I have had this question for the longest while, What is the relationship between supersoakers and nerf guns ? For the longest time i have seen them be compared, and i want to know why are they related ?

They're both designed by Lonnie Johnson, for one thing.

Does anyone know how the trigger valves work on pressurized nerfs? Are they some kind of valve or do they use a completely different system?

I only have 2 nerf guns, both of which would be totally different. For the type that you pull back the cocking mechanism it expands a little piston. NO pressure is involved at this point. Then when you pull the trigger the spring forces the piston smaller, pressurizing the air and shooting the dart. However I have no idea on the workings of the pump , then shoot nerf guns, which are more soaker-like.

I have a pretty good idea of how spring powered nerf guns work (read the homemade instructions on a nerf web site somewhere...). I would assume that similar valves to Max-D could be used in Nerfs...

I've only got one Nerf gun, I like it though, its the Nerf Lock'N'Load.
