I heard grunt I think either front lines GI's, or those funny little guys in halo...

Yeah me to. Those positions are good and make sense, but again consider a recon guy. B)
DX - December 10, 2005 11:31 PM (GMT)
Our grunts can act as recons if necessary. The equipment would be the same, so there's no point making another category. Our team, after all, was the first position-switching team and one of the best at doing it [We don't notice when we switch positions, it just happens when necessary.
Hunter - December 11, 2005 02:07 AM (GMT)
I see. On my paintball team, force recon (a.k.a. me) wears ghillie and can radio back results, so it's a little bit differant...
NiborDude - December 11, 2005 06:20 PM (GMT)
Scouts or Recons could be used in water wars, but our enemy is not the type that you can scout out. Usually WaterBridge hides in reeds and bushes. Rarely will you see them out in the open unless they're attacking or fleeing. If we had someone scout out their possition they would probably never find them, or get killed. It's just too risky.
Hunter - December 12, 2005 03:27 AM (GMT)
What I do is, sneak up to a chokepoint of some sort, and use my ghillie to bland in, then report enemy movement over radio. And I can blast anyone who somes close...
NiborDude - December 12, 2005 04:45 AM (GMT)
Yeah, and then you got the other 4 guys running after you. Not a smart idea.
Hunter - December 12, 2005 05:03 AM (GMT)
No, not what I meant. Since people in ghillie are next to impossible to see, just let all of them walk past you, then shoot em in the back.
NiborDude - December 12, 2005 05:33 AM (GMT)
Just because you have ghillie on does not mean you're invisible. And anyway, the furthest away from them you're going to be is only 60 feet. There's no way you can get away with shooting them. I know from experience that if you're a scout and you engage the enemy, you will die.
Hunter - December 12, 2005 02:28 PM (GMT)
We've got someone from marine recon, and he can get to within 4 feet of someone without being seen.
DX - December 13, 2005 02:20 AM (GMT)
Our teams really need to have a war. I would shoot myself if I let someone sneak up within even 30 ft. of me. Good luck sneaking up on this team, we don't miss much. I sent us chasing deer accidently once because I react to any slight movement within a few hundred feet. Any kind of camo will not hide you, if you move, there's a 99% chance I'll see you.
Hunter - December 13, 2005 02:22 AM (GMT)
Lol...There's that ego again...Our guys do the most damage when you're in the middle of a battle and aren't paying attention. Also, people with bloodhounds have walked within 10 feet of ghillied snipers without seeing them.
NiborDude - December 13, 2005 03:40 AM (GMT)
Please remember we're talking about water wars, not paintball.
Hunter - December 13, 2005 05:03 AM (GMT)
Sorry...I get the two confused sometimes. Probably in water wars you guys are right. but you can't deny my guys would pwn you in a paintball game lol...we have a paintball tank :P
Some Guy - December 13, 2005 08:55 PM (GMT)
Paintball tank? I believe that you have one, but is it like a large wooden box sort of thing with wheels and a paintball gun sticking out? That would be fun in water wars, but a bit extreme...
Hunter - December 13, 2005 10:08 PM (GMT)
http://thepaintballs1.tripod.com/1stan.jpgThose things on the front are 2" pvc launchers powered by a scuba tank. It is motorized and all too.

Can't see it. Tripod does not allow remote linking.
Hunter - December 13, 2005 11:02 PM (GMT)
Wierd...Link works for me...
