Title: Got another CPS 1500

Wild Boys - September 2, 2005 07:59 PM (GMT)
Well, today, the 1500 I won off eBay came today. It was faded a lot on one side and the tank was beginning to turn blue! I guess that was what happened if its stored in a garage for a year or so!

When I tested it out it was good, not as good as my other 1500 but still pretty solid. The pump seal seems to have gone though as water was spurting out when I pumped. I plan on painting it to make it look cooler.

At the present moment electrical tape is wrapped around the seal. I just need to get some silicon based lubricant and spray paint which should be tomorrow.

Well, the worst of this is over of opeing up the gun to paint. I have not undone the screws, my main aim was to get the nozzle selector piece off for today. After numerous pulling and goes with the screwdriver she came off, what an absolute pain in the arse! Thankfully its over! :P Also, while the gun is open I think I may put a spring on the trigger valve pin so that I won't have to open it again when the open trigger valve problem occurs. B)

I'll update with pics of the finished product. B)

I personally like 1700's a lot more, I've heard they break less and mine works great.

Wild Boys - September 2, 2005 09:39 PM (GMT)
To be honest, theres barely any difference. The biggest being being the colours. There some little differences inside. Supposedly on the 1700 it has a valve that prevents overcharging which does make the gun a bit stronger and reliable. Its, supposed to feel more solid than the 1500. Other things say that the reservoir plastic is thinner on the 1700. So they match pretty well. Both serve just as well and perform the same.

LIGHT ANNIHILATOR - September 2, 2005 10:26 PM (GMT)
I heard the 1700 was more durable.

Hunter - September 2, 2005 11:26 PM (GMT)
Yea, I read somewhere that there are a bunch of versions of 1500, and some ere unreliable, but the 1700 was always good.

aphemushroom - September 3, 2005 12:21 AM (GMT)
Well I'm waiting for my 1500 to come in the mail and I'm just going to hope that the gun wont break right away.

LIGHT ANNIHILATOR - September 3, 2005 12:39 AM (GMT)
I would take a 1700 over a 1500 100% of the time

aphemushroom - September 3, 2005 12:42 AM (GMT)
I would too but I just don't have the patience to wait. If the 1700 comes up after I already got the 1500, then I'll just try and get it anyways. I'm also saying that I dont bid like crazy so nobody complain.

LIGHT ANNIHILATOR - September 3, 2005 12:54 AM (GMT)
In my opinion the only crazy bidder is Curveuk it's like his rich dad gives him $7,000 to buy tons of every soaker ever made.

aphemushroom - September 3, 2005 12:56 AM (GMT)
He does also have really great timing. Every time I lose to him is because he snipes with like 5 secs left with a really outrageous price.

LIGHT ANNIHILATOR - September 3, 2005 01:04 AM (GMT)
If he does that we will only win if he has no intrest in the item at all. Or maybe im wrong he did not snipe magi-carrot on that other cps 2000 mk1 that went for $185 and he did previously bid on it when it was at $142.

aphemushroom - September 3, 2005 01:25 AM (GMT)
As I said earlier, he doesnt seem to be going as high these days. His max bid was 15 bucks on the CPS 1500 listing that I won.

Hunter - September 3, 2005 02:22 AM (GMT)
Strange...I wasn't even aware that was happening...he deserves to be shot with a CPS 2000 :P

LIGHT ANNIHILATOR - September 3, 2005 02:47 AM (GMT)
Well then he can shoot himself. lol

Hunter - September 3, 2005 03:01 AM (GMT)
Yea, my guess is he probably sucks at actual fighting, and is trying to make up for it with really good soakers.

Some Guy - September 3, 2005 03:02 AM (GMT)
Really? I was thinking that he sucks at fighting so he buys alot of good soakers. Then he hires a championship paintball team to use them. He calls himself the commander, but all the decisions are made while he's not looking.

aphemushroom - September 3, 2005 04:36 AM (GMT)
Life sucks doesnt it?

How would you know? Do you even have a 1500 or 1700? I may not have a 1700 but I do have 1500's. I haven't encountered any problems with one of my 1500's. While the one I am painting had a worn pump seal that happens to every gun after a while. Just because the 1700 looks better and some things say its more durable doesn't mean you'd rather get a 1700 over a 1500. They are both the same in nearly every way and perform the same. Since the 1700's reservoir plastic is thinner than the 1500's they are both roughly about the same durability wise.

There may have been some versions of the 1500 that were bad, but it was the same gun as the 1700 was overall. Anyway, this topic was just about what I was going to do to my 1500. It wasn't about comparing the two of them.

Anyway, Curveuk is an idiot. Like said he probably can't even fight with Super Soakers so he gets loads of big ones to win. Probably some fat person or something. Man, if he is a commander then i'd just love to kick his ass to show how crap he is! :P

Well, painting is finally going well. After trying numerous paints to paint the green plastic, I finally found a paint that I would never thought would work. I found some gold laquer and it worked well after all that. So now its just paint in progress.

Hunter - September 3, 2005 04:28 PM (GMT)
Cool; looking forward to seeing how it is when finished.

NiborDude - September 3, 2005 08:21 PM (GMT)
The 1500 is my favorite gun. Congrats on winning it.

Hunter - September 3, 2005 08:50 PM (GMT)
If your 1500 is your favorite gun can I have your 2000? lol jk I personally like the colors of the 1700 more.

Wild Boys - September 3, 2005 09:29 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the congrats NiborDude. I've got to say that the 1500 has to be one of my all time favourite guns. Who did you mean about who's you wanted to have even though it was a joke Hunter? Me and NiborDude both have a CPS 2000. :P

While you may like the 1700 colours, you could still get a 1500 if you had no choice and paint over the grey to make it look like a 1700. There are a few other bits you may want to paint black if you want to look nearly identical to the CPS 1700 and the colours of it you love. :D

LIGHT ANNIHILATOR - September 3, 2005 10:23 PM (GMT)
Many people say the cps 1500/1700 are the best all-round gun's for any sitiuation and they almost are exept for one thing. They dont have a fan blast.

EDIT: the only reason i like the 1700 more is because of it's durability i like the 1500's colors more.

Uh...both is fine to me lol. I originally meant nibor, but if you feel like giving yours away...jk

DX - September 4, 2005 12:07 AM (GMT)
There's not much of a difference. To be honest, if I had to choose between a 1500 and 1700, I would flip a coin. And stock colors should not even be a factor, you always have the power to change the colors. ;)

Hunter - September 4, 2005 12:21 AM (GMT)
Well, if I had the choice, I would say the 1700, because it was released 2 years later, so the gun itself is probably in better condition.

aphemushroom - September 4, 2005 04:21 AM (GMT)
Well sometimes you dont have a choice. But looks like everyone can choose either one.

Wild Boys - September 4, 2005 03:18 PM (GMT)
The finished product.

Wow...that looks so awesome. Lol now I feel like painting a gun..probably my 2700...

LIGHT ANNIHILATOR - September 4, 2005 04:22 PM (GMT)
That's the coolest looking gun i have ever seen when i get a cps 3200 I will paint it just like that and a 2700 painted like that would look so awesome.

Wild Boys - September 4, 2005 08:31 PM (GMT)
Thanks, it turned out way better than I thought it would when plans on painting it were first made. The gold and the black really do mix well with each other. :)

It was going to be black and yellow originally. Turns out way better gold. :P

Hunter - September 4, 2005 10:30 PM (GMT)
Hmm...wild boys, how did you manage to paint around the stickers?

Crashdummy - September 5, 2005 12:07 AM (GMT)
I think he just pulled them off, painted the gun, then put them back on. :P

Hunter - September 5, 2005 01:17 AM (GMT)
Hmm; yea, didn't think of that. Now I feel like an idiot :(.
If I paint my 2700 it probably won't be with gold though, more like black and gunmetal.

Some Guy - September 5, 2005 03:32 AM (GMT)
Nice paintjob. I would paint one of my soakers if I didn't have to repair/mod/open/touch them every day.

Hunter - September 5, 2005 05:37 AM (GMT)
This just occured to me, but if you now have two, why not tribulation mod one? especially since marauder has the full instructions posted on hydrowar.

Forceuser - September 5, 2005 08:18 AM (GMT)
That looks sweet man, I'm in love now... I wonder what my 2500 would look like in those colours.

Personally I would always go for a 1500 over a 1700, mainly for the fact that it's a '98 and I like that CPS grey.

Wild Boys - September 5, 2005 10:14 AM (GMT)
Thanks again for the positive comments and I'm glad you liked it.

Personally, I don't want to do a tribulation mod, I like my 1500's the way they are. Some people think differently on what they want to do on their guns, but I just like my guns stock.

I seem to be a big 1500/1700 and 2500 lover. I'll probably get more of these as time goes on since battling with these is so fun.

Buy as many as you like as long as you dont outbid me on every single 2500 auction.

Hunter - September 6, 2005 03:13 AM (GMT)
Yea, I probably won't be going on ebay yet, I have promised myself I won't get anymore guns until my current ones are all modded/integrated.
